Print preferences do not apply to CRM users
When Print Preferences are set for a document type (for example, print 2 copies on Add), they are applied to Professional users, but not to CRM users. While it seems reasonable to restrict CRM users from changing the print preferences, these are meant to be company-wide defaults and should apply to all users. I have verified with SAP support that CRM users are not affected by settings in the print preferences. We are currently using a work-around of setting the preferences in User Defaults for these users, but it is time-consuming and could be neglected when adding a new user. There is no reason why system defaults should not apply to CRM users.

I agree with Meinolf. Besides, we can try to configure this setting under Computer Configuration and apply the GPO to the terminal server, in which way all users logging onto
the server will apply the setting.

Can't open Security & Privacy preference pane?...please help.

I would be grateful if anyone could assist... I can't seem to open the security & privacy preference pane. I receive the following "Preferences Error" upon trying to click the icon in my system preferences:
First click: You can’t open Security & Privacy preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac.
Second click: Could not load Security & Privacy preference pane.
I noticed the issue this past week when I installed some monitor callibration software. After downloading, the software's interface text did not load (it was simply blank for the drop down menus). The manufacturer tried to help me by clearing font cache and such, but that was not the issue. When he next directed me to the S&P pane, that's when I noticed I couldn't open it to adjust anything.
* I did go into Users & Groups and created a new admin user. I was then able to open the Security & Privacy pane, and load the monitor calibration software without any problems, so it seems to be a user issue I suppose? Tried to trash some security preferences, reinstalled 10.8.2, but with no luck.
Thanks for your assistance!Try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This does some maintenance routines and 3rd party applications don't load. Sometimes 3rd party applications are the problem. If your normal user account works in Safe Mode, it is probably a 3rd part application.

How can a iStore/CRM HTML administrator register new customer user/administrator?
We are now in R12.
In 11.5.9, via CRM HTML responsibility, we had to do the following steps in order to setup a new user account:
1/ Find the organziation and create the contact
2/ During contact creation process, there was a radio button to make the contact iStore user
3/ Enter name, contact info, user name and password for the new user.
4/ AFter the new user is created by CRM HTML Administrator, user receives email notification with username and password
5/ When new user attempts to login to the store using the login credential from the email, user will be prompted change password page
Do we have a similar functionality in R12?
If not, what is the alternate solution? no customization please
Just to be clear, basically we do not want the customers to have the ability to self-register. Therfore, sales organization would want to have complete control over the user registration.

Business catalyst user registration
How does one setup (is it even possible) to set up two factor user registration in Business Catalyst.
i.e. The users registers and is sent an email with a link to validate that the user is using a valid email address.Should not be the case.
The Email is the primary identify, if you are using the proper email field and not a custom field BC will only add the form data to a single CRM entry. You wont find there are multiple customers in the CRM with the same email.
A user can always fill in the same form, and new cases attached to them. There is no system email check on the field itself at this time. You just need to design how your site and registration flow works so people know not to keep registering. -
When I open Mozilla, I get two windows. The one on top is identified as "User Registration"; it is blank except for the line, "%brandDTD; %browserDTD; %baseMenuDTD; %charsetDTD; %textcontextDTD; %customizeToolbarDTD; %placesDTD; %safebrowsingDTD; %aboutHomeDTD; %debuggerDTD; ]>", at the top. If I close that page, my usual home page is right behind it. It is apparently causing no actual problems, but is disconcerting. What is this page, is it asking me to do something (if so, what), and, if not, is there a way to stop it from appearing?

Security and Privacy Preferences pane cannot load
My mac says the security and privacy preferences pane cannot load. How do I access this pane? I just got my logic board replaced last week from Apple, if that helps.

Location Service in security and privacy preference pane not saved
Hi,
When I want to activate the location service inside the security and privacy preference pane, it is not save. I can check the box but if I leave the pref pane, and come back, it is still uncheck.
I notice that when I wanted to activate the icloud feature: localized my mac. Thus, it's not working due to my pref in privacy pane not saved.
I notice as well that in safari, there is a location option as well, and I can't activate it, like iCloud feature due to my pref in privacy always unchecked.

I can't tell you why it is the way it is. But I can say you could go a long way to alleviating your concern by going to System Preferences > Energy Saver and changing the sleep time such that your computer goes to sleep nearly immediately after you stop using it. Then even if you forget to log off, your computer will very quickly go to sleep and require a password. -
Security & Privacy preference pane not opening
All of my system preferences panes work except Security & Privacy. This has been broken since installing 10.9.0 and 10.9.1 hasn't fixed it. Pane tries to open then gives the error, "There was an error in Security & Privacy preference pane." Looked through other posts for solutions but nothing seems to work. Tried creating a new user account, deleting caches, systempreferences.plist. Took into Apple Store and they suggested restoring from TimeMachine backup but that did not fix it. Been dealing with this for a while but now I really need to install an unsigned app and can't get to the security pane to allow it.
Our preference panes seem to be identical.
There are two other things you might want to investigate:
1) Although this is unlikely, look in /Library/PreferencePanes to see if for some reason there might be another copy of Security.prefPane.
2) Another possibility may be that a settings file is corrupted. One such file seems to be in your account's Library folder. In the Finder hold down an "option" key while you pull down the "Go" menu, then select "Library". In the resulting window open "Preferences". Find the file com.apple.systempreferences.plist. With System Preferences not running, drag that file to the Desktop. Then see if you can access the Security & Privacy panel. -
IMac stuck in new user registration video
Hello, I have an iMac Flat Panel 1Ghz I got off ebay. I don't know the admin username and password and performed the apple recommended startup in Single User using Control-s on startup. This worked fine as I now have reset this iMac to startup on the original Apple registration video. I fill in the new user registration info but it gets stuck or freezes up after I select this computer does not connect to the internet. Is there anything I can do before I buy a new hard drive? Any help is appreciated. I don't have the original system install disks and it has system Tiger 10.4 and it won't boot up from an install disk, it goes directly into the new registration video and gets stuck. Help!!

This information does not apply to accounts that have filevault. I do not believe that you can change the password to a filevault account with in these methods.
Overview on how to fix password problems
Try running repair permissions and check for file integrity in disk utility. You do this from your startup disk. Try resetting the password by using the passswd or try deleting the .applesetupdone file. If this doesn't work, you are going to have to trash the netinfo database. Once you get logged on, you will need to re-access your data.

Basically, you hold down the command-s key then powering on your machine. The command key has a little apple symbol on the lower left. It is between the alt/option key and the space bar. On a PC keyboard, it will be the windows key, I think.
1) You can change the password on an account. ( Do you know Unix. You are in a Unix single user console. ) The setup commands you need should be listed on the screen. For Mac OS 10.4.11, the commands are:
# Type the follow two instructions to access the startup disk in read/write:
/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /
# Start up some utility processes that are needed.
sh /etc/rc
# You will probably need to press the return key once the system stops typing.
# To find out the users on the system type, use the list command. The l is a lower case L:

# One of these accounts will be the administrator.
# Pick one of the users which I'll call a-user-name and type it in this command:
passwd a-user-name
# and enter the new user password. You need six characters.

The root account isn't enabled by default. I am not sure if changing the password on root will enable it.
2) Get the Mac to set up an additional administrative account. You can then change the password on your old account.
Start with your computer power off. Hold down command-s. Power on your computer.
Type in the following:
The first two commands will depend on your release of Mac OS X. Look at what is typed out in the console to determine the exact format.

Why is my privacy preference blank in Safari 5.1
Why is my privacy preference blank in Safari 5.1. There is no way to manage cookies. It appears on my iMac but not my Macbook. Any imput on the issue appreciated.
Safari preferences in Version 5.1 (6534.50) with respect to cookies have changed with this latest update. In July, the last time I reviewed cookies saved in Safari, I was able to delete cookies individually. This no longer appears to be possible in the latest update.
In the Preferences > Privacy pane, there is a button "Remove All Website Data" which applies to "Cookies and other website data." I don't want to use this. I want to retain some cookies but not others. Under the "Remove all" button is another one, "Details" that applies to "[This many] websites stored cookies or other data." Clicking "Details" reveals a pane that shows all the website domains that stored data in Safari. Unlike the previous version of Safari, however, the pane does not show individual cookies set by the domains. It is possible only to review all the cookies set by a domain or none of them. This is a disadvantage. I very much prefer the previous version.
Another change, I think (not sure), is that in the latest Safari, private browsing no longer appears to block new cookies. In the Safari help file, the Browsing privately page shows the following statement:
"When Private Browsing is on, webpages are not added to the history list, the names of downloads are removed from the Downloads window after downloading is complete, AutoFill information isn’t saved, and searches are not added to the pop-up menu in the search field. Websites that store databases on your computer can’t modify the databases, so services normally available at such sites may work differently until you turn off Private Browsing. Any changes made to cookies are discarded when you turn off Private Browsing."
The last sentences, in fact, imply, by omission, that new cookies may be added to Safari, even though private browsing is turned on.
For these reason, I have abandoned Safari, and I will now use Firefox, which continues to allow reviewing and editing of the complete cookie list. If Apple reconsiders and makes it possible again to review all cookies individually, I will return to using Safari
If someone know of a way to review cookies individually in the current version of Safari, please let me know. Or if I am incorrect about what the latest version of Safari permits with respect to cookies, kindly correct me. -

If you can suggest the required source files in details,inorder to incorporate two more fields.
Say, AGE and COMPANY,with the existing fields in the same page.

Your query is divided into two parts.
The first part is adding new fields into existing form. This feature comes under Branding of portal. Plz use the link below understanding the same and related help :

The second part is retrieving the values from backend.Here it will be the UME database. You need to develop a logon.par file and replace the same in your portal.

Self user registration request fails during Approval.
Hi,
My case is explained below.
I have created a new user using "New User Registration" in the sign in page.
Now the user is created in OID.
I logged into identity manager using "xelsysadm" user.
I clicked "Track Requests" and search, I could see the new request with status "Pending request approval"
I clicked on "Pending Approvals", selected the request and click on "Approve"
I get a success message. However the user is not getting created in OIM.
Here the user is getting deleted from OID also.
I could not find any forum page discussing this issue. Anyone good in 11gr2 kindly help.

Click on track requests and search or your request
Click on your request number then it will open request details form.
This form will have two tabs request details and approval details.
Click on approval details tab.
Click on row#1.
As soon as you click on row #1, it will show you a history down to that row # 1 details. Here you will see sequestnce #, stage1, participant name, participant action etc.
Click on participant name for ex. xelsysadm.
As soon as you click on xelsysadm, view snapshot button will be enabled.
Click on view snapshot button.
Now, it will will show you a detailed request details form which will have two tabs request details and approval details.
Click on request details tab. Here you can update organization name. and you will see update button as well. Click on update button after updating org name.
Now, go to pending approvals and approve your request.

If Apple launches Mac OSX Lion only via the App Store (no CD), how do we have to install the Windows drivers on Bootcamp?
