Problem: duplication of non-modified originals

I have a problem where my camera (an old-ish Sony DSC-P150) doesn't export auto-rotation data, so any portrait-oriented shots need to be rotated 90 degrees. iPhoto recognises this rotation as a 'modification' and duplicates the shot. Clearly, duplicating at least 50% of my picture data chews up a lot of hard disk space, as I have over 3500 shots in the library.
In an attempt to get around this, I tried copying the pictures to the hard drive rather than importing directly to iPhoto. I then use Preview to sort the pictures and rotate them before importing to iPhoto.
However, iPhoto seems to pick up the rotation data that's been saved by Preview. This is where the problem comes in.
All the photos that are imported can be opened in the 'originals' folder in the correct orientation (i.e. if I've turned them through 90 degrees using Preview, they're saved as I left them). However, after importing, iPhoto seems to think that these photos are 'modified' and duplicates them anyway - even though I have not touched them in iPhoto.
I only use iPhoto for organising shots, and these duplicated rotations are using almost 5GB of my 80GB drive - which is a big percentage wasted on data that I don't want or need.
Is there any way around this? Can I force or trick iPhoto to 'forget' about the rotation data? Or am I stuck with 5GB of wasted space?
I've tried 'revert to original' and iPhoto first deletes all the rotated files in 'modified'... And then recreates them!

Graphic Converter... Wow, they still make that?! I can remember getting a version on a magazine's covermounted floppy disc... that was a while ago...
Thanks for this - I suspected that might be the case. Slightly fiddly but at least there's a way around it.
In the meantime, for the larger (modified) rolls in my library, I've gone back and used your suggestion of exporting a roll to a folder, deleting the roll, then re-importing the photos. Have clawed back over 1GB of hard drive so far.
Judging by other comments in the forums, it would be good if Apple included a 'replace original with modified' option in future releases of iPhoto. That way you could force original pictures to be over-written by their modified version, if you knew you definitely didn't want to go back. It would have to be handled as a destructive action, same as emptying the trash. It would be damned useful!

Problem releasing webservice for runtime in non-modifiable client

I created a webservice definition ( virtual interface & all dependent objects ) in a development client ( client- A ) of a ECC5.0 instance.
Now, we have another client ( client-B ) in the same server that we want to release the webservice for SOAP runtime. ( reason is that the webservice is not available at runtime in this client-B client )
This client-B has status - non-modifiable and hence cannot use WSCONFIG --> create option to release it for runtime.
How do we release this webservice definition to client - B . I tried a SCC1 transaction on client-B pointing to the transport that contains the WS definition in client-A. I got dictionary errors indicating that the WS definition objects are all client independent.
Is there something I am missing ? Any thoughts/similar experiences shared is appreciated.

Good to hear it worked out for you. But like I already said, I haven't experienced anything like this, but for similar problems this is exactly what we did to solve it. But you're probably right, that this is no long term solution. There should be another way of doing this, but no experience in that field expertise.

Schedule line in Scheduling Agreement non modifiable

Hi Friends,
I'm creating Scheduling Agreement with VA31. The issue is that Schedule line category is coming as non-modifiable. Is it standard that in Scheduling Agreement, you can not overwrite default schedule line category? In customizing for Assign Schedule line categories, Manual schedule line categories are defined, but still I can not overwrite Schedule line category in VA31. Pl suggest what can be the reason. I don't have any ABAPer at my rescue.

For Sch.Line Agreement for component suppliers,we cant change sch.line category as of normal sch.line agreement.
Based on MRP for Delivery Schedule Types (Field available in Header Data under SALES view) and item category,sch.line category will be determined.

Problem with the Non-English Characters

Hello,
I have been using Adobe Illustrator but I have a huge problem with the non-english characters with Standart Fonts. With the Professional font's I have no problem with them. But when I'm using any standart font in font folio library I cannot type any "ğ-İ-ş". I can add those letters in fontlab with the glyphs (scedilla, idotaccent, gbreve). Most of the fonts have those letters already prepeared so I dont even have to redraw. But I can't add those glyph to every single font because I dont have that kind of time and patience. Is there any better solution for this? Or is there any font folio pack that all fonts are PRO.

Exactly. The Pro fonts have at a minimum the Adobe Western 3 character set, which is essentially western European + Adobe CE.

Problems working with non drop and drop frame DVCPRO HD material in project

I am having playback problems with my non drop frame HDV material. It stutters.
All of our projects up to this point have been shot in drop frame. During our last shoot however the Bcam was recorded in non drop. I loaded both the non drop bcam tapes as non drop and the drop frame Acam tapes as drop. All of the drop frame Acam material plays back fine in the source viewer and the timeline. The non drop Bcam material seems to randomly stutter in the source viewer, or causes the system to serve a "dropped frames warning" in the timeline.
Is there a bug with fcp 5.1.2 about mixing non drop and drop frame material in a project. Or is this not possible? They are the same frame rate.
I have exported the non drop clips in a drop frame timeline and re-imported them as drop frame clips - thus correcting the problem. Is this the best solution?
All of the material was loaded thru a kona card as 1080i60 DVCPROHD 29.97
I had no problems capturing the material as long as I used the corrrect firewire setting (ndf vs df).
Anyone have a problem like this? I would greatly appreciate a response.

The camera can record 60i, and 30F:
"HDV 1080, 50i/60i/30F/25F Recording and Playback capable"
Look at the clips...look at their frame rates. What do they say? Is one 59.94? Is the other 29.97?
You would never need to render if you mixed NDF and DF footage. The footage runs at the same speed, on the TC numbers are different. But, you would need to render if your footage had different frame rates. LOOK AT THE CLIPS.

Problems with a non-BT product or service

I have just contacted BT as my down IP Profile has become 30% less than it should be over an approximately 6 month period. This is despite the fact that my line is surprising stable with an average up time of around 14 days and the main disconnection being BT induced profile resets.
I have had this issue three times before. The solution is 1 to 3 Openreach Engineer visits that find no fault and end up with a line reset to up the profile.
This time the Indian call centre rang me, tested the line and found no fault (as expected). They said because of this they could not do anything and suggested I contacted second line support.
I then received the following email

I am pleased to say that thanks to moderator intervention I was contacted by Kevin who arranged for an OR Engineer visit.
As expected no fault was found and after a line reset to restore my profile to what it should be (actually slightly better) my 30% drop was corrected.
It is fairly clear that if you have FTTC and a connection to the cabinet of 1200-1400metres then the DLM is happy to reduce your line speed but reluctant (if at all) to increase it. This means your profile decreases over time and has to have a manual reset.
The worrying development this time is that now when the helpdesk tests your line and finds line speed and profile match they assume you have a problem with a non-BT product or service where as previously they accepted that a 30% drop in profile was a BT Fault.

To make a SAP BW system non-modifiable you have to do at least the following:
1. TCODE SCC4 --> double-click on your client --> Changes and transports for Client-specific Objects should be set to No changes allowed.
2. TCODE SE06 --> click on System change option (you have to have the necessary authorization, or else you can not see the button at top) --> Set the global settings to non-modifiable (Be careful here: a. Software Component "LOCAL" has to have the status modifiable read more about it in the section about transports on help.sap.com. b. I will suggest that you take a snap shot of your settings before changing them to non-modifiable.)
3. Regarding your question about InfoPackages I will suggest that you watch Luis Orama's e-learning session about BW transports on this site. But a quick answer to your question is that this is possible.
TCODE RSOR (Transport Connections) --> Click on "Object Changeability".

Problem while extending and modifying the ISA B2B app on SAP J2EE 6.4

We are facing some problem with extending and modifying the ISA B2B 4.0 application.
First Let me clarify you the whole scenario.
Previously we had ISA B2B 4.0 SP03 deployed on SAP J2EE 6.20 Engine.
We had used eclipse 3.0 to extend and modify the application as NWDS does not support SAP J2EE 6.20.
We had used ant buildtool to build the modified application which comes along with the ISA Software Archive.
We had successfully done all the modifications and application was running fine...
Now we have upgraded the overall J2EE infrastructure and using J2EE 6.4 Engine which supports NWDS.
We have successfully deployed the ISA B2B application which comes along with the Support Package.
We are using Support Package ISAWAC40SP11P_7-20000529.SAR E-Selling 640. The application is working fine after all
the configuration done in XCM and SAP CRM 4.0 system.
Now for modification and extension i have created another b2b enterprise archive with name "b2b_client.ear" using ant buildtool.
I've done the modification and extension .. added some Z classes and JSP pages. Now when i try to deploy the application using
SDM 6.40, I got an error message stating
"com.sap.sdm.util.sduread.IllFormattedSduFileException: The archive must be deployed with a 6.20 SDM, which has a SDM-SDA compatible version 1 or greater."
I think this error is due to the incompatible sda_build.xml used in the build process but we have used the same xml file bundled with the above mentioned ".sar" file..
Please help or suggest someone who can help me out from this...

First, you need to specify the fully qualified class name of your based-RequestProcessor class in the config.xml file like

processorClass="com.mycompany.struts.framework.MyRequestProcessor"/>
If you review the source code of the ActionServlet and RequestProcessor classes, you can see that overwritten methods (by you) are executed every time the client makes a request to the struts based application.
I hope you can run your approach. And it will be excellent you can shared how you will do it.

Client Settings non modifiable for ob52, ob58 etc

Certain objects in the IMG need to be modifiable in all our clients, specifically transaction OB58 (maintain financial statement version).
Currently, any updates to the standard financial statement (for example, when a new G/L account is created and it does not fall in an existing range) have to be made in the config client and transported across. However, the Financial statement version is not real config, nor is it master data, and we should be able to update it as and when G/L accounts are created.
We can do this in Production but not in our QA clients (it says the client is non modifiable), Production client is also non modifiable but the client role is 'Production', so I presume this client role allows the changes in the operation client.
Is there anyway to modify these in a client that is non modifiable such as our QA and testing clients with making the client modifiable?
We are running ECC 5 on NW04.

Client non-modifiable Warning while execution of RFC

When we execute the RFC in our Test server, I am get following warning. This function module is trying to update the HR infotype data. As this is Test client, it is non-modifiable (from config point of view).
But why its throwing warning, when we change masterdata? Same thing is working fine in Production Server which is also non-modifiable. Please suggest the solution - Regards, Vinod

Price in non modifiable mode after GR

Currently we can change the Basic Price of the material even after the Goods receipt of the material is done. I want that after the GR the basic price must come in non modifiable form.
It must come in modifiable mode , when we completely cancelled the GR.

In customization u can control the PO screen layout , thr u can make the price field as only display mode.
Then the price field in PO will only be in display mode u cant change it.
But the requirement u r asking can be achived i guess by ABAPer so contact ur development to make the changes in program accordingly

Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer.

Plant non-modifiable in Sales Order

We create Sales Order with reference to Contract. We enter Plant and Batch in the Contract. Now our requirement is that we want that Plant and Batch fields should be non-modifiable in Sales Order. How can we achieve this through std. config? If it is not possible through std. config then how can we do it through development? I know how to achieve this requirement through following things:
1. MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT
2. SHD0
But isnu2019t it possible through std. config.?

If the same website is opening each time you launch a browser (Safari?) hold down the shift key as you launch to prevent previous pages from opening.
Have a look at your settings in Safari > Preferences. Especially General and Privacy.
Reset Safari to remove cookies and other stored data.
System Preferences > General
Have a look at your settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
