Problem instaling SO on a new HD

Hello
I've just bought a new hd to my HP mini , installed it , and started instaling the SO win7 from a usb drive but after the systems formats the hd says it cant create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition , but there are at least 2 created there with the same usb win 7 , need help
best regards to all

Hi
When you start from the USB you need to do a custom install of Windows 7 , when you are promted to install delete any partitions that are active then click install . That should deal with the partition problem , have you personaly created the  partitions or were they already created on the new drive ?????

  • Problems installing Windows 7 on new iMac?

I've heard from users on other forums that there are some problems installing Windows 7 on the new iMacs, mainly that the display goes blank partway through installation due to some kind of driver issue. Can anyone confirm this or elaborate? I've heard there is a workaround but it sounds a bit complicated and I'm wondering if I should just wait until Apple patches Boot Camp with full Win7 support.

I would wait until Apple updates Boot Camp to officially support Windows 7.

At that point the screen went blank and hard drive light was lit. It shuts down? Doesn't restart?
What is the difference in environment from the shop and your place?
Shutting down is normally - still - a sign of the processor turning itself off to protect itself. It's not alive long enough in BIOS, to make you see the temp?
I doubt you keep the computer in the cupboard, but it should anyway have about 50 cm free space in every direction (except downward of course).
Fredrik, The difference between home and shop, I keep the PC in a PC stand at ground level. I could improve its position slightly however, it has been sighted there for aroung eighteen months!  The shop guy didn't seem overly concerned by the 49c temp, (he thought the fan was ok) which increased to around 56c with 1.5gb ram installed. When i tried to get into bios I was probably too late hitting delete key has it went to windows scan! After the problems I'd had last week with my original hard drive I didn't want to take any more risk's! Its seems obvious the cpu temp is affected with the extra ram, any ideas?

  • Problem installing Flash MX04 after new OS install

    Hello,
I have just installed WIN XP Pro that came with SP2 on my
notebook. I am trying to install my Studio MX04 suite but when It
gets to flash MX 04, it gets to 95 percent of the install and
    shoots an error out.
    The error is the following:
    Unhandled Exception
    Error Number: 0x80040703
Description: Failed to find dll function:
    Macromedia_Licensing_Installer.CdaSysInstallEx2
    Setup will now terminate.
This message comes after being 95% completed according to the
    install progress bar.
    Background:
The notebook is a HP Pavilion zd7160us with 512 MB RAM and
    2.8 GB Processor
Totally new clean install of Win XP Pro with SP2 (just
    purchased)
Legal copy of Studio MX 2004 (just installing again after
    wipping the other OS off)
DW, FW, FHMXa, and Extention Manager all installed without a
    hitch.
Was installed previously on same notebook with XP home.
I have found other forums where people are having this same
problem but with no resolution to the problem, and all of the
inquiries seem to be linked to SP2.
I would really like it if someone knew why this is happening
    and how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    Bob

I seemed to have solved my issue!
For some reason there was a Flash MX 2004 folder in my
system, there should not have been because I formated the drive
when I installed the new OS. But I deleted that Flash folder as
suggested in another forum and the install went through fine. I am
    now downloading the updater 7.02

  • Problems installing Windows to my new SSD

    Greetings,
I got a brand new 250gb SSD Samsung 840 Evo hard drive for christmas and have run into a lot of problems trying to install it. I am currently using a 500gb HDD drive in my hp pavilion dv6-7024eo with Beats audio edition.
First i tried using the Samsung Data Migration software but it wouldn't boot when i tried it. The Windows can't find a boot device error so on to idea number 2.
Then i cleaned my SSD with diskpart and attempted a clean install. Set up my windows 7 64bit and it worked. I updated my windows and when it restart it wouldn't boot. Now I got the error  code that no hard drive is connected, I then opened up my laptop and double checked all the connections.  After that I tried to boot up again and now my good old friend the "Windows can't find a boot device blabla".
Then I formatted the SSD... again and tried setting up windows... again but now the installation won't complete.
    So my questions are..
    1) Is there something I need to change in the bios so that the SSD will work?
    2) Do I need to update my Bios Version? Currently F.29 from Insyde
    3) Is this a known problem ? Has anyone cracked the problem ?
    4) Is my computer simply not compatible with a SSD upgrade?
Happy holidays and hoping for a swift reply,
    Matthías Davíðsson

     1. Is your BIOS ACHI or legacy? It should be in ACHI setup and does the the BIOS see the drive?
    2. That you need to check on by using your P/N at HP driver support site to see if there is a BIOS update.
    3. What do you mean known problem? That a very general problem question that will be hard to define.
    4. You said you were able to format it with Windows 7 that would mean it did work.
    5. This could be that your boot up process isn't setup to make the SSD as the main boot drive. This is something you need to check on your BIOS setup.
    6. Never do a diskpart on SSD just use Win7 and delete all the parition and format Win7 is already made for SSD.
    7. This sounds like a bad Setup in BIOS thus it doesn't see the SSD as a boot drive you need to go and double check the BIOS settings again.

  • Problems installing Photoshop CS6 on New Laptop

My old laptop had a hard drive crash and is dead.  I bought a new laptop yesterday (windows 8.1) and downloaded cs6, which I had installed on the old laptop.  When I enter my serial number, a message says that no version of photoshop was found on my computer (which is true, it's a new computer).  How do I get up and running again with cs6 on my new laptop.  Thanks!

Have you tried pressing the return key?  Which Mac laptop are you using?  What are the settings you see under Resolution in the Display preference pane?

  • Problems installing an SSD on new MBP- shows up unformatted with only 8MB

Hi all... hoping you can help....
I just received my new 2.66ghz 15"MBP today as well as an Intel X-25 160GB SSD. I booted the computer with the stock drive to ensure everything was working fine as shipped... perfect.
I downloaded and installed all recommended software updates and added 4GB RAM (total of 8).
I thought I was home free when I replaced the stock HDD with the Intel X-25. After I installed the drive, I used the Install DVD to boot with in hopes of installing 10.6 on the SDD. Once launching the installer failed to recognize the SDD. Disk utility will recognize the SDD, but states the drive is unformatted and has a capacity of 8 MB (with an M).
Some google searching didn't turn up much. I am unable to verify, or repair the disk using Disk Utility, and an attempt to "erase" the disk was met with an error.
Anyone with similar experience with either MBP or SDD that can provide some insight?
    Thanks! Craig

    Return the faulty SSD.

  • Problems installing OSX on a new hard drive

My hard drive was dead/dying a few months ago and I hadn't touched it for awhile. I recently decided to take it to the apple store and see what I could do. The genius bar associate suggested I either take it to a third party repair company or replace it myself. I opted for the latter route and replaced it myself today.
When I powered it on, I gott the chime and just a black screen. I tried booting from disc by holding C, but after making some abnormal noises, it spits the CD out. I have tried this with a copy of windows vista, and it doesn't make the weird noises or spit it out, but nothing happens as well.
I'm not sure if it's my install disc, my cd drive, or if I went wrong somewhere replacing my hard drive. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Problems installing apps on a new iphone

I upgraded the software on my iphone 3gs to 5.0 and after that I can not sync my apps. I get error messag trying to sync apps stored in itunes.
Then I bought an iphone 4s, the same problem on this phone.
I have the apps also on my ipad2, I have not upgraded the software on this item.
    What is causing this problem?

I take it you're not french so you can't translate that for us right? Anyways, the new iPhone is registered with the same iTunes user account correct? First, click on Store at the top and sign out of your account. Second, click on the Store at the top and deauthorize computer. Third, restart your computer. Fourth, click on the Store at the top again and sign in with your account. Fifth, click on the Store at the top and Authorize Computer.
Let me know if that works.

  • Anyone having problems installing Boot Camp with New Mac Pro 2.8?

I just get blank screen after it restarts with XP disk. I'm using a vga - dvi adapter with a apple 17" display..
I've phoned apple and read up on here but nobody seems to know. I just wondered whether my 2008 Mac Pro was faulty...
    Please can you help?
    cheers

Are you getting a white screen after the Mac reboots? If so, try disconnecting all non-essential USB/FW devices.
I had the exact same problem and I went through a long, stressful process of elimination to get it working, even to the extent of using my MacBook as an external drive through target disk mode!
It turned out to be my iMage USB camera. Even after successfully installing Windows I have to disconnect it before using Bootcamp.
    I Hope this helps.

  • Problem installing FCE on a new Mac

Hi. I recently got a new iMac running OS10.6.4 (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics).I tried installing my FCE2 disc. After installing and trying to open........I get the message "This software requires hardware or software which is missing.......AGP graphics card". Not being a very "tech savvy" person..........I'm not sure I understand. Are new iMacs not cabable of running FCE? I also have the upgrade disc to FC3 if that helps.

    You can try this:-
    1. Try to install just the FCE 3 Upgrade . . . . . . you will need both serial numbers.
    2. If you can manage the installation, try to open the app. You will probably get an error message.
    3. Click esc and FCE may open and work . . . . . but even if it does, you will do better by upgrading to FCE4.

  • Problem installing flash 9 (nothing new I'm sure)

cuttin to the chase, bought a mac secondhand off a friend with mac os x 10.2.8 on it (explains why such an old version of os x).
been trying to upgrade the flash player (which is currently...6 i believe) to 9. have gone through the adobe site and followed all their prompts in addition to at least ten other forums upon my search for a solution, all to no avail  have tried various combinations of the following but mainly:
    - I delete the old flash plug in file and folder from the internet plug ins folder in library.
    - drag the two new plug in file and folder from the downloaded flash mount thing (ok, so my terminology ain't so crash hot...) and into the aforementioned folder.
    - exit firefox, restart computer, even go into disk utilities and run repair permissions
BUT regardless of what order I do this in, everytime I test what version I have on adobe's site or try to view something on youtube etc, nada, still the same version
now, it may be something really simple, but alas, my limited knowledge in such things prohibits me from resolve.  is there any advice from you guys? would be much appreciated. cheers!
    kind regards,
    marcus

    hi there--
i found a link with info concerning this error which recommended typing the following into terminal to resolve this issue--
    sudo chmod 775 /Library/Components
the link is here if you'd like to look over it. http://www.unibrain.com/support/FAQFire-iDC.htm seems it is a permissions error. it is not for the same thing, but the error is the same, because it is an os x error, not a flash error. you could also simply try repairing the permissions beforehand. • Problem installing Elements 8 on new Acer win8 laptop

I have downloaded my old Elements 8 program from the Wacom partners site to my laptops desktop . I still have my keys to unlock and I understand it should be compatable. I deactivated the program on my win7 desktop machine.
When I try and right click to open or run it from the desktop Icon all I get is a list of apps to run it, non of which will open or run the file -(folder) I cannot even choose run as administartor .
is this a compressed file folder? Do I first need to unzip it ?
    David

    Jeff,
The file downloads to the desktop titled  adobe- pe8 1.6 GB  with the image of a blank page, no logo or anything else,  ( takes about 8 minutes). It is a file not a folder. and the properties indicate it is indeed 1.6GB
Problem is I cannot go any further to open it, it is not zipped, and there is no choice to 'run' it ,or open an 'executable' to start a setup procedure .Upon double
clicking or right clicking the icon, all I get is "what program do you want to use to open this file" from the computer, and a pop up list many of my loaded programs, non of which a applicable.
According to the Windows compatability site Elements 8 should play nice with Windows 8.
The same thing is happening on my other Win 7 computer so I imagine the whole file is corrupt or not being sent properly by Wacom who still has it on their server in my chosen "bundled software" from when I purchased the Intuos 4 tablet.I might take it up with wacom and see if they might know what's going on.
I have loaded many many programs over the years both as downloads and from CDs, and never experienced a problem like this with any of them.
    Thanks, David

  • Problem installing latest Reader on new XP install

I recently formatted and reinstalled Windows XP on a family members computer. It's an older Dell machine, Dimension 4700, if I recall.
Everything installed fine including Officer 2007 and Bitdefender 2011 virus protection however when I go to install Adobe Reader the install hangs at about 50% and never moves again. The Adobe downloader installed fine and downloaded the app but when it goes to isntall it consistently hangs at about the same spot.
I downloaded Firefox 3.6 and tried to install via that but had the same result.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Anthony

    Hi Anthony,
Can you please let me know, which version of Adobe Reader are you trying to install on your system?
If you are trying to install Adobe Reader 9.3.4 (Which is the latest released version for Reader), can you try and install the same from the following location:
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.4/enu/AdbeRdr934_en_US.exe
    Hope this works.
