Problem in transaction SM30

Hi,
one of my colleagues gets the follwoing message when attempting to access Table/view MASE via SM30:
<b>The maintenance dialog for MASE is incomplete or not defined
Message no. SV037
Diagnosis
The called function with the view/table MASE needs a special maintenance dialog which, however, either does not exist at all, or does not exist completely.
System Response
The called function cannot be performed.
Procedure
Generate the required maintenance dialog.</b>
I have looked at previous threads re. SV037 error and I have tried to solve it myself by generating the required dialog by chosing Generated Objects button (transaction SE54). Then it asks for a function group and when I search for and find 2 possible ones: PEPC and ISSR7_VIEW_CUST_.
No matter which I choose i get the warning "You are changing a function group which does not belong to you" after I click on Find Scr. Numbers button.
Am I on the right track or not?

i think problem is in se11 itself/.
creation of table maintenance generator:
go to se11> table name> change> go to utilities> table maintenance generator --> enter authorization group (&NC&) and function group name.
if u dont have fn grp name create it in se80.
specify maintenance type --> single step or two step.
enter screen numbers ..
click on create(pencil icon) .it will ask for package name and request number. enter them and save activate.now mesage will appear maintenance view created without errors..
now u can go to sm30 enter table name u can proceed with new entries now...
reward if useful.

          We encountered an interesting problem using transacted JMS connection factories.
          An EJB starts a container managed transaction and tries to validate a credit card
          before creating some information to a database for the user, in case of success
          an SMS is sent to the user via the transacted JMS queue. If the credit card authentications
          duration is about the same as the transactions timeout (in this case the default
          30 seconds) sometimes the database inserts is committed but the JMS insert is
          rollbacked. How can this be?
          If the authorization duration is much longer than 30 seconds everything works
          fine (both database and JMS inserts rollbacked), the same is true if a rollback
          is insured by calling EJBContext.setRollbackOnly(). The problem thus occurs only

          Make sure that your session is not "transacted". In other words,
          the first parameter to createSession() must be false. There is an
          unfortunate name re-use here. If a session is "transacted", it
          maintains an independent "inner transaction" independent of the
          outer transaction. From the above description, it seems unlikely
          that your application has this wrong, as you say that
          "setRollbackOnly" works - but please check anyway.
          Make sure that you are using a true XA capable driver and database
          (XA "emulation" may not suffice)
          Beyond the above, I do not see what can be going wrong. You
          may want to try posting to the transactions and jdbc newsgroups. Note
          that JMS is appears to be exhibiting the correct behavior, but the
          JDBC operation is not. The JDBC operation appears to have
          its timeout independent of the transaction monitor's timeout.

Yes, it is possible to add button for the transaction SM30.
This is possible through Menu exit.
Procedure for Menuexit:-
Go to SM30 ->System -> Status
Repository data -> Transaction -> Double click on it
Copy package name
Go to SMOD
Press F4 then a popup will open
Click on information system
Enter package name and press Enter
Then we will get Exit
Put cursor on that exit and press Enter
Go to change mode and save it.
Go to CMOD or alternatively we can use the path tools -> ABAP/4 Workbench -> Utilities -> Enhancements ->Project Management
Specify Project name in the enhancement text box
Click on Create icon on the application toolbar.
Enter description for the project and save it
Click on Enhancement Assignment button on the application toolbar
Give Exit and save it
Go to Components on the application toolbar
Double Click on MENUS001
Write function text which we want to add to menu item and save it with an request number
Double Click on Exit and write code there to display menu item in the screen
Activate the include program and finally activate the project.

Search Button in Transaction SM30

Good Morning,
I want to know if it's possible to activate de search button in transaction SM30.
What i mean is, when you call transaction SM30 and you choose to modify some data from a table, the search button (binoculars) is deactivated.
It looks to me like this is SAP standard for that Status GUI in particular...
Will the button be activated in any circumstances? If yes, in which circumstances will it be activated?
If no, is it possible to do so by my own? If yes, how can i do it?

Hi Pedro,
If the table is created by you, then do not define the field by referring to the dataelement or domain, but declare it as a flat data type.
for example do not have matnr referring to matnr data element. Instead declare it as matnr of char18 type.

Table Maintaince with Transaction SM30 with selection Screen

I have a requirement for maintance of Z table "ABC" and it need to be maintanied.
This Ztable should have Ztransaction Code connecting to transaction SM30.
Also this should have a selection screen with 3 fields to filter the data and only the selected data needs to be used to enter the values in SM30 with the Maintain mode.
I have created the table and t code and below is the report .

but when i execute the report it goes to the 1st screen of SM30 and gives the error message to selecting the option of No restriction , enter condition .. etc .
I have already ticked the Check box to skip initial Screen in the SM93, while creating the Transaction Code.
Let me know what chnages needs to be done and what code should i write.

You actually do not need to do any data selection beforehand to accomplish this. Just convert the select-options to a different format and then call FM 'VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL'.instead of CALL TRANSACTION. The process is described here:

Which package for saving a variant of transaction SM30?

I use SHD0 to create a variant of the transaction SM30. After saving it, I got the dialog to select the package. Z* packages are not allowed, only SAP Packages. Which is the correct package for saving the variant?

I create them in SE93.
Z* Transaction code. Transaction with variant.
The transaction is SM30.
The default values are:
update X or blank for non-edit
VIEWNAME: **
where ** is the name of the table you are maintaining.

In the asset master (AS02) you can maintain the WBS element in Time Dependent data.
For maintaining the WBS element in asset master, first you have to make WBS element optional entry in Screen Layouts for Asset master data.

Problem with Transaction-Duration Dialog

I wonder if somebody could shed a light on the problem that we're having
with transaction-duration dialog service object. The problem is this.
When we call the service object and its SQL statement fails (for
example, because of constraint violation) Forte raises AbortException.

Has anyone experienced this problem with "transaction-duration" service
object? Is there any way to find out the cause of "AbortException"? It
seems impossible to catch the AbortException on the server partition,
looks like Forte exits right away.
Everything works fine with "message-duration" dialog, unfortunately it
is not an option for us because of the way our batch programs were
designed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

ok, i've narrowed down the problem, it seems that when i try and save a file onto one partition of one of my ext drives it won't save to my last save dir but if i save to another partition/drive it works ok, also if i rename the 'dodgy' partition it also seems to work ok, so somehow the name of the drive has become corrupted.
anybody ever heard of this? or how i could fix this as it's a quite annoying because alot of my audio files are referenced on this partition, so itunes or Cubase (audio sequencer) can't find my files now.

How is it possible to correct this error?

Fill out table YMBUZ
Push button 'Customizing'.
Choose 'Continue without specifying project'.
You get a list of all customizing lines influencing the chosen table.
Select the applicable line.

I never faced such an issue. Let me explain this with a scenario.Suppose you want to enhance BP_HEAD component.Your SAP system client is 510.So for this client, you will be having an entry in the view-BSPWDV_EHSET_ASG.Lets say your enhancement set defined in this view is ZTV_INIT. Now go to transaction bsp_wd_cmpwb, enter BP_HEAD in component and ZTV_INIT in Enhancement Set.Click on Display.Then you need to click on enhance component button.It will create a new Z-BSP application which contains all the information of the views you will enhance.Then whatever view you need to enhance, just select->right click->enhance.

I nevertheless get to the main screen of the Petstore as if everything
worked well. In fact, it seems like the DB got populated somewhat
correctly; only tbe named sequence tables are unchanged (btw: are the
named sequences expected to be auto-created with
create-default-dbms-tables enabled ?). The strange thing is that every
correct row (in my case having the even IDs) is followd by an all (except the
odd numbered ID field) "NULL" row. This does not happen in all
...EJBTABLEs --- Address and ContactInfo for example are affected, but Profile
is not.
It seems as if ordering a rattlesnake would work well, even though more
of the same type of Execptions appear in the jdbc log. I suspect that the
trouble will start when the 10 cached ID are exhausted.
Any ideas?

Performance problem with transaction log

We are having some performance problem in SAP BW 3.5 system running on MS SQL server 2000.The box is sized 63,574 MB. The transaction logs gets filled up after loading data in to a transactional cube or after doing selective deletion. The size of the transaction log is 7,587MB currently.
Basis team feels that when performing either loading or selective deletion, SQL server views it as a single transaction and doesn't commit until every record is written. And so as a result, transaction logs fills up ultimately bringing the system down.
The system log shows a DBIF error during the transaction log fill up as follows:
Database error 9002 at COM
> [9002] the log file for database 'BWP' is full. Back up the
> Transaction log for the database to free up some log space.
Function COMMIT on connection R/3 failed
Perform rollback
Can we make changes to Database to make commit action frequently? Is there any parameters we could change to reduce the packet size? Is there some setting to be changed in SQL server?
Any Help will be appreciated.

if you have disk space avialable you can allocate more space to the transaction log.

Problem creating transactional iview for BW system

Hi gurus
We are facing one problem creating a transactional iview for a BW 3.5 system . We wanto to call transaction SU01 in our BW system using an iview. When we use SAP for html, we have all the menu on the iview , I mean the same result as if we use smen, not SU01.
And if we use SAP GUI , we are always having the same GUI Error

Thanks Bala for your quick reply. I´ve tried with function module RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET and all the settings were OK. Still the same result.
Adding more information. We have another WAS 6.40 server with different Module(we have RM and XRPM , not BW) and we are having the same problems. I am wondering if its related with some special config or activation
Maybe I´ve forgot some service activation in SICF? I´m able to reach the SMEN, but not the SU01
or I´m missing some config elsewhere?
