Problem in VL31N
Dear QM Expert,
My user requirement is inspection in against inbound delivery (vl31n), For fulfill this requirement i change configuration,
Assign inspection type in material master(01)
Assign Inspection Lot Origin (01) to Delivery Type.
and Assign Inspection Type to Delivery Category,
I create inspection plan of this material.
I create a Purchase order then i want to create inbound delivery (vl31n) then below error message show.
"Changes not possible at present because item is in quality inspection"
I already see this SAP Note (770067) but its related to Sales & Distribution.
Please provide the best solution.

Generally inbound delivery in done for imported materials.
PO is placed on vendor >material comes>inbound delivery>GR>Inspection lot
U want inspection lot between inbound delivery and GR, if this lot is rejected then GR should not be possible.
For this u can use source inspection, for material, plant and vendor combination create quality info record.In this activated source inspection. Also activate NO GR functionality.
When PO is created 1 source inspection lot can be activated. If this lot is ok then GR can be created but if this inspection lot is rejected then then GR is not possible.

HI Everyone,
I have mentioned error (Internal error in LMLCCS_UPDATEF02 LCL_DB method get_normvector position A with RC 1) only when I try to process IB GR in transaction VL31N.
This problem does not occur in other Material related transaction.
The Plan that we have problem was created many years ago and also ML was activated at that time.
We did not any changes to ML settings since.
I had revived followings notes:
639675 - Initialization of the actual cost component split
710808 - Activating actual cost comp split: check actual costing
584904 - MIRO: no procurement alternative/wrong price diff in ML
Seems like first one fit our problem the best, but in our cases we do not activated component split after the material ledger production startup and also we do not have such problem besides VL31N. In addition using above solution, even try, would lead to lost of historical data which we would like to avoid.
Does anyone faced similar issue and have an idea how to deal with this?

Problem with MM Scheduling Agreement Inbound Delivery
Hello all Gurus,
I have a problem with inbound delivery. Whenever I am trying to create inbound delivery in VL31N with the total open quantity of MM scheduling agreement, I am getting a warning message as below
"Notified quantity less than goods receipt quantity".
If the quantity was less then 80, then I should get this message.
But the total open quantity in MM Scheduling agreement in ME38 is 80. So when I am creating the inbound delivery for 80, why system is giving me this warning message????
Kindly advise whether we have to maintain any settings anywhere or am I missing something here.

Problem creating inbound deliveries
Hello to all,
i have a problem to create inbound deliveries related to PO for a specific vendor. When i try using VL31N the system result is "An item with no delivery quantity is not permitted. Item will be deleted".
It should be a problem related to the vendor because if i create a PO with same informations for another one I can create inbound delivery. I look all vendor master but i was not able to find differences.
Please can you hel me to solve this problem, it is really urgent.

my problem is that I have a quantity value and that with same informations an inbound delivery is created for vendor A but it is not created for vendor B. Line Item is "free item" in both case, it should be related to Vendor Master but I can't find the way out.

Generally for any transaciton, if you place the cursor in the input field and press F1 you will get the help. From here if you select the technical help you will see information about the field.
On here there is a parameter id field, showing BES for Purchase order number and LIF for Vendor.
You can then use SET PARAMETER ID to set the values for these two IDs and they will appear when the transaction is then called. -
VL31N - Goods receipt posting directly within creation mode of Inbound Del.
Hi,
we would like to post the Goods Receipt directly/already within VL31N, that means already during creation process of Inbound Delivery.
We don't want to save ans re-enter the transaction again.
But our problem now is that the button "Post Goods Receipt" is grey and we would like to have it activated.
We have already assigned transaction code VL31N to movement type 101 - without any effect.
How to do that?

It is not possibel to do GR during the creation of the delivery itself.
This is because these are 2 different actions and the way VL31N works and the control tables and the refrential integrity involved.
However if it is insisted, you can design a custom transaction which does VL31N and the PGR in 2 steps in background.

am using vl31n and vl33n transactions for inbound deliveries..
am able to add customer(kunnr) to the partners in vl33n transaction using xvbpa as shown below:-
xvbpa-kunnr = some kunnr.
xvbpa-parvw = some parvw
xvbpa-updkz = 'I'.
append xvbpa.
but now the problem is i have to add the same customer(kunnr) to the partners in vl31n transaction alsoo..but its not adding/coming in vl31n transaction...Does something has to be done ??
Any solution for this to get rid off from this?

Returns Processing using Inbound delivery transaction VL31N or BORGR

Our business Requirement is to use VL31N /BORGR to process the return deliveries .
The Standard Functionality of this transaction is restricted to manage the Inbound Processing (Deliveries from Suppliers u2013 Document Category u20187u2019 (Shipping Notification) .
My question is can we enhance the SAP code to process the retuns delivery .
Is it possible to achieve this functionality via Customizing .

Which kind of return delivery are you speaking about?
Yes the deivery is return to vendor .
Yes we will be create the return delivery using VL01N with reference to returns Sales Order .
But after this oulbound deilvery is created Our business requirement to use BORGR transaction to process it further.
The BORGR transaction is used for Admin Goods reciept multi GR Posting and it used to handle only the inbound deliveries only .
I want to know is it possible to completly process the oubound deliveries using an inbound dleivery transaction if we modify the SAP code .
Just want to know if i modify the SAP code using enhancements will the existing SAP code of this program support such deliveries .

I am trying to implement some kind of a server listening for requests. The listener part of the app, is a daemon thread that listens for connections and instantiates a handling daemon thread once it gets some. However, my problem is that i must be able to kill the listening thread at the user's will (say via a sto button). I have done this via the Sun's proposed way, by testing a boolean flag in the loop, which is set to false when i wish to kill the thread. The problem with this thing is the following...
Once the thread starts excecuting, it will test the flag, find it true and enter the loop. At some point it will LOCK on the server socket waiting for connection. Unless some client actually connects, it will keep on listening indefinatelly whithought ever bothering to check for the flag again (no matter how many times you set the damn thing to false).
My question is this: Is there any real, non-theoretical, applied way to stop thread in java safely?

However a loop in a Thread and that to an infinite loop is one kind of very bad programming, 'cuz the loop eats up most of your CPU time which in turn adds up more delays of the execution of other tasks (just as in your case it is the playback). By witting codes bit efficiently and planning out the architectural execution flow of the app before start writing the code helps solve these kind of issues.

Hi all,
I would like to ask you for a help. I need to write a small program at my university. I started to write a midlet which function would be to countdown time for sports activities. I woul like to start a new thread - the one that counts down - and at the same time make the main thread sleep. After the "countdown" thread finishes, the main thread wakes up and waits for user input. The problem is that when the "countdown" thread finishes his work, I've got Uncaught exception java/lang/NullPointerException. error and the midlet halts.

Your Licznik class has a member m of type monitor, which has not been instantiated (in other words is null) hence, when calling m.put() you get NullPointerException. Please also mind, that using Thread.sleep(1000) is not an accurate way of measuring time.
If I may, please use recommended for Java class naming conventions - some of your names use lower case, while other don't which is confusing to the reader.

Problem with threads within applet
Hello,
I got an applet, inside this applet I have a singleton, inside this singleton I have a thread.
this thread is running in endless loop.
he is doing something and go to sleep on and on.
the problem is,
when I refresh my IE6 browser I see more than 1 thread.
for debug matter, I did the following things:
inside the thread, sysout every time he goes to sleep.
sysout in the singleton constructor.
sysout in the singleton destructor.
the output goes like this:
when refresh the page, the singleton constructor loading but not every refresh, sometimes I see the constructor output and sometimes I dont.
The thread inside the singleton is giving me the same output, sometime I see more than one thread at a time and sometimes I dont.
The destructor never works (no output there).
I don't understand what is going on.

Problem with Threads and a static variable
I have a problem with the code below. I am yet to make sure that I understand the problem. Correct me if I am wrong please.
Code functionality:
A timer calls SetState every second. It sets the state and sets boolean variable "changed" to true. Then notifies a main process thread to check if the state changed to send a message.
The problem as far I understand is:
Assume the timer Thread calls SetState twice before the main process Thread runs. As a result, "changed" is set to true twice. However, since the main process is blocked twice during the two calls to SetState, when it runs it would have the two SetState timer threads blocked on its synchronized body. It will pass the first one, send the message and set "changed" to false since it was true. Now, it will pass the second thread, but here is the problem, "changed" is already set to false. As a result, it won't send the message even though it is supposed to.
Would you please let me know if my understanding is correct? If so, what would you propose to resolve the problem? Should I call wait some other or should I notify in a different way?

It is not easy to make them alternate since SetState() could be called from different places where the state could be anything else but a status message. Like a GREETING message for example. It is a handshaking message but not a status message.
Again as you said, There is a reason I can't call sendMessage() inside setState().
The only way I was able to do it is by having a counter of the number of notifies that have been called. Every time notify() is called a counter is incremented. Now instead of just checking if "changed" flag is true, I also check if notify counter is greater than zero. If both true, I send the message. If "changed" flag is false, I check again if the notify counter is greater than zero, I send the message. This way it works, but it is kind of a patch than a good design fix. I am yet to find a good solution.
