Printing Document Properties

I need to print a batch of PDFs (approx 200) with the document properties of each displayed on each print out. Is there any easy way to do this without editing each PDF to place this info in the footer?
Thanks in advance!
Anne

Yes you can use JavaScript and the Batch Process in Acrobat Professional to add a water mark with the desired items.
var docTitle = this.info.Title;
var docAuthor = this.info.Author;
var docSubject = this.info.Subject;
var docKeyword = this.info.Keywords;
var docCreator = this.info.Creator;
var docProducer = this.info.Producer;
var docCreationDate = this.info.CreationDate;
var docModDate = this.info.ModDate;
var docTrapped = this.info.Trapped;
var docNumPages = this.numPages;
this.addWatermarkFromText({
cText: "Created: " + docCreationDate + " by " + docAuthor,
nFontSize: 8,
nStart: 0,
nEnd: this.numPages -1,
nTextAlign: app.constants.align.right,
nHorizAlign: app.constants.align.left,
nVertAlign: app.constants.align.bottom,
nHorizValue: 8, nVertValue: 8
this.print();

  • In Windows 7 document printing the "Properties" button does not open the print selection list.

    New computer OS is Windows 7. Old computer OS was Windows XP.
    HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printer G510n-z printed documents as I chose using the Porperties button on the old system. Under the new system the Properties button does nothing and I must print using "general printing" instead of the setting I wish to use. How can it be fixed?

    When something works one day, but not the next, then something has changed. The fonts issue is an easy one, but with no new ones, then it is possible that one, or more, of the installed fonts has become corrupted.
    While fonts are not the only possibility, they ARE a common problem. Titler is very sensitive to fonts, either corrupt ones, or badly written ones, that are not exactly "corrupt."
    Good luck,

  • Acrobat X - Automate document properties and thumbnails

    I have 2400 files (180,000 pages) of declassified military records I am converting to PDF using Print To PDF. The original data is read from a proprietory browser created by the Marine Corps 15 years ago and Print to PDF is the only way to access the data.
    1. Currently, I open the new PDF created, CTRL D to Document Properties, then have to enter Navigation Tab > Pages Panel and Page and Magnifaction > Fit Height on each record set.
    2. Then i go to Description and add a Description from a database I have live on my website in Coldfusion and Access.
    3. I then save the file and close Acrobat X and then repeat the Print To PDF.
    Questions to start.
    A. Are there settings or Plugins that would allow each of the PDF's created using Print To PDF to automatically have the Navigation and Magnification settings already set?
    B. Is there any way to inject the Description into the new PDF or must this always be added manually?
    C. Is there any way to automate the Fast Web View function as part of the above process?

    You didn't mention which version of Acrobat you're using, which is critical to the answers to these questions.
    If you have Acrobat Pro, then you can do A and C in a batch process (aka Action).
    B can be achieved using a custom-made script. If you have version 9 or earlier a directly link to the DB can be created and the data copied from it to the script's metadata. If you have Acrobat X this can also be done, but would require export the information from the DB to a file, reading that file with a script in Acrobat and then using it to populate the metadate fields. Again, if you have Acrobat Pro this could be done in a batch process. Otherwise, you'll have to do each file at a time.

  • CP1518ni can't print documents bigger than 1 MB

    My color laserjet printer (CP1518ni) gives up printing big (> ~1 MB) graphic documents. I see in print spooler (Win XP) computer sends something about 750 KB to the printer, then  it stops spooling. AFter a minute or so there is an error message saying document failed to print. THis printer supposed to have 96 MB of RAM so it is not memory issue. I tried different softwares to send printout, but the same problem is there with any software. ANy suggestions, thoughts?

    There is no duplex option in the print dialog. From what I've read online the document prints as simplex or duplex depending on what the document properties are and they can't be set in the print dialog.
    If this is wrong and there is a way to select duplex from print dialog then I'd be happy to know about it - but all the information out there says even on versions where it is possible to set duplex in the print dialog the document properties override the printer settings.
    Like I said I haven't tried it because there is no option there. The only duplex setting I can find is in the document properties which I can't change.

  • Adjusting Automatically Generated Document Properties?

    Background: I create documents with Word Perfect X4.  I then print to PDF using a printer called "Adobe PDF."  I also have a program installed on my computer called Adobe Distiller that I think may be involved. I've notice recently that my PDF files are being created with document properties stating the full path of the file as the "Title" and my windows login ID as the "Author."
    Question: How do I adjust what document properties are automatically generated, or how do I adjust what they will say? I know I can edit the properties manually but this is inefficient.
    Thank you for your input.

    Have you filled in the properties of WordPerfect X4 and Acrobat's Identity under the applications Preferences?
    You might also set the properties of the created WordPerfect documents.
    Have you tried using WordPerfect to publish directly to PDF?

  • Help needed re document properties and tracing edits of the contents

    Hi there,
    We are in a situation where we believe a document may have been edited unethically and need to find out what the terminology means.
    The original document exists in print and we have been sent a 'copy'  of the same document via email several months later.
    The date created and modified, however, is very recent.
    We know the document has been altered as it is different to the original and are trying to find out when exactly it was modified.
    It is an acrobat document created on a Mac. In the document properties box it says 'Application: Word' so I guess that means that they created it in Word and saved it as an Acrobat file?
    It says the date created is 05/06/14 and the date modified is 05/06/14.
    Does this mean that the file's content has been changed or does it just mean that it has been saved etc?
    Any help very gratefully received!

    You can't really say anything. Files don't start out as PDFs, they start out as something else like a Word document.
    So, if you have the Word document, you can make a PDF any time.
    Edit the Word document any time, and make another PDF.
    Also, computer dates can be set by anyone any time. Dates in a PDF can be changed (though not by Acrobat, but it isn't rocket science). If you are looking into this from a legal point of view, dates on a document are worthless.
    Digitally signed documents have value provided they are signed in particular ways.
    Acrobat has a compare document facility, but all this will do is confirm the changes.
    To be honest, it sounds more as if they send you a new copy from the Word document, when it was asked for. Someone might have changed the document in the mean time, without tracking the changes in a way you'd have wished.

  • Editing Adobe PDF print documents

    I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.2.6 in Vista OS.
    I normally print  documents into Adobe PDF and save it.  I want to copy some of the text from that document by selecting a sentence in the document.  However, I am not able to do it in the printed document. I am not able to make any undelines or any marks to the text or copy a sentence as I can do with other normal Adobe PDF documents.
    I wonder anyone here knows how to make that PDF print documents editable, such as copy a sentence or make underline so on as we can do in the normal documents.
    Thanks for any help.

    Satyrias, try this-
    Open the PDF document. Click on Tools Menu -> Advanced Editing -> Touch up Text Tool.
    Select the Text. (It will show Loading Fonts... in the right bottom corner). Once done you can select the text and modify it.
    However, if you only want to copy a text -> Use 'Select Tool' it looks like an 'i-beam' on toolbar. User it to select text and copy that.
    If you want to apply styles:
    Right click on the selected text and click on Properties.
    Here you can change the color or apply stroke to make it bold.
    But I'm afraid, you cannot underline the text here... Adobe recommends users to create the document outside Acrobat and when they are done with that they can finally convert to PDF. There is very limited options available when it comes to edit the documents. Only those that are majorly used.
    If the document is a scanned pdf or its an image you can try the following: (However, using Acrobat 8, as its an older version, the chances are not as great as using Acrobat X)

  • Easy Print graphics properties

    Hi,
    We're running a single 2012 R2 session host through a 2012 RTM RDG / RDWeb / RDCB. Clients are all Win7 SP1 running RDP 8.1.
    The issue is that graphics are poor quality when printing through Easy Print. I can see by testing with CutePDF locally on the TS versus redirected that the raster graphics have JPG compression artefacts. The client is not happy with this.
    I know that Easy Print renders to XPS and sends the XPS over the RDP channel to the client. I can see that in printing defaults for "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" you can choose between JPEG high, medium or low compression, or PNG lossless. I've
    set MXDW defaults to PNG. No effect.
    I've examined the driver properties and found some files I can edit in notepad. I've hunted through and got quite hopeful when I located "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\prnms001.inf_amd64_4fa1863520b2418e\MXDW.gpd" and edited
    the default option for ImageType to "PNG". THis had no effect.
    I know exactly what's happening and I can't figure out how to configure it. Please can someone tell me how to make Easy Print use PNG compression instead of JPG for raster graphics.

    Hi Dharmesh,
    Thanks for posting links, but I don't think you have understood my issue.
    I will restate my issue as precisely as I can:
    When printing documents containing raster graphics using Easy Print, the graphics are JPG compressed. This results in poor quality. This has been isolated to the easy print mechanism. *I require to disable lossy compression when printing through Easy Print.*
    I'm sure this SHOULD be possible, as the rendering mechanism on the server is to XPS for transport over the RDP channel, and the MXDW allows you to select lossless compression. I just can't figure out how to do it.
    Thanks if you are able to assist.

  • Problem printing when spool print documents is selected as apposed to print direct

    I have an officejet 6500 and I'm having a problem printing a label created using Label Factory Deluxe software.  The job will not print if spool print documents so that printing finishes faster is selected under the printer properties.  The job appears to be sent to the printer.  The printer icon appears in the task tray for less than a second and the printer makes a trill sounding beep but nothing prints.  In addition there is nothing in the print que.  It will print however, if print directly to the printer is selected.  Any ideas???

    Hello,
    Well with out any info on versions the easiest way is to check the Not Printer Option on in the Page Setup of the Report.

  • Can't print documents double sided

    I am trying to print documents double sided but I cannot figure out how to do it.
    I have been searching online and have found I need to set the document properties to duplex.
    I have tried doing this; I right click on my document, select "document properties", go to the 'Advanced' tab. I can see "Duplex Mode" set to simplex but it is greyed out and I cannot change this.
    I find it unbelievable that I can't just print a document double sided - it's taken me half an hour to try and figure out how to do what should be a 20 second job.
    I am running Adobe Reader 11.0.09 on Windows 8.1 pro.

  • Custom Document Properties Don't Transer to Document Information

    I've got an MS Word 2003 document that I've added a number of custom document properties to. I converted the document to PDF using Acrobat Pro 8.1.2. The standard properties that were included in the Word file were transferred to the PDF file but none of the custom properties were transferred. I used the Standard conversion setting and the "Convert Document Information" checkbox was checked. Am I doing something wrong or does Acrobat only transfer the standard properties by design?
    Thanks
    Greg

    Thanks for the response. The properties I'm referring to in the Word file are those found under File > Properties. The dialog box that opens has a "Summary" tab that includes a set of standard properties (e.g. Author, Title, etc.). The dialog box also has a "Custom" tab where you can add custom properties in the form of name/value pairs. So if I want to add a custom property I enter the property name (i.e. "File Number") and the value (i.e. "VTD0123456789"). I am using PDF Maker and not printing to the Adobe PDF printer (although I tried that too this morning and the properties still didn't transfer).

  • Colors of the Icons in the Print Document Content Window

    When you right click a single source layout and click properties and then click next it takes you to the Print Document Content Window, where you can take topics and by clicking the arrow that points to the right hand frame, move the topics into your print document.
    I have seen posts on this forum where people talk about the colors of the icons on this screen. I have seen these icons colored blue, white and grey, but nowhere in the documentation or on these forums are the colors specifically documented, telling you what they really mean.
    I have a situation where for one of my single source layouts, the colors of the topics on the left pane are blue and the colors on the right pane are white. Meanwhile, in another one of my single source layouts the colors on the left are blue, but the colors on the right are grey and that single source layout doesn't generate the topics that I want.
    Can anyone explain to me what these colors mean, and if as I am thinking, grey means not there, why are they there in one single source layoput and not in the other?
    Below are some screen shots that illustrate my issue.
    This is the bad screen.
    and this is the good one.

    Hi there
    The gray icons signify that the topics have been excluded by virtue of using a Conditional Build Expression.
    The blue icons signify that the topics are included in the Printed Output.
    Cheers... Rick
