Problem getting radio "on" and log in (with Microsoft 7) slow

I just bought a Lenovo T510 and had my company MIS expert get it ready for me. I used it for two days and am now having trouble logging in. It is very very very slow and when it finally loads to a screen I am receiving a pop up message (bottom right) saying "Failed to connect to Window Service". Also, when I try and connect to a wireless system it reports Radio "off". When I try and hit "on" it will not respond and change it from "off". 
 I dont know how to fix myself - my MIS guy cant help until Tuesday. I want to use theservice over weekend. Any sugestions? Mary 

I think you can try to perform the complete uninstall process.  This procedure differs from the usual uninstall as this will remove/delete almost all traces of Skype in your computer.  This will allow you to re-install a fresh copy of Skype in your computer, and possibly fix the problems you are currently experiencing.  Please visit the link below on how to backup your files and how to do the complete uninstall process.

    Before buying a second-hand computer, you should have run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, whichever is applicable.
    The first thing to do after buying the computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You—not the original owner—must do that. Changes made by Apple over the years have made this seemingly straightforward task very complex.
    How you go about it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    It's unsafe, and may be unlawful, to use a computer with software installed by a previous owner.
    1. If you don't own another Mac
    a. If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller—not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine is very old and has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
    b. If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for a MacBook Air. You should have received the media from the original owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
    To start up from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then restart the computer and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
    c. If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should start up in Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    d. Some 2010-2011 models shipped with OS X 10.6 and received a firmware update after 10.7 was released, enabling them to use Internet Recovery. If you have one of those models, you can't reinstall 10.6 even from the original media, and Internet Recovery will not work either without the original owner's Apple ID. In that case, contact Apple Support, or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to have the OS installed.
    2. If you do own another Mac
    If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to prepare a USB device, then start up the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can start from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
    3. Partition and install OS X
    a. If you see a lock screen when trying to start up from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
    b. Launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive—not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the  Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
    c. An unusual problem may arise if all the following conditions apply:
              OS X 10.7 or later was installed by the previous owner
              The startup volume was encrypted with FileVault
              You're booted in Recovery mode (that is, not from a 10.6 installation disc)
    In that case, you won't be able to unlock the volume or partition the drive without the FileVault password. Ask for guidance or see this discussion.
    d. After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. If you're installing a version of OS X acquired from the App Store, you will need the Apple ID and password that you used. When the installation is done, the system will automatically restart into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
    e. Run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the original owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed—you have to repurchase them.
    4. Other issues
    a. If the original owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're irrevocably linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
    b. If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
    c. When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a lifetime limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an iCloud account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information. The setup limit doesn't apply to Apple ID accounts used for other services, such as the iTunes and Mac App Stores, or iMessage. You can create as many of those accounts as you like.

Do not get strung along like I did by calling in and letting them try to fix anything-they are there to make sure you get past your 14 day return period so you are locked into a new 2 year contract and can’t take back any of the accessories you bought for your product. If your product does not work out of the box, RETURN IT IMMEDIATELY, do not call in for tech support and take back any accessories you bought for the product as it also has the 14 day policy too. First off let me say that as far as the PHONE SERVICE, it has been great…however…here is what I have experienced with the 3G Droid Bionic and Verizon. I decided to get the Droid Bionic 4G since they are supposed to have 4G service in my area. It’s either their service or the product that is not 100% 4G like my 3G HTC Imagio is 100% 3G, the so called "4G" Bionic flips in and out. I can’t count how many hours I’ve been on the phone with techs at Verizon and Moto but each time, they all had something different to say, but nothing ever worked and if it did, it didn’t work for long before it went back to the same flip flop. There were several other issues as well but too many to list, but one is that when I was tethered and would get a notification it disconnected from the internet...NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN. I had a specific need for the 4G and since it doesn’t work, I don’t NEED it. The biggest lie I bought into is that MOTO is/was supposed to release a software update that is supposed to fix the flip flop 3G to 4G. I talked to a tech tonight at Verizon that was honest enough to tell me that if there was one that was going to be released (within my 14 day period) that they would have been notified of that. Well guess what, he doesn’t have any notices. But every person I talked to at Verizon said there was going to be an update, is it another one of those…no one knows their butt from a hole in the grown or was he telling the truth. Well it makes sense now that when I was talking with the second level tech at MOTO he didn’t know what the heck I was talking about. There’s your proof that the people you call and talk to at Verizon are devious, deceptive jerks and are only out to make money off us and could really care less that you just spent a bundle of money on a piece of cow dung and that their only goal is to keep you tied into the 2 year contract. After talking with the last tech at Verizon that told me there was no notification of a software update coming from MOTO or at least not in the next two weeks, I decided to take back all my accessories to the Verizon store in my area and return the Bionic tomorrow. But guess what, unlike the rest of America where the return policies are 30 days, Verizon also changed the return policies on the accessories too. So I’m stuck with over $100 of “STUFF” that cannot be used on any other phone. My bad, I didn’t have my reading glasses, look 12 inches down the long small print page to see that it said 14 days, when I bought the “STUFF” and I didn’t know that Verizon’s changes applied to the accessories in there stores too. Why is this and issue because Verizon did have me buy another Bionic phone under a new 14 day policy but because I didn’t realize that same policy applied to the hardware at their local stores, I’m stuck with the “STUFF”. Guess what Verizon; you devious, deceptive jerks, what goes around comes around. You are going to get to know me real well in the coming days, weeks, months and years; I’m going to picket until the freakin cows come home and hopefully get on the local news channels too. I’m going to hopefully create a nationwide movement that will either ruin your company or force you to restore the 30 day policy and I don’t care if you try to sue me that will be even better as it will draw even more attention. Money is hard to come by these days and I’ll not let you screw me over like this and get away with it. Because you are treating your customers like cow dung, I WILL NEVER extend my contract again; when this contact ends I’m switching to another cell provider.     Click here and follow the instructions. If the computer originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, when you reach step 5, insert its original disk, restart with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.

    I'm using a pc, (windows 8.1,) and I cannot get a thick and thin line with CS6. I want to draw, but I cannot get any linework like I should. I also use Sketchbook Pro, and ToonBoom, and I get wonderful linework. But not with Photoshop.

    I am not doing it in ITunes, but i did down load the song from ITunes.  I loaded the song on to my Nano, but in my menu selections it doesn't show the song or the artist in any search format.  However, when i plug in my nano to my PC I see the Nano library on my PC drive listings and that song and artist are there.  I can click on the song and it will play in Windows media on my work PC.  I did notice that the format for most all the songs in my library on my Nano are MPEG - 4 audio Files.

I do see the microsoft partion.
    I also rebooted holding down the shift key and still no Snow Leopard
    Could you please tell me what I can do, what keys do I press on restart any advice to get Snow leopard back.

    Have you restarted holding down the Opt key?  That procedure should give you a gray screen with all of the partitions that exist.  Then select the SL partition for boot.  Also go to System Preferences and Startup Disk, unlock the lock and select the SL partition as the default boot partition, then relock.

  • I changed my appleID and primary email and now I can not access anything. iphone shows my old appleID and I can't log in with my old password but I can not log out and log in with new ID. How do I get iphone to work with my updated ID?

    My old nternet account was cancelled and with it my emails. I updated my apple id and password in all my devices (ipad, iphone, imac, except for my moms iphone. I am trying to log out from my old account and set her up with her own apple ID and iCloud etc but it does not let me log out. I have a notebook with all my passwords in it so I know for a fact the password for the old ID/ email is correct yet a window keeps popping up that it is incorrect. I have spent hours reading and trying to fix it myself and nothing is working, same window keeps popping up. Any ideas on what to do?     Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.
    iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

    Change your Apple ID temporarily
    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:

    Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.

    Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

    The point is I find it easy to learn by doing "practical

    I have been reading the David Powers's Book on PHP Solutions
    and it's really great, however there is nothing mentioned regarding
    Validating Radio buttons. I know the book cannot cover every aspect
    of PHP and maybe someone in here can help.
    I have been learning how to process HTML forms with PHP.
    The problem is every book or tutorial I have read or
    encountered fall short on validation.
    I'm wondering how I can learn to validate Radio Buttons and
    Select List Menu.
    I have managed to create validation for all other fields but
    have no clue as to how I can get validation for Radio Buttons and
    List Menu.
    I would also like an error message echoed when the user does
    not click a button or make a selection and try to submit the form.
    I would appreciate any help.

    It's not that default value is "None." In fact it's not. It
    will only be
    "none" when the form is submitted.
    Also if your submit button is names 'send' then
    $_POST['send'] will only be
    set if the form was submitted.
    Make sure you didn't hit the refresh button on your browser
    which usually
    reposts the information. Also make sure you did not reach the
    form from
    another form with the same button names.
    Otherwise paste the snippet.
    Also you can check what fields are set in the post array by
    adding this to
    the top of (or anywhere on) your page:

  • Problem integrating Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7 with MDBs

    All:
    I would really appreciate an answer to this question.
    Background:
    - We are using Oracle 9i and Weblogic 7
    - I have an MDB that receives a message, then in the onMessage(Message) method
    performs a findByPrimaryKey(String).
    Problem:
    The deployment descriptors and the MDB all work fine when I set them up to query
    against a Pointbase database and deploy to Weblogic. Everything worked fine. But
    this was only a test to see if everything would work.
    I now need to query against an Oracle database. I got the updated version of the
    Oracle Thin Driver and put it in the WL_HOME/server/lib/classes12.zip file. I
    even added it to the beginning of the classpath in the startWeblogic.cmd file.
    But am still having problems.
    To test the just the Oracle connection I double checked the user, password, URL,
    and driver settings in a java file using JDBC connections - and they worked fine.
    They just aren't working when integrated into Weblogic.
    The problem lies in the Weblogic 7 server integration with Oracle 9i. The software
    integrated fine when tables from a Pointbase database were queried. The only changes
    made have been to make the connectivity to Oracle.
    My errors are in the attached myserver.log file. If anyone knows if this is a
    known problem or what the problem is please let me know.
    Just FYI my settings are as follows:
    Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.6.10:1521:proType1
    user=protype1
    password=protype1
    Any advice is welcomed! I've tried everything I can think of.

  • HT4191 Notes getting mixed up and or replaced with other users i-phone?

    For some reason whenever I sync my i-phone 4s and my wife syncs her i-phone 4 to itunes on our laptop which is a compaq(I don't know if that might be a problem) by the way, some of her notes always gets deleted and gets replaced with my notes, and she'll have just a couple of her notes but most of mine. It's been driving us crazy for months now cuz we can't figure it out! Do we need to sync our phones on different computers? Is there a setting that I'm missing? What are we doing wrong????

    Contacts 7.1 replaces one contact's Notes with another contact's Notes
    Summary:
    This issue's significance is severe because data is permanently lost: After searching for contacts and editing one of the contact's Notes, all found contacts' Notes are replaced with the changed contact's Notes.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Launch the Contacts 7.1 app in OSX 10.8.2.
    2. Search for a string that appears in several contacts' Notes field.
    3. Click on one of the contacts in the search results.
    4. Ensure that "Edit Card" mode is NOT enabled.
    5. Alter the found string in the contact's Notes field.
    6. Click on a different contact in the search results list.
    Expected Results:
    The change is saved and the changed contact disappears from the search results list.
    Actual Results:
    All found contacts disappear from the search results list, and all found contacts' Notes are replaced with the changed contact's Notes.
    Regression:
    This issue did not exist in OSX 10.7's Address Book app. I have not had the opportunity to test earlier releases of OSX 10.8's Contacts app.
    Notes:
    Example:
    Suppose a search for "P1" finds three contacts:
      Name: Alan  |  Note: Ask permission. P1
      Name: Betsy  |  Note: Backup files. P1
      Name: Charles  |  Note: Call. P1

    Try to delete the shared.xml file used by Skype.
    Exit Skype : From the system tray >> right click on the skype icon and click Quit
    Press WinKey + R to open the Run window
    WinKey (the button is located between the left Ctrl and Alt with the Windows logo)
    type: %appdata%\skype and press Enter
    Delete the shared.xml file.
    Restart Skype.

  • Problems opening project if I 'log on' with new id

    Someone told me that my problem may be fixed if I logged on as a new user. I assume because they thought the problem might go away if I did so. But now when I'm logged on as a new user, I can't open the project. I get the forever beach ball???
    Maybe I'm just not waiting long enough, but it seems to be crashing my system.

    The log in as a different user manuever is intended to determine if the FCP application itself , not any particular project, is at issue. This manuever involves only logging in as a different user and then starting FCP. If you get an un named project and normal start-up, that tells you at least that FCP is working OK. In turn that informs you that the preferences used as the "real" user may be the problem. If the project you are working on is not available to the "different" user and the different user tries to open it,an assignment that has to be made in advance of the switch, you could get a beachball and learn very little. You would have to make all components of the project(everything) available to the different user to try to start the project.
    But the search for problems within projects are not revealed in this manuever.
