Problem in Replying to Email

I have a pay as you go account
When I receive emails and attempt to reply I often get the following message:
"Cannot verify server identity
Details: Local Host – not trusted
Country Name: GB
State or Province name:  Someprovince
Locality Name: sometown"
How do I deal with this?

I have similar problems when I try and forward an email with a .jpg attachment. No-one receiving that forward can read the .jpg as it is distorted.
One other problem i have is sometimes when i reply to an email received, the PC user receiving the email receives a mail just containing wingdings and other symbols instead of my text.]A further problem is that sometimes I get an email from a PC user and the body of the email is blank - no text can be seen. If I forward it to a PC I still cannot see the text, but if I receive the original mail on a PC it is fine and the text is all there. So the Mac (Mail) must be wiping out the text?
Any ideas on what settings I need to change?

  • Problems with replying to emails. Please help???

I currently have 2 email accounts set up within Mail.
When I receive an email to the first address (email 1) and reply to it, the email is returned to the sender as if it has been sent from the second address (email 2) and when they reply back to me it is sent to the second address (email 2).
I have tried making sure that the original reply is sent from the first address but no matter how many times I try this it always sends and returns to the second address.
This problem only happens when I reply to emails and not when I create an email from scratch.
Can anyone please help as this is driving me nuts!!!!!
    Thanks in advance....

    Just to clarify.
I currently have 2 email accounts set up within Mail.
The first account is for business use and the 2nd is for pleasure.
Whenever I recieve an email to the business address and reply to it, the recipient receives the reply from my pleasure address and when they reply to that, it returns to me via my pleasure address.
I have tried making sure that the original reply from me is sent from the business address via the drop down "FROM" tab but this makes no difference.
This is my first iMac and this problem is driving me insane!!!!
Any advice will be greatly welcomed...
    Thank in advance...

  • Occasional problems with replying to emails

Has anyone ever experienced replying to an email and then when attempting to send it the menu items don't include send and only save draft?  I find that I can't even reply to the email once that occurs until I get to my desktop and open up my outlook.  Why does this happen and how can I avoid it?  and solve it once this occurs.
    thanks,

Why can't I reply to emails on my iPhone 5 - this is a recent problem, I have been able to reply and delete email messages previously.

A bit more information would be needed to understand what's going on?
What happens when you try to reply... Do you get an error message, is there no send button, does a symbol appear?

  • Cannot create/reply/forward email on FireFox 15.0.1

I was able to create/reply/forward email on AOL with FireFox 14 but with FireFox 15.0 the reply/forward feature only copied the email to the compose page on the first attempt - I had to end/restart FireFox each time I wanted to reply/forward. With the 15.0.1 upgrade I have lost the ability to create/reply/forward - the compose page works except I cannot issue the send or save commands (thank goodness for autosave). Switching to IE solves the problem but my browser of preferance is FireFox.
This problem only exists for AOL webpage email - yahoo and gmail work perfectly.

Is the problem with Send and Save that the buttons are missing or that they don't do anything?
I don't have an AOL account to test, so I can only offer general advice.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove your aol.com cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these:
    * While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If the site works correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.
    Any change?

  • Just upgraded and cannot send or reply to email

I just bought a MacBook Pro (15"/216gHz/2gig ram) and transfered everything via firewire from my old PowerBook G4. When I attempt to reply or forward email, I click on the button (or use the menu) and absolutely nothing happens. I can click compose and get a new email screen, but when I click to send nothing happens. I receive email without troubles from all my accounts. I have no problem sending and replying to email with my old G4 (and the other computers on my Airport network - so it's not the network) and all the preference settings for my accounts are identical. Any ideas or assistance?

In the other thread where you posted about this problem, I suggested you to reset Launch Services. Have you tried that or not?
I’ll repeat it here in case someone else having the same problem comes accross this thread. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services — the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:
    Resetting Launch Services
If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, take a look at this other article for general troubleshooting and cache-cleaning procedures. Actually, you should also verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described there:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
The most appropriate utility for this particular problem probably is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
As an example, this is how you should proceed with OnyX:
    1. Quit all applications.
    2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
    3. Go to Maintenance > Reset and check LaunchServices database.
    4. Un-check any other pre-checked options.
    5. Click the Execute button.
    6. Restart the computer.

  • Mail crashing when selecting 'reply' to email

For some reason when replying to emails in 'Mail' the program goes to the beach ball.
If I just select new email and address it to the person that sent me the email I want to reply to all is OK.
    Hope someone can help.
    iMac 20" Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

So Mail doesn’t really crash (i.e. quit unexpectedly). Rather, it freezes (i.e. becomes unresponsive), right?
What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
Try disabling Search .Mac For Certificates in Keychain Access > Preferences if it’s enabled. Take a look at the following articles for an explanation of why this could be the problem:

  • I recently opened an email with some sort of virus and now I cannot forward, reply, send emails or view you tubes only with firefox. Can you help?

I recently viewed an email and received some sort of virus. Only in the email address where I view in infected email and only when using Firefox do I have a problem. When using the email address I can no longer send emails, reply to emails or forward emails. I can no longer view You Tubes when using FirefoxI. I can send emails, reply, and forward emails and view You Tubes when using internet explorer. I do not have this problem when using another computer. I only have the problem described when using Firefox with the computer which was infected. I prefer Firefox so can you please guide me in a direction to address the problem.

thx for your response. are saying websites such as hotmail and yahoo mail detect that they are being accessed via firefox and turn off the JavaScript that makes hot links? really? additionally, i have friends with firefox in which hyperlinks stay active when they are copied and pasted.
was the "Make Link" add-on you posted supposed to fix the problem? i downloaded it, but i don't know where the "context menu" is that is supposed to help me. how to i view this context window now that i have downloaded the add-on?

So the reply and forward menu items do not work in regular mode, ''and'' do not work in Firefox's Safe Mode, ''and'' clearing your cached files, ''and'' clearing your cookies, did not help. But the site works normally in IE. Hmmm...
Did reply and forward work prior to the last week, or have they never worked for you in Firefox?
I noticed you have an AVG plugin. Can you check your AVG options to see whether it is blocking any scripts in Firefox that it isn't blocking in IE?
I noticed your Flash plugin is quite ancient. Probably Firefox is disabling it? I don't think Outlook.com is dependent on Flash, but you could consider updating it.
Flash 11.3 and later have caused a range of problems for Firefox users. This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

  • Why can't you attach files when replying to email?  Geez!

Come on Apple, this is a basic feature on every other smartphone...can't attach files in reply to emails and can 't attach them from starting an email directly...instead you have to go to the file first, select it and then tell it to send in an email. This is ridiculous!

Apps on the iPhone are pretty much sandboxed, with some exceptions. This means that any given app can only see files associated with that app. You cannot share any files between apps.
    You can't do this:
    1) Download a file from Safari and save it (app number 1)
    2) Edit that file (e.g. word processor) (app number 2)
    3) Copy that file (e.g. file explorer) (app number 3)
    4) Open an email and attach the file to it (app number 4)
    etc, etc.
You also can't save files associated with an app, delete that app and reinstall it, and then restore those files. If you could do this, you could do a "restore as a new phone" to fix whatever problems you might be having, but not lose anything in the process.
The iPad can't do this either, which eliminates it as a laptop replacement.

  • Yahoo only isn't working. We can't read / reply to emails. we tried your existing fixes

Since the end of January when Yahoo started experiencing all the problems in the UK, we have had problems with Yahoo mail. It is the only application we have problems with. It started being slow and giving 'network connection errors'. Now we cannot read nor reply to emails - new or old. Yahoo help suggestions claim everything to be 'fixed' this week. We cannot see a difference. I've tried all Yahoo suggestions. All existing settings are as they want. I am old fashioned to my mind when I was working in these things 20 years ago this has all the symptons of a yahoo server data management problem but I might be wrong and will try anything to fix it. This is what we know so far:
    1. Internet Explorer browser worked 'properly' for ten minutes when tried yesterday and then restored all the old problems (hence I have paid a lot more attention to caching etc)
    2. From asking around, people using firefox have far less problems than anyone else. Yesterday evening using firefox on a different computer the account existed problem free for an hour. today using our laptop we have the problems
    3. we tried everything on the cache and history and graphics we saw on the other questions . we now get a scripting error vis-a-vis the script is running slowly: https://s.yimg.com/zz/combo?ng/s/php/mail/js/launch_54_4398.js:2
Any suggestions? I apologise for bothering the good folk of the mozilla community with what seems to be a yahoo problem but no-one else seems to have either brains or commonsense. All help is appreciated.

It may happen due to the maintenance of their servers

  • Cant reply to emails 10.8.3

Since upgrading to 10.8.3 the machines on our network seem unable to reply to emails, i reset the account which fixed the problem for about 10 minutes. WE have an open email system using imap and latest kerio, 10.7 machines are all fine, anyone else have the problem? To clarify the reply button is not greyed out , you can press it, just nothing happens, same if you right click and reply, and all other methods of replying.
    Thanks
    Rob

Right i think i know whats going on here
Our email system is a blanket imap system whereas everybody can se everyone elses emails within the company, this is done by having a single account on kerio that has a number of aliases that are deemed acceptable email addresses, ie the names of the people that work here, anything other than that is sent to a catchall and deleted,  prior to the 10.8.3 update we were able to reply to any email that came in, even if it wasnt addressed to me, now i can only reply to emails that are addressed to me, joe bloggs in the office can only reply to emails that are addressed to him, i think apple have introduced this as some kind of security measure, i think the time is now for us to have a "normal" email system.

  • Using talktalk and unable to send or reply to emails any solution?

  • Unable to reply to emails after restoring profile

    Hi BB Community,
I'm having problems with sending replies to emails on my Blackberry 8310. I can receive emails and send new emails, but I'm unable to reply to emails sent to me (there's no option). The only option I have is to draft a new email and send.
I've tried having service books resent, hard reset (handheld wipe) and at first it seemed to not have resolved the issue. After trying another hard reset and enterprise activation the second time without restoring my profile and third party apps, I had the option to reply to emails. However, doing the restore after the activation, doesn't restore my apps correctly and it causes the reply issue to reoccur.
My question is, how should I procede from here on? Should I just suck it up and re-download all my apps again instead of restoring, or is it possible (which I think is highly likely) that one of my apps is causing this issue, or could it even be something to do with how I've setup my Blackberry desktop?
Any input would greatly be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think your correct, one of your app is causing the issue.  Once you restore, you have the problem again.  I would re-download the apps not restore them from the BES.  I think that's where your problem is coming from.
