We reset back to factory settings, we had to try a few email addresses before finding one we could use. Now it is asking to verify one of the email addresses we didn't use. How do we get out of that?

We reset back to factory settings. After a few attempts we found an email we could use to set up as Apple ID. Everything was working great. Now it has pulled up one of the email addresses we tried to use, and is trying to verify, and asking to continue to complete the set up. It gets to a certain page, and stays there, won't let us get out of the page. We shut down the iPad, but it came back to the same thing, when it restarted. What do we do to stop this?

You will need another iOS device or a computer in order to do this, but I assume that's not a problem since you are on this forum.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I am facing an issue with my T420 thinkpad. I need to reset it to Factory Settings, however I do not have recovery CD/DVD or Backup.
Please guide me as to how I can do it.

There should be no problems other than the inconvenience of having to restore your iPhone to factory settings.
Except for one factor - contacts, calendar, notes, photos in the camera roll. You need to copy all of these to your computer or you will lose them. The easiest way is to sync these with apps on your computer such as MS Outlook or iCal and Address Book on a Mac. Photos are copied the same way you would with any digital camera.
The alternative is a 3rd party app that can copy files from an iPhone to your computer. iOS Data Recovery software is probably the best. It is not free, but has gotten positive reviews.

You cannot delete the iCloud account that is signed on to Find My iPhone unless you know the password. This is called the Activation Lock:
ACTIVATION LOCK
It is an anti-theft security measure that is a part of iOS 7. You can only get around this by following the steps in this support article:
Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
Contact your friend. This is the only way around the lock.

If you cannot remember the email address you used as your apple ID, try iforgot.apple.com.
Once you know your apple ID, you can try to reset your password.

Sammyhunter lets get you back in action! Has there been any physical/water damage to the device? Try pressing and holding the home and power button together. Once the Apple symbol appears release both buttons. Keep us posted!

HT1212 I found an iphone over one year ago. Its locked with a passcode. I kept waiting for the owner to call it. They never did. I went to ATT store today, they put a new sim card in it. but now itunes needs the passcode to reset it to factory settings.

I went to an AT&T store today, they put a new sim card in it. and told me to go home, log on to itunes, and restore the phone to "factory settings".But itunes says the phone is locked and it needs the passcode to reset it to factory settings.
Any workaround? Or, am I doing something wrong here?

Sounds like you may be the owner of a new phone! If you don't need or want it and no one claims it you probably can sell it. Check eBay to see what the going rate is.
You are to be commended for at least trying to find the owner. Many wouldn't.

My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode and I've tried everything but nothing works! I can't even reset it to factory settings because I keep getting the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Is there any way that I can reset it to factory settings without using iTunes?
I've searched all over the web, haven't found anything on this... I've tried all the apps that help exit from recovery mode but none of them work!

I have purchased a secondhand ipad from eBay and to reset it to factory settings it is asking for itunes log in details. I have messaged the person that i bought it from in hope that he can help. but I was wondering if there's another way to reset it without this password.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.
