Process chain search
Hi all,
Just thought of sharing.. small point only.
We can search a process chain by its technical name using Tcode RSPC1.
Praveen
RSPC1 is a easy of searching process chain by its technical name.
But to how to search that in RSPC transaction ?
( process chain by technical name )

How to search for a process chain in RSPC ?
Hi,
Is there any way that i can find a process chain by giving the name of the variant.
I know that i can click on the DTP and from there i can go to the process chain if i know the DTP.
But here my problem is that i have a program which is calling a process chain now i what to what this process chain is doing.
Is there any way to find it?
Thanks in advance.
Reagrds,
RaghuHi Surendra,
Thanks for the inputs. Thanks for sharing some useful table names.
But this haven't solved my issue.
I have the below mentioned code in a program.
CALL FUNCTION 'RSPC_CHAIN_START'
EXPORTING
I_CHAIN = 'YPC_VARIANT_FOODS'
I_T_VARIABLES =
I_SYNCHRONOUS =
I_SIMULATE =
I_NOPLAN =
IMPORTING
E_LOGID = LOGID.
Now i want to see the Process chain ( 'YPC_VARIANT_FOODS' ) in RSPC.
Actually 'YPC_VARIANT_FOODS' is a variant.
Any way to achieve this?
Thanks,
Raghu -
Searching for ABAP to download BW Process Chain (as txt / xls)
Dear all,
Has somebody an ABAP to download BW Process Chain definitions as a TXT or XLS file (to local PC)?
(and want's to share it...
Best regards,
JosHello Jos,
i can just give you a hint on some tables:
RSPCLOGCHAIN contains the LOG_IDs of all process chains executed.
RSPCPROCESSLOG contains the steps executed in the given run of the prcess chain identified by LOG_ID.
perhaps, that helps at least a little bit...

SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC during saving of Process Chain
Dear all,
On saving, when adding a process to an existing Process Chain - like Rollup or Change Run - in our SCM 5.0 system, we receive a short dump 'SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC' (complete short dump at the end of the msg).
A problem arose on the line 'insert rsbatchparallel from table g_t_batch_par.' of include 'LRSBATCHF01'.
The version of this include is the same as all other systems in our environment.
In the table 'rsbatchparallel' we don't find any entry that can cause a duplicate entry.
We are really stuck with this issue - any help is highly appreciated!
Best regards,
Ingrid

Runtime Errors SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC
Exception CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
Date and Time 08.10.2007 16:56:50
Short text
The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records.
What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLRSBATCH" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
in
procedure "SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in
the database and that record already exists with the same key,
this results in a termination.
(With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)
How to correct the error
Use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert only if you are sure that none of
the records passed already exists in the database.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC" "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB"
"SAPLRSBATCH" or "LRSBATCHF01"
"SAVE_SETTINGS"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
"SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", or its possible occurrence must be declared in the
RAISING clause of the procedure.
To prevent the exception, note the following:

Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLRSBATCH" - in "SAVE_SETTINGS".
The main program was "RSPC_MAINTAIN ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 1082
of the (Include) program "LRSBATCHF01".
The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB" occurred in
procedure "SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", but it was neither handled locally nor
declared
in the RAISING clause of its signature.
The procedure is in program "SAPLRSBATCH "; its source code begins in line
1045 of the (Include program "LRSBATCHF01 ".

Problem in creating a Process Chain
Hi,
I am using BI 7.0. I followed the following steps to create a process chain:
1. Create Start Process
2. Create Process Variant
3. And once this is created and saved, I clicked on process types
4. I dragged and dropped the Execute InfoPackage to the right side
5. And here, when I click on F4, it says, No Data Selected.
I have lot of infopackages that are created in my Datawarehousing Workbench.
But I am unable to view them...please let me know, how do I go about solving them...would definitely assign points for the solution. Thanks in advance.
Thanks & Regards.Hi Ganesh,
just go to your administrative workbench and select your info package and copy the technical name... and now go to your process chain.. now click on Execute info package process type.. -> in that search help.. you can choose find option and give your info package technical name..(which you copied ) and press enter..
you can able to find that info package.. and clcik on taht.. and press eneter..
regards

At present, there is no standard functionality available in SAP NetWeaver 2004s BW/BOBJ that offers this integration and automation. But you can do it as given in following link

Error in process chain DTP not executed
Hello,
Sorry tried to find the most appropriate forum, not sure it is the one. Am a newbee
In a process chain we have a event passing information from one cube to another that stops and do not go until the end of the job. But it doesn't happen all the time, which is rather strange.
Here is the log when everything goes well:

"Save Hierarchies" step in Process chain getting failed
Hello all,
After searching thoroughly through various links / forums, i failed to get a solution. So, I am posting here.
Recently we had a system copy. After that, in Quality system - "Save all Hierarchies" step in PC is getting failed.
I ran the process chain for 3 times till now:
1) Sometimes, it fails at batch monitor itself with UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION runtime error.
2) Sometimes, it fails saying "Error 0 when reading PSA 1" & "No hierarchy found for the selection criteria entered".
When it fails with "Error 0 when reading PSA 1", then the above Hierarchy info package which is green automatically turns RED again with Process monitor saying "No PSA tables for the selection criteria".
I also went through the below sdn links.
http://scn.sap.com/thread/278794
http://scn.sap.com/thread/1753212
Things I did:
1) Tried replicating & activating the Transfer rules and Data source.
2) Repeated the step, as suggested in one post.
3) Refreshed the OLTP hierarchies in Infopack. selections.
I have attached a screenshot of a sample Data source which says Modified, though the transfer rules are active. Also, the process chain sample.
Please let me know, if someone has faced this issue. Whatelse did I miss? Any clue.
Thanks,
Vikranth.Hi Raman,
I couldn't retransport, but i removed it from schedule and re-activated it. But, i think the issue lies with one of the Info objects 0PROFIT_CTR.
Because, when i tried to check the hierarchy structure; there are duplicate entries for one code. Can we delete one of them? Is it preferable.
I tried using OSS and used a program RSR_REPAIR_INFOAREAHIER but this showed no errors.
Any clue?
Thanks,

BI Content 7.57 SP4 Activating Process Chain
Hi,
I am trying to activate a process chain from BI content . My source system is ERP 6.0. While collecting objects for activating this Process Chain BW gives an errors. It says some of DTP and Transformations are missing. I have put two of the errors are at below.
When i search these missing objects on the BI content these objects are not exist. Also on the BW system they are not exist. I could not find any solution for this problem.
Can you please show me a way for solving this. I am stuck on this.
I am trying to activate following Process Chain.
Technical Name: 0HCM_FULL_P0EMPLOYEE
Name : Load Data for InfoObject 0EMPLOYEE
Error 1:
Shadow object DTP_DYF4USYQ4EYMWILRMUGLXW2KG cannot be expanded; chain is inconsistent
Message No. RSPC142
Diagnosis
You want to determine the objects that are source system-dependent for shadow object DTP_DYF4USYQ4EYMWILRMUGLXW2KG so that they can be inserted in the modified version of the process chain or of a referencing process. This was not possible.
Error 2:
Object DTP_ETKRN0DQM7QVOBZSVBC9J61HB (Data Transfer Process,DTPA) could not be collected for object 0HCM_FULL_P0EMPLOYEE (Process Chain,RSPC)
Message No. RSO296
Diagnosis
You have collected objects in the BW Metadata Repository. Associated objects for the object 0HCM_FULL_P0EMPLOYEE of type Process Chain,RSPC have also been collected. Object DTP_ETKRN0DQM7QVOBZSVBC9J61HB of type Data Transfer Process,DTPA was among these objects. This object
DTP_ETKRN0DQM7QVOBZSVBC9J61HB of type Data Transfer Process,DTPA, is not, however, available in the Metadata Repository.
System Response
Object DTP_ETKRN0DQM7QVOBZSVBC9J61HB of type Data Transfer Process,DTPA is ignored in further collections. The links for object 0HCM_FULL_P0EMPLOYEE of type Process Chain,RSPC are incomplete. This may result in not being able to activate this object.Hello experts

How to get the name of user who last changed the settings of process chain
Hi All,
I have a process chain which runs daily. At one atep it would load data till PSA then there was a separate process to update data from PSA. But recently someone changed the settings and data is loaded in PSA and data target in parallel. But the process update data from PSA is also there still and as a result giving error as data already reached infocube. I wish to know who changed the settings. I searched and found about tcode SGL1 but not getting any fruitful result. Can anyone pls suggest anything.
Thanks in advance,
SanandaHi There,
In your case, nobody has changed the settings in process chains. However, it appears that someone has changed the Processing mode in the Info package. Since now the infopackage has already run after the change was made, I don't think there is any way to find who has changed the setting in the infopackage.
However, the solution would be to just switch back the processing mode from "PSA and Data Targets in Parallel" to "Only PSA".

List of all the process types used in the creation of process chains
Hi Gurus,
I am new to process chains creation, can any one give the list of all the process types used in the creation of process chains and there uses also.
Please search the forum before posting a thread
Edited by: Pravender on Jan 4, 2011 4:18 PMHi,
As process chain is to automate the data load step.
For Ex:- If you are loading data from R/3 to DSO CUBE.
Here you require Info package to load till PSA.
DTP to load till DSO
Another DTP to load Cube.
And all other process like psa deletion AND process you can find in RSPC tab.

Index in process chain question
Hi Experts,
I am creating a process chain with only 1 infopackage, do i need to add a "delete index" and "create index" variant in this chain or do i NOT need to do this because it is only one infopackage? Your advise is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Also note that if the number of data records to be loaded is small as compared to the total number of records already in the cube, then deleting and recreating (would affect load perf) but would take more time and resources than loading in the presence of these index.
If you like, search for some posts by Pizzaman...you will get a very good understanding of this topic.
Hope this helps... -

Edited by: Pravender on May 4, 2011 3:57 PMHi Vandana,
1.Go to RSPC tcode ->(F5) create ->It will ask for process chain name ->then it will ask for start variant
2.If you have no start variant pre created then create new one (at right side there will be a paper symbol for that ).Every process chain has one and only one start variant that is to set scheduling option etc .When you will create a new one you will go to a screen where you have scheduling option .
3.a) Direct scheduling ->to start execution immediately
b) start using meta chain or API ->chains which run at specific time (day ,month etc or after some specific event ). save your settings and go back .click check symbol for final creation of start variant.
4.Now at left screen you have chain symbol (process types) .when you will click on that you will have all the process lists .
5.You can select process as per your requirement and connect different processes together. Each process is a different event (ex : load DTP ,Infopackage ,ABAP program ,AND ,Interrupt ).You cna do detailed study for that .
6.After adding all processes activate (ctrl+F3) and execute .
7.After that you can check logs (shift+F1) .you can see todays log ,yesterday and today etc .For details of every process execution right click on process and see display variant .
Hope this will be helpful for basic startup.you can further read thoroughly on each process .

Jaya
