Problem in Process chain data loading

Hi Experts,
We have a Process chain in which the lists of jobs are as follows.
1) BI_TRIGGER_PROCESS
2) BI_PROCESS_LOADING
3) BI_PROCESS_ODSACTIVAT
4) BI_PROCESS_DROPINDEX
5) BI_PROCESS_LOADING
6) BI_PROCESS_INDEX
7) BI_PROCESS_ABAP
These jobs trigger the PC and load the data to ODS, activate and delete the index for cube and load data to cube and create the index and then delete the file from the FTP.
The problem is that the Initial job (BI_TRIGGER_PROCESS) is being repeating multiple times because of which the loading is taking place for the same file repeatedly to ODS. one day it was happend repeatedly for 130 times. This is being happening on a randomly basis. We are unable to figure it out the where the problem is. Can anybody help in this regard?

Following is my understanding of problem.
You have Following steps in process chain
1) BI_TRIGGER_PROCESS
2) BI_PROCESS_LOADING
3) BI_PROCESS_ODSACTIVAT
4) BI_PROCESS_DROPINDEX
5) BI_PROCESS_LOADING
6) BI_PROCESS_INDEX
7) BI_PROCESS_ABAP
Some times only first two steps repeat multiple times i.e
1) BI_TRIGGER_PROCESS
2) BI_PROCESS_LOADING
In such case you should see the log from process chain log view.
I believe you should take your process chain out of schedule and reschedule it.
Also check whether somebody has scheduled the inopackage.

Process Chain Data load fail /send email is not woking

Hello Experts,
I have created a process chain for daily data load. And created a message variant to send an email if the data load fials, but it's not working. I am not sure what I am missing. Here are the step I did...
1. Right click on the Info Package in the process chain and select Create Message, select errors radio button and then created new variant.
2. In the variant screen, clicked on Maintain Recipient list and enter the Recipient names and mail options like express mail, send copy etc there and then saved.
Didn't select any under REcip type. Not sure whether it's needed.
I greatly appreciate your help.

did you configure the Basis process to send external emails and the automatic output process?
You could see this in tx SCOT
If there´s any record in tree (SAP SERVER)->INT->SMTP
Here.... if is not configured the automatic output you can manually send the emails.....
If this doesn´t works you need to talk to your basis support for the email basis configuration....

Process chains data load

Can any body help in data scheduling issue
I am able to load data manually the issue is i selected some of the datafields in InfoPackage data selection field and saved .
i put this Ip in the process chain.now the issue is i don't to load data immediately .. say i want to load the data after 3 hours for this i want to set the time .i did set up in the process chain start variant
but it is not working can anybody give me the steps in detail please....

Hi Kelvin,
This should work using the start variant in the chain but of course the infopackage variant will only run if the process
before was successful (depending on your settings with the links joining the processes in the chain).
If you right click on the start variant, select 'maintain variant' , on the next screen make sure 'direct
scheduling' radio button is flagged unless you are using a meta chain as starter process.
Click on 'change selections' button , on the next screen select 'date/Time' option and here
you can set the start date and time. You then need to save this setting , select save
and on the next screen save again. You then need to activate and schedule the
chain again.
If this still does not work can you check if there are errors messages generated in
sm21/st22 or in the process chain log.

Infocube/DSO/Process Chain - data load statistics

Hi,
I'm trying to look for the total data records extracted per day and extraction time from ECC into a particular DSO or infocube.
Also the start and end times of the process chain which executes this infocube.
We are trying to do some performance analysis for the volume testing.So ,we can compare the data volume loaded vs the execution times.
I was able to look under the infocube/dso -> right click -> MANAGE -> transfered records/update records , request time,update time
For this, do I need to look at the full update details or the delta update details?
Also under a particular process chain,-> right click on First step ->Display messages to get the start time of the job
Right Click on last Step ->Display mseeages to get the job finished time.
I just wanted to get your thoughts on this, if this is the correct way to get the total records extracted and extraction times along with process chain times.

Based on the time char like 0calmonth, 0calday you will check the data.
check the jobs in SM37 at ECC and BI system.
select the specific jobs it will give clear picture. how much taking time form source to target.
you use the DB02 and STO5 and RSTT you can do performance analysis.
manage screen you will get either full or delta and which one source system and which type of data source.
Process chains have it will automate the PRD system

Regading Process chains data load monitoring

Hi All,
In my current project, I need to monitor process chains. I am kind of new to this environment as I had not done this before. My tasks are as follows.
1. Process chains are scheduled for a periodic job for every on hour starting at 6 a.m and ending at 12 a.m. After that I need to stop the chain and reschedule it for next day at 6 a.m. How do I do that?
2. Also if a delta process chain fails in one of the processes, I need to stop the chain before the next delta run starts filling the cube. How do I do that?
Also how to see why the process failed?

You can stop your process chain in SM37 tcode. Just select the schedules processes, and here you can see your process chain, just select it, and cancel it for next release.
You can restart it, just by clicking on Execute button. Before executing PC, just cross check by right clicking process chain, and go to change selection option of maiantain variant of start variant. And see if process chain schedule option is starting at 6A.M. or not, and also check it is selected as period job of ` hour or not.
You can see log of process chain by right clicking it, and checking the message. It depends on what option for next process is you selected, like if your next variant connected to failed variant is selected as only if success, then you don;t need to stop ot. It will automatically not go to next process. or right click and you can select stop.
By right clicking on failed process you can see the logs in details.

Process chains for loading data to target is not functioning

Hi SAPians,
Recently, we have upgraded the firmware on IBM P590 with the help of IBM on Saturday i.e. 06/12/2008 (The firmware of P5-590 was SF235_209. It was upgraded to SF240_XXX) and since then the process chains for loading data to targets are not functioning properly. We have stopped all the SAP services, database services & OS services from our end and services have been rebooted after firmware upgrade.
However, the problem with the process chains that load transaction data and hierarchies is solved but the chains that load master data are still not working as scheduled.
We tried to load the master data manually, by running DTP to load data to an object analysis code (attributes) the request remained YELLOW. After refreshing it several times, the request turned into RED. The error message was - PROCESSING TERMINATED (screenshot 1 attached).
To mitigate this we tried deleting the bad request and it prompted with the below message:
"Cannot lock request DTPR_4C37TCZGDUDX1PXL38LVD9CLJ of table ZANLYSIS for deletion (Message no. RSMPC178)" (screenshot 2 attached)
Please advise us how the bad request should be deleted?

Hi Sowjanya,
Follow the below procedure to make yellow request to RED:
Use SE37, to execute the function module RSBM_GUI_CHANGE_USTATE
From the next screen, for I_REQUID enter that request ID and execute.
From the next screen, select 'Status Erroneous' radiobutton and continue.
This Function Module, change the status of request from Green / Yellow to RED.
Once it is RED, you can manually delete that request...
Releasing LocK
Gott Transaction Code SM12 and release the lock.

Problem in Process chains - Need help

Dear Experts
I have a problem in Process chains
I have ODS1 from which Iu2019m updateing the ODS2 and ODS3 with same Delta infopackage.
The difference between ODS2 and ODS3 is in ODS2 Iu2019m loading with Local Currency
And in ODS3 is getting loaded with Group Currency
When Iu2019m running with Process chain its executing twice as below
First time : It is showing only ODS2 as the Datatarget and loading all the delta records to ODS2
Secondtime: Its showing both ODS2 and ODS3 in Datatarget and loading with 0 Records.
In this way No record is getting updated in ODS3.
Could you please share your thoughts on why it is triggering twice ? And how we can avoid this.

Process Chain which loads data to a cube

Hi All
Please help me create a process chain in BI 7.0. I have to load the data in to a cube and before that i need to delete the existing request in the Cube. I think i should use " Delete overlapping requests from Infocube". In the maintain variant for this process type what object types i need to add. Do i need to add both Execute infopackage and Data transfer process objects.

I am loading the data from PSA to Cube using DTP. Actually my data source is export datasource (8ZHYP- prefix 8). So accroding to your answer i should use DTP object type in the process type delete overlapping request. But when i create a variant for that process type it is getting Indexs > Create Index > Data Transfer Process > Request to delete data in the infocube.
I just want to delete the data in the infocube before i load the data. So can i delete all the remaining processes.

Error in Process Chain while loading Master data text?

Hello All
Having a Process chain and having 5 infopackages(Master data Attri & text)with FULL LOAD with an processing options as PSA and Infobject.In this one of the infopackage failed and the status is in red colour,and when I right clicked there is no repeat option?Now how to run this process?
Heard that v can restart the process in debug screen?can anyone let me know how to do this?

Hi dear,
you don't find the repeat option because this is a full load...I think you can easily restart the entire PC (or loading directly the failed infopackage from RSA1), because full loads for master data don't cause any data duplication !

Failure of Process Chain while loading master data.

Hi Guys
We are using BI 7.0, we have a chain which loads the data to several master data objects having a Write Optimized DSO in between those.
The steps of the chain is like this when new/delta loads are started loadin first it deletes the all existing WO DSO requestes. starting it was running nice but, now it showing error as follow
"Process Complete Deletion of Data Target Contents, variant Delete Contents of WriteOptimized Text DSO has status Ended with errors (instance DELC_D2YPRHNFKWTJ27DGHR825IG9V)"

Creation of Decision in Process Chain to load data to a SPO

Hi,
I have a question regarding adding a Decision type to my Process chain.
I want to load data to a SPO that contains 12 InfoCubes (Jan - Dec) from a DSO, but I do not want to start all 12 DTP's.
Want I am looking for is a way to only start the DTP's that load to the InfoCubes that contain current month, last month and all other data should be loaded to a Infocube (nr 13) that is not a part of the SPO so I would only have 3 DTP's running at the same time and not 13.
E.g. A delta load to the DSO contains 3 records; 1 for 2014.09, 1 for 2014.08 and 1 for 05.2013 triggers the DTP to the January InfoCube, the DTP to the August InfoCube and the DTP to the 13 Infocube.
Is this possible by using a Decision and if so how?

I haven't worked with SPOs yet, but I do work frequently with decisions, so here's my 5 cents...
In your case you wish to have your decision based on the data contained in "a delta load to the DSO". I'm assuming you're talking InfoPackage here, because you wish to execute the DTP's afterwards.
So basically you need to determine which "months" are in your incoming data packages. The only way I see that possible is via start/end routine. In your example, you would look the data package and find 3 records each with a different month, being 08.2014, 09.2014 & 05.2013. You could then "convert" these to just numbers ranging from 1 to 13. That makes it relatively "easy" to link the right DTP to the right "number".
Now, how to pass that info (those numbers) back to the "decision" process? By default you base your formula on a "system" field (see basic how to link below). I don't see how this would work in your case. You'll need to somehow export your "numbers" (most likely an internal table or a "range") to memory (or fill it in a [z-]table) and then read it back in with custom code. I haven't done that yet (at least not in the context of decision steps), but I would recommend to have a look at the "experienced" way of working document below. It won't be easy, but I think it could work.

Delta load problem in process chain

I have ODS givng data to another ODS. The init of this flow was done manually...Now i have created process chain in which further processing has variant as "execute infopackage" as the delta package made .. now when i check this process chain its giving me error ""Delete init. request

init. again with same selection"" .. Actually this is not the Init req which i ran manually..this is the req which was run when i ran this process chain... what shld i do to add only delta IP in process chain so that i dnt ve to delete init

hi,
first load all the init loads from the ods to cube. then u have to create the delta infopack and include that in the chain.
create the int info pack under the infosource 8<ods name>
trigger that infopack, create the delta infopack under the 8<odsname> infosource , and you have include that in the PC.
Please do changes in your process chain.
Local chain 1 - start -> load to ods -> activation of ods ->further processing(remove the infopack in this process maintain variant).
Lcoal chain 2 - start -> delete index ->load delta to cube -> create index -> roll up (if needed)
Main chain -> start -> local chain 1 ->local chain2

Process chain while loading data into DataStoreObject

Im trying to load the data in DataStoreObject by using the process chain . I build the process chain like below
Start Process -> InfoPackage -> DataTransferProcess -> Activate DataStoreobject Data .
When i try to schedule the proces chain then job is going to be cancelled.
Then i looked in St22 . There i got the error says that MESSAGE_TYPE_X .
how can i solve this error . Please let me know

try to activate again the ODS, also try to activate manually by executing the following report from SE38:
RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
Insert just the infosource of the ODS and execute it. After this, replicate the datasource and try again to execute the chain.,

Problem in process chain running for 3 days

Hi Experts,
Please help me
We have process chain like below
1.     delete index
2.     full loads going 3 cubes (16 infopacs)
3.     loading to ods and then update to cube
4.     delete overlapping requests (16 infopac)
5.     create index
6.     aggregate filling
7.     delete PSA
Now the issue is, from last Saturday onwards
Process chains was still in Yellow status till date, so now, 1,2,3,4, are still running
In process chains, out if 16 infopacs, 12 are green, remaining 4 are stopped
And in ODS activation of ods data variant shows yellow, but when checked the data is activated, but not pushed to cube. When checked log it show u201Csystem exception error_messageu201D, so process terminated.
When we checked for shortdump,
It says u201Clocal time on the application server is incorrectu201D
Experts please let me know how to solve this and correct the load.

I have done the steps manually yestarday, checked todays, still it is in yellow status.
let me explain the scenario,
The data is going to 3 cubes,
the process chain is designed like this,
1. initially delete index
2. full load to cube using 16 infopac and loading from (2)ODS to cube.
3. delete overlapping requests
4. create index (3 cubes)
5. fill aggregates (only one cube)
6. Delete PSA request
so now , chain is having problem at
1. data is loaded to ods
2. data activation (showing yellow, but when checked data is activated)
3. further update to cube (2 cubes) in process chain this is not started atall ( so y'day I've done manually)
4. out 16 infocpack, only 12 infopacs are green and remaining 4 are not started.
so yestarday I've manually schedule remaining 4 infopacs.
and deleted previour requests in infocube as they are full load, but I did'nt done create index and fill aggregate steps.
now the problem is , out of 3 cube report available request is present for 2 cubes, but for 3 cube this report request is not available, but QM status is green
please let me know how to proceed.
one small silly question, do i need to fill aggregate step to get this report available request.....please suggest.
