Problem creating a database on RH 6.1 for O8.1.5i

Hi,
I am trying with Oracle8i but seems that I am doing something wrong. Please if somebody can look at this bug and let me know how to solve it.
I would appreciate it if you reply to ([email protected] with the answer!)
I follow the process of creating a database and then save the script. After that I follow the instructions to execute crdb1.sh, to create a database manually, but when I do that I get the attached error.

Looks like there is a problem with the 'log_archive_start'-parameter in you init.ora file. What you can try is to put a # in front of the parameter in the init.ora to make Oracle ignore it. When the database-creation is succesful you can then put your database in Archive log Mode.

  • Labview database problem: Create a database table from user defined fields

I am trying to create a new table in an access database opened by an ODBC connection from information entered a table stored in the database, but every time I try to create the table, the Labview Database connectivity toolkit VI for creating a table throws a cryptic error
"Exception occured in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in field definition. in NI_Database_API.lvlib:Conn Execute.vi->NI_Database_API.lvlibB Tools Create Table.vi->DatabaseCreateHeaders.vi"
I think this is becuase I am trying to re-create the database  column variable type, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  Everything seems to be fine as the data types go, and everything works as long as I use a constant to create the database columns.  I even tried putting all of the information into the format labview defined, changed that to a variant, and redefined it as the labview database column type.
I have attached a simplified VI and a picture of what I am trying to
do, but I would appreciate any help I can get.  Hopefully I won't have
pulled out all of my hair by the time some one replies!

Hi everyone. I am new to the database tool kit using labview. I am using labview 9.0f2 on Windows Xp. I am required to create a database (task is to create a table and to insert values into the table using Microsoft access 2007). I am trying to learn using the Create Database table.vi found with the software. I understand that need to create an access file and also had a mdl file which is name after it.(I had created them). Looking at the example given, I would like to add a few more variables, to be exact 6 more variables(therefore i would have 6 colum in my access file rite?). From the "connection information" the help information shows that it contain an 1D array of DB tools colum. ctl and also a cluster of 4 elements. the link to the access file, LabVIEW.udl shows that it restrict the colum in the access file.eg it has only stringcol, intcol, doublecol. I need to add more colum but cant add just like tt.
qn1: How to i add insert more varibles into the database so that it will apprears in access.
qn2: I cant drag and insert the "connection information" just to have more input. how do i do it?
qn3: where can i edit the info so that i can add more cluster into the access? when i drag out the input turn greyish.

  • Problem creating an IC Billing document in VF01 for a CC STO

    Dear,
We are experiencing problems once we try to create an (Intercompany) Billing document. We have a Cross-Company Stock Transport Order scenario in which Company code/Plant 1000/100 delivers Material X to Company code/Plant 2000/200.
We are now at the point where the Stock Transport Order (NB) has been delivered (by means of a Replenishment/Outbound Delivery) and posted Goods Issue, so we want to create an IC-Billing document (Billing Type IV) in VF01 for our Replenishment/Outbound Delivery. For that, we have first created a Condition (Condition type PI01 - Inter-company Price) for Material X with VK11.
Now the problems: once we run VF01, SAP comes up with a pricing error stating that condition PR00 is missing. For our scenario, PR00 makes no sense since Material X is a ROH being used in Plant 200 for production purposes, not sales.
We analyzed the error and it appears that Pricing procedure for IC-Billing ICAA01 is used. We checked on our Client 000 that ICAA01 is a standard Pricing procedure, set exactly in the same manner as in our own development-Client.
In customizing for Pricing procedure ICAA01 we ticked Condition PR00 as NOT mandatory (V_T683S-KOBLI) and retried VF01. But now, SAP states the following error message:
Conditions of category b are not permitted in company code 1000
    Message no. KM745
    Diagnosis
No multiple valuation approaches / transfer prices are active in company code 1000. The condition type you are using has condition category b.
    System Response
Conditions with category b are only permitted if transfer prices are active.
    Procedure
Use only condition types with condition categories other than 'b', 'c' or 'h'.
Further in the Pricing procedure ICAA01 we could not find Condition type PI01…
Our question is: what should we customize in order to solve this problem?
Thanks a whole lot in advance for any clues!!
    Kind regards,
    Bart Jongen

    Hi
    SAP 11
Please maintain CHAPTER ID of the said material with zero basic excise duty ( If u r not selling this material as a duty paid ) and select non movatable mateial. Parellaly u please maintain customer excise indicator as 0 no excise ( If this cutomer code is not lifting duty paid material for you).
This way u can create billing without excise.
    Please try.

Once I get to Configuration Tools - Oracle Database Configuration Assistant, there is an error ... NLS_LANG environment variable incorrectly defined. Remove the variable from the environment or set it to a correct value. I originally had NLS_LANG='english_united kingdom.we8iso8859p1' then I changed it to NLS='AMERICAN.AMERICA.US7ASCII', finally I completely removed the NLS_LANG variable - still I get the same error message. Any help would a greatly appreciated =)

  • Creating standby database using RMAN

When I'm creating standby database with RMAN command
'duplicate for standby' backups for creating standby database
have to be accessible from host where standby database
is created. I can copy the backups to standby host, or use
NFS to share the disk with backups to standby host.
But when I have backups in ASM diskgroup how can
I achieve it would be accessible from standby host?
    Thanks a lot for advice,
    M.

    OK, thanks,
I will create standby using Grid, but I have the following problem:
database instance is running on the host where I want
to create standby database. The running instance is for
testing purposes and has the same db_name, db_unique_name, db_domain
    parameters as in primary database.
I will change db_unique_name to be distinct from primary database one,
should I also change instance SID not to be the same in
testing database and standby on the same host, or when creating standby
database I can specify distinct one for standby database?

  • Creating new databases after latest security patch applied

    10.2.0.4
If I create a database AFTEr applying the opatch for the October 2009 security patch, do I need to also run:
    @catbundle.sql cpu apply
Or is it included in the create database? I use the DBCA to create new databases.

    user8574962 wrote:
This is what Oracle states on metalink doc id: 422303.1
Once the bundle patch or the Critical Patch Update (CPU) patch is applied on an ORACLE_HOME should you run post-installation scripts for every newly created Oracle database using the same ORACLE_HOME?
    Solution
This should be documented in the patch's README as the answer will vary with each patch.
If the patch's README is not documented, then the Post Install tasks should be run.
And this is what the OCTCPU09 README says:
3.3.3 Post Installation Instructions for Databases Created or Upgraded after Installation of CPUOct2009 in the Oracle Home
These instructions are for both non-RAC environments and RAC environments when a database is created or upgraded after the installation of CPUOct2009.
You must execute the steps in Section 3.3.2.1, "Loading Modified .sql Files into the Database" for any new database only if it was created by any of the following methods:
Using DBCA (Database Configuration Assistant) to select a sample database (General, Data Warehouse, Transaction Processing)
Using a script that was created by DBCA that creates a database from a sample database
Hope that helps.Point taken that it could vary by patchset, but those particular instructions quoted square exactly with what I had said. To quote with emphasis:
"You must execute the steps . . . for any new database *only if* it was created by any of the following methods . . ."
And what are those methods? Creating the database from a sample (pre-patch) database. If one uses dbca to create a 'custom' database, the resulting scripts will start from scratch with a CREATE DATABASE command - no pre-patch version sample or seed database involved.

  • Help with creating a database instance and populating it

the project given to me is to create a database and populate it in berkeley DB. use that as the backend to the Oracle Business Intelligence tool and run some tests.
with other databases like oracle, sybase and teradata, there were user interfaces both GUI and CLI to create a database. they provides sql interfaces for DDL/DML execution to create objects and populate them. basically these utilities helped me do my project successfully. but in berkeley DB i find very minimal utilities and they dont correspond to those provided by other databases.
is there an interface in berkeley db for sql execution
in general how do i create database and populate data in berkeley db
    thanks
    [email protected]

    Hi Prasanna,
is there an interface in berkeley db for sql executionNo, Berkeley DB does not provide an SQL interface. It is a library that can be used to store and retrieve key/data pairs in a database. The Berkeley DB reference guide is a good place to look if you want to get an overview of Berkeley DB functionality:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/toc.html
in general how do i create database and populate data in Berkeley db You generally need to write code to do that. There are a number of programming language bindings provided for Berkeley DB, including a Perl binding. So you can write your testing code in the Perl scripting language if that suits you.
If you intend to measure performance I would recommend using the C or C++ APIs to build your application. The best way to become familiar with using Berkeley DB is with the Getting started guides found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/index.html
Or by familiarizing yourself with the example applications that are shipped with the source distribution.

It's not common to create databases with Java. I'd say this is especially true of JSPs. You'll have to GRANT permission to access and create tables to every single user that comes in? Are those tables cleaned up when users are done, or does the number of tables grow as the number of users grows? One table per customer? Sounds more like session or cookies to me. Do you validate users to make sure that only authorized users can create tables? Lots of problems, and it doesn't appear that you've addressed any of this from the code you've posted.
It's a bad idea to have code like this in a JSP. Those are for view only. Better to put database code on the server side where it belongs.

  • The Critical Problems for Creating Standby Database

The Critical Problems for Creating Standby Database:(I want to create a physical standby database on the same system of the primary database)
    1. Should I copy all the backup datafiles, standby controlfile and password file to a same directory before the first time to mount the standby database?
    2. Before mounting the standby database, Should I change the datafile's name to a new one in the standby controlfile? How to change them?
    3. When issuing the command to mount the standby database, should I specify the controlfile's name.(using which controlfile to mount)
These problems are not clearly secified in Oracle documentations.

Can you point us to the Windows specific documentation you refer to?
The parameter DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT should take care of the new mapping for your datafiles (and LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT for logs), so you should be able to put them where you want and use the parameter to point Oracle to the correct location. You should not need to change the name in the controlfile.
Place your standby controlfiles where you have the control files defined in your parameter file and Oracle should recofgnise that it is a standby db. You should not need to specify which controlfiles to use (if this is even possible), your CONTROL_FILES init parameter points to them.
Not sure about the password file....my instances are on separate boxes and the password file has the same name on both primary and standby.
