Problem in Creating and Scheduling an ODI Scenario

Hi,
while Creating and Scheduling an ODI Scenario with the help of the following link:
http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/10g/10135/creating_scheduling_scenario/creating_scheduling_scenario.htm#t2
Oracle DI Agent is not listed in services window(Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools > Services).
What shall I do?
please tell me.And in addition please tell me the use of the Oracle DI Agent and why should we stop its service before creating the schedule??
Thanks
Anindya

Please also look into this link http://odiexperts.com/agent/
First of all did you got any Error why creating Agent Server else the agent service should be visible.
Else please try this step.
Update Odiparams
agentservice -i -s <agent_name>
Go and look for Services starting with Oracledi_Agent_<agentNAME> and start it  Finally test the agent and you should be able to schedule.
you dont need to stop the Agent for every new Schedule, but you will need to right click on Agent and click on Update Scheduling -http://odiexperts.com/scheduling-using-odi-scheduler/
If you are getting an error please provide us the error info and step at which you got the error.

  • Problem in creating and updating of  material by the use of bapi and bdc

    Hello All,
    I am using bapi (BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA ) and than bdc to create and update classification data of material.
    I am facing a problem.
    1) firstly I am creating material by the use of bapi and than after creation i want to update classification data for taht perticular material .
    2) To update classification data i am using bdc . while at the time of updating material through bdc system showing me error that material is currently locked by user (my login name ).
    Please suggest what to do.
    Tkank you
    With Regards
    Shantanu Modi

    When u update/create data it takes sometime to commit. So after using BAPI
    give 10 minutes wait in ur program before updating classification data.
    you can write like
    wait up to 20 seconds.
    and update the classification.

  • Create and Schedule Job - Problem

    hi everyone,
    I'm trying to write an Job which I would like to schedule. Function of this Job is to delete all entries older than 1 Month in the table "tabelle1". As I understand, you can put in job_action the procedure statement.

    job_name => 'delete_all_entries',
    job_type => 'PLSQL_BLOCK',
    job_action => 'BEGIN DELETE FROM tabelle1 WHERE last_date < (SYSDATE - INTERVAL '1' MONTH) AND (status = 'processed'); END;',
    start_date => SYSTIMESTAMP,
    repeat_interval => 'FREQ=WEEKLY;BYDAY=SAT;BYHOUR=10;BYMINUTE=00',
    end_date => NULL,
    enabled => TRUE,
    comments => 'Job defined entirely by the CREATE JOB procedure.');

    Thx in advance!

    Hi,
    If you want to include a single-quote in a string literal, then use 2 single-qutoes in a row, like this:
    'BEGIN DELETE FROM tabelle1 WHERE last_date < (SYSDATE - INTERVAL ''1'' MONTH) AND (status = ''processed''); END;',or use Q-notation:
    Q'{BEGIN DELETE FROM tabelle1 WHERE last_date < (SYSDATE - INTERVAL '1' MONTH) AND (status = 'processed'); END;}',As you posted it, the single-quote right before the 1 indicated that the string literal ended there, and that 1 was outside of the qutoes.
    By the way,
    SYSDATE - INTERVAL '1' MONTH isn't always a valid date (when SYSDATE is October 31, for example).
    Use
    ADD_MONTHS (SYSDATE, -1)instead.

  • Problem with creating and deleting row in table

    Hi
    I'm using JDev11.1.1.2.0. I have a table "A" with primary key X -> CHAR(1). I have created Entity and ViewObject (with the primary key X).
    I created an editable Table with CreateInsert and Delete actions.
    When I click Insert, a new record is added and I enter some data. Then I move selection to some other row, and return back to the new row. When I press Delete, It does not delete the new row, but the previous one selected.
    In the console, when I navigate back two the new added record: <FacesCtrlHierBinding$FacesModel><makeCurrent> ADFv: No row found for rowKey: [oracle.jbo.Key[null ]].
    I tried the same scenario with a different table, that has RowID as a primary key and it works correctly.
    Any Idea why this is happening ? I suppose it's connected somehow with the primary key.
    Thanks
    agruev
    Edited by: a.gruev on Nov 26, 2009 9:47 AM

    I changed my entity: unchecked the X column to be primary key added RowID as a primary key. Now it works.
    What's wrong with my CHAR(1) as a primary key ?
    I also tried to add a Refresh button:
      <af:commandButton text="Refresh" id="cb3"/>and in the table add a partialTarget to the button. Now when I add new row and press the Refresh button - then it works.
    So it seems that the problem is when I add new row and enter data, the table is not refreshed and the row is missing it's primary key.
    Any solutions?

I have installed management server and tried to schedule it but all in vain. I am not able to understand anything. I have read "oracle administrator pdf" and couldnt understand anything. Please dont advise me to read any notes or pdf's because I have tried a lot and was not able to figure out the configuration.

    Why dont you try this? I found it after few tries,
    In the create job dialog box
    under General
    for Override Node Preferred Credentials for entire job
    username and password should be the NT or Unix
    login where your Runtime database Server reside.
    under Parameter

  • VBA: problems in creating and storing objects in array with loop

    I created a Class named Issue. Then I created a function that creates Issue objects, set their properties with data from a worksheet and store them into a variant array through a loop. the problem is that everytime that the loops runs it overwrites the properties
    of the same object instead of creating a new object, setting its properties. Would anyone know how to solve that? The loop code goes below:
     'Stores all the Issues objects in an Array
    Function StoreAllIssues() As Variant
    Dim IssuesSheet As Worksheet
    Set IssuesSheet = Sheet1
    Dim intLastRow As Integer
    intLastRow = Uteis_Jorge.LastRowFunc(IssuesSheet, 1)
    Dim IssuesArray() As New Issue: ReDim IssuesArray(0)
    For i = 2 To intLastRow
        Dim MyIssue As New Issue
        MyIssue.IssueName = IssuesSheet.Cells(i, 1)
        MyIssue.Suggestion = IssuesSheet.Cells(i, 2)
        MyIssue.Priority = IssuesSheet.Cells(i, 3)
        MyIssue.Resolution = IssuesSheet.Cells(i, 4)
        MyIssue.JobStatus = IssuesSheet.Cells(i, 5)
        MyIssue.AssignedTo = IssuesSheet.Cells(i, 6)
        Set IssuesArray(i - 2) = MyIssue
        ReDim Preserve IssuesArray(i - 1)
    Next i
    ReDim Preserve IssuesArray(i - 3)
    StoreAllIssues = IssuesArray
    End Function
    Jorge Barbi Martins ([email protected])

    Hi Jorge,
    You can set the MyIssue to Nothing every time you don't use the MyIssue object, in this way, the array will properly store the new MyIssue object:
    For i = 2 To intLastRow
    Dim MyIssue As New Issue
    MyIssue.IssueName=IssuesSheet.Cells(i,1)
    Set IssuesArray(i - 2) = MyIssue
    ReDim Preserve IssuesArray(i - 1)
    Set MyIssue = Nothing
    Next i

  • Problem with creating and displaying images in a thread

    Hi everyone,
    i need some bit of advice (of course otherwise i wouldn't write anything here). My situation is like this:
    I have a JFrame where the user can enter a string. Then a file that corresponds to this string is read and the information is stored in objects, then these two objects (there are always 2 objects per file) are passed to an ImageCreator class that creates one image with the information found in each object. So per file there are always two images created. Now the thing is that after creating the images i need to display them for 10 seconds each, but as it takes about 2 seconds to create each image i would like to start showing the first one already while the second one is still being created. As i am not really experienced with threads i wonder what would be the best way to manage something like this. Here is a little bit of code, which is still in a rather pseudo code state...if(checkPattern(scanField.getText()) &&
          fc.getFile(createFilename(scanField.getText())) != null)
          BufferedImage img = null;
          ImageDisplay display = new ImageDisplay(scanField.getText(), this);
          for (int i=1; i<3; i++) {
          Info info = tReader.readTelegramForOneInfo(createFilename(scanField.getText()));
          if(i==1)
            info.setError(ew.getProperty(info.getMTNr1(), info.getLack()));
          if(i==2)
            info.setError(ew.getProperty(info.getMTNr2(), info.getLack()));
            iCreator.setHashtable(info);
            iCreator.setWhichMatNr(i);
            img = iCreator.createImage(false);
            if(i == 1)
                //here i would like to start showing the first image
                display.showImage(img);
          //thats an older version where i displayed both images after they had been
          //created.
          //Thread t = new Thread(new ImageDisplay(scanField.getText(), this));
          //t.start();
          //here i would like to show the second image.
          display.showImage(img);
          scanField.setText("");
        else
           doSomethingElse();
        }I hope you can help me.
    Thanks!

    All actual drawing opertations should occur on the dispatcher thread. When the first image is ready you could use SwingUtiltiies.invokeLater() to place a task on the dispatcher thread to draw the image e.g.
    final BufferedImage img = iCreator.createImage(false);
    if(i == 1)
      SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
         public void run() {
           display.showImage(img);
       });(Both the variables uses in run() must be final.
    But it's probably better to have a java.awt.Component of some kind for each image to be displayed, and whose paint method does the actual rendering, if the image is ready (is blank otherwise). Then, when the image is ready you need only call repaint on the components.

  • Creating a job and scheduling a job error in OEM

    Hi, Everyone,
    I am trying to create and schedule a job thru OEM. In the the pl/sql block provide i have given my code like this
    begin
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON;
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND;
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL;
    EXEC PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL;
    SPOOL OFF;
    end;
    i have created the job and scheduled it but i am getting this error:
    Error # 6550
    Details ORA-06550: line 2, column 5: PL/SQL: ORA-00922: missing or invalid option ORA-06550: line 2, column 1: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored ORA-06550: line 3, column 7: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "C" when expecting one of the following: := . ( @ % ;
    could anyone pls help as this is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance

    Ah, the problem is you are confusing SQLPlus commands with PL/SQL.
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND; -- This is a SQLPlus command, in PL/SQL to write out to a file you will need to call the UTL_FILE package to open a file for writing to. Except that the file you write to will appear on the database server, not your workstation, when the scheduled job runs.
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL; -- In PL/SQL you need to SELECT columns INTO variables FROM tables. But in fact I guess you want to write the time to file using UTL_FILE again. However, you don't really need to do this, since scheduler will log the start time and run duration itself.
    EXEC PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910); -- This is the SQLPlus equivalent of the PL/SQL command:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    SPOOL OFF; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    So to summarise, all you really need is:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    And the scheduled job will log the start time and duration in the database, which you can find here:
    SELECT * FROM USER_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS

  • Invoke ODI Scenario (11g) in BPEL (11g)

    Hello -
    I'm developing a BPEL process to load data from SQL Server to Oracle database using ODI . And after that I'm doing more orchestration in the BPEL process. I'm using
    1) Oracle Data Integrator 11g (11.1.1.3)
    2) Oracle SOA Suite 11g (Web Logic Server)
    Have created a scenario in ODI 11.1.1.3 to read data from SQL Server and load into Oracle Database. I would like call this ODI scenario in BPEL 11g as a FIRST Activity.
    Please help me the STEPS I need to
    1) To expose the ODI scenario as a web service?
    2) And to invoke ODI scenario in BPEL
    3) Do I need configure/install public web services or anyother checks I need to do on ODI_server domain(WLS) to ensure it has all the components it need ?
    Detailed steps are greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Babu

    I hope you have found your answer but if not here are some pointers when working in the 11g ODI version. As far as I understand all generated scenarios will be exposed as a web service. ODI provides a small set of service methods available via the agent to invoke those services:
    invokeStartScen
    invokeRestartScen
    getSessionStatus
    getVersion
    To get the WSDL for ODI, simply point your browser or partner descriptor to a running ODI agent: http://agentHost:port/oraclediagent/OdiInvoke?wsdl
    For me running on my local host I can access both the Stand Alone or JEE agents on thier running ports:
    Stand Alone running on 8886: http://localhost:8886/oraclediagent/OdiInvoke?wsdl
    JEE running on 19001 deployed to WLS: http://localhost:19001/oraclediagent/OdiInvoke?wsdl
    As you can see there is no difference between the two agents and they both return with the same list of operations:
