Problem running SAP Download Manager

hi there,
I'm having a problem with Download manager. I've installed Java 1.4 runtime environment and i'm using a proxy to connect to the internet. I've configured the Download Manager with https://service.sap.com and my S-number and password and i've put in our server IP and the domain/username with network password. I still cant connect to my download basket.
Any ideas?
Thanks guys,
Greeshma

Hello Marcello,
If it is not in the network specifications, please check if you entered the right URL, it should be:
http://service.sap.com
Maybe this solves your problem?
Another option is to make a certificate for the SAP website, if you have done that, you can download directly from the website, instead of using the SAP download manager.
Hope you can do something with it.
Kind regards,
Hendri Wessels

  • Error message is 'The Request Error : 400' with SAP Download Manager

    Hello,
The authorization object SWDOWNLOAD (download software) is assigned to the My user ID.
But I could not download below that file.
    SAP_ABA 710 (4~8)
    SAP_BASIS 710 (4~8)
    PI_BASIS 2006_1_710 (4~8)
    SAP_BW 710 (4~8)
Error message is 'The Request Error : 400' with SAP Download Manager
I logged on to SAP Service Marketplace, software download area /swdc.
I have created objects in the download basket and have received approvals (->Maintenance-Optimizer) where required.
I start the SAP Download Manager and the objects from the download basket are visible in the object list of the program window.
After I choose "Objects for Download", the system starts the download.
In the info-line (in the lower part of the window), the system displays the message 'Processing object...' and then 'The request failed: 400'.

    Hello,
In these cases the following things should be checked:
1.- Please be sure that you are using the latest Donwload Manager version
2.- S-User and password should be active
3.- Specify the proxy. Please refer to SAP Note 155954
4.- It might be that you are not licensed for the product you want to download.
If the checkings above are correct and the problem is still alive, I would recommend you to open an SAP customer message under component XX-SER-SAPSMP-SDM providing the following information:
1.- The exactly software product name and package or stack number you try to download.
2.- Attach to the message the results of the trace file generated as per note 574885:
574885 - Download Manager: Generate trace file for analysis
    I hope this helps you.

  • When trying to start SAP download manager issue is coming

    Dear Experts
We have installed SAP download basket on windows 7 32 bit machine, Also we have installed java latest version.
While starting the download basket we are facing the " Windows error 2 occurred while loading the java VM"
    Java version installed :- jre-8u20-windows-i586
    Regards
    Ravi Kaushik

You can run the Java file directly here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP Download Manager\DLManager.jar
But if you want to fix it permanently you have to edit the file: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP Download Manager\SAP Download Manager.lax
Open it with a text editor and change:
    lax.nl.current.vm=C:\\ProgramData\\Oracle\\Java\\javapath\\java.exe
You have to change it to something like:
    lax.nl.current.vm=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Java\\jre1.8.0_45\\bin\\java.exe
Where the exact folder depends on your version.  I happen to have this version of java.  If you remove the double backslash and paste it into a file explorer you will see if the java.exe file is actually there.  Once you find the java.exe program and path you have to add the double backslashes back for the .lax file before you save it.
Once I saved this it worked fine using the .exe launcher.

  • Error while using SAP download manager

    Hi,
When we try to download patches using SAP download manager to download patches, I get the error below:
The basket content could not be read. The following exception occured:
Unable to read data form teh SAP Service Marketplace. Check your settings and try again.
I have entered all the required information i.e. s-user id, password, proxy details etc in the 'download manager configuration.'
Kindly let me know how to proceed forward.

    Hi Kunal,
I think, by now your DM must be working, but just for info.
Please check SAP Service Marketplace Address , it should be , http://service.sap.com/ and not https:.
574885  Download Manager: Generate trace file for analysis
401196  Download Manager: Proxy configuration problems.
The above given SAP notes are very useful , which can be used to analyze the issue and also gives steps to generate the trace of the Download Manager which points to the issue. I resolved my DM issue with the above SAP notes.
Steps mentioned in the SAP note 401196 - Download Manager: Proxy configuration problems to trace out the issue:
    Open a command prompt.
CD to the directory where you installed the Download Manager.
At the prompt, type "java -Djavax.net.debug=all -jar DLManager.jar dlmanager.Application".
The Download Manager will be started. You are able to see detailed debugging information in the command prompt window. Note that it is also possible to write this output to a file.
Do let the forum know if your issue is resolved or not.

  • A problem on Sap Solution Manager

    Hi all,
I got a problem with Sap Solution manager and i hope that you will be able to help me…
I’ll try to do my best to be understood in English =)
So, here is my goal :
I want to use SolMan as a workbench for test with eCATT. I made a very simple test with the transaction SECATT : A script for a customer creation by the transaction XD01.
This script works well, so I’ve done the “test configuration”, the “Test data” and the “system data”.
At this point, I don’t have any problem. If I launch the test, it works. (Important point maybe : I work in remote from an environnement dedicated to SolMan toward a production one).
When I try to put this test in SolMan, there appear my problems.
I don’t really know SolMan for the moment, but it seems that I have to begin  by the transaction “SOLAR01” which lead me to the “Business blueprint change”. But I can’t modify anything in it, as the system always tells me the following error : “You cannot change (or There are no) Structure nodes”.
Maybe I’m not going in the good way, but I try every transaction in SolMan, like Configuration, Test plan management or project overview & Administration. I filled all field I could, but it’s not working for the moment.
I just want to know how to get my test in a workbench, in a test plan on SolMan…
    Can you help me ?
    Thx a lot
    R.P.
(P.S : Of course, if you got a step by step document, I would be pleased to receive it ! =))

    Hello Papillon,
What I understand from your contribution: You do not seem to have a problem working with the Test Workbench in general but would like to know how to work with the Test Workbench as integral part of SAP Solution Manager.
The basic idea of SAP Solution Manager is that you have the possibility of doing a process-oriented testing (instead of straight module or functioned-oriented testing with regular Test Workbench functionality).
This is why in SAP Solution Manager you would start of with setting up a project (in transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN), in which you define a <i>process-oriented</i> blueprint structure in the next step (transaction SOLAR01) and attach test cases to your process-oriented structure (in transaction SOLAR02) afterwards.
You will find a guide dedicated to testing topics in SAP Solution Manager here:
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000213552006E">http://service.sap.com/form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000213552006E</a>
This guide should provide sufficient guidance and walks you through the whole process, explaining why and how you operate the above mentioned transactions and much more.
    Best regards,
    Doreen Baseler

The Adobe download manager seems to cause all sorts of problems, so I never use it.  I usually download executable installers from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

  • Problem with safari download manager

I'm having the following problem how do I download do not stop when I close Safari, is there any way, eg when I'm downloading xcode and closing the browser it is stopped and can not resume from where it was, I ask how it assists , would act as a download manager ..

If you're using Safari to download and not any 3rd-party download app, such as SpeedDownload, then don't quit Safari until the download is finished. IIRC, what you're describing is normal behavior. The 3rd-party download apps have the features that you want.

If I follow the installation manual and start sapinst nothing happens as you could see in the log below. If I start "./startInstGui.sh" I get an error message. Does any body have an idea what is wrong on my system why the installation GUI is not starting up?

I downloaded from the SDN the SAP Solution Manager (exe File) to a 64 bit machine.
But when I double click the EXE-File to start the installation  I get the following error message:
....exe is not a valid win32 application.
The machine is a 64 bit one so I woinder what the win32 is required?
All the solutions I can find are talking about virus etc.. but I do not believe this.
    Any feedback?

    Hi,
yes DLM is a java application but normaly it should be installed via the exe file. This is what I wonder.
    I just did the following:
    Manual installation
Download the Download Manager Java Archive (958 KB).
Copy it to a directory where it can permanently reside:
Open a shell ("command prompt") and change directory (type: cd 'the directory name') to the directory to which the Download Manager Java Archive was copied.
At the prompt, type: java -classpath "DLManager.jar" dlmanager.Application
The Download Manager application starts up
And it works now by this means it be started.
But I wish to install it and be also listed under the installed programs.
Anyway I can live with this now
    Thanks
