Problem in Point of Sale 1.0 (Transactionware) and Triversity installation.

Hi Friends,
We are facing major problems during the Installation of SAP POS 1.0(Transactionware).
1.We are facing few problems while installing POS and Triversity.
2. Actually in installation there is no problem, the problem is with configuration.
We have installed POS express (Front End) and Transnet client in one system then Triversity Stored value Application & Transnet server in another system.
We have used SQL server as Database in both POS and Triversity.
But while installing Configurator for POS it is asking for Sybase database and we have done that also.
After all the installation when we try to run POS Xpress front end and enter some values like Cashier id, cahier name then it exiting us from that current screen and sometime it is giving information like "Server Not Available"
Which server it is talking about and where to configure, we could not find in the documentation.
The POS Xpress is connecting to which server we are bit confused, becaude we have installed Triversity server in one machine and POS Stored value manager in the same machine where POS Xpress is installed.
So, please help us to resolve this critical issue.
Thanks in Advance,
Basis Team (Kolkata)...

    dears,
I have a problem with iPhone is that I can replace it at points of sale in the U.S. because I bought from Saudi Arabia because the problem I think in the hard ware I do resoftware more than 3 times did not fix.
    Network also always missing.
I am living in KS Wichita. I hope you help me pleas.
    Regards.

iPhone warranty is not international. You will have to return your
iPhone to Saudi Arabia for repair/replacement. Either take it back
yourself or send to friend/relative for them to take to Apple. Apple
will not accept international shipments for repair nor will Apple
ship repaired/replaced iPhones out of the country where the repair
    was done.

  • Need help in Point-of-Sales software developing guide

i was required to developed a new Point-of-Sales software for my new company. however, i do not know where to start. i'm new to POS software, so if anyone who has experience in Point-of-sales software development, plz drop a hint or two for me.
i guess the biggest problem for me is to detecting and communicating with the Barcode Scanner, Receipt printer, Cash Drawer and Pole Display. i would appreciate for the advise on how to achieve this.
    tks

well, the things is like this:
the existing system is actually maintain by the ex-staff of the company. however, due to some unknown circumstances, all of them left within a very short period of time. and now, we were hired.
the whole things a mess. bugs everywhere. so the only solution the management would accept is to re-develop the whole POS and Inventory system. but non of us have any experience in developing such system and we don't have any documentation for the existing system. Now the management would like to see a prototype, a simple POS system that can perform simple operation - scan barcode, display the price at the pole display, 'kick-out' the cash drawer and print the receipt.
i have done a bit part of research, download some Java-based POS such as JPOS, JavaPOS, and FreeMercator. but i don't really get the idea of how to communicate with the devices. and now the management decided to change all the POS peripherals, so i can tell which brand that we are going to use.
    for your question:
Do you already have an inventory control system in place? yes, but no good. no doc as well.
If so you'll want to integrate with that, which could get hairy depending on the system. What's your intended architecture? each store will have their own database. however, they will export their data to the HQ every morning before business hour. the export process of the current system is to extract the data from the database to MS Access DB, then send to the HQ through email.
May I ask why you chose Java to develop this system in?Linux + Postgre + Java = minimum development cost. the company wanted to keep cost at the minimum level.
actually, i do not worry bout the inventory system. all i care is how to communicate with the devices, because this is the first time that i deal with all these POS devices.
besides, i'm not sure if i have to pay attention to any thing like drivers, or whatever standard, etc... and it will be the most appreciate if you can show me (or links to websites) some sample of how to detect and communicating the devices.
lastly, many tks to you for your advice ;)
    have a nice day

  • Yoga Tablet 2 With Windows 8.1 as a Point of Sale Device and Clerking an Auction

First of all, the touch response within Windows 8.1 is excellent.  I do physical labor and my hands have a lot of calluses and scars on them and I've always had problems using touchscreens.  It's thus a joy to use this tablet with Windows, as I must say that the touch response is excellent.
Clerking an auction in the company I am with using  Android and Windows are pretty much similar. However, the differences come at the end of the auction during checkout.  Using Android, the bidders still have to queue up at the checkout counter to have their credit cards scanned and their pick tickets and receipts printed.  With the Yoga 2 with Windows, I can scan their cards with a Windows app and the camera and print their receipts wirelessly through our wireless printer.
We recently opened a store in the auction facility and decided to use the auction program as a Point of Sale application.  We figured we could use tablets and the program would give us a good accounting of sales and expenses and inventory control.  It worked!!  We've been using tablets for awhile now and was able to do away with all the paper except for the pick tickets and receipts.
To start with, we have to enter the inventory in the system.  It's time consuming with pen and paper, it all has to be counted and then transferred into the computer.  Using the tablet, it's counted and entered into the system all at once and there's even the ability to take a picture of the item being counted and entered also.  Each item is assigned an item number which is labeled on that item. We also take consignments, we have the ability to list the products by consignors and generate a report so we know what we need to pay the consignor at any given time.
(The Yoga Tablet 2 with the dashboard open.  The Yoga Tablet 2 is on the left.)
Anybody who wants to purchase an item in the store or bid on an item at one of our auctions has to register and be issued a buyers number or a bidder number.  We can enter their email address on this form and send them coupons or sale notices.  A buyer or bidder can opt out of this if they so desire.
Once a buyer is registered, they are now free to purchase an item in the store or bid on an item in an auction. For the most part, this is the window that a clerk will see.
Once the items are sold to the buyer, then it is time to check out.  Enter the buyer number in the box and options will come up to pay, either by cash, check, credit card or Paypal and this is where a tablet with Windows comes in handy because Windows will recognize a credit card scanner and will print receipts wirelessly to an online printer.  Android will also scan a credit card, but I haven't been able to get Android to print from an online printer yet.
The Yoga 2   makes an excellent Point of Sale device, it is light, fast, small, and it runs cool.  There is a video below that shows the hands on experience.
Thank you Lenovo for giving me the opportunity to try this out.
The Yoga Tablet 2 as a Point of Sale device.

So nice ! I like this new tablet and description product and the youtube video is more comprehensive and explanatory.

  • PROBLEM: ALE SCENARIO (PURCHASE/SALE)

i need to create a sales order at clent"xyz" automatically as soon a purchase order at client "abc" is generated.
For DOING this,iN MESSAGE CONTROL i am using
    medium:ALE
    application:EF
    output type:NEU
    outbound process code: me10
    messagetype:orders
and while defining inbound parameters for client "xyz"
    Process code: orde
    -process immidiately
nOW Purchase order is generated,And idoc for the same is also created which is sent to the port for transmission at specified RFC destination.
message status = 3 (sent to port)
But it is unable to create the application document,
reason:    VKORG, VTWEG, SPART cannot be determined for customer 0000003000 , vendor 0000003000
it needs these fields for automatic generation of sales order.
Now i am able to find these fields, they exist as data elemnt in SAP.
How can i add these fields to my message(idoc type). As i am using "Orders",which is SAP object, which i cannot edit.
What could be the probable solution?Pls. suggested, if i am missing in between at some point....

    Hi, Vijay Raheja
Aveek Ghose's solution is right, you can solve this problem by create a extension IDOC type.
List the mainly step as following:
    Create The Extension Segment   we31
Create the Extension IDoc Type  we30
Create the new Message Type   we81
Do some change on the IDOC configuration:
If you want to create a FM to handle your new extension IDOC, you also need to create a new process code link it, and assign it to your IDOC type.
But normally, we don't create new handle FM for extension IDOC, adding an enhancement in the current IDOC handle FM is enough.
How to do this step according to your requirement.
    Hope it will be helpful.
    Thanks a lot

  • Change pointer for Sales Order

    Hi,
Using change pointers I want to create an IDOC when ever a specific field in the sales order line item is changed. I have activated the change pointer for message type ORDRSP. Also maintained the following entries in BD52
    VERKBELEG(Object) VBAP(Table) ABGRU(field).
After this when I change this field at the sales order line item, it inserts entries into change pointer table.
But my problem is creating IDOC's from those change pointer entries. I am not sure which function module (MASTERIDOC_CREATE_XXXXX) works for this.
    Anyhelp on this highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
I don't think so you can use change pointer for sales order changes. Usually, it is done through transaction code<b> NACE</b> - configuring condition for output type.
You can setup requeirement in procedure control to trigger IDoc ORDRSP for any changes in item level.
Hope this will help you and give an idea.

  • Problem in transfer of Sales Tax  from legacy to Live database

    Hi all,
I am trying to import sales order legacy data to our Live Oracle application database thru Interfaces - OE_HEADER_IFACE_ALL & OE_LINE_IFACE_ALL.
I also got succeed to transfer sales order legacy data to oracle apps. base tables - OE_ORDER_HEADERS_ALL and OE_ORDER_LINES_ALL .
Now, problem is related to Sales Order Tax. Anyone can guide me that how to transfer the Tax Details ( Tax name, Tax Category, Tax Amount ) from legacy
to Live oracle apps database ? What interface table i have to used for the same ? Which Concurrent program I have to run to accomplish this task ? Please
provide me with Navigation path also.
regards and Thanks in advance ..

    @orafad
2 db_links because im working on a 3rd tabespace (But on the same db with Table1) and it has the only sys dba previlege access write and create links on both db tables...
    I tried your suggestion :
    (select col, dump(col, 1016) from table where suitable_condition_to_select_relevant_row ... ;)
    but i got these results:
    +12899. 00000 - "value too large for column %s (actual: %s, maximum: %s)"+
*Cause:    An attempt was made to insert or update a column with a value+
which is too wide for the width of the destination column.
The name of the column is given, along with the actual width
of the value, and the maximum allowed width of the column.
Note that widths are reported in characters if character length
semantics are in effect for the column, otherwise widths are
    reported in bytes.
*Action:   Examine the SQL statement for correctness.  Check source+
    and destination column data types.
Either make the destination column wider, or use a subset
of the source column (i.e. use substring).
by the way the data type of the said column that I have problem with is CHAR(10 Byte)
I tried to change it to Char(10 Char) But I Still have problems.
Is it not on my environment settings or character set of my system... just a thought?

  • Arch Linux being used for Point of Sale terminals?

There's a 90% chance that we're going to be getting in some new point of sale terminals for our retail store.  They're standard x86 platforms that include a touchscreen, a card reader, thermal printer, a cash drawer, barcode scanner, external screen, and the like.  It would be killer to install Arch on them and work them out to be completely functional terminals.  Have any of you guys heard of some good point-of-sale software for Linux?  I'm looking to do the basics, you know, scan a product, have it come up on a screen, calculate totals with tax, run a credit card, print a receipt ... that kind of thing.

  • Good add-ons for retail, point of sale, wholesale and distrbution industry

    Hi,
Which are the good add-ons available in India for retail, point of sale billing, wholesale and distribution industry?
    Typical requirements are:
    1. Point of sale billing
    2. Barcoding - if same item is scanned twice, the qty of the item should increase, rather than creating a new item row.
    3. Combo Offers - Buy 1 Get 1 Free, etc.
    4. Repacking of items - buy in bulk and sell in loose
    5. Support for multiple MRP for same item, example an item with old MRP is in stock, and the same item with new MRP is also in stock
    6. Loyalty Point, Membership schemes
    7. Multiple Payment Modes in same Invoice: Coupons, Card, Cash, etc.
The add-on should work on B1 Starter Pack licenses.
The customer operates small sized departmental stores from 3 locations, with 1 or 2 billing counters in each location, and has limited budget due to which we are suggesting B1 starter pack to him.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Please refer license guide for starter package: (page 10)

  • Is there a way to set of an IPad as a point of sale system in a restaurant

I am an assistant manager in a restaurant in Juneau Aslaska and I am wondering if there is a way to set up a point of sale system using the Ipad to be able to to run credit cards, print to different printers like one to the bar and one to the kitchen also would like to know if there is a printer just for receipts that fits on a belt so the credit card never has to leave the table.

I  did a Google search and http://www.poslavu.com was the first hit. You might want to check it out.

  • Point of Sale machines to create sales orders

    Hello,
We are on 4.7 and not able to use Netweaver for the moment.  Does anybody have any ideas about moving point of sale information from the machines into SAP?  The machines do not come with a data converter, this would be done in an ABAP program.  The information is gathered nightly and comes in a flat file.
Would this be better suited for BAPIs or for IDocs?  If an IDoc is better, do you have an example program that would show how the IDoc should be created?
Lots of questions but I really want to choose the best option to integrate these machines into SAP.
    Thanks,
    Oscar Metcalfe
ps  We do not have SAP-Retail

For this process I would develop using IDoc processing (ORDERS/ORDERS05).  I created a similar interface in the past for batch loading of customers that worked nicely.  The reason I chose IDocs is because the process is asynchronous and IDocs provide easier use of workflow and audit trails.  I don't have an example of the data you would need to successfully post, but you can determine that using WE19 (once the ALE config is complete) and working with your SD functional team to determine required data.
Use an existing inbound IDoc to determine how to populate EDIDC.

  • BI Content for Point of sales( POS) module in retail

    Hi Friends,
Anybody have got the link for Bi content for Point of sales(POS) module in retail industry.
Please post the link and good documents on this.
    will assign the points.
    Best regards
    SAP

    Dear Srinivas,
I've already run a systemtrace to find out the tables:
The following tables are involved: MPOS, MMPT, MPLA and MHIO, MHIS.
In BI-Content I just find MPOS in the DataSource 0PM_MAINTPOS_ATTR and 0PM_MAINTPOS_TEXT. That is ok for master data.
The other tables I couldn't find in BI-Content.
But maybe the BI-Content does not use these tables. Maybe there is used a view which I don't see in the trace.

  • SAP problem in making a Sales order

    Dear All,
I am a student and we have here an assignment of making a sales order in SAP R/3. To help us out in better understanding SAP, our professor has provided a pdf document wherein directions about creating the Sales order are given. Even after following the steps I am unable to make the sales order & getting an error as"process sales document type IN with transaction VA11". Can anybody tell me what mistake I have made and how I can rectify that?
I will be very thankful to you for your reply in helping me out.
    Thank you,
    Harshad

    Hi,
    Here you go -
Every sales order works with the first and foremost data input in its "Create transaction" VA01  - Order Type.  The order type is the heart for the Sales Docuemnt.  In its configuration, we indicate what the document category is - meaning whether its a sales order or inquiry or quotation etc.  In your case, you pickedup an order type IN; IN in standard SAP is Inquiry.  So, if you attempt to create a sales order using VA01 and key in order type as IN, it fails to proceed further as the document category is not order.  So, it is giving you error saying use in in VA11.  Now, change the order type to OR or something similar whichever is configured in your system for sales order creation.
Good luck.  Reward points if it helps!
