Process chain not executing

Process chain is activated, but not getting execute.
Also no jobs are being scheduled for the same.
Please help ASAP.

First check whether the process chain has been started or not. If not then schedule it again .
U can check whether the PC is started or not by using the Tcode : sm37

One of our SQL Server started creating SQLDUMP file and and on investigation I found the error longs are filled with Errors 3624 & 17066. There is transnational replication configured on one of the databases is the LogReader Agent is failing error "The

Not sure if both these Assertion & Logreader Agent errors are related. Before I remove and put the replication, I wanted to check if anyone has experienced the same issues or aware of what the cause.

You need to determine if this error is a transient one or a show stopper one.
It sounds like your log reader agent has crashed and can't continue.
If so your best bet is to call Microsoft CSS and open a support incident.
It also sounds like DBCC CHECKDB was running while the log reader agent crashed.
If you need to get up and running again run sp_replrestart, but then you might find that replicated commands are not picked up. You will need to run a validation to determine if you need to reinitialize the entire publication or a single article.
I have run into errors like this, but they tend to be transient, ie the log reader agent crashes, and on restart it works fine.

BI IP Executing planning sequence via process chain not possible

Hi,
we use BI IP and have defined a process chain (RSPC) with value type process planning sequence. When we execute it, we get error message
"Inconsistent input parameter (parameter: <unknown>, value <unknown>)"
When we execute this planning sequence via the modeller or via SE38 RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE everything works fine. I thougt the cause could be the user of the job itself (job is executed with different user, and variant of planning sequence is user-dependent!), but I changed the user in the job itself as well without results.
any thoughts?

Hi,
I executed with my user and have a SAP_ALL authorization. Perhaps it could be because we use authorisation with the old method (4.0) (-> I'm not sure on this). I also think it has to do with authorization. I'll check this out with our authorization consultant.

Toggle Option in Process Chain not working

Hello SDNers,
I am experiencing the below scenario with one of my process chain.
Process Chain FLow
Start

Local Chain (To delete the already existing file from Application Server(ZFTP))

Local chain to rename the file

Local chain (Load data to cube)

Local chain to backup a file from Appl. Server
In the above flow, the step 2 has been set to proceed further even if there are no files to delete in the application server. To achieve this I am using a toggle option between the step 2 and 3.
At times, the chain progress further when there are no files to delete as expected but not all the times.
I am trying to figure why the step which is supposed to progress further is not progressing some times even though it has been set to move further.
Any advice would be helpful.

Process chains not delivered in BPC 7.5 NW SP4 Version

Hi Experts,
We have installed BPC 7.5 NW SP04 sandbox system and we found that
there are two process chains
(/CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER, /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_HIER) not delivered with
BPC NW 7.5 NW versino which are used for BW Master data imports.
Please suggest.

Login into Backend system (BW) and run tcode SE38> Enter program name as UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT>Execute
Choose AppsetID uncheck all check boxes except Activate BI Business Content and Run (F8).

Transporting Process Chains that execute based on Events

Hi,
I am new to Process Chains and would appreciate some help. I created a process chain in our Development environment. The Chain executes based on an Event trigger. I activated and scheduled the chain. I then transported the chain to our Quality Assurance environment. The chain looks like it transported correctly. However, if I look in sm37, there is not a job out there for the Process Chain with a Release status. Therefore, if I trigger the event, the Process Chain does not run.
What am I missing?

I created many Process Chains and I never had this problem.
NOTES: You cannot transport Process Chain Scheduling.
Do these steps in sequence and let us know what happened.
1) Go to DEV. Open the Process Chain Start Process. Copy the Event Technnical Name. If the Event has a parameter, copy that one too.
2) Go to QAS. Run transaction SM62. See if the event does exist in QAS. (You cannot transport Events, they have to be manually created). If the event doesn't exist, create that event.
3) GO to QAS Process Chain, De-Schedule the Chain. Open the Start Process. Check and see if the Event is the same name. Make sure that, if there is a parameter in DEV paste it in QAS. Check Mark Periodic. Now, Activate and schedule the Process Chain.
4) Now, trigger the event. If the Event has a Parameter, you have to add the parameter too. NOTE: Parameter is case sensitive.
5) The name of Function Module to trigger is: BP_EVENT_RAISE
It needs: Event Name, Event Parameter (if needed), & TARGET_INSTANCE (Copy the Source System Technical Name from BW QAS using RSA1 so that therer are no typos).
Now, tell what happened.

Change on process chain not visible in display mode after transport

All,
We have changed a process chain where message notification was active in development.
We have deleted the notification and created a transport. This has been released and implemented into the QA system without a problem.
When displaying the new process chain in QA the change was not visible. But in change mode it is.
Can anyone tell us what might be a cause/solution for this? Also for future changes.

Try activating the PC again in the QA.
if still it does reflect the message notification, then try creating the request again
in DEV and transport.
make sure you r out of the Process chains in DEV nad QA when transport happens.

Process chain not continue after successful node

Hi gurus,
   In my process chain I load data from R/3 to PSA and then execute DTP to DSO, all actions are serially. Usually our PC is running well. But recently the PC will stop after the loading to PSA was successfully end , which means in the log view of PC this node was green.
   I have checked the table RSPCPROCESSLOG, the entry here was also marked as successful. ( STATE = G )
   I have no idea why this PC wouldn't continue automatically?

We have tried manually execute DTP to load data from PSA into DSO. Everything is OK. And as I mentioned, this PC was OK before! Sometimes when execute the failed PC several times, it runs correctly.
   This is why it looks so weird! I guess is it related to time exceed (load to PSA cost 2 hours) or some potential restrictions?

Check in sm37 if you process chain was triggered or not. If it was triggered, whether it finished successfully or not.
If everything looks fine here, go to WE02 in your source system to check if any idocs have failed. If the idocs are posted succussfully, check in sm37 here if you job for dataload got completed succesfully or not.

Process chains not pulling any data?

I have created process chain and also shceduled it I am not even seeing the in monitor the requests.But in SM 37 all of them shceduled and also completed.

I doubt that u have used a wrong schedule time..
Just check going into the infopackage and then goto Monitor..and check if u can see any entry in the monitor... If not.. then proceed as below..
So try with an immediate run and then check is that works fine for u...!!!

Local process chain not getting started

we have a composit chain which ran 3 local chain when it comes to 4th local chain its says BI_PROCESS_CHAIN is ok
but its not starting when we see in the sm37 is says folloing things

Hi DP
Since the local chain is not started, it seems that that is not active.
Goto local chain which didn't get started, check for jobs by context menus ( show all jobs) and if you find a job in released state that means chain is active and it should run, but if you don't find any chain in the released state that means you need to activate and schedule 4th local chain again.
Once you do that, then you need to activate the final parent chain also.
Please try to do this and then if you need you can start the local chain directly by repeating the process from there itself.

Running Two Process together!!.. second process does not execute!!

Am trying to run two process continously.. taking outputs.. from first process as input for second!! But second process should occur when first process is completed!!.. as it is moving files created by first process!!
Process process1 = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(optimizer.exe); //It creates some files in temp folder.. !!

Process process2 = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(script);process2 does not take place since process1 does not finished before executing that line.. so no files are there to move!!
How to make stop my program for a while until first process is finished??

How can you figure out when optimizer is finished?
Do you know how many files it will create? Will it
t create all of them at once? Yes optimizer.exe creates 3 files at once..!!
Then I have to move these files to different location..

when it's ready for the second process. A simple
example of this is a loop that checks the temp
directory for files and proceeds once there are some
with a sleep() in there some place so it doesn't kill
the machine.How to keep checking for files then!! .. smething like this!!

DP macros are not being calculated correctly using process chain

Hello all!!
I have this DP planning book with two grids, which the second grid has some macros. I have to put this macros execution in a Process Chain, but it´s very strange because, when I execute the macro directly in the interactive planning the result is correct, but when I execute it using the process chain, the result is wrong.
The selection profile and the aggregation level in the Process Chain is the same that is being used in the selection profile.
I´ve already created the activities and also the planning job to be used in the process chain.
Could you help me?

I would suggest to create a test selection Id with a few products (say 5) and create a new job with this selection profile and include that job in the process chain and execute it. Please monitor the job log while porcessing... for this right click on the process in the process chain and select 'Display all jobs'..it will take you to the SM37 screen..there click the job log and spool file and observe what exactly the job is doing i.e whether its executing correctly or its skipping that process or something else is doing...
The second thing you can try out is by creating a separate dataview for the second grid in the test sytem and replicate the scenario and check if it has any impact, my guess is if process chain is not supporting the macros in the second grid
