Problem printing when spool print documents is selected as apposed to print direct

I have an officejet 6500 and I'm having a problem printing a label created using Label Factory Deluxe software.  The job will not print if spool print documents so that printing finishes faster is selected under the printer properties.  The job appears to be sent to the printer.  The printer icon appears in the task tray for less than a second and the printer makes a trill sounding beep but nothing prints.  In addition there is nothing in the print que.  It will print however, if print directly to the printer is selected.  Any ideas???

Hello,
Well with out any info on versions the easiest way is to check the Not Printer Option on in the Page Setup of the Report.

  • Alignment problems printing direct to DVD with Epson R220

I know this question isn't specifically related to iDVD but I wondered if someone could help please?
I recently bought an Epson R220 printer to print direct to DVDs created with iDVD as I know labels stuck onto DVDs are best avoided.
However, using both the bundled Epson Print CD software and 'disclabel', I find the print is about 1cm off centre. I'm really surprised by this, as I thought these machines would just work out of the box - detecting through the software where the centre of the DVD is? I've tried everything to remedy this (including the position adjustment within Print CD which allows up to 5mm fine-tuning). The problem is I need more than fine tuning - the print is way off!
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has an R200 or R220 and might have had a similar problem as I've spoken to Windows users with the same printer, who report no such hassle.
    Many thanks,

Thanks Hardy - really appreciate the links to the Epson site. I've tried using the manual settings as you suggest, and I've certainly witnessed a vast improvement. Basically, it seems that if I alter the position adjustment slightly and then opt for a manual print, the disc is centred no problem. It isn't quite up to the edge of the disc - there's about a 2mm gap, using one of the templates from the Print CD app. Have you noticed this also - or does the image print right up tight against the edge of the disc?
If I go back and opt to just 'Print' from the first menu that appears after selecting File>Print, (i.e. not using Manual to print) the image is consistently about 15mm off centre - I've tried this on a dozen tests. However, using 'Manual Print' this isn't the case. I wonder if there is a glitch here in the latest edition of EPSON Print CD (V1.4), in that you seem unable to specify 'Page Set Up'?
I've also gone back to the excellent disclabel application. Here I find that if I change the 90% default under page set up, to 100%, the disc is also aligned correctly.
Thanks very much Hardy for taking the time to work through this one with me - much appreciated.

  • Print queue stalling when spooling many documents

Hello all, need help with a peculiar issue.
We have just built a brand-new Server 2003 R2 SP2 x86 virtual server in VMWare.  This server is also installed with the Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications components and a program called PrintMonitor that appears to be a bridge between a UNIX-based
application on UNIX server submitting print jobs to the Server 2003 R2 server.
The problem is that whether going through PrintMonitor or just into the standard Windows printing subsystem, the print queue for any of the 3 printers installed on the server will stall when a large number of documents are submitted.  For example, if
15 small Notepad documents are printed to a printer, they will all queue, but after 11 print (this number appears to be consistent and repeatable), it can take anywhere from 45 seconds to 2 minutes for the rest to print.
I've already done a lot of searching on this issue and everything I read says that printing problems are most likely due to print drivers.  Of the three printers, one is an HP 4000 series LaserJet and the other 2 are large Kyocera TASKalfa 8001i's.
The problem has manifested on all three printers, but so far we've only tried to remedy the problem on the HP.  We've tried 4 alternate drivers and the problem persists.  The HP PCL5 and PS drivers completely failed to work because it didn't
have correct paper parameters.  The PCL6 driver behaved the same as the driver included in Windows.  We've tried submitting through PrintMonitor and directly into Windows, but the problem persists there as well, which would seem to eliminate PrintMonitor
as the source of the problem.
Does anyone else have any suggestions on what we can try?

This is a very old issue due to the RFC and design of the lpr protocol.  Can you not use Standard TCP/IP ports to the print devices rather than LPR ports?
Here's a doc comparing limitations in LPR and reasons to move to Standard TCP/IP Port monitor.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc728404(v=WS.10).aspx
All the print devices you listed support Standard TCP/IP Ports.
If you really have to stick to LPR Port due to your PrintMonitor application, respond back or just search for: 721 lpr alan morris.

  • Unable to print directly to PDF Printer Driver on Windows Vista

I'm having problems printing directly to my PDF printer drivers - neither "Adobe PDF" nor "Adobe PDF Converter" seems to work. The printer either gives me an error or when it asks me to save it to a folder, it seems to send the file into the atmosphere! I have Acrobat 8 Professional (Adobe CS3) on a Windows Vista Premium operating system. I tried downloading the Adobe distiller file "Winsteng.exe" but got an error when I tried to install it. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, as this is really frustrating! Thanks in advance.

What kind of file are you trying to print? Is this a recent issue or was it happening earlier as well? Repairing your Acrobat installation will definitely help you.
Also Can you share your screen shot of the following dailogs:
    1) Printers and Faxes
    2) Printing Preferences... (Go to Printers and Faxes->Right click on Adobe PDF Printer->Printing Preferences...)
    3) Advanced Options (Go to Printers and Faxes->Right click on Adobe PDF Printer->Printing Preferences...->Paper/Quality->Advanced...)
    4) Advanced Properties (Go to Printers and Faxes->Right click on Adobe PDF Printer->Properties->Advanced Tab)
    5) Advanced Properties (Go to Printers and Faxes->Right click on Adobe PDF Printer->Properties->Ports Tab)

  • Problem printing Report Document Draft

    Dear support,
our customer has problem printing its Document Draft Report, because
the "DRAFT DOCUMENT" string on the background of the page is too large.
The printer can manage this dimension and prints an empty second page
(also when the document has more pages).
    See attached file.
If we disable the "Print Draft Watermark on Draft Document" flag in the
Print Preferences, the customer hasn't the problem printing the draft
    document.
The customer need to distinguish the print of draft document.
Is it possible in the report designer to know if a document is a Draft or
    a Definitive one?
If we can understand the type of the document, we could add a text box
"DRAFT DOCUMENT" in the report and disable the "Print Draft Watermark on
    Draft Document" flag.
    Can someone help us, please?

    hi Emanuele Croci,
For example paper format which default as Letter, but in PLD
if y'r paper format is A4 then definitely it will be printed more than 1 page.
Go to File --> Page Set Up --> Change paper format as in PLD.
Also reduce the font by 1 point.
If problem not get solved,You can print Water mark as DRAFT from printer properties.
Start --> Printer and Faxes > Select Printer you want to print,Right Click it>Select Properties>Select Printing Preferences>Select Effects Tab> Select Water mark option as Draft>Click Apply.
Test print it let me know.

  • Problem printing documents four up in lanscape?

I have a problem printing documetnts 4 up in landscape.
The first page will print 4 cells to the first page in portrait mode, even though I have selected landscape, the rest of the document will print 4 up in landscape.
When I have to produce more than 1 copy, all cpoies will have the same fault.  To get around this I have to print 1 copy, which will have the error then, without leaving the print setup screen, print the other copies which will be fine, i.e 4 up in landscape on all pages including the first page.

what are you trying to print using which printer and from which application.

Can't test at the moment, but, if after clicking the print

    then click Print?

  • Message- Print No pages from the document were selected to be printed

I have had this application for some time, simply never used it.  Last night I tried converting a PDF file to word, unsuccessfully, I might add.
Today, whilst printing a page, my printing settings appear to have been reset because when I selected Print selected page, the following message appeared:
    Print
No pages from the document were selected to be printed message
How do I reconfigure my settings to preview rather than defaulting to PDF?  Kindly advise.  Cheers.

I have only been able to print by exporting from iphoto. I have a new HP printer and there is software that supports photo printing ("HP photo smart") and I have been able to do it this way. On some occasions I have been able to use the iphoto>print>then preview before actually printing. There is a print option on the preview pane and that has worked on occasion...unsure why it doesn't work always. Please pass on any other hints, or let me know if this works for you!!

I am using Firefox ver. 3.0.19 and I have Windows 7 which came with a new computer. When I use Firefox as a browser I cannot print my emails. I get an error message: "pcfax not availabe". If I use IE I have no problem printing the emails.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== From day 1 with the new computer about two weeks ago.

It sounds like you have the wrong printer selected.
When you get the Print window, pick another printer from your printer dropdown. You seem to have a fax printer selected instead of a physical printer.

  • Problem printing Adobe Reader documents (PDF). Text files and MS-WORD print fine. Help?

I cannot get my ePrint to work with Adobe Acrobat (ReaderX) and pdf files.  I get a "Failed to send" message.  I have NO problems printing text or MS-WORD files so I know my Internet, printer, and local intranet are working.  Help?

When you say the bottom right of you screen, are you talking about your computer screen?  If you are then, you are not using ePrint, which is fine.  You may just be having some wireless network issues.  Try this.  When it asks for the DNS information on step six, enter Google's public DNS (Preferred = 8.8.8.8 | Alt = 8.8.4.4).  If that does not help, let me know  and I will see what I can do.
By the way, if you are emailing the documents to your printer, which is ePrint, you are right about the file size limit, however, the limit is 5 MB.  Most likely you are not Creating PDF or Docx documents that are anywhere near that size, so that should not be the issue if you are using ePrint.  If you are using ePrint, try turning the router and printer off.  Turn the router on and let it become stable.  Turn the printer back on.  Turn off and on any other devices that are connected to your wireless network as well, so they can re-establish network connection.  Now retry the ePrint job.  If that does not work, let me know.

  • Printing issues when reducing a document size

The problem is when I want to print a document that has a native resolution of about 36"x84" (example) down to a size of 36"x17"(typical for my application) it leaves off/out a lot of detail and lines that should be there.  Why doesn't it just shrink the lines to a smaller size? Is there a solution to this problems? Certain items just vanish.

    Vikrantt Singh,
Not entirely sure what you mean by work flow.
    The software is:
    Adobe Reader XI
    Version 11.0.06.70
    AGM Version 4.28.134
    CoolType Version 5.11.135
    Core Version 11.6
    JP2K Version 2.0.00.32097
    I am using a Cannon IPF755 Plotting Printer which uses a 36" x 500' Roll of paper.
The Process is we recieve a document (usually a drawing file) that has been saved by the company we recieve it from as a pdf.  We open it and try to print the document for use via markups and other assortment of things.  Sometimes the documents we recieve are very large upwards of 160" x 40" (estimation)  There is no need to print something that large because they are too big for any table let alone a wall.  We use eithe rthe shrink oversized pages option or the fit option and it leave details and lines you can clearly see on screen, off of the paper version.  I can only assume this is due to some sort of compression, however it is my understanding that when you shrink a file to fit, it should take away features, details, etc. it should only make them smaller.  Especially when I have the ability to print 1200 dpi?

  • Problems printing small documents

    Hi everyone,
I am a digital printer and I am running into an odd problem printing document that are smaller than 8.5 by 11. Typically I don't print from Acrobat. I usually just import directly into Command work station and then print from Fiery. However every so often I need to "print as image" to make sure the document prints as it should. I create a custom page size and make sure to choose the correct printer to format for. When I view it in my rip software the document reads as 8.5 by 11. So for example I can send business cards over at 2.25 by 3.75 and use the custom page size that matches but it still comes over as business card placed on a 8.5 by a 11 page. Does any one know how to remedy this? I am using Acrobat XI on a Mac running OS 10.9.3. I use Command Workstation 5.5 printing using Fiery rip software on a Xerox 700 digital press.

    Yes, that shoild be fine.
At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files!
Disconnect the USB cable from any UPS so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

  • Problems printing a high qaulity PDF from a document

    Hello,
Recently I have had some problems printing a high qaulity pdf (acrobat 9 pro) from a document made in 2010 word.
Every time I have tried to print these documents there is information missing in the pdf incuding text, pictures, shapes etc.. This was never a problem untill I installed 2010 word.
I sent it to a friend, and he was able to print the document into a pdf just fine.
What can I do to fix this? It is very important that I tackle this problem asap!
If you need to know any additional information, please ask.
    Thanks

Have you  checked to see if Acrobat 9 or any version of Acrobat works with Office 2010?
