Problem with increasing input field length in module pool programming.

Hi All,
I have created a screen in which i have used table control wizard. In my table control I have an input field. The problem is, this input filed only takes 23 inputs at a time. I need to make this field unfixed. This is an quantity field. I am not understanding why this is happening. Can anybody plz help me in this regard ?

Add one button by name ADD LINES : give func code 'ADD'

How to validate the field values in module pool program?

Hi Guys
 I am working with module pool programming.
 Here I want to validate the fields like below.
 with out filling all the fields if I click SAVE option it has to show a message that all fields has to be filled. This can be done by checking all the fields individually.
 I think it can be done through LOOP AT SCREEN ......ENDLOOP. sequence.
 If it is possible, can anyone help me?

You need to write the Module in between the CHAIN and ENDCHAIN statment in SE51
If you send a warning or error message from a module <mod> that you called using a FIELD statement as follows:
CHAIN.
FIELD: <f1>, <f 2>,...
MODULE <mod1>.
FIELD: <g1>, <g 2>,...
MODULE <mod2>.
ENDCHAIN.
all of the fields on the screen that belong to the processing chain (all of the fields listed in the field statements) are made ready for input again. Other fields are not ready for input. Whenever the MODULE statement appears within a processing chain, even if there is only one FIELD attached to it, all of the fields in the chain (not only the affected field) are made ready for input again, allowing the user to enter new values. If the fields in the processing chain are only checked once, the PAI processing continues directly after the FIELD statement, and the preceding modules are not called again.

Data type selection Problem in ztable to use in the Module Pool Program

Dear Experts,
I have created a z-table which is used in Module Pool Program in which i have to save the information saved by the endusers in z-table. But the problem comming is that the amount of information saved by the endusers is so havey & our table is just limited for the 50 characters which is not sufficiet. So I urge you to please tell me what & which type of data type should I have to use to store maximum amount of information in our zt-able which is available in SAP ECC6.0.

u can resolve ur problem in following ways,
1. You can declare the field in a table without an Data element.
i.e. In the length field . using F4 help in length field how many characters u want u enter.
2. In the same u can search for an standard data element and use the same.
3. Creating an custom data element .

Make use of a Variable,say gv_flag, for both Activate and Deactivate functionalities. As many times you hit the same button, change this variable value. For example, let us say first time you hit this button, assign value 'X' to this variable. Second time you hit this button, assign value ' ' to this variable. In PBO based the variable value you have to Activate and Deactivate.

Problem with time input field

Hi,
I have an input field which mapped to a context attribute of type Time. When I try to enter any value during runtime I have a small message in the bottom of my webpage ( Error during parse, please give a value in form 10:11:12 AM ). After that I should enter a good value otherwise I cannot do any other action.

Hallo Younes,
that's the purpose of implicit validation based on the dictionary type definition.
By default the format of the built-in type 'time' is "hh:mm:ss a" but you can easily change this format by defining your own simple data type. Name this local dictionary type MyTime, select the built-in type 'time' and then specifiy its format (tab 'Representation') via "hh:mm". In this case the generic validation will accept '12:10' as input field value.

Validations on the screen fields in a module pool program

i am creating a sales order against a purchase order ,i am selecting a PO click on a button to call another screen which has all the mandatory fields of the SO i want validations on the screen fields or the input fields as when i enter the header data and the items data and the partner data from the input serach help that is already enabled on the screen fields ,if there is any mismatch among the fileds and an error message is displayed for example:-" material no 100-100 does not exist for sales area" then only that field where this message is present should be field enabled and the rest of the fields should be field disabled.
also the error message i m displaying is in short text form and not in long text i clicked on it (long text) however how to use it was not known to me .

This would be quite opposite of what h_vakz does. h_vakz gives Sales document based on Sales org..and you want vice versa. Create a simple SH with
selection method : TVAKZ

VKORG as exporting only. So when you enter an AUART you get all VKORG it is defined in. I'm not aware of a standard search help which matches the requirement. If anybody does please help me.

Problem with list box in table control (Module pool) .

Applying search help on the screen fields of a module pool program

hi all

How to track changes to fields in a Module Pool Program

Hi Experts,
I have one requirement to track the changes to some fields used in the Program, The fields for tracking the changes will be maintained in a table T1, this will be changed dynamically.
There are many screens in the program and many fields in each screen.
1. How to do the coding for tracking the changes, the code should track all the changes to the fields maintained in the table T1.

The table logging concept will helpful for this requirement.(Tcode: scu3 --> give table name --> u can find changes for all fields).
Make use of concept change documents (auditing purpose used) --> CDHDR,CDPOS tables.
If you want to track changes to your own program, You need write some API to store the data.

Creation of table controls in mpools
Here you go with the complete steps for creating module pool programs using table control:
open se51, choose the icon like a table for table control . drag it and then place it in your screen . click on F6 and you will get a screen where youi need to provide the table name / field name that ( fields ) you are going to use in the screen and table control. after giving the ztable name click on get it from dictionary . you will get the list of available fields in a table. next choose the fields you wish to place in the table control , and if you want to place all fields in your table control then select every fields . after this you will get a structure which you should drag place inside the table control area .
double click on the table control , set the proper attributes, tickmark the horizontal and vertical scroll bars to appear in your TC in the screen . save , check and activate ..
following are the sample code you should follow to display datas in your table control ..
write the following code in the flow logic of the screen ............

Find which report invoke my module pool program

hi everyone,
    I have a problem of finding which report calling my module pool program.
    I have one module pool program and 5 reports. In all 5 reports i use
call transaction to fill up the screen values of that module pool program.
   Now i have to change screen output depending upon the each report.
So i have to find out which report call my module pool program
   Is there any possiblity to find out??? my client will not allow to use
SAP memory or ABAP memory.

Check this system field. This is for procedures
sy-cprog - In procedures called externally, the name of the calling program, Otherwise the name of the current program. If a procedure called externally calls another external procedure, sy-cprog contains the name of the framework program, and is not set to the name of the framework program of the subsequent calling program.

How to increase the field size in modules

Dear Oracle Team,
When we add some items in reason codes from the dictionary, it has certain limit in reason code and title. So I can increase those field size to add bigger text for title names.
I think it also applicable for the fields in other modules also. Looking your valuable support.

1. Once you add a custom field to your database, it would be made available to either your reports (BI) or your layouts in PCM.
2. When you create the custom field, you would specify the field length/type/properties. (i.e. "Char" field with 120 char field length) If you set this to one value when you create (say 120 char) and want to CHANGE it to 140 characters, you cannot do this without deleting and re-creating the custom field. I did check 14.0.3 and this continues in this version as well.
2a. Best practice is to be generous in your field sizes to avoid needing to change it later.
As I mentioned before, any default fields in the database are fixed to their set properties and the only way to change them is to submit an SR to Oracle to request the change.

Problem with the quantity field

hi every one
i am facing a problem with the quantity field (vbap-kwmeng)
as per my requirement i need to display this quantity field along with some other item fields from VBAP in an alv grid.
among all the fields displayed in the alv grid only this quantity field is editable(end user can change this quantity)
once end user changes this quantity and press save button i need to capture this new quantity in my internaltable.
problem is input of length of quantity is 15 and the output length is 19
so when i am pressing save
say my quantity is 50 when i am pressing save '0.050' is coming because of the length difference
how can i capture the original changed value.

what about define two fields in you inner table ,one as char and the other as vbap-kwmeng, you can show the char one in the ALV gird , when user input value and press SAVE ,you can move the value to vbap-kwmeng.
you can test it,mybe some one has one better idea.
