Problem enabling Verbose GC in Hyperion services

In the Windows environment, we have for Hyperion, we start and stop Hyperion services through Microsoft Services application. So in this Microsoft Services application, we are referring to Hyperion delivered .exe files which start or stop the service based on users request. These .exe files do not refer to any of the webblogic configuration files during startup, they just invoke their configurations from the .exe file. Also Oracle only delivers .exe files for those services and no code related to building those .exe files.
Now my problem is that, I have to enable verbose GC for all the services so we can use that information for debugging OutOfMemory issues. For enabling verbose GC, I have added necessary commands in setDomainEnv.cmd file, but those changes arent getting picked up becuase when we start those services, it refers to the .exe file and that does not invoke any of the web server configuration files. So can you please tell me, how Oracle builds those .exe file and how to embed the Verbose GC commands into those files and build the new .exe file which we can refer to for start/stop the service.
I appreciate you taking time to read this and please throw any ideas or question you have for me.
Thanks,
Chaitanya Kosaraju

  • Cannot enable "Apple Mobile Device" in Services for Windows 7 64-bit. Please Help!

    Hi,
    First post here, but I've been trying to figure out a solution towards iTunes opening my iPhone 4 so I can sync it. But every time I sync it, it gives me a message saying "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started".
    To try and resolve this, I tried the enabling "Apple Mobile Device" in services method, but when I try to start the service again, I get yet another message from Windows saying "The Apple Mobile Device service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs".
    At a first glance, I thought I needed iTunes to be running my iPhone whilst I try to turn the service on, but all I get is the same message saying "The Apple Mobile Device service on Local Computer......", either if the device is connected and attempting to run or not.
    This problem appeared out of nowhere when I plugged it in, just to sync some songs and pictures to it. So I don't know what's causing this issue!
    And yes, I uninstalled iTunes 10.4.1 and Apple Mobile Device and then reinstalled them. But the issue still continued. Grrr......
    It has lasted a stressful 3 days now and if anyone knows a solution or can find one, please let me know as soon as possible.
    Many thanks,
    Martin.

    Hi.
    I encountered the same problem. In my case, the reason was that I created a new user for BAM (to be provided when installing BAM) but ran the installation under another user account. It seems like these users must be the same to make it work.

  • GenericServiceFactory initialization problem when trying to load Web servic

    Hi,
    I am making a Guided procedure that calls a webservice. I have created a new Destination Template and was able to load the webservice definition successfully, but when I test the callable object I created for that same webservice y get the error:
    GenericServiceFactory initialization problem when trying to load Web service model for WSDL.
    Somehow I think there is something wrong with the user authentication. The Destination template has a user and password but somehow I think the callable object test is not using this information at all.
    Can anyone help ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Hans,
    Have you verified if you can call any external web service calls from your J2EE engine?  Go into the SOA Management / Global settings (if you are on CE - if you're on 7.0 it's in manage WS desintations).
    Look at your proxy settings and set them like your web browser that enables external calls.  For example, in the SAP network I set my global proxy settings on my local J2EE engine to be:
    Proxy host:  proxy
    Proxy port: 8080
    Exclude list:  *.sap.corp
    Does that make sense - have you verified if your settings are correct for your company?

    Let's rule out the easier stuff first...
    Do you have something shared?
    I think you need to have something shared before you can enable the nfs server service.
    Or, if you share something, the service is started automatically. See below.

  • Hyperion Services Manager

    Hi,
    I wanted to know if any of you is aware of a utility called Hyperion Services Manager. If I am correct it was developed by the Hyperion Developer Network. Can anyone tell me how I can get this utility?
    Shehzad

    I made a primitive .net application as well but it was more of a waste of time, since everytime i'd think of a different scenario and then change the code. It wasn't that comprehensive. I think with V11 the service startup sequence shouldn't be a problem (although I haven't worked with V11 so can't be sure about that).
    As far as the monetization goes, I'm not sure how viable this application would be, but I'd be glad to collaborate with you and get a product up and running.

    Test if you can access the generic WSDL using a browser
    http://server:port/orawsv?wsdlYou should get prompted for a username and password. If you provide the username and password of a database user who was been granted the Web Services Roles you should see the query service WSDL

  • Problem getting parameter  values at the service end point

    I am having problem getting parameter values at the service end point. I created service end point and this method is having 35 parameters and then i created test client file using Sun One Studio 5. but when i run this test client and make a call to service it sends wrong value to first three parameters to the service end point. I tried all the way round but it gave me same sort of problem. I change the order of parameters change the names of parameters but it didnt work. And then i started chopping of parameter from the left side. And my problem is solved when my parameter list reached to 12 from 35. So is it a bug or some problem with my configuration or some thing else.
    I am using sun one studio 5 with sun one app 7. My service end point does very simple thing. It only takes out put of the parameter to the server log file. And my wsdl file seems all right. There is no conflict with the count and data type of the parameter information it contains.

    I just found that there is a bug with Sun One Studio 5. It creates faulty JSP file to test the client for the web services. With above problem I tested my web services using different developing environment such as Jdeveloper 10g. I created client stub using wsdl file generated by sun one studio. And made call to my web service and all the parameter reached perfectly at service end point. And then I used stub class created by sun one studio for the client and made the same call. And it also went well. So the problem is with the test application (JSP File) sun one creates for my web service.
    This is the majore problem i faced during the development. But still there is many problem along with this which is not seriouse enough but requires attension. I would like sun developers to make sun one studio IDE simpler and handy .

  • Exposing an RFC enabled function as a Web Service in Minisap

    Hi all,
    i'm trying to expose an RFC enabled function as a Web Service in my Minisap installation. Everything works fine, until i actually want to finish the Web Service wizard. It always quotes that the object can only be deployed in an sap paket. If i try to put it in the $TMP paket, by marking it as a local object, i always get the message that test objects can not be deployed in external pakets.
    Any idea?
    Furthermore the virtual interface with the name i selected in the Web Service wizard seems to exist, at least i can not try to deploy the Web Service again with the same name. Actually, i also can't find a place where i can delete the virtual interface. Any hint on that issue is also appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    /Marc

    I wanted to write a web service adapter:
    @WebService
    public class MyWebService implements StreamSender {
         private StreamSender eventSender;
         @WebMethod
         public void echo(String msg) {
              eventSender.sendInsertEvent(new MyEvent(msg));
    After deploying I've got NullPointerException, eventSender is null. This is because MyWebService instance is NOT on the spring context, since it was created by jetty via reflection.
    So now I'm trying another approach. I want to inject an adapter from the spring context into the web service:
    I wanted to write a web service adapter:
    @WebService
    public class MyWebService {
         private MyWSAdapter myAdapter;
         @Resource
         private WebServiceContext context;
         @WebMethod
         public void echo(String msg) {
              myAdapter = getMyAdapterFromSpringContext();
              myAdapter.sendInsertEvent(new MyEvent(msg));
         public MyWSAdapter getMyAdapterFromSpringContext() {
              ServletContext sc = (ServletContext) context.getMessageContext().get(MessageContext.SERVLET_CONTEXT);
              ApplicationContext springContext = WebApplicationContextUtils.getWebApplicationContext(sc);
              return (MyWSAdapter) springContext.getBean("myWSAdapter");
    So far i'm getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError for org.springframework.web.context.support.WebApplicationContextUtils (org.springframework.spring-web_2.5.6.jar), and trying to figure out where is the jetty classpath.

  • "There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup"

    I currently have an iPad 2, and my husband has an iPod Touch (not sure of the generation - its about a year old). As of tomorrow, we'll both have iPhone 4S's.    We both use my iTuned account for purchasing apps and music. I've finally got iOS 5 up and running on my iPad, with iCloud linked to my iTunes account.  I've got my husband's iPod Touch updated with iOS 5. I set it up with his old iTunes account, and put my iTunes account into the 'Store' part of the settings, as the 'Apple IDs and iCloud' document suggested to do. But when I try to set his iPod Touch to backup to iCloud, I get the following error: "iCloud Backup Failed. There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup."
    Any suggestions?  Am I misunderstanding how I'm supposed to be doing this?  It's not a huge deal with the iPod Touch, but I want to get this figured out before tomorrow, so that I can set it up so that my iPad and iPhone both sync to one iCloud account, and his iPod Touch and iPhone sync to a different one.

    @uzagaku yes this works, and that's the only way to re-enable iCloud backup actually. No need to disable encryption, that's only for further local backups. But thanks for pointing out to that iCloud setting in iCloud .. I should have looked there immediately, obviously. As soon as it's activated there, the setting syncs on iOS. Remains that enabling iCloud backup from iOS should of course be possible, so there's still a huge bug there.

  • How to enable TCP Wrappers with SMF services?

    I am using a site.xml file to enable/disable services during a Jumpstart configuration. This works great.
    However, I can't yet figure out how to configure the various properties of those services, such as enabling TCP Wrappers for a service. I can set the properties of a service and verify that they are set, but a "svccfg extract" does not capture that information.
    Is this a short coming of svccfg extract? Or are the properties of a service stored and configured elsewhere?

    That will work, as will any path underneath
    /var/svc/manifest.Got it working...Exported the inetd configuration, set tcp_wrappers to false, dropped inetd.xml into my jumpstart tree, jumped a box, and tcp_wrappers came up enabled by default for my inetd services!
    What is the difference between the /var/svcs/profile and /var/svcs manifest directory? Is profile for enabling/disabling services and manifest for service configuration?
    Does /var/svcs/profile/site.xml and /var/svcs/manifest/whatever.xml get read on every system boot? If not, what is the appropriate procedure to "reinitialize" smf if you want to change the existing behaviour by having it reread those files?
    Hmm. The defaults get written on the inetd serviceI believe, so exporting that would give you the
    fragment
    you want.It did, and I was able to accomplish what I needed to do.
    Sorry that it's such a slog in the meanwhile.Will there be something before FCS in a couple weeks?
    I can definetly see the managability and robustness of SMF. It's just going to take time to learn it, and documentation is needed for that.
    Thanks for all your help!

  • Problem in stubbing out Soap Web Service

    Hi,
    I have a problem stubbing out a SOAP web service in Flash Builder 4.  The problem is that not all the classes are created.  This happens when a base class is referenced by a method in the schema.  The classes that extends the base class do not get created.
    Here is an example: method doSomething returns a class called ResponseBase.  Even though MyResponse, which extends ResponseBase, is in a xsd which is referenced by the WSDL, MyResponse class is not created as value objects.
    Another example is: method doSomething takes a parameter called ParamClass.  ParamClass contains a property of type SomeClassBase.  MyClass which extends SomeClassBase is not created even though it is defined in an xsd.
    Does that sound like a limitation of the Flash Builder 4?  Is there another way to create the proxy classes from a web service?
    Thanks,
    Ming

    Sekar,
    I have the same problem.
    How did you change your web service as Anonymous?
    I have a user id and pwd, i tried by appending end of the service and tried with basic authentication by passing uid and pwd. No luck.
    Can you please help me how to change web service as anonymous?
    Regards,
    Sridhar
