Problem with MRP area

Gurus,
I had activated MRP area for exisitng client.
The scenario is,
Within a plant i have two MRP area. One is plant level (A) and the other one is storage location level (B)
A finished good and its components belongs to both the MRP areas. (A and B) I created a Planned Independent Requirement for finished good at storage location MRP area (B) and run MRP via MD02 for MRP area B, i got a planned order at MRP area B. But the dependent requirements for the components are created at MRP area (A) plant level.
My requirement is to get the dependent requirements at MRP area B for pegged requirements of MRP area B.
Suggestion to this isue is highly appreciated.

Thank you for the reply.
Initially my client was not activated for MRP area. So when i activated MRP area, throughout my client for each of the existing plants an MRP area is created by default. So, all the materials that belongs to the plant, by default belongs to the plant MRP area.(A)
I created one more Storage location level MRP area (B) and assigned that to MRP 1 view of the finished good and all of its components. I also created a planned independent requirement for the finished good at MRP Area B. that is i can see the requirement in MD04 screen only with the MRP area B and not in MRP area A.
Then i ran MRP for the finished thru MD02 for MRP Area B. I got a planned order in MD04 of MRP area B.
As you are aware MD04 screen is specific for particular MRP area.
This planned order is not displayed in MD04 screen of MRP Area A. But the dependent requirements for the components are not displayed in MD04 screen of B. But the dependent requirements are seen in MD04 Screen of MRP area A.
As per my understanding the dependent requirements of components should be displayed in MD04 screen of B as my pegged requirements are from MRP area B.
Kindly suggest and please let me know if any thing is not clear.

I am facing a problem with MRP. In my Implementation, my Client is a Automobile Gasket Manufacturer.
One major product line is Gaskets which is high volume and low price
We will use Make to stock with streategy 40.
Now the queries are as follows-
1) What should be the frequency of MRP Run for the plant (weekly , monthly of daily)
2) If after one MRP Run- some Planned Orders and some Purchase Req are converted to Production Orders and Purchase Orders. My Prod Orders- 100 Pieces and PO is 1000 Kgs.
Now subsequently , due to change in schedule,(PIR is maintained by Sales Department and it changes often) lets say, my PIR is Changed from 100 to 10 Pieces ,
How can a PPC person come to know of this and inform the Buyer to foreclose the PO or amend the PO and as well change the Prod order also.

Hi Praveen
1) What should be the frequency of MRP Run for the plant (weekly , monthly of daily) : Daily Basis as your demand changes frequently.
2) PPC will understand from MD04 screen where all the result of MRP as Stock Requirement List available.U cant change Production Order while running MRP as your demand changes from 100 to 10 pecies because Prodction Orders are firmed recipept.In that case you can change quantiy , do the availablity check and scheduled again or set TECO so that it will not show up in the MD04 screen also.
Any changes to demand and subsequent effect can be viewed through the exception messeges column in MD04/MD05

Subcontracting with MRP areas / Customer consigment

Dear all,
I'm currently looking for some information regarding subcontracting processes with MRP areas.
On the first hand I need a general overview how subcontracting purchase orders would be handled with MRP areas. In addition I'm really interested in the replenishment of the subcontractor stocks. On the other hand some facts about the customizing would be fine.
My second topic is consigment stocks at the customer. So I need similar information as for the MRP areas but regarding this customer consigment.
It would be really great if someone has some literature recommendations or official documentations about these issue.

Hi Enrico,
Working with subcontracting and MRP area's gives you the option to plan the requirements for the subcontractor separately and you can then order the components separately. This functionality is used when working with scheduling agreements and direct deliveries to the subcontractor as there this is a requirement.
A second instance where one would use and MRP area with sucontracting is that when a material is used both by the subcontractor and it's also used directly in the plant production. The requirements for the subcontractor can be separately planned using an MRP area.

Subcontracting with MRP area

Hi,
we have a FERT material that is in the MRP area by storage location.
This material was produced internally. When we ran MRP the requirements and planed orders for FERT material and its components were showed in MRP area. It was ok
Nowadays this FERT material was changed to subcontracted.
We don't have a defined supplier for FERT material.
When I run MRP the requirements and planed orders for FERT material are still in MRP area.
When we run MRP for components, the requirements and planned orders go to MRP plant.
This way if we have in MRP area documents placed to cover the requirements from FERT material, MRP will suggest to cancel them. In MRP plant the MRP will suggest to create another documents to cover. How can We avoid this problem?

Hi Elaine,
If your FERT material is set to F , 30 then your MRP run in MRp Area will not create any dependent requirement.
Assuming the setting is X in Material Master,
Given an option please remove the MRP Area planning and the PIR related to that and shift PIR for you FERT material to Plant level in mD61,MD62. This should avoid Planned order getting created in MRP Ara and Plant.
in my past experience unlesss you want to do Planning run with Scope as planning as Vendor th euse of MRP Area for planning for PIR leads to confusion for End users.

Problem with MRP running

Hello Gurus,
i have a problem with my product. lets take an example. my semifinished product abc is made up of a, b and c.
i have made them(abc, a, b and c) to use MRP type VB. i made palnning file entry and BOM and then i run the MRP.
I run single item multilevel MRP for semi-finished product abc, it showed me result in MRP running only for abc but not for a, b and c.
can u please tell me where i am making any mistake.

Hi Maggi,
If you have used mrp run for single item,single level planning (ie) md03, it will plan only for that particular material & will not plan for the dependent material in the BOM.
If you run with t.code md02, MRP run for single item,multi level, all the dependent requirements will be planned.
Also VB is for reorder point planning. ie if you maint reorder level as 100 for a,b & c materials & if the stock goes below 100, say 50 Nos. for all the three material. Then procurement proposal(Pur req) will be created for 50 nos for all the material(a,b,c).
If you use MRP type PD, there is no question of reorder level, during mrp run system check the stock of the dependent requirements. If there is a shortage procurement proposal are created.

Replenishment delivery for material with MRP areas and Avl Check

HI We have MRP area at storage location level maintained for materials. Stock exists in the plant in the storage location which is part of the MRP area.
Now when I create STO and try to create delivery for the same, system is giving message 0 stock available and not creating delivery. Material has 02 Avl Chck group.If I deactivate the MRP area in the material master, it allows creation of delivery.
How can I ensure that system creates delivery even though stocks exist in MRP area relevant sloc only in the plant?

1) According to SAP when inbound deliveries are used and your delivery item category is set up for mvt type 101, these should be received with transaction VL32N. If you use MIGO/MB0A instead the GR status in the delivery will not be updated. If you then report on open deliveries you'll notice that nothing is received in the course of time. Amazing. Now if you set up the delivery item category without the movement type your inbound will not even be GR relevant. Just one of these things that's nice to be aware of.

Problems with CC are REALLY getting old.

I spend a great deal of my day trying to get Adobe CC to work like it should. Right now I have a spinning beach ball on the Desktop app and the AAM never seems to work. It just sits there in the DOCK bouncing it's little self to death...
I CONSTANTLY have to change the OOBE file so I can RE-DOWNLOAD and RE-INSTALL. After I do that, about a day later I have to do it all over again. I can't tell you how many times I've run permissions repair and various other time consuming things trying to get this stuff to work. And by the way, were are a three bay editorial shop and all three bays have problems with ADOBE CC programs.
Come on guys. I use this software professionally and have NEVER had so many problems with a program. Yesterday AE, PP and Photoshop ALL said they were needing to be reinstalled! I spend at least half a day just trying to get this CC stuff to work.
Seriously it is flawed and not ready to be released to the professional community. We need these programs to work - day in, day out. We don't need to be contantly "Upgrading" "Re-installing" Re-downloading" and changing numerous files to "OLD" to get your stuff to work.
And the on-line staff in India is really a joke. I've not had them EVER solve a problem! The only solutions are from other users that have found work arounds. (Still have the spinning beach ball on the CC Desktop app....) How many other programs require you to constantly open Activity Monitor and KILL them there because they won't even Force Quit? I suspect ONLY ADOBE CC programs.
Please: GET IT FIXED!
(yeah, that spinng beach ball is still there..)

I got it fixed by a round about way. Another user wrote a script that allows you to kill all the running programs and clean up so you can do the new install. You can do a google search for: Adobe CC Updater Fix 2.workflow

Problem with Stacked area chart

Hi all,
I'm working on delivery data according to month having input(combo) as the year. I'm trying to display the data in percentages in Stacked area chart having series as ontime delivery, 1 week late, 2 weeks late,........5 weeks late and category labels as months. The problem is when I take the Preview of data I get to see the data for ontime, 1 week , 2 week as it should be but when I hover the mouse over the 2 weeks data area mouse over values shows 5 weeks data(0 %) where as in reality the colored area belongs to 2 weeks data. I tried to delete 5 weeks series data and now it shows as 4 weeks data.
What could be the problem ?

Problem with depreciation area (Incorrect currency exchange rate is used)

Good day to all SDN forumers!
I'm having a problem with one depreciation area that we set up. The reason why we configured this depreciation area is for us to enable to monitor all asset postings in another (group) currency aside from the local currency. We set it up in such a way that the depreciation would not post and would thus only "convert" the asset postings to group currency using the table rates in table TCURR (via OB08).
The problem is despite having defined an exchange rate for the current period, the system still picks up the exchange rate for 01/01/2001 which is incorrect. This affected all reports which displays incorrect values whenever I view the postings using the 2nd depreciation area we set up. Is there a way we can correct this?
I'd really appreciate your comments and suggestions guys. Thanks a lot and more power!

Update:
I created a new depreciation area by copying an existing area and updated some of the configuration. The problem is still there though, since the depreciation area still reflects the incorrect rate (similar to that of the previous depreciation area) whenever I access it using Asset Explorer. What's surprising is that even though I've already set the exchange rate (e.g. USD to EUR) to match that of the asset's capitalization / acquisition date, the posted values still do not reflect what I defined in table TCURR. Instead, it reflects the exchange rate used by the old depreciation area. Help anyone? We are already in a production client and transfer/retirement of all the assets is not an option the client would like to undertake.

Problems with result area in workbooks after upgrade to BW 3.5

Hi,
we are experiencing some problems with our workbooks after the upgrade to BW 3.5. When refreshing all queries in a workbook (that was there before 3.5) without selecting a specific query we get the message 'Result area cannot be found, specify a new one'. After selecting, the message appears again in an infinite loop.
Has anybody had similar problems and has found a solution for this?

Hi,
I am having that message, always if I delete a Sheet which contains an embeded query.
Even the sheet is deleted, the SAPBEX has information of all the embeded queries, and tries to find the Result area to put the data.
To find out if this is your case as well,
select an empty cell in a Sheet and continue like that, until all the embeded queries are been displayed.

Production-> Material Requirement Planning-> Master Data-> MRP Area-> Define MRP Area-> New Entry
Enter Storage Location, In MRP Type select 2 (Storage Location), Rec storage Location.

Problem with Tools Area iView Creation - Help Needed.

Hi Guys,
I am having a small problem with the Tool Area Par, I downloaded the Par and have edited it and then redeployed it on the Portal, however when I am creating an iView I am getting the Following error:
Portal Runtime Error

Availability check with MRP area at Sloc level

I am sure you have already moved on from this issue, but what you mention is a limitation prior to ECC 6. You can not identify on the purchasing document the source sloc of the supplying plant. This is why you can not create the STO between sloc MRP areas. I was told this was resolved in ECC 6.

Problem with Business area

hello,
any body please help me.
previously i have configured with business area. every thing working fine. but my client decided to work with profit center. then i have made changes with profit center, means all assignment i deleted. I changed all assignments in OKB9 changed to profit center. i have deleted business area assignment with sales area and plant.
but when i am creating sales order it is asking business area. even i am doing stock posting with movement type 561 it is giving the same message. so please let me know where i am doing wrong.

Hi,
in the "global parameters" for your company code, uncheck "Business area fin. statements".
Also make sure the field status groups you use for your accounts don't specify business area as a required field

Problem with design area in netbeans

out of no where am starting to have this problem.....my design area in netbeans is not visible....when i create a new JFrame , the code to the basic design area is
there, but when i switch to design view there is no design area. thus i can not drag any items there......am using netbeans 6.0.1 ...the problem occured out of no where , the ide used to work fine before....... i found the similar problem in this thread :
