Problem in starting Report Writer

When I try to start Report writer with rwbld60, it shows an error
Error while loading shared libraries: libjava.so : cannot load shared object files: No such file or directory.
Pl. let me know how to configure java for starting report writer.

This needs to be in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH (or equivalent depending upon what Unix system you are on). If this file is not part of your installation, then you need to reinstall the product as your installation directory is incomplete.

Mailing Problem in Reports Writer 3.0 (URGENT)

Hello,
I 'm facing mailing problem in Reports Writer 3.0.
All Reports files (.rep) are stored on NT Server(in a particular
dir) and I have full permission (on that dir).
After running the report, when I try to send mail then it gives
the following error
REP-4203: Error occurred while sending a mail message.
REP-4221: Cannot access attachment file.
So pls. suggest me.

This is the wrong forum for reports issues - particularly for such an old version :-) However, you'll have to write a user exit to do that kind of stuff. And no don't ask me how, it was all too long ago, but there should be a section on that in your manual.

Report writer problem

Hi,
I have created a report through report writer/Painter(GR51). My query here is to link this report to a transaction code. Could you please suggest me how can I acheive this?

Hi Suresh,
Go to SE93 and select the Transaction with Parameters ( Parameter Transaction)
Then in the Transaction field give: START_REPORT
Skip initial screen
Screen 0
In the default value for the parameters give
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE RW
D_SREPOVARI-REPORT ( Give your Report Group )
If you have any doubt pick any report painter tcode and check in SE93.

Help on report writer for Trial balance report

Hi
client is using report writer report for TB report say report ZTB.Now problem is when new financial year started on 1/4/2007 it is not carrying opening balances from previous financial year.
Existing report writer report is linked to Macros developed for complete financial reporting.So existing format can't be changed i.e addition of new columns etc.
Is there any place staright away I can make a change so that previous year balances can be added as of 1/4/2007?
I am new to report writer.
Can some one please help me how resolve this!!

I having problem in XL Reporter

i having problem in XL Reporter is that
in report compose i have selecte two fields from BP tab, one BP and contact person
if i generate , it ask file name "bp1" in action edit definition, checked use exel temple
then i entered OK

Read the following solution from SAP for your problem;
When we open XL Reporter we get an error
message "A required COM add-in program for XL Reporter has not been loaded
and prohibits Microsoft Excel from running." when trying to open a report
definition.
SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM:
Reason and Prerequisites
You need to be an administrator on the local machine to add COM add-ins.
Solution
The user should be added as a member of the administrator role on the
local computer the first time you start Excel from XL Reporter the first
time so that the COM addin are registered, then you can remove the user
from the administrator group again.
Manually Loading the XL Reporter Excel COM Add-In
Symptom
If you install Microsoft Office after installing the XL Reporter
application or use another Windows user than the one you used when
installing XL Reporter, you can get an error message.
Reason and Prerequisites
The reason for this is that the report writer COM Add-in has not been
loaded, which prohibits Microsoft Excel from running.
Solution
1. Start Microsoft Excel. If you already have the COM Add-ins command on
the Tools menu, go to step 7.
2. In the Tools menu, choose Customize.
This opens the Customize window.
3. Choose the Commands tab and select Tools from the Categories pane on
the left.
4. In the Command pane on the right, scroll down to the COM Add-ins
command.
5. Select the COM Add-ins command, hold down the mouse button, and drag
COM Add-ins from the Commands pane over to the Tools menu on the Microsoft
Excel men bar. When the Tools menu commands appear, point to where you
want the COM Add-ins command to appear on the menu and release the mouse
button.
6. To close the Customize window, choose Close.
7. On the Tools menu, choose the new COM Add-ins option.
This opens the COM Add-ins window.
8. In the window, choose Add to open the Add Add-in window.
9.Select the IXXLReporter.dll file located in the Client directory in the
XL Reporter program installation area and choose OK.

I know a really good actor that has the same name...and you're new to reports...hmmmmmmmm.....well, first of all,
bravo to you for being able to write english at all. I'm glad I don't have to learn it again.
Go to the Group Expert and select one of your "levels".
This will be your top group. Then select the next "level", etc.
I know you're not a dummy, but get a "Crystal Reports for Dummies" book and then a Crystal Reference book. The dummy books are actually pretty good and give you a "from the ground" start. Then keep coming back to the forum and test out your ideas by helping others.

It gives error rep:0118 Unable to create a temporary file

You definitely have a problems with rights. It was installed by Administrator and the user you're trying to run it with doesn't have the rights to access those files. An easy solution should be to include your user in the administrator group. You can also, as administrator, give read/write priviledge to the Reports installation directory to anyone.

On visiting the store we get only one reply you may write to Apple directely. we have the similar kind of problem with iPad which is being used by my wife Mr.Neelam Vij and paid Rs.16000/- to get it replaced within a year & 6months use. so in totality we have paid Rs.28500/- + Rs. 3000/- diagnostic charges.

Moreover, we have no information to contact whom. even the replace set has a warranty of only three month which further confirm that Apple itself is not confident wheather product will last after replacement for more then three month. Getting a weird error in Report Writer Report(ABAP Reporting tool)

Hi Guys,
If anybody has worked on Report Writer Report.Can you help me in this regards?
There is a peculiar problem for the (Column block) .In the Column block there are 3 key figures(Quantity,Local Currency and Group Currency).
Of these in the output of the Report Writer Report the Quantity Column is not getting summed up properly.Though the other 2 columns(Local Currency and Group Currency)are reflecting the proper summed up data.
According to the tables, all of them are reflecting the accurate data.But only for the Quantity column though its reflecting the actual data,but the summation for it is not reflecting the correct data.
Can anybody tell me if we can attach screen-shots for Questions posted in Forums?
Please help me in this regards.

Thank you for your quick response.
I checked the report and the remainder functions is not being used.
The only formulas being used in the report are the following.
UpperCase ([1])
+ ", " + - This is set to @name
{@name} + " (" + + ")"
There are some formatting formulas set on the above values, but other than that, there is a sql query and the "select distinct rows" and "perform grouping on server" is selected.

I am trying to solve a problem where report parameter value that is set at Management Console is wiped out after calling replaceConnection.
databaseController.replaceConnection(oldConnectionInfo, newConnectionInfo,
null,DBOptions._doNotVerifyDB);
We have to support changing database connection from a java utility
class. But once replaceConnection is called all existing static parameter values are lost. To fix this issue we thought of getting parameters and values before calling replaceConnection and setting it after replaceConnection.
Version is CS2008 SP3 - version 12.3.0.601
If there is any other option of fixing the original wipe out issue?
ParameterValues.getValues() didn't return value. I will try ParameterValues.getCurrentCalues() but the document says ParameterValues.getValues() is equivalent to the IParameterField.getCurrentValues() method unless it is empty, in which case it is equivalent to the IParameterField.getDefaultValues() method.
So getCurrentValues() may not work.

Report Writer Missing Data for Cost Center+Investment Internal Order

Hi Gurus,
I have met a problem on Report writer. T-code KSBB -> Report for Cost Center Group by Cost Elements in diff months.
The report can be drilled down to call KSB1 to give line items on the cost element by cost center/group.
The problem is the drill-down report missed the line items for investment orders. ( Compared with manually use KSB1)
The overhead internal order line items are fine.
For example, document 001-Apr:
Dr. Cost Element 1009                 $900 -- BA 90 Cost Center 90000 Investment order 9001
     Cr. Other cost elements.                  $900
Document 002-Apr
Dr. Cost Element 1009                 $800 -- BA90 Cost Center 90000 Overhead order 7001
     Cr. Other cost elements                      $800
In KSBB report, the cost center group for 90000 in cost element 1009 in Apr only has $800.
And the drilled down report which called KSB1 has the line item for docuemnt 002.
However, when I run KSB1 directly, the total amount for cost element 1009 in cost center 90000 is $1700.
Here is what I checked:
1. I have my ABAPer checked the KSBB program and KSB1 program to debug them in DEV ( DEV and PRD has the same problem). The different to get the data is that in KSB1, it has selected a value type 11 ( Googled: field name is WRTTP, Down payments as expenses. In program: WRTTP means Statistically Actual ) and 04 ( Googled: Actual True Posting. In program: 04 in WRTTP means Actual posting).
But in KSBB, it only select 04 when I clicked the drill down report to call KSB1.
2. I am thinking that the cause was on different types of internal order:
Overhead internal orders are statistical orders. Investment orders are actual orders.
Could you help to throw some light on the problem?

Can't start report server on windows 2000

I can't start report server with error code 186, my tnsname.ora is
REP60_DUQ = Rep60_DUQ
is it error?
who can tell me how to resolve it!!!

but I have add tnsnames.ora following
Rep60_REPORT_SERVER =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = REPORT_SERVER)(PORT = 1951))
then I start report server with:
/PATH_TO_REPORTSERVER/report60_server start
it still says:
REP-0186: Daemon failed to listen to port
what is problem?
any thing must be done to activate changes in
tnsnames.ora?

Report Writer Issues

A user transported Report Writer objects into a production system which is affecting other businesses data when they run report writer. The first issue I am seeing is that incorrect variants are defaulting fir at least one Report Group, and maybe more. I suppose it is impossible to back out the transports that are causing the problem?
How does the variant default to a specific report Group?
Any other Report Writer transactions, info, or other materials will be appreciated.

In the lead column, this is where you define your row definitions. For example if you are using GL accounts these would be defined here. Next, create another row definition by double clicking. It will bring up an option. Pick formula. Then you can do math calculations.
In the currency column you should only define one currency. This is your key figure. Also select the characteristics that you want it to be based on 'ie fiscal year'. If in FI try TSL.
