Problems loading user business areas

Hi,
I connect ok with a user/password to the desktop edition, but the list box with the business areas are empty. I already grant access rights to three business areas in the administration edition.
But the same operation in another PC works fine. Connects well and later shows the three business areas.
It's a local problem inside this right PC. From this PC, the connection with the administrator user shows me all the BAs.
May be a bug? What's happen?

  • Problem while changing Business Area in Cost Center Master Data

    I am having a problem while changing the Business area in cost center master data, the system does not allow to change the business area due to the following reasons;
    1.  The transactional data already exists for that cost center
    2.  The desired date required to be changed, falls between analysis period 01.01.2000 to 31.12.2999
    Can anyone help me in order to reslove this issue

    Thanks a lot for resolving my problem actaully i have tested the scenario in Testing Server by changing the fiscal year and the system allowed to change the business area before any transactional data posted.

  • Problem in changing business area in asset master record - urgent

    I am facing this problem while trying to change the cost center of an asset to another cost center belonging to a different business area.  We are on ECC 6.0. 
    I have activated time independent management of organizational units for my company code, and business area and cost center field is becoming editable.  But when I try to change the cost center, the system asks whether I want to overwrite existing time dependent data.  When I click "No", it asks to enter the validity start date for the new cost center.
    Here is where the problem comes.  When I try to save the asset, the system tries to generate a FI posting, and cannot find the profit center (made mandatory in document splitting).
    I have checked in debugging (in a separate program used for substitution) that initially prctr field for bseg is populated, but in spite of that while posting the document, the system cannot determine the profit center.
    If any one has faced this problem and knows the solution, kindly help.

    Pls check if you have maintained profit centers under General Ledger Accounting (New) > Master Data> Profit Center--> Assign Default Profit Center to Accounts

  • Not posted Treasury transactions- problem with new Business area (NewGL)

    Hi all,
    I have to change the Treasury account assignment objects due to a restructure. Currently, all TR transactions are assigned to one business area only.
    In future, there will be 3 (different) business areas.
    I have added new products, transaction tpyes etc and I have made further customising
    settings. It looks ok and I can enter new transactions, settle and post them.
    Problems I do have with already existing deals (fixed term and Forex transactions).
    In here I get posting errors with message:
    Balancing field "Business Area" in line item 001 not filled
    Message no. GLT2201
    I have added additional account assignment references for the new Business Areas
    and assigned to product types and account assignment
    What happens when I create a deal?
    Is that information (product type/ transaction/ account assignment) alreaedy stored in a table and used, when processing the deal further?
    Can I somehow change that original assignment per deal now?
    I think my problem lies in that the system wants to use the old assignment but also the new and it comes to conflict in field business area.
    Any hints much appreciated and will be reqarded as usual.

    Are NewGL and document splitting active in your system? If yes, you should solve this problem with using splitting function.
    Otherwise, you can use business transaction event 00001120.
    I explained step by step how can you activate BTE 00001120. I give you message below.

    In this exit, you must update t_bsegsub-gsber field which t_bseg-buzid = 'T' for tax item.
    But you can not split tax line items in this exit. For example in invoice you have 2 or more business area, but tax line item doesn't create for each buiness area (If you don't use document splitting functon). So in this exit you can only assign a business area to tax line item which is automatically generate while posting FI document.

  • Substitute business area after document splitting or when creating document

    Hi experts,
    I have to do a substitution of business area after document spliting, but i saw in previous threads that it's not allowed by SAP to modify a document after spliting. So if i do this substitution when I create a document, for example in f-02 or fb01,is it possible? And how can I do? With user-exit or Badi?
    I have a specific table which contains all business areas which I should put into the document:
    BUKRS, GSBER
    CompA, BA 1
    CompB, BA 2
    CompC, BA 3

    If each Company code has a different business area, why do you need to populate it in the first place?
    The definition of a business area is that is can cover a range of Company Codes, but not be directly linked to one. I would suggest your use for Business Area is wrong.
    You are right about changes after splitting, however I would check with an ABAP'er on this or OSS.
    Also, if you are saying Business Area is Company code dependent, then there should not be a problem as the Business Area posted to will be correct, as an accounting document can only be for a single Company Code.
    You should have your business are validation, or substituion prior to document splitting.

  • Lost Business Areas

    I'm having a problem with the business areas. I can create business areas with admin. and I've checked all of the Privleges and Security issues in Discoverer Admin. But when I log into the EUL with an ID that I have granted access to, I can't see any of the Business areas. If I create a business area with one of the IDs then I can see them when I log back in with the EUL owner.
    Another person on our team has run into the same problem with his EUL on another Database.
    We believe that we've exausted every possibility within Discoverer.
    Any ideas?

    When you log in, are you not seeing the business areas or just not seeing the folders in the business areas ?
    If it is the later, that could be that the users don't have select privileges on the underlying tables/views. It could also be that the folders contain calculated items using a PL/SQL function that the users do not have execute privileges on. Either one will hide individual folders.
    If it is the former, this has always been a privilege issue in my experience. When you are in the end user edition and can't see business areas, go to Tools--> Options--> EUL and jot down the EUL that you are connected to.
    Enter into the Admin edition as the owner of that EUL, open up the Business areas, and click on the security key on the toolbar, go to the appropriate end user and make sure that they have access to the business areas.
    If they do, click on the lock on the toolbar, and under the Privileges tab, select the correct user and make sure that you have a least checked the box by user edition. By the way, you must always have that box checked, even if you have selected some of the others underneath it.

    I have a problem about the business area shown in the report.That is, When I open discoverer report,the business area that show in the drop down button does not match to the folders that I use to create my discoverer report. Anyone know how to correct this problem?

    Same issue here. I noticed one thing that by default the first Business Area in the list is shown & not the one we choose for current report. And i don't think, Oracle can provide any way to change it because Reports are associated with folders & there is no clear association of reports with Business areas.

    U can get the report as required by your claint, use the S_ALR_87012287-  Document Journal, form this report u can select the document type/user/business area from dynamic selection or u can create the layout as required by claint from this report, and put it as default, so ever time when ever execute the report no need to select from dynamic selection.

    I am having a similar problem to the one which you described in this thread. Tax is not calculated when I use BAPI_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT_POST for vendor invoice postings.

    from the time that we did a database migration from oracle 8i to oracle 9i, and the application to developer 6i we have faced a new problem, ' the user sessions are frequently blocked'

    Since it was a migration from oracle 8i to oracle 9i, your performance is suppose to increase rather than decrease given condition that hardware and oracle configuration does not change.
    How did you figure out that user sessions are frequently blocked?
    You can query v$session_wait and check why it is blocked/waiting?
    You can query v$locked_object to check if it is blocked for lock on some other objects?

    i am facing a problem wherein the business area determined is different from the division maintained for that article.eg if division maintained for article is 67,business area detrmined in 6600.i hav checked the tables zinternal order.everything is properly maintained .also for the same article in sum orders business area is determined correctly and in sum cases it is not.kindly help

    Rule 1 What you mentioned is wrong
    Rule 1 It is Plant and Item division
    Rule 3 sales org. DC and Item division
    Here the item division is the division from material master maintained in both basic data nad sales org data 1 tabs
    Division generally means header division
    Item division menas division mentioned in material master
    A customer A in sales area 1000,10,00 can buy products belonging to divisions material X belonging to division 01,material Y belonging to division 02,material Z belonging to division 03 in s a single sales order prvided a lot of customizations are done properly
    Here  header division is 00 and Item division 01,02, and 03
    These item divisions 01,02, and 03 are mentioned in MMRs of marerials X,Y and Z respectively
    So MMR palys a big role in determining business areas

    Hi!
    I am about to configure SAP PI.
    Therefore I have run post installation wizard step PI_00 and get the following errors:
    Error: Not able to load Function SWF_XI_BPM_AUTO_CUSTOMIZE
    (cause:Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)).
    Step: Execute SWF_XI_BPM_AUTO_CUSTOMIZE
    Error: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access
    Step: Add Installed Product2
    Questions:
    How can I identify which user/password makes problems here?
    P.S.
    My further problems are:
    2) It is not possible to work with XI tools, such as:
    Integration Directory, Integration Repository, Runtime Workbench
    When I try to execute some action in these tools I get the following error:
    Cannot connect to Repository
    Error during communication with System Landscape Directory: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access.
    2) When I try to access the NetWeaver configuration wizard (http://localhost:50000/nwa)
    I get the followign warnig:
    System Landscape Directory is not available
    Only local systems can be maintened

  • How to Define Workbook / Business Ares Security Correctly for new Users

    Hi All,
    Please could you help me understand the Security Model for Workbooks and business Areas as I believe I am very close to understanding it, but missing something important.
    Background Information:
    We are using the predefined Oracle Business Areas (Payables, Receivables, Purchasing & General Ledger) to build our reports on. These are the steps I am taking to try and assign a new user & responsibility access to the existing report.
    1. I create the Report in Discoverer Desktop under the ‘General Ledger Responsibility’ logged in as myself – assume report name = ‘Report_1’.
    2. I create a new Responsibility in Oracle Apps called ‘Discoverer Resource Coordinators’.
    3. I create a new User in Oracle Apps called ‘Joe Bloggs’ and assign the responsibility ‘Discoverer Resource Coordinators’ to the Joe.
    4. Logged in as myself in Discoverer Desktop, Responsibility ‘General Ledger’ I Share the Report (Report_1) to the new Responsibility I just created ‘Discoverer Resource Coordinators’.
    5. In Discoverer Administration, Security, I assign the new Responsibility ‘Discoverer Resource Coordinators’ to the predefined Oracle Business Areas (Payables, Receivables, Purchasing & General Ledger).
    6. In Discoverer Administration I set privileges so that the Responsibility ‘Discoverer Resource Coordinators’ can do all tasks, query data, administer. .etc. etc..
    7. I therefore believe everything has been done and attempt to Login and run the report under Joe Bloggs, but am unable to retrieve any data.
    Help… what am I missing!

    Dear All,
    This has now been adjusted according to your recommendations but to no avail.
    Myself and Lance have ensured that this new responsibility has unlimited access to all the existing Business areas to eliminate joins within folders not being recognised, we have also ensured that the workbooks that have been created are shared with the correct responsibility.
    I have thoroughly tested this set up by logging in as this new responsibility within Disco. Client to try and retrieve data in a new Workbook, but even for the simplest of queries this fails.
    It seems that there may be a problem with the Responsibility linking to the EUL, could this be due to the new responsibility being created after the Current EUL was set up?
    Does anyone have any information or knowledge where this could happen?
