Problem with COMMIT WORKS command

Hello all,
Ive a little problem. It seams that I dont understand how commit work command works. When Im calling transaction with USING parameter:
CALL TRANSACTION 'FPSA' USING itab_bdcdata.
When inside of that transaction Commit works occur, than commit is being executed and transaction is ending which is not good, because there is still code left that should be executed.
When I run transaction without USING
CALL TRANSACTION 'FPSA'
Everything works fine. Ive tried using UPDATE addition in CALL FUNCTION, but without result. Does anybody know what is the problem?

This is meant to work exactly as you described:
A transaction called with CALL TRANSACTION USING returns right after COMMIT occurs - if you don't provide any additional options.
There is a way to make such transaction continue with the code after the commit. You just have to use "OPTIONS FROM" addition of the "CALL TRANSACTION" statement - parameter RACOMMIT.
For more information put the cursor on CALL TRANSACTION statement in your abap code and press F1.

"Problem" with COMMIT WORK AND WAIT

Hi everyone!
I'm facing the following situation:
I have a Z program that calls MIGO, via CALL TRANSACTION. The only thing I do when calling this is filling a few fields, so the user has to complete the operation before going back to Z program.
When someone executes MIGO in the normal way, I mean, without a CALL TRANSACTION command, there was a additional step, a modification made in the standard code for someone before. But this part of the code didn't execute when calling MIGO via CALL TRANSCATION.
What I have found out is that just before this code inserted, there was a COMMIT WORK AND WAIT command, and was exactly in this point that, when using the first aproach, it leaves MIGO.
Is there a way to execute the entire process in MIGO, I mean , do not leave it at COMMIT command? I've tried to pass at CALL TRANSACTION command diferent UPDATE parameters (i.e: 'S', 'A' and 'L'), but it didn´t work as well.
I hope you could get the point!

I've just found out something interesting about that.
When I make a CALL TRANSACTION, without passing a table bdcdata, the transaction doesn't leave at the COMMIT WORK command.
So, I think it won't work with the bdcdata!

BAPI_REQUISITION_CREATE Problem with COMMIT WORK AND WAIT

I ran into an issue and wanted to get your opinions about what might be happening.
This is my original code that did not work correctly using COMMIT WORK AND WAIT. After the select statement, lv_count was zero even though there were PR items that had been created. I'm thinking that the database update was not complete, but why would that be?

This is my corrected code that works. I removed the AND WAIT from the commit statement and added a separate wait statement. I now get the correct number of PR items that were created.

If you were able to see the message 'Purchase requisition number & created' it means that the macro macro_end is getting executed within which the COMMIT WORK statement is encapsulated.
I have quickly developed a dirty program to test the behaviour of 'SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL' and it seems to work as expected.
Everytime I executed the below program with 'SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL', I see the value of lv_count as 1000, however if I execute the below program with out the statement 'SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL' the value of count varies everytime, typically around 10 - 15, however the database is successfully updated with all the 1000 entries, this makes me believe that the 'SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL' statement will infact make the subsequent COMMIT synchronous.

Problems with the vba command sendkeys in Access 2013.

Hi, I have problems with the vba command sendkeys in Access 2013.
I use a text field (no control) in a form. By means of the VBA command SendKeys "+ {DELETE}", 1 I get the text in memory from the text field, then place (paste) the text in a Word document. The command line sendkeys
is followed by moving the focus to a particular control. In Access 2003, which went smoothly. Now the sendkeys command is executed only in Access 2013 in the control that then receives focus. If the procedure ends with the sendkeys command then it works well.
The procedure with the sendkeys command is activated by a button on a form.

What did you mean that you no control? And how did you get the text in memory from the text field? Also I am not able to understand the exact reason that the command doesn't works in Access 2013.
And based on the test, sendkeys "+ {Delete}" works well for me when I set a focus for the textbox control. Here is th test code:

Problem with comma and point

Hello,
I have a problem with comma and point in a double-digit.
I use a english driver for HM8142. When I get the values then I only get
int-digits. How can I change "Use comma as separator" . I tried to change
the option in LabVIEW.
I changed it, then I got the window. "To change, restart the programm". I
have done this. But when I have a look at the option, it is not changed.
What can I do?
I am not the admin on the computer.

Hi Martin,
you do not have to change any system settings neither in LabVIEW nor in your windows.
All instrument drivers should use a point as decimal separator. You can overwrite the decimal point handling in the string functions "Scan from string" and "Format into string".
Make a right click on the function and use "Edit Scan String". In the dialog open the ring under "Selected operation", the last entry allows you to set the character for the decimal separator. This separator will be used for all the following floating point numbers.
From your name and problem I think you are located in central europe. I do not have a german version of LV so I cannot tell you how the elements are named in german.

Problem with 'Edit Locally' command -- Due to IISProxy?

We have a problem with 'Edit Locally' command since we are using Windows Authentication. Our architecture is:
SAP EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 28 (Solaris)
IIS Proxy (Windows 2003)
The situation is:
If we access to SAP Portal using old url (directly to Solaris) using form-based authentication we do not have any problem with 'edit locally' command.
However, if we access to SAP Portal using IISProxy and Windows Authentication we get an 'Operation failed' error message.

Now, we have tested with version 1.5.0_01 plugin version but the result is the same: 'Operation failed'
This is a very important topic to solve before installing Windows Authentication in a productive environment.

No you just need to turn on Tap to Click. Go into System Preferences - Trackpad and click the Point to Click tab and select the first box which will say Tap to Click and you should be in business.

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13 version. Evidently something in that extension isn't compatible with a Firefox security fix. Disable that extension or un-install it.

AppleWorks has never been available for legal download.
Have you done the usual trouble shooting steps:
Quit AppleWorks
Delete most or all of the Recent Items list.
Remove the Preferences files to the Desktop or to the Trash.
Launch AppleWorks to see if the problems remain.
You'll find Recent Items in:
username > Documents > AppleWorks User Documents > Starting Points > Recent Items
There are several preferences files.
Go to:
username > Library > Preferences
Locate, select and delete the file com.apple.appleworks.plist
Still in the Preferences floder, locate and open the folder AppleWorks.
Select and delete the two Cache files and the Preferences file.
Button Bars is also a preferences file, but may be left where it is IF you have no problems that appear related to the Button Bar, and wish to preserve any changes you've made to the Button Bar.

Problem with FNDLOAD upload command for Concurrent Program

I am facing a peculiar problem with the FNDLOAD command.
My customer has a concurrent program which is running fine in Prod, and now they have requeseted for a change in the program, the change requested was to modify the parameters and the name of the program. I have done the changes and when I try migrating this change from DEV instance to IAT using FNDLOAD commands it is not getting migrated. There does not seem to be any problem with the LDT file, There is no error message in the log as well.
However I have noticed something very peculiar.* In the target instance (IAT) , when i run the FNDLOAD command directly the migration is unsuccessful but when i delete the existing parameters of the prog and rename the concurrent program and then run the FNDLOAD command the migration is sucessful and the changes are getting reflected!!. I dont understand why this is happening. This is happening in preprod as well , the migration is unsucessfull initially when i directly run the command, when i modify the name and parameters of the prog and then run the command the migration is sucessful. Now i do not have access to prod and this trick of changing prog name and parameters cannot be done in prod , so I need a proper solution for the migration.
Any pointers to resolve this issue will be helpful.

Do you get any errors in the log files?

Issue with Commit Work and Wait.

None of the programs are working in my system which are calling BAPI BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
On COMMIT WORK AND WAIT statement, the process is going into indefinite loop. Everything was fine till last Thursday and there are no updates or patch level change or notes applied in the system.
Please advice.

Normally it's much easier to get help if you try to be as detailed as possible when explaining the problem and what exactly you have tried. No offense, but tried everything most likely translates into almost everything...
Some information/checks I'd be looking for:

<li>What functions are (or coding is) involved? Are they all standard or custom?</li>
<li>Have you tried update debugging and/or the usual traces (runtime analysis, SQL trace, etc.)?</li>
<li>What do you see in the process overview?</li>
<li>What about system log, developer trace, database logs/alerts, etc.?</li>
</ul>
Obviously my list is much too short and incomplete - yours must be longer. If you share your results (including your exchange with SAP) I suspect you have a better chance (though of course no guarantee) of somebody providing a valuable clue.
Not sure if it's just me, but the part that sounds so odd and suspicious is that you only mention commits via BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT. As this is just a wrapper around a COMMIT WORK I'm tempted to think it's the functionality that's invoked before (i.e. linked to the registered update functions/modules). Without any additional knowledge though, my first shot was for general update problems (which you ruled out).

I don't want to attempt an upgrade again, only to have to turn around and degrade so my activities can work. Airport Extreme Utility problem with Vista (works with XP, MacOS)

Hi,
I just setup a new Airport Extreme network at my house, and most things are working fine. I have wirelessly connected at various points an Airport Express (using WDS), a MacBook Pro (OSX) and an IBM Thinkpad. I have several wired machines as well.
My problem: The wired machine I use to configure and setup everything is a Vista Ultimate machine. Unfortunately, the Airport Utility won't connect to the Airport Extreme (or Airport Express for that matter) from Vista. The utility works fine from XP or OSX, but not from Vista. Note that I'm using this in a wired capacity. The Vista machine is directly connected to the Airport Extreme, while several other machine are connected through a GBit switch.
Any help would be much appreciated? Is this a Vista security problem or an Airport Utility problem with Vista?

It's most likely a security issue with Windows Vista. Vista has the ability to set "compatibility modes" for applications.
Try:
1. right mouse clicking the Airport Utility's .exe file.
2. Click the Compatibility tab. Change the Compatibility mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
3. Now go down to "Privilage Level" and check the "Run this program as an administrator"
Apple never tells you this but you must connect to the Airport Extreme wirelessly. Now run the Airport Utility. You should see it.

Problem with unix "foreach" command

I am facing a problem with unix command "foreach". I trying to process files using unix foreach command. When running the script with 500 or 1000 files. It is running fine. But when I am trying to the script with 2000+ files. Its throwing an error "Arguments too long".
below is the syntax I am using in the script:

UNIX/Linux systems expand wildcards onto the command line before invoking the
individual commands. In effect, the shell rewrites the command line you give
substituting the wildcard expansion. There is a limit to how long this command
line can get.
For example, suppose you have two files ("foo" and "bar") in your directory.
The line:
foreach name (*)
echo $name
endgets rewritten to:
foreach name (foo bar)
echo $name
endand then the shell starts interpreting your script. So if you have many, many
files, the rewritten line becomes:
foreach name (f1 f2 f3 ... f10927)
echo $name
endso chances are the "foreach" line simply gets too long. To avoid problems do
it this way; it avoids any problems based on how many files you have:
ls | while read name

echo $name
doneThis way the shell never exceeds its line length limitations because the
wildcard is never expanded.
