Problem With MRP

Hi Friends,
I am facing a problem with MRP. In my Implementation, my Client is a Automobile Gasket Manufacturer.
One major product line is Gaskets which is high volume and low price
We will use Make to stock  with streategy 40.
Now the queries are as follows-
1)       What should be the frequency of MRP Run for the plant (weekly , monthly of daily)
2)       If  after one MRP Run- some Planned Orders and some Purchase Req are converted to Production Orders and Purchase Orders. My Prod Orders- 100 Pieces and PO is 1000 Kgs.
Now subsequently , due to change in schedule,(PIR is maintained by Sales Department and it changes  often) lets say, my PIR is Changed from 100 to 10 Pieces ,
How can a PPC  person come to know of this and inform the Buyer to foreclose the PO or amend the PO and as well change the Prod order also.
Thanks in Advance
Waiting for your Reply,
Praveen

Hi Praveen
1) What should be the frequency of MRP Run for the plant (weekly , monthly of daily) : Daily Basis as your demand changes frequently.
2) PPC will understand from MD04 screen where all the result of MRP as Stock Requirement List available.U cant change Production Order while running MRP as your demand changes from 100 to 10 pecies because Prodction Orders are firmed recipept. In that case you can change quantiy , do the availablity check and scheduled again  or set TECO so that it will not show up in the MD04 screen also.
Any changes to demand and subsequent effect can be viewed through the exception messeges column in MD04/MD05
Hope this will help you to figure it out.

  • Problem with MRP running

    Hello Gurus,
i have a problem with my product. lets take an example. my semifinished product abc is made up of a, b and c.
i have made them(abc, a, b and c) to use MRP type VB. i made palnning file entry and BOM and then i run the MRP.
I run single item multilevel MRP for semi-finished product abc, it showed me result in MRP running only for abc but not for a, b and c.
can u please tell me where i am making any mistake.
    regards

    Hi Maggi,
If you have used mrp run for single item, single level  planning (ie) md03, it will plan only for that particular material & will not plan for the dependent material in the BOM.
If you run with t.code md02, MRP run for single item, multi level, all the dependent requirements will be planned.
Also VB is for reorder point planning. ie if you maint reorder level as 100 for a,b & c materials & if the stock goes below 100, say  50 Nos. for all the three material. Then procurement proposal(Pur req) will be created for 50 nos for all the material(a,b,c).
If you use MRP type PD, there is no question of reorder level, during mrp run system check the stock of the dependent requirements. If there is a shortage procurement proposal are created.

  • Problem with MRP area

    Gurus,
I had activated MRP area for exisitng client.
    The scenario is,
Within a plant i have two MRP area. One is plant level (A) and the other one is storage location level (B)
A finished good and its components belongs to both the MRP areas. (A and B) I created a Planned Independent Requirement for finished good at storage location MRP area (B) and run MRP via MD02 for MRP area B, i got a planned order at MRP area B. But the dependent requirements for the components are created at MRP area (A) plant level.
My requirement is to get the dependent requirements at MRP area B for pegged requirements of MRP area B.
Suggestion to this isue is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Aravind

    Hi pravin,
    Thank you for the reply.
Initially my client was not activated for MRP area. So when i activated MRP area, throughout my client for each of  the existing plants an MRP area is created by default. So, all the materials that belongs to the plant, by default belongs to the plant MRP area.(A)
I created one more Storage location level MRP area (B) and assigned that to MRP 1 view of the finished good and all of its components. I also created a planned independent requirement for the finished good at MRP Area B. that is i can see the requirement in MD04 screen only with the MRP area B and not in MRP area A.
Then i ran MRP for the finished thru MD02 for MRP Area B. I got a planned order in MD04 of MRP area B.
As you are aware MD04 screen is specific for particular MRP area.
This planned order is not displayed in MD04 screen of MRP Area A. But the dependent requirements for the components are not displayed in MD04 screen of B. But the dependent requirements are seen in MD04 Screen of MRP area A.
As per my understanding the dependent requirements of components should be displayed in MD04 screen of B as my pegged requirements are from MRP area B.
Kindly suggest and please let me know if any thing is not clear.

  • Problem with scheduling planned orders in MRP

There is a problem with scheduling planned orders in MRP. SFG is assigned to the BOM of FG. No inhouse production time maintained in the material master of SFG & FG. routing maintained for both . In OPU5 scheduling & capacity reuiremnts tickmarked for detailed scheduling. Scheduling level - via detaied scheduling. Scheduling type - backward. Adjust basic dates , adjust dep. req. to order start set. In MD02 , scheduling is via ' lead time scheduling'.
My problem is the start date & time & finish date & time is same for planned orders of FG & SFG in the detailed scheduling tab of the planned orders. (Duration is same because of same capacity requirements on the same work centre. But how is the finish date same for both SFG & FG?)
    (Capacity requirements are being generated.)
What could be the problem ?

    Dear,
By scheduling the routing and maintain lot size dependent time in material is best practice and result of scheduling will be consistent.
If you want SFG before FG you need to define lead time offset in BOM or need to maintain the floats before production.
    Hope clear to you.

  • Problem with configuration supporting point in MD62

    Hi,
well I have detected a problem with my planned independent requirements for some materials.
The materials that are concerned are semifinished product which have an active BOM.
    Example :
material A composed with material B and C.
On the material A I have the strategy group 54. For these materials I have "VSE" PIR.
The problem is that for many materials, the VSE needs can not be seen by components.
Example, on material A, I have a VSE need on 15.02.2010, MRP generates a planned order on 15.02.2010 on material A. No problem but I have in MD04 an alert 52 for these PO.
I go to material B or C in MD04 and I don't see any needs ! The planned order needs have not been splitted to the components.
I have seen that if I go to MD62 for material A and if I click on "Configuration supporting point", everything is OK after next MRP Run but the problem seems to go back after few days.
The strange thing is that it works perfectly for some materials and it doesn't work for others materials although there is no differences between data of these materials !
Finally, I have to say that program RM60RR20 is turning every night and I have seen that there are some calls to function DELETE_SUPPOINT. Maybe this program is deleting the supporting point but it should recreate the supporting point after...
Is there anybody which know how this program is working or why sometimes my supporting point is deleted without being recreate ?
    Thanks.

    Hi Frederico,
Have you tried typing the query in query manager and are you sure you've selected the correct column? You can check the column name if you switch system information on and verifying the values in the database for that column.
    Hope it helps,
    Adele

  • Problem with prod. ver. explosion to production order

    Hi
I have problem with production versions. I have FERT with 3 production versions. Additionaly we have Z-program (on Z-table) which control parameter sold to party (from sale order) with production version. So after MRP I see in planned order right production version for example 3 - field PLAF-VERID; in master data in planned order I see right alternative BOM and routing; but when I make a conversion to production order I see that system always explode 1st version; additionaly in planned order in components (button)  I see 1st pr.ver (1st alternative BOM) and in Bill of Material (it seems like to manually expolding BOM) I see right version??? But it couldn't be like this that to have right data I need to go to transaction MD12, explode BOM manully, save and after that make a prod. ord.
I would like to system explode BOM according to production version (field VERID) already in planned order; so after that it should be that when I will converted it to production order I should have right BOM and right routing from production version signed in planned order.
I know it sounds complicated Add. in configuration all parameters are set right to explode BOM etc. etc. system version: 4.7
    Thanks and regards. Joanna
Additional info: I cancel this question cause problem is in Z-program; becuase when according to Z-table system change input in field VERID for system it is only "digital" not parameter for which system should explode right BOM; sorry for disturbing, we need to change Z-programm; I do not know how but maybe any function module can help - we will think. • Problem with Billing Engine after upgrade from CRM 5.0 to CRM 7.0

    Hello together,
The system  of our customer has been upgraded from CRM 5.0 to CRM 7.0. After that some problems occurred regarded the billing.
In the Billing Due List a dump occurs when clicking on an item and then on conditions
Dump message: No function module can be found named "/1BEA/CRMB_DL_PAR_O_DERIVE" however.
(Other classes are  new generated after the upgrade)
During the Analysis we looked to the billing engine navigator:
In the Billing Engine Navigator (Transaction: BEFN_F1) the Generation Log shows the following:
We have re-generated the Object PAR in CRMB->DL->Feature->PAR. But this shows the above displayed error message. How can we add value to the Placeholder?
Another question is which impacts does it have if we regenerate the complete billing engine for CRMB with transaction BEA_CONFIG_F1 (Configure Application)?
    BR, Anne

    Hi Nawanit,
we checked the key figure settings and categories. Everything is maintained correctly.
Since we work with MRP areas we also checked the "Global Parameters and Default Values for MRP Areas" in APO Customizing: The "Default values for Stock Transfer Documents" is set to "1" = Stock Transport Requisitions for MRP Areas.
BUT: When I try ot change this indicator I get the following message no. /SAPAPO/MRPA000:
"Process. w. stock transp. requisitions is not supported in standard sys. The process with stock transport requisitions will be supported as of SAP R/3 Enterprise Core Release 4.70 with SAP R/3 Enterprise Extension Set 2.0. ".
As far as we work with ECC 6.0, EHP4 this message makes no sense.
    Does anyone have another idea?
    Thanks

  • Problem with final issue of production order components

    Hi Gurus,
Currently we have a problem with the production order components.
The problem is that, we needed some components (components which are categorized as dangerous goods) deleted from the production orders.
So we tried to manually tick the final issue indicator and save the production order. However, the reservations reappeared after the MRP Run.
Hence, we then tried to delete the component line items, but then again the reservations reappeared.
Also, since the components are externally procured materials, new purchase requisitions are generated by MRP for these materials.
Kindly request your help on the same.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sanju

    Hi Kiran,
Please find the screenshots of MD04 for the header and component in the attachment:
    MD04 for Header:
    MD04 for Component:
For the header material no entry is available for 07.01.2015 as the status is delivered for the production order of the header material.
Kindly help me with the same.

  • Problem in MRP RUN

    Hi,
We are maintaining one field in suppose MRP field in MRP1view as "X".
In  Enhancement, we develop logic like that if in material master MRP field value equal to "X", then while creating reservation, system automatically create a PR along with reservation.
    Now My Problem is -
I created a material with MRP field as "X", MRP type as ND.
i created a resrevation for this material, system will generate PR no. 10000002.
Now i am changing MRP field as Blank, & MRP type as PD.
if now i am running MRP,system will generate again a new PR.now i have two PR for the same reservation.
    i also tried in t-code MD03, planning parameter as 3 (delete & re-generate).
so now i have two PR against a reservation,if i am checking in MD04.
so how can we control this situation,so that only one PR can create against one reservation.
OR can we exclude that reservation / storage location for MRP,then my problem will solve.
    Thanks
    Pavan

When you make enhancements you are taking responsibility that all scenarios are covered, and should not expect a solution from standard SAP.
Change the nhancement in such a way, that when you try to change from X to blank, system will issue a message saying that Preqs exist, and thus will not let change before those are deleted.
This will prevent the double coverage issue.

  • One more Problem with SAP query

    Hi All,
I am having a problem with SAP query
Execution of SAP query transaction is leading to Dump
the dump says Field 'R01' contains no fields, syntax check on the program shows same error.
When I tried regenerating the Query in SQ01
" Query Specification cannot be use to generate list

    >
I am not sure what business process you are describing here - is it some kind of third-party sales order? If so, your join is wrong.
From VB E P, firled BANFN and BNFPO you can go to table EBAN, where in field EBELN you will find the number of the purchase order (if somebody already had an MRP+Me58 run over the PR) which will lead you to table EKKO, and EKPO.
So what we have here (essentially is):
    VBAK -> VBAP -> VBEP -> EBAN -> EKKO -> EKPO
But that only solves one of your problems - you still have a long way to go to get invoices, partner and partner roles into there and I am beginning to ask myself what exactly it is you want to evaluate.
    Care to explain?

  • Problem with sales order consumption

    Hi
I hope someone can help?  I have a problem with consumption of sales orders in APO.  When a sales order comes across from R/3 it doesn't consume the forecast until a later sales order comes across, then the previous one consumes forecast.  So all sales orders consume forecast apart from the latest one on each material.
    Many thanks
    Michael

Hi Please confirm the following are right in your strategy configuration in R/3:
Strategy:         40 Planning with final assembly
Reqmts type for indep.reqmts   VSF Planning with final assembly
    Reqmts class: 101
Consumption: 1 Consume planning with assembly

  • Kanban With MRP and with External vendors

We are implementing SAP 4.7 for one of clients and here is the requirement:
They want to use Kanban with external vendors where  once  KANBAN is empty, it should create a schedule line for the defined scheduling agreement. Problem is , we have to exclude the material  from MRP in order to work with "External Purchase Orders" or "Scheduling Agreement" replenishryment category.
They   do not want to exclude the KANBAN materials from MRP but want to use KANBAN for procurement with vendors.
    Is this possible?
Because when we try replenishment strategy " Working with MRP" , SAP does not create any PO or Schedule line desite of maintaining all the data. Instead, SAP allows replenishment elements created in MRP run to flow thru and create PO/ Schedule lines.
Is it possible to include the material in plant MRP and still use external procurement kanban?

    Hi Vikas
Ia m not familiar with  asynchronous MRP.  Can you elaborate on that? What specific settings  we need to make for that?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Scheduline Agreements and link with MRP

    Dear All,
I have a problem in creating scheduline agreements ,
    As per the cilent requirement,
The scheduline lines   recevied by the client are of two types  with the difference name as "Shippment Date and Delivery Date"
here they  define  Shippment date and Delivery date as follows:
Shipment date is the date that  the material which will be leaving from the plant from the shipping point.
Delivery date is the date that  the material  will be reaching  at the customer hand
here the problem is for delivery date
if the delviery date is mentioned in the  customer  PO ,
then  the user who is entering the schedulines  in the schedulines agreeement    he has to take into account the date
( six weeks before that )  . in order to make the production person to run MRP based on this date.
    1.   Do the user has to calculate manually the dates and enter in the  scheduline coloumn or
*2.   If the person is entering the dleivery date (wht ever given by the customer )  in the schedulines. how will the  system will calculate  automatcially  six week  before the delviery date to RUN the MRP
there is no problem with Shipment Date.
the shipment date will be entered as it is, and based on that  MRP will be run

Shipment date is the date that the material which will be leaving from the plant from the shipping point.
In SAP, GI date is the date, when the goods leaving from the Plant premises.
Delivery date is the date that the material will be reaching at the customer hand
Delivery date, specifies the date , when goods will be expecting at customer site ( this date will be determined from GI date + Transit duration in Route master).
    1. Do the user has to calculate manually the dates and enter in the scheduline coloumn or
No need to calculate the dates manually. This Calcuation will be done based on your customization in Route Master ( Transit Duration). but delivery dates has to be entered manually in Schedule lines tab in Scheduling agreements.
*2. If the person is entering the dleivery date (wht ever given by the customer ) in the schedulines. how will the system will calculate automatcially six week before the delviery date to RUN the MRP
Based on Delivery date/ GI date/ Pick pack & load time = Material available date will be determined. This Material available date  then transferred to prodcution.

  • Problem with a Standby Database

    Hello,
if have some problems with a special standby database. why special? because i try it whit another, which was newly build with oracle tools and everything works. I mean the redo log transfer and the log apply and everything.
At first I try to use the DGM, to guide me through the process, but this manager didn't start to copy anything of the database files. So I make an offline backup from the database as you can see in the oracle data guard doc. later on I used the DGM again to build a data guard configuration. Everything seems to be fine. But then I get ORA-16778: log transport service for some site has an error AND ORA-16766: physical apply service unexpectedly offline.
I don't know what to do now. I really try to help myself but it always stop at this point.
By the way ... merry Xmas!!!

    Hi,
ORA-16766: physical apply service unexpectedly offline. You must check in the alert log why the MRP is going down, the info is in this file.
In order to get more comments, give us a "snapshot" of your install:
    . Release
    . Configuration
    . Folders structures
    . init file (pfile/spfile) contents
And paste the MRP error stack from the alert log.
    Regards,
    Yoann.

  • Supplier and subcontractor one after another - problem with PR and SchedLines

    Hi,
    We have following business scenario:
We buy material A from supplier 123 and send it directly to subcontractor 456 from which we received processed part B. Due to logistic cost involved in the process, we receive material A directly at subcontractor 456 and not in our facilities. So we have created a normal LPA-type scheduling agreement for material A and supplier 123 and in the "vendor to be supplied/who is to receive delivery" field (EKPO - EMLIF & LBLKZ) we have put our subcontractor 456.
The problem we have is that even though we have correct subsequent requirements for A and we set the source lists correctly and run the MD02 the way it should be done, the MRP creates only purchase requisitions and not the scheduling lines.
Any clues what can be wrong?
    Regards,
    Radek

    Hi Caetano,
Ok it took me some time, because I had to activate MRP Areas (and since it's done on client level and there is no way back from the conversion, I had to ask for a special server for testing).
I followed pretty much the scenario in the document (except SD and EDI part which I don't need) but I got stuck again.
I have created MRP area for 456 subcontractor and I have assigned it to the A material. The thing is that either I don't understand MRP Areas (it's something new for me) or the requirements are not passed correctly. I mean, I run MD02 for B (with "Also plan unchanged components" and "Display material list" and MRP Area on the plant level) and it plans B and creates planned orders for A (on the MRP Area=plant level). So later I run MD02 just for A with MRP Area 456 (the one I have created for subcontractor) but it does nothing - I don't see any requirements from A (plant level) nor from B.
If I force the requirements for A with MRP Area 456 (by setting Safety stock in material master) it does plan for S.A. (just this safety stock - it still ignores what's in A on the plant level).
These are my settings from MRP Views for A:
    On general level
    MRP Type: PD
    Lot Size: EX
    Procurement type: F
    In the 456 MRP Area:
    MRP Type: PD
    Lot Size: EX
Special procurement: 20 (I tried also with special procurment type which they defined in the word document from your link - the one which has U (stock transfer) and plant - but unfortunely the result was the same)
    Safety stock: 2000
Any clues on what might be wrong?
