Problem printing comments in word 2010

Print Preview shows mark up and comments. The mark up is printed but not the comment itself. It actually gives the reference number for each comment and prints the added area on the right in which the comments should appear. However, the comments don't print.
Driving me mad!
Help would be much appreciated
Thanks

No problem printing them here, but check the formatting of the font in the Comment Text style and make sure that it is set to Automatic.  Under some circumstances, some printers use the color inks to create black for a font that is formatted with the
color black.
If that doesn't apply, what happens if you use Save & Send and create a pdf from the document?  Once again, here, the pdf includes the comments whether the pdf is created that way or by using the free PrimoPDF converter. Assuming the pdf includes
the comments, as a work around, you could print that.
Hope this helps.

  • Cannot change Printer Properties in Word 2010 with J6480. Properties revert to default setting

    When I attempt to change Printer Properties in Word 2010, they simply revert back to the default setting.  I am unable to use the Printer Properties within the Word 2010.  If the default is grayscale, that is all the printer will print unless I change the default setup in the Control Panel. It appears to be an incompatibility with Office 2010 software as other programs allow the change of Printer properties.

    I have the exact identical problem.  Brand new printer (HP PhotoSmart C4780) on a brand new PC (Windows 7).  I cannot access the printer properties dialog box when the PDF file has been opened in an embedded Adobe Viewer window in Internet Explorer.
    When I select [Print] from Word or Adobe Viewer, or anywhere else, I can then press the [Properties] button and it opens the printer properties just fine.
    But if I open a PDF document through Internet Explorer, clicking on that [Properties] button doesn't do anything.  No error or anything.  If I press the [Save] in the Adobe Acrobet-embedded Internet Explorer window, it too does nothing.  This leads me to think it is an Adobe Acrobat issue.  However, I have found nothing in their support forums on this topic.
    Does anyone out there have any ideas?

  • Unable to print docs in Word 2010?

    I can print only  one doc. in EXCEL but none in Word.  Printer works well on the internet.  I am a novice and wish any help to be detailed . Need all settings.

    Hi,
    Very strange. Word should use Windows default printer but please try this:

  • Font size of comments in word 2010

    I just opened the doc i have been editing and for some reason all the comment boxes have reduced font size (like 0.5). I cant really read any of them anymore and i have hundreds of them. Maybe it is because i was editting it in a mac version of MS Word yesterday.
    Either way:
    I cant seem to find a way to change the font sizes - can anyone tell me how to do it please?

    I am having the same problem, and it is relatively recent.
    I teach online courses, and the students submit files as Word documents, and I add comments to the document to be returned to them.
    Until recently, I could resize the font in the comment balloons (and even change the style so that the change would apply automatically to all balloons in the document, new and existing). The default 10pt was readable, but I found that it was easier to use
    11 or 12, using the font sizes the student had chosen to use in the document body.
    Starting a few days ago, I can NOT make the font appear in anything other a tiny font that is definitely smaller than the 10-point font. I go through the motions--changing the font size to selected text (all text in the balloon or even one specific word),
    and while the Font settings show that I have changed the size, it is not visibly larger. Even changing the style setting for Comment Text has no effect on anything visible.
    I can zoom the document to make it bigger, but then I can't see both the text in the document and my comments without scrolling back and forth.
    I have tried saving the files as Word 2010 files prior to adding comments, but it doesn't affect the performance at all. Thinking that it might have something to do with the original template used to create the document, I just created a new blank document
    in Word 2010 on my own computer, then added a comment balloon to that. While it does appear in the Comment Text style I created for my own computer (using 11-point instead of 10-point), I cannot make the text change size visibly.
    KW
    Addendum: Further experimentation shows that I can apply a different style to the text inside comment balloons, and that I can change the font size if the default Comment Text style is not used in the comment balloons. I am using the Balloon
    Text style as a workaround until problems are resolved with the Comment Text style.

  • Trouble exporting comments to Word 2010

    I am trying to export comments that I've put in an Acrobat document [using Acrobat 9.4.2] to a Microsoft Word document.  I follow the procedure described in the help documentation to do this, but I keep getting an error message that says I need to have at least Word 2002 in order for the feature to work.  I have Word 2010, so I don't understand why the message keeps popping up.  Any thoughts?

    This happens if PDFMaker is not loaded in MS Word. Try one thing - Launch MS Word 2010 and make sure that Acrobat Ribbon is getting loaded in it. There might be few reasons like Word Crashed while PDF conversion and all which disablse PDFMaker Addin in Word.
    If you find that Addin is infact disabled, enable it in Word from "File->Options->Addins->Manage->Disabled Items". Enable PDFMaker addin, relaunch Word and see it Addin loads now and try export comments again.
    I hope this will work.

  • Problem printing comments summary in continuous list

    I have made a bunch of underline comments through a large pdf in the hopes of printing just the comments and having essentially a shorter, more succinct version of the large file. When I go to print the comment summary (comments only) I end up with the comments from each page still printed on separate pages, which defeats the purpose of me trying to get a shorter document. I'd like just one, continous list of all the comments on as few pages as possible. I found some other forums (which are read-only now) that suggested using the following JavaScript to get a continuous comments summary:
    // Get the comments in this document, and sort by author
    this.syncAnnotScan();
    annots = this.getAnnots({nSortBy: ANSB_Author});
    // Open a new report
    var rep = new Report();
    rep.size = 1.2;
    rep.color = color.blue;
    if (annots) {
    rep.writeText("Summary of Comments: By Author");
    rep.color = color.black;
    rep.writeText(" ");
    rep.writeText("Number of Comments: " + annots.length);
    rep.writeText(" ");
    var msg = "\200 page %s: \"%s\"";
    var theAuthor = annots[0].author;
    rep.writeText(theAuthor);
    rep.indent(20);
    for (var i=0; i < annots.length; i++) {
    if (theAuthor != annots[i].author) {
    theAuthor = annots[i].author;
    rep.writeText(" ");
    rep.outdent(20);
    rep.writeText(theAuthor);
    rep.indent(20);
    rep.writeText(
    util.printf(msg, 1 + annots[i].page, annots[i].contents));
    } else {
    var msg = "No annotations found in this document, %s.";
    rep.writeText(util.printf(msg, this.documentFileName));
    // Now open the report
    var docRep = rep.open("myreport.pdf");
    docRep.info.Title = "End of the month report: August 2006";
    docRep.info.Subject = "Summary of comments at the August meeting";
    I think this could be a great solution, but I'm having a problem with it: it's only printing the comments for the first half of my document. At the very end of the last page it prints, some of the comments overlap, some are skipped altogether, and then it stops going any further through the comments. I tried reading through the code to see if there was some sort of max number of comments defined or anything like that, but wasn't able to debug it. Does anyone know why the code isn't printing all the comments? I'm using Acrobat 9.5.0 Pro on Windows.
    Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi,
    After you have run the code can you look at the Console to see if there is any error there?
    You may have to enable settings to have the console so on exceptions - "Edit->Preferences->JavaScript" (Acrobat->Preferences->JavaScript on MAC) under the JavaScript Debugger heading.
    Check the following
    "Enable JavaScript debugger after Acrobat is restarted"
    "Show console on errors and messages"
    Then if you rerun the code if there is an error in the script the console should show and tell you what the error was.

  • Problem Printing from Microsoft Word 2008 after Microsoft Autoupdate

    Hi
    I have a 1.83 GHz Intel Core with 1 GB 667 MHz RAM running OS 10.6.4
    I also have an HP Photosmart C4480 connected by USB
    I updated Microsoft Office via the autoupdate and now when I print from Word (and when I print pdf documents from Word) every 3rd line prints kind of lightly, so the page alternates between light and dark. I tried printing from other programs (non-Word pdfs and excel) with no problem...
    Any suggestions?

  • Problem with Office Word 2010 Print Settings not saving

    Office Pro Plus 2010 on XP2 x86
    I've installed it on a couple of test systems to test our custom macros and vsto ribbons. They all seem to work OK, except for one thing.
    The new File>Print screen - it does not remember it's settings. For example, in Word, go to the File>Print screen:
    Change Collated to Uncollated and Print.
    Exit Word and go back into Word.
    Uncollated has changed back to Collated.
    Now try the old style print dialogue (in Word 2010):
    (Create a macro and run it)
    Sub OldPrintDialog()
    Dialogs(wdDialogFilePrint).Show
    End Sub
    Tick\Untick Collate and print.
    Exit Word and go back in.
    Look at the old Print Dialogue and it has remembered it's setting.
    It looks like MS have forgotten to put code in that controls this. It works OK in Word 2000\2002\2003\2007... and will to be a problem for some of our computers when doing scripted printing, e.g. two
    copies of a 3 page invoice prints from the wrong trays! It should print 1\1, 2\2, 3\3, but prints 1\2\3, 1\2\3.
    And I've tried several different drivers and printers - they all behave the same...
    I need to set the collate option permanently to "Uncollated".
    Where is this setting stored, or is it a bug?
    Thanks
    G
    EDIT (20110303 16:18): Just took Office 2010 off the invoicing test system and put Office 2003 on - and our invoices print correctly!

    Hi,
    To specify the settings, follow these steps :
    1.
    Start Word and open the document you want to change.
    2.
    Click the Paper tab, you can do that according to the version of MS Office that you are using.
    3.
    Under Paper, click the paper size you want.
    4.
    If you want to change the page orientation of the document or its page margins, click the Margins tab.
    5.
    Select the desired options.
    6.
    To use the paper size specified in step 4 for only the active section of the document, click Selected text.
    7.
    Click OK.
    Sincerely,
    Harry

  • Officejet pro 8500A Plus Word 2010 not printing in booklet any more

    I have been successfully printing booklet mode - the reason for buying the printer. Now I cannot set the option in the printer properties of Word 2010
    I am setting the radio button to booklet and it immediately unsets :-O
    If it unsets how can I print booklet
    In the properties for the printer I have set it to print booklet by default - but it shows the pages per sheet radio button checked each time.
    But it works for PDF files...
    What is not being set correctly?

    NOTE:    The printer driver does not support manual duplexing. Two-sided printing requires an HP Automatic Two-sided Printing Accessory to be installed on the device
    found online in user guide  I am researching to find a printer that can do booklet printing

  • Duplex printing problem in Word 2010 but NOT in Excel 2010

    At the risk of repeating an old question :
    I have  Windows 7 Pro, Office Professional 2010 and an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus and two sided printing is a problem in Word.
    Excel prints in Duplex by selecting "Print on both sides / Flip pages on short edge".
    Word, though, with the exact same Setting, fails and the document is printed one two sheets of paper ... one side only.  Seems rather bizarre.
    Help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Which Word 2010 version do you use? Please try the Word 2010 14.0.4760.1000 version(We may upgrade or downgrade the version by install or uninstall the patches).
    Next, we may try the workarounds which provide by other communicators, I copied here:
    Workaround1:
    File then Print
    Go ahead and select manual print on both sides
    Go to page setup, print options, and the advanced tab. Go all the way down and select "Print on the front of the sheet for duplex printing."
    After printing the first set, I was able to just turn it 180 degrees and it worked just fine.
    Workaround2:
    As a work around I found if I ignore Words "Settings" and instead go into my printer properties, select the Finishing Tab, and select "Print on Both Sides (Manually)", the document will duplex print correctly.  Requires 5 steps instead of 3

  • Image not printing from Word 2010 to .pdf

    I have been successfully printing Word docs that contain my letterhead logo to .pdfs for a long time.  But right after I installed both Word 2010 and Acrobat Professional 9.4.1, the logo would get cut off when printing.
    I tried a lot of different settings, but just found that if instead of using the .pdf printer I simply "save as" the file as a .pdf, the entire logo prints fine.
    I just wanted to share this workaround solution in case others run into this problem.  Meanwhile, does anyone know why this might be happening?
    --Natalie

    It would be nice if you can share your file with us so that we can replicate the issue at our end.

  • Word 2010 document with images won't print to HPLJ5550 printers

    It prints fine on black and white printers (HP 4250). It's a 25-page document with images on almost every page. The file size in Explorer shows the document is 3.2mb. The printer queue window shows its 2.27mb/415 mb.
    I've tried to figure this out.
    I sent the same document to four different HPLJ5550 printers. All the same problem.
    I sent it to other printer models and it works fine.
    I sent it from different computers. Same results.
    I turned off background printing. I disabled advanced printing. I PDF'd it and it still wouldn't print.
    The issue is that we are moving to Office 2010 in May and I am responsible for training everyone. But, I can't print my training materials on 90% of our printers (HPLJ5550). Gack. What will this be like when we have all our employees trying to print and documents won't print.
    This has happened with other Word 2010 documents too. I thought it may have been the fonts in the styles. So I changed the styles to use Times New Roman and Arial. Didn't help.
    I made new styles, not based on any other style, and used TNR and Arial. Didn't help.
    I save the file back to Word 2003. Didn't help.
    I can, however, print the file fine on the one Dell 5100 color printer we have. But, that's not going to work when we have 700 users trying to print to their HPLJ5550 printers (the company default printer for all our locations).
    I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Right now I have had to go back to using Word 2003 to create the training documents for Word 2010 classes - totally not acceptable.Ugh.
    Thank you!

    I am using BB ZZ10, and my laptop has Kaspersky Anti Virus installed in Windows 7, as mentioned in the forum, i have stopped my AV, and installed the PrintToGo and still it is not working.
    I get a small window asking for my blackberry ID and Password, once i enter it correctly it give a error message, stating that cannot connect to internet or DNS not found when all other browser pages are able to connect.
    if i enter wrong password it shows password wrong and then asks for correct password, only if i give correct password it shows the error message which is a typical Internet explorer error message.

  • Acrobat X Pro does not print Excel charts from 2010 Word doc to PDF correctly

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a PDF from Word 2010 using Adobe Acrobat X and preserve hyperlinks but when I go through the PDF maker toolbar, the Excel charts in the Word file do not print correctly. They come up as large white boxes with a small grey arrow icon in the lower-right corner (looks like a "play" button). Does anyone know why this is and if there's a solution to this problem? Is there an update or a fix? I have a lot of Excel charts in the Word file...

    Hello,
    i am having exactly the same issue with Acrobat X Pro - with linked Excel 2010 tables in Word 2010.
    Has there been a resolution to this eissue - it is potentially very time consuming to work around this issue for me.
    I would post my files but I don't know how to attach them to the thread - only my second post .
