Printer Tray Problem Officejet K8600

My child pulled out this plastic, gray-colored stick in my printer tray which caused a small, gray, plastic ramp to pop up at the end of the tray where the wheels pull the paper up. Because of this, I can't shut my printer tray and my prints come out crooked. For the life of me, I can't get it to go back down.
I've tried pushing it the stick back in but it won't budge. I also tried to push the ramp down with one hand and then push the stick in. The ramp went down with ease when I pushed but the stick was still stuck.
Does anyone else know how to get that little, gray ramp to go down and get the stick pushed back in?

Hi all,
I am all new to Jetforms, but I have recently taken over some maintenance of an allready running in production.
In this system (which uses Jetform 5.3 and Central 5.3) there is suddenly a problem with i form where page one is printed from one tray and page two is printed from another tray.
The form is a two page form with two master pages.
I have tried taking a look at the form and set the trays to the same for page 3 and 4 and recompile the form without this helping anything.
I have NO (or next to none) experience with Jetform Designer and Central in general so I have a hard time finding out what to do.
Can any of you help me?

Envelope printing alignment problems - Officejet Pro L7590

I have been trying to print #10 envelopes form Word 2007. The print will not align. It prints off the envelope. I downloaded & installed the latest firmware & drivers. My software is up to date. I have tried all print setting combinations from within Word. I even tried printing from Works. I get the same result. I'm pulling my hair out. Can anyone HELP?

I'm looking for an answer for the same problem. The envelope will only print in the center of the page but the orientation is correct. Any thoughts anyone???? thx

Error printing large photo to HP Officejet K8600 when using PSE7

I am running PSE7 on a Toshiba laptop using XP home SP3. I have 1.5 gb of memory. I have a large color photo scanned in that is 14x10. I tried printing it out using MS Office Picture manager and HP photo essentials. Neither program would allow for the custom size photo on the 13x19 paper that I have. The best they could do was make the photo larger to fit the paper which made the picture slightly fuzzy. So I purchased PSE7 thinking that this good product would allow custom print sizes.
The page setup and print commands seem to do everything I want. The print screen shows how the picture should look centered on the larger paper. When I send it to print with the print spooler on the 277 mb photo goes completely to the spooler without going to the printer. After waiting a short while it sends a second copy of the photo to the print spooler and even though the print documents window only shows one document it shows 2/1 in the page column and robs another 277 mb of memory. This continues indefinitely without ever printing. I stop it when it gets to the sixth send (6/1) and is now using of 2 gb forcing the computer into virtual memory.
I decided to eliminate spooling and send directly to the printer without spooling. It almost worked but, but half way through the print a 1 1/2 inch wide blank stripe the full height of the picture (10") is in the middle of the picture (in other words: that part of the picture is missing). I tried a second time thinking maybe there was a memory hiccup. The second time the first quarter of the picture is cut off and there is a 3/4" wide stripe in what would have been the middle.
The picture prints out using other programs just not in the custom size. Of course, HP support tells me it is an Adobe problem and since it doesn't occur with other programs I tend to agree. One final note: When the picture goes to print it tells me that certain postscript commands will be stript out since the printer does not support postscript.

Print Cartridge Problem: Tricolor - HP Officejet J4680 All In One

I am seriously going to have an anxiety attack. I run a business from home & I HAVE to have a printer. I just spent $50 on new ink cartridges. My printer was working fine for the last week, and then tonight I have this error message:
Print cartridge problem: [Tri Color] . Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot
SO I reset the printer, shut it on and off, cleaned the cartridge and the printer, switched out the new cartridge with the old one ~ same problem. Over and over.
I called HP and they said that since my printer is out of warranty they can't help me unless I purchase a new warranty plan. What horrible customer service. This printer is a product of HP and I should be able to get help regardless of when the warranty expired.
This is so frustrating. If I can't get help, I think I would rather buy a new printer of a different brand instead of paying for a warranty after I just spent 50 bucks on ink. GRRR!

Officejet Pro L7590 Print Quality Problems - Black/Yellow Printhead

Officejt Pro L7590 All-In-One
Running on Windows 7 64 bit, USB connected to computer
Approx 2.5 yrs old; has printed 30,000 pages.
Issue: Black/Yellow printhead replaced about 500-1000 pages ago; new unit only tested as "Fair" in diagnostics, even though it was fresh outta the box. Print Quality good.
About two weeks ago, printer refused to print, flashing ambler "!", etc., error message regarding black/yellow printhead.
Ordered replacement ($71 again -- ouch! Whole printer only cost $199 30 months ago).Again, new unit only "fair" in diagnostic (original Cyan/Magenta printhead still reads as "good").
New printhead required much cleaning and aligning, and now prints with large gaps on a regular basis down the page. Talked to tech guy @ Staples where i bought it; his only "helpful" suggestion was that most people just toss the printers the first time the printheads go bad.
Print heads are separately warranted.
My questions:
(1) What else is there that's screwing up my print quality,a nd is it fixable?
(2) Can i get my $ back on the two printheads that didn't fix the printer's problems?

Print Quality problems

My print quality for Reds & Greens is coming out streaked. The blacks and blues are fine. I use HP ink cartridges anad keep them cleaned and aligned. But on the Alignment page the reds & greens are streaked and cannot be cognized. Could this be a print head problem ?

Default print tray keeps reverting to Tray 1, asking for glossy paper on HP P3015

We have a new HP P3015 at work, and a few days ago it started defaulting to Tray 1, and asking for Glossy paper. I have followed all onscreen instructions for changing print tray multiple times, and tried hard booting the printer a couple of times. There is no paper in Tray 1, and it is shut. For each print job, I must walk over to the printer and press OK to change print trays, and OK again to print. How can I clear these settings so that the printer will revert to printing from Trays 2 and 3 without having to walk over and change it for every job?
It also started printing much more slowly that when we first set it up a couple of months ago.

switch off the printer, take the paper out of the tray, reassemble the paper properly, then put the paper back and switch on the printer, it should work
or just change the paper specificationo in A4 legal paper it should work then

My iPhone and my iPad are connected by wi-fi, but I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC. What can I do?

Hallo, thank you for trying to help. Here is my problem:
In the past, the airprint was possible without problems from iPhone 4 and iPad 2. Since today it doesn't work anymore. My iPhone 4 and my iPad 2 is connected by wi-fi and I can serve in the internet. But I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC.
There are low ink-levels and therefore a message comes to indicate this by printing from PC. iPhone and iPad are accepting the print order without any messages after, but does't excecute the print.
What can I do?

I have a customer that wants the same report to print to different printer trays depending on parameters sent it. We have no problem recognizing which tray it should go to, but cannot get it to print to the tray that is specified. It just prints to the same defualt tray every time. They are running BOXI on a Windows OS. Any direction would be great.

Can you post some code? How are you getting you PCL to the printer?
Take a look at the javax.print.attribute.standard.MediaTray print request attribute and see if that will help.

Need instruction on how to print with HP Officejet 6210

this is with a powerbook G4 1.5, OS 10.4.5, and an HP Officejet 6210 with newest drivers (released 8/06).
I've used an HP PSC950 for years, connected to my AEBS with USB, using Felix's instructions for setting up the foomatic/hpijs driver, always worked great. Once in a while it would go out on me, rarely, and i'd reinstall the driver and it would work again.
Several months ago, i was trying to print something on Mapquest and i gave too many commands at once and the system got confused and ever since then, it won't print wirelessly, reinstalling the driver didnt' help.
Also, i'm not sure i'm adapting Felix's instructions to the new OS which doesn't exactly match the instructions.
Anyway, haven't had wireless printing in months. Finally tonight, i went out and got a new printer, the HP Officejet 6210, first checking and finding it on the compatability list, both Felix's list and HP's list.
I set it up, it works fine with direct computer/printer USB connection.
I just don't know how to set up the Mac to print with the 6210. I have the 6210 connected to the AEBS with USB cable. I dont know what else to do.
I went to an HP page where it gives step by step instructions for USB to Airport instructions.

Step one and two are OK. Step 3 says:
"Turn on the printer and verify that the wireless mode is enabled. If you need more information on how to enable the wireless mode, see the User Manual which shipped with the printer."
I have no clue about how to verify that the wireless mode is enabled. In the index of the 6210 User Manual there is not a word about 'wireless.' The word 'network' isn't in there either. Under 'Connection' it doesn't mention anything about wireless printing. So i'm not really able to do this step.
I tried to do the other steps but if they are talking about the Airport pull down menu in Step 4, there is no printer listed there. I tried to follow step 5 but it leads nowhere.
Is there some way to set up the Mac the way i set it up for the foomatic/hpijs driver for the PSC 950, so that i can select 10.0.1.1 in the printer menu and print? I tried going into the set up utility and chose Add and chose internet IPP printing and wanted to choose the HP 6210 driver but it wasn't available. There was an HP 6200 series foomatic/hpijs driver--what does that mean? Am i supposed to use that? I chose that and tried to print from 10.0.1.1 but in Print Jobs it just says "10.0.1.1 is busy, will retry in 30 seconds." In other words, it doesn't work. This is what happened when i tried to get the PSC 950 working again too.
Anyway, the HP instructions don't have anything to do with any of this. They just say to make sure the wireless mode is on and then go to Safari and choose Bonjour and various other things that when i try them, they aren't available as choices.
I know that someone on these forums was able to use Bonjour to print with their laptop so it must be possible (with Windows however).

Plus HP says they tested the connection with Mac OS and it works. So it must just be a matter of some knowledge i am lacking that would get it working.
If the printer won't work, i have to return it within 14 days so I need to get on it and try to determine if it will work.
Could there be a problem with my AEBS, which would explain why i was never able to get my PSC950 to print wirelessly again after that crash on Mapquest?
Do i need to reinstall the OS?
I seriously don't think this printer has a wireless mode, otherwise it would be mentioned in the manual. I ran through the menu, tools and preferences (on the printer)--nothing about wireless mode. But why should it need a wireless mode if it's connected by USB cable to the AEBS? Isn't this just a matter of setting up the Mac software to print with Airport?

i have duplicate posts because when i tried to post the comments on 'question answered', i got a red error message saying i had violated no posting within 30 seconds of the last post. I carefully counted out 30 seconds and then waited some more, but i got the same error when i tried to post it again. so then i clicked on the Reload or Refresh browser button, "are you sure you want to send this page again?" yes. then i tried sending the answer comments again and it posted, a long with two duplicates.
What ever happened to the Edit and Delete post buttons that used to be available on this site, for a short time after posting?

Usually, you can change the default paper trays through the control panel and through the Embedded Web server (EWS).
Check the settings on your control panel. Here is a link to the User Guide, check out page 94 and see if that helps you out.

For the EWS, put the printer IP address into your browser, then go to the tab that would list tray settings. Not sure exactly which tab has it for this printer series, but on other printer series it is on the system tab under paper setup.
