Problems with LDAP: "LDAP server prefix is not of the correct format"

Hello!
We use a Mac OS X Server (10.4.9) with Open Directory for authentication of the clients in our network. Furthermore, that machine serves home directories and mobile accounts.
Every now and then a client hangs during login: After submitting login information, the system does not respond anymore (shows 'hourglass'). A few minutes later, the login process continues.
The system log on the client contains the following lines:

What is the cause for that failure?

Don't do DHCP based binding, configure it manually.

Help with Oracle Connection- "Input string was not in a correct format"

Hello, can some one, anyone please help me. I have a simple VS 2005 C# application that connects to oracle. I've set it up to take the username, password and tnsname as arguments. I am using Client 9i, version 9.2.0.401 of Oracle.DataAccess.dll, and .NET Framework 2.0.
It works fine when I run it from VS 2005, I have also set up a test machine w/o VS 2005 and ran my install package and it runs fine. I sent it to one of my co-workers and when he tries it the OracleConnection obect fails with the error.
"Input string was not in a correct format"
strange in that it is not an ORA error, just the identifed text!?

Pretty basic, what could be going on?
Since this only happens with an installation, I put in the message boxes to verify exactly where it chokes. I get the first message box, then an error with the identified text. I've seen a number of posts regarding input string format problems, but not a one dealing with OracleConnection.Open(). I added all the ToString() calls just to make sure everything was a string but it did not change the end result.

well, i got a message "...string not wellformed format...", too.
If you have defined the parameters as string, you don't need the additonal "ToString()". Please ckeck your tnsnames -string. Try to debug this. I believe you have copy the format from the tnsnames.ora and there you have much brackets.

I recently set up multiple accounts and when I was trying to figure out how to share files I messed up something in my documents. Everytime I open a doc from the ADMIN account, a box pops up that says "The file is not in the correct format" how to fix?

When logged into the Admin account, I open up any document and I get a message box that says, "The Document could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format. The file might be corrupted, truncated, or in an unexpected format." What did I do and how do I fix it?

Without knowing what you did it is impossible to give advice on how to correct it.
If these were files you copied over from some other system then just Re-Copy them replacing the ones that are corrupted.
Other then that I suggest you Wipe the drive and start over with a clean reinstall of the OS and programs. Then if you want to share files to All Accounts place those files in a folder in the ROOT of the drive.

Has anyone had this problem with VPN iPad vpn connection could not validate the server certificate

Has anyone had this problem with IPad 3 after upgrade to IOS 7,
trying to to connect VPN , but I get this messag, "could not validate the server certificate".
I am trying to connect to Oracle VPN.

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I am still getting the could not validate server certificate error. I have tried importing the entire certificate chain as well as importing each individual cert in the chain. My certificate works perfectly with the cisco vpn on my pc.
This is my first experience owning an apple product, and I am very disappointed with the customer support that I have received. I tried calling the help line and no one would even attempt to answer my question. I was then told that the Mac "geniuses" wouldn't know either and that I may be able to find an answer on the message boards. So I am reaching out to the community...Has anyone been able to figure out how to resolve this issue or even the specific cause? Any help is appreciated.

Socket problem with reading/writing - server app does not respond.

The problem that was solved here was a different problem actually, concerning different source code, in which the solution I offered above doesn't arise. The solution I offered here applied to the source code you posted here.

Problem with waveform chart: time scale does not show time correctly

Hello,
I have some problems with a chart.
I want to display some data and the time between two single data can vary. It is something between 50ms and 500 ms.
The problems I have:
1. The time is not shown correctly in the chart (allways 2:00:10 instead of the current time)
2. the data points in the chart have a distance of 1 s (x-scale). That is not correct.
I have tried several things but I thinkt I am on the wrong track.
Could you please help me?

I have modifierd the vi again.
Now it looks much better.
I have a data array and the last 10 seconds of the data are displayed.
The array size is maximum 150 and that is more than I need to display. If new data is inserted, the oldest gets deleted.
I wonder if this style is efficient?
The time is stil not displayed correctly in the graph. Why does it always show 2:00:00 ?

Problems with PPTP VPN server authentication - Could not retrieve key agent account information

Errr so far switching to a mac based server has been a mess. I have had it with permission issues!!
Here is my latest problem. After rebuilding the server several times my VPN clients can't connect. Every other time it has been fine but for some reason its just not working. I did recreate the vpn from a back up. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Anyway below is the error I am getting. Anyone have any idea what is causing it? You have all already been so helpful. Thank you very much!

Thank you for your help John. Before I could even employ your suggestion the server crashed. I don't understand why I am constantly dealing with these issues. I cloned the install to a new HDD and then did a reinstall. That fixed VPN, so far so good. But talk to me next week, something else will happen I'm sure.

Browser Issue - Date format shown is not in the correct format

Hi,
i have a web application which i have to block all language translation...
eg- whatever i set browser language text should display in english language only...
but for some pages it is translating as there is no property files...but through browser changes it is changing accordingly.
01-Jan-2009 is being tranlsated as 01-Janv-2009 when i change the browser setting to some other language...
can some body please give me some idea on this....
as i am using html, jwc and java..

Yes, your understanding is correct. Storage Emulator 2.2 is currently incompatible with Storage Client Library 3.0.0.0. This has been mentioned in Storage Team Blob as well:

Unfortunately there's nothing much you can do other than:
Either roll back storage client library from 3.0.0.0 to 2.x.x.x.
(Kind of lame suggestion) or use cloud storage for development (we actually are doing it as the features introduced in 3.0.0.0 were really important for the product we are building)

Oracle has changed the Enterprise Manager from version 1.5 to 2.0 .
With the new Oracle8i dataase server another service has been added.
If you want to user the OEM you have to install The Managment Server.
The Managment server has its own user and privileges and is recommended when using OEM.

Backup Problem with only Production Server

Here i have backup problem in only production server. In my tape drive device all schedule backup of Development server and Quality Server and Production server . In this i get all backup in Development and Quality server, But in Production server backup was fail and not only one all backup is fail from last 2 days . So can u tell me what is the problem with my production server and how can i find it in production.
And any hardware issue or OS issue is responsible for this.

I have problem with Adobe ColdFusion Server Manager.

I have a problem with Adobe ColdFusion Server Manager when you log on and connect to the server. An advantage of the settings do not load.

the Errors View button display’s the yellow ! sign. Without a better guide I just thought that is a normal button icon until I noticed Charlie comment earlier in the thread and I thought hold up that is not normal.
As it is when I press Errors View I get “no error” which might be because there is none or just simply not giving meaningful details as per some other CF Server Manager limitations previously noticed in other threads on forum here.
I just hope some of that helps the original post to do with the display of the settings on left side. Maybe a better look at the error might help? Does anything get logged in CFadmin UI > Debugging & Logging > Log Files that relates to issue?
