Problem in changing the Business Area?

Hi,
I have a discoverer report where the eul folders are in one business are. Now I need to change the business area. By manage folder option I can do that.
Now my query is as the business are is changed for the folder what should I do for the workbook. Do I need to recreate it because the business area definitions are changed.
Could anyone please help....

Hi,
You don't need to change the workbook at all. However, make sure the business area security is correct so that the workbook owner can still access the folder. The workbook references the folder and so the folder will be shown in the new business area when you inspect the workbook items.

    It's possible to change BA only if the option "Time-independent" is checked" in customizing for AA:

  • Change of Business Area in Cost Center

    Hi,
    We want to change the business area for the existing cost center from next fiscal year.
    Suppose i have a cost center 1001ADM with Business area 1000 and validity time is 01.04.2007 to 31.12.2999.
    Now i want to change the business area to 2000 for the existing cost center 1001ADM with effect from 01.04.2008.

    Hi,
    Changing the business area is possible.  Go to KS02> Menus> Analysis period --> Give the new analysis period for which you want to change the field business area.
    Now give the new business area.  you will get a message changing this field will take time to check the dependent data.  Give 'Yes'.  It will check all the depending data and then change the field for the new analysis period.

  • Change of business area in direct table entry

    Hello All,
                 We are trying to change the business area in table MSEG by direct table entry through se16n.
                 But i am getting the error "GL account XXXXXXX not fouind in table SKA1."However when i check the table SKA1,entry XXXXXXX exists in table SKA1.The company has decided to change its policy and therefore they want to change the business area..Please tell me the procedure so that i can change the business area.

    Hi Pravin,
    First of all, do not change the values directly in tables.
    You want to change Business Area in MSEG but at the time document entry there may be other tables where this entry might have gone. So you need to identify all the tables before you do the change. Hence it is better to consult FI/CO team to find the solution from funtional side.
    However, still if you need to change the value then look for the GL A/C in table SKB1. Since SKB1 is company code dependent data you have to check if the said GL exists or not in company code contained in MSEG.

    Hi Everybody i'm Charmaine Leena Martin freshly certified  FICO consultant , this is my first thread i'm posting, please help me with the same.
    A wrong business area has been assigned to a cost center and postings have taken place in the same.
    while using t-code KS02: change cost center , for rectifying the business area , i get the following error:
    "Field change business area is not possible (transaction data exists)"
    so i've created a new cost center and assigned it the right business
    and using t-code kb61 : i have posted the documents to the new cost center
    at that time system generates a co-document automatically:
    But the accounting document of which transfer postings have taken place still shows old business area and cost center
    Please let me know why is it so ,
    and what has to be done with the CO document that gets posted automatically
    and is there any other way out of changing the business area without creation of new cost center

    Do KB11N to post the cost back to the Wrong cost center
    Do an FI Posting again Dr the Correct new cost center and Cr the Old wrong cost center
    This will match both FI and CO

    But my client wants to do the same in standard T-code of AS02 and they don't like to use the customized T-code.

  • Interface getting failed after changing the Business system to that service

    Hello All,
    Our Env... is XI 3.0 and this is related to produciton env.
    Based on our client requirment to change the business system from client 871 to 100 for  one of the R3 system which is reciever type(rfc).
    After doing all the necessary changes , that particular service is getting failed and in the CC monitoring for that service I can see the log as "RFC_ERROR_LOGIN_FAILURE" mandate 871 (earlier client) does not exist in  the system.
    The steps which I have followed to change the Business system.
    1>I loged into the SLD of PRD system and clicked on businsess landscape .then i have clicked on the specified system to be changed (RY1 ) and then clicked on change mode and selected the required client (100) and saved the settings.
    2>I have logged into ID(Integration Directory) and selected the service (RY1) which need to be changed .Under service -->Adaper specific -->compare sld configurations and then clicked on apply changes.
    3>Now selected that communication channel of service (RY1) RFCRecieverR3 and changed the client 871 to 100 and the password of user XIRFCUSER ...
    Then i saved the changes and after that i have activated that interface.
    After that when i logged into CC monitoring and viewed that service channels and see the following errors:
    Receiver channel 'RFCReceiverR3' for party '', service 'RY1'
    Error can not instantiate RfcPool caused by:
    com.sap.aii.af.rfc.RfcAdapterException: error initializing RfcClientPool:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.repository.RfcRepositoryException: can not connect to destination system due to: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Mandante 871 não existente no sistema (selecionar mandante existente)
    Can any one help me out of this situation , and i need to fix this ASAP as this is production system.

    Thanks for the update,
    Let me say few points  about this particular problem:
    1>The interface "XX" from XI sends data to two systems( R3 -->RP1 & RY1), some thing like branched (same data is passed to both the reciever systems).
    And the second RY1 is copy of First system RP1 (Production sys) which is used for data loading purpose and every week there will be a refresh from First sys (RP1) to Second(RY1).
    2>Now the first sys(RP1) is recieving the data successfully from XI , and the second one (RY1) is getting failed .And this started after changing the Business system 871 to 100 .
    3>As mentioned by you , I have checked all the points mentioned
        i)In SM59 for XI (ABAP part) two rfc's are maintained (LCRSAPRFC & SAPSLDAPI) and the test connection is also fine...But I did not find these two connections in reciever systems(RP1 & RY1 too).
       ii)In reciever system RY1 ,when i went to RZ70 , i did not noticed any special settings and SLD Bridge :Gateway Information is not maitained over there .and the same thing in other reciever system(RP1) , with this can we confirm that there is nothing wrong in RZ70 settings.
       iii)In SLDAPICUST at recievers end for both systems nothing is mantained , where as in XI system all the details are maintained(Host name,port, user & password).
    I have translated the error log into english from the CC monitoring for this interface which is in portuguese language .
    It says that:
    RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: 871 Mandante not in the system (select principal existing)
    Kindly advise me what to do ..for fixing this problem(this is pretty urgent and it is production env...)..

  • Removing the business area from the WBS element

    Hi Experts,
    I have created the WBS element with business area. Then created the PR against that WBS element , converted the PR's to PO's.
    Now I want to remove the business area from WBS element.
    Now as Business area field become grayed out hence I canot remove the Business area from WBS element.
    Hence I have cancelled the PO's then Cancelled the PR's. So now there is no actual cost & no commitment exists against the WBS element.
    But still Business area field is grayed out for that WBS element.
    Could you please let me know how to remove the business area in this case ???

    Hi,
    Once BA is grayed out then you can not change the same, this is sap std. behavior. Here you can lock the existing wbse which having wrong BA to avoid further actual postings.
    Create new wbse with correct BA & then create pr & po.

  • I am not able to see the Business area in Discoverer desktop

    I am new to Discoverer
    I have created a business area in EUL with user name and password as dewip/dewip in Discoverer administrator and now when I am logging in to Discoverer Desktop with the same user name and password to create workbook I am able to log in but I am not able to find the Business area in the Discoverer desktop.
    After creating the business area do we need to do anything ( We don't even have save option to save also).
    In Discoverer admin -> tools-> privilages I checked to see the privilages for this user ,but I could not see this user name(dewip) only.
    Please help me ,its urgent.

    If you are working on Desktop and you change the default EUL but it doesn't stick this means that you don't have Admin rights over your machine.
    In order to make these setting stick you need to have permission to update the system registry.
    If you really cannot be given these rights then I suggest you ask you system admin to change the registry setting for you on your machine so that it reflects the correct EUL. You will find it here:
    1. From the Start button, use Run | regedit
    2. Open your registry to display HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | Oracle | Discoverer 10
    3. Expand the folder called Database
    4. Inside here you will see one set of settings that begin with AEUL and another with UEL. The format is like this:
    AEUL_username_database and UEUL_username_database
    5. You should see the name of the default EUL in the column called Data
    6. Right-click on the setting you want to change and from the pop-up select Modify
    7. Type the name of the EUL that Desktop should default to for that user in the database, making sure you type it in UPPERCASE
    8. Click the OK button
    9. Close the registry
    When you now connect to Discoverer Desktop you should be in the correct EUL.
    Note: this is only required if you don't have admin rights on your PC. If you do have admin rights then Discoverer will set this for itself.
    By the way, if you or anyone reading this is unsure about manually editing your registry you should back it up first. Here are the steps:
    To backup your registry, follow this workflow:
    1. From your PC, click Start | Run
    2. In the Run dialog box, type "regedit" and press the Enter key
    3. The registry will now be displayed
    4. From the registry menu bar, select Registry | Export Registry File
    5. When the Export Registry File dialog box opens, give a name to the file you want the registry to be saved as
    6. In Export Range, check "All" or "Selected Branch" - Selected Branch will export the current folder, so if you happen to have already navigated down tp the appropriate Discoverer Administrator folder you will be able to back it up
    7. Click the Save button
    8. Close the registry editor
    To restore your registry, follow this workflow:
    1. From your PC, click Start | Run
    2. In the Run dialog box, type "regedit" and press the Enter key
    3. The registry will now be displayed
    4. From the registry menu bar, select Registry | Import Registry File
    5. Navigate to the folder in which your registry is saved and locate the file
    6. Click the Open button - the registry will be restored
    7. Close the registry editor

However, the field for the same is seen as greyed out field in Sales Order at line item level. we would like to make the same field as editable. How can the same be done?

    The fields in a sales order can be made optional / mandatory by following this menu path - IMG - S&D-> Basic > Functions-> Log of incomplete Procedures => select the fields > from the tables and the system will check for them (OVA2/VUA2)
    To make a filed entry enabled or grey (non-entry allowed):
    User exits in the program MV45AFZZ-USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION
    This user exit can be used to modify the attributes of the screen fields. To do this, the screen fields are allocated to so-called modification groups 1 - 4 and can be edited together during a modification in ABAP.
    If a field has no field name, it cannot be allocated to a group. The usage of the field groups (modification group 1-4) is as follows:
    Modification group 1: Automatic modification with transaction MFAW
    Modification group 2: It contains ‘LOO’ for step loop fields
    Modification group 3: For modifications which depend on check tables or on other fixed information
    Modification group 4: is not used
    The FORM routine is called up for every field of a screen. If you require changes to be made, you must make them in this user exit. This FORM routine is called up by the module FELDAUSWAHL.
    Actually suppressing fielding sales orders userwise is quite easy. We are doing it in our company. For this we use userexit FORM USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION in MV45AFZZ.
    Below is the sample code
    IF SCREEN-NAME = ‘VBKD-ABSSC’.
    AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT ‘ZMV45AFZZ’ ID ‘SCRFNAME’ FIELD SCREEN-NAME.

    If splits will be there definitely there will be two wagetypes but the amounts they'll have will be based on the rates of those periods.
    Suppose an employee got payscale increase on 11th of  the month, then employee will be paid at the rate of first payscale for first ten days then @ of second payscale on second 20 days.
    So there won't be any inconsistency.
