Product Costing - CK11N BOM component wrong quantity

Hi,
I have a question regarding Material Cost Estimates. I have a material (Product A) which has a BOM header Qty of 524. One of the Components (Product B) has a Qty of 560. When I run the Cost Estimate for Product A, the component costing list doubles the quantity of Product B, and therefore doubles the cost (this is when I change the report Qty to 524).
The Costing Lot Size on the product A is 1. When I change this Costing Lot Size on the material master to 100 and rerun the CK11N, the Component Qty and Cost are correct.
Is there some rule that I should be following when it comes to Costing Lot Sizes?
Thanks for any help.
Daniel.

TO MY KNOWLEDGE,
COSTING LOT SIZE IN MATERIAL MASTER, FOR WHICH YOU ARE DOING STD COST ESTIMATE,
COSTING LOT SIZE IN MATERIAL MASTERS, OF BOM COMPONENTS,
BASE QUANTITY IN BOM,
BASE QUANTITY IN ROUTING ,
ALL THE ABOVE SHOULD BE IDENTICAL.

  • By-Product as a BOM component

    Hello gurus,
During the manufacture of my main product there is a by-product being produced at a certain stage. I have to mention this particular item as a BOM component and signify it with a negative sign. When i do this, then during the Goods receipt stage of my main product I also have certain qty of by-product coming to stores. This is all well and fine, But I do not want the cost of this by product to be subtracted from the main product when i do the cost estimate in CK11N, What are the settings that have to be done to achieve this.
I want the by-product qty to be credited to stores but do not want the cost of this by-product to be subtacted from the main product.
    Thanking you in anticipation
    regards
    Sri.

    Hi ,
There are two options to avoid this.
    1. Remove costing relevancy tick mark  from BOM
    2. In material master costing view maintain 100 % costing structure for header component.
    This will solve your problem

    Thank you.

    Check following points,
Probably material might be split valuated,Check price is maintained for all valuation types including header in MM60.
Check price is maintained in info record.
Check type of procurement in MRP2,it will be external procurement - F.
Do product cost estimate using KKF6N.
Check production version is maintained in MRP4 ?
Check throughly all masters vendor, info record & material master.
    It will solve the issue.

  • Transaction code for change in cost of BOM component

    Hi Gurus,
If BOM or any source materials has been updated in the system, the header material need to be re-costed. Is there any existing T-code to get the list of the materials , the changed might impact to.
    Regards
    Kaisar

    Dear Kaisar,
There is no standard T code to meet this requirement wherein you get all the required details.
Only you have to identify and cost it using CK11N/CK40N.
If you are ECM - change numbers, you can identify the made changes by a customized report and then
    you recost those materials alone.
Again its a very big customized development.
    check and revert back.

  • BOM Component and quantity like cs03

    Hi friends,
I want  output like cs03 i want component list and its quantity  which r use for perticular material as like in CS03.
Means I just give material no in  input for that perticular material number in output it display components which are used for that perticular material and its quantity, plan.
I don't know PP tables and link between them so plz give me tables name and related llink so i can get output in SQVI OR REPORT.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Dear Prashant,
Dear First check with T codes CS11,CS12,CS13.
But if you are planning to make use of tables for creating a query then
Using the Following tables, you can create a simple query and get the necessary
    details.
    STPO         BOM Item Details
    STKO           BOM Header Details
    MAST         BOM Group to Material.

  • Assesment To Product Cost Collector

    Dear All
Do you know how to do assesment from cost center to Product cost Collector based on activity quantity that input by Production planning modul?
    Thanks

    Dear Shankar,
As you explained it's not possible to perform GI through MIGO or MB1A against a product cost collector.
In case if you want to post the extra component consumption, use component backflush radio button in
MFBF and select do you want to post as per the BOM components(select the radio button for Propose
components according to BOM) or else you can enter the components manually (by selecting the radio
    button for No BOM explosion).
I hope through this can post the components, because the cost gets booked in the product cost collector.
    Check and revert

  • Bom Component qty & WIP Quantity differ at Trget cost calculation

    Dear gurus,
i am facing the problem with WIP at target cost calculation in REM.
    My issue is
BOM Component qantity is 9.524 TO  and price is 2000 then total cost is  9.521*2000=19048.
but in WIP Report kkas in WIP explation it takes input qty 9.52 T0 and price 2000 then total price is 19040.
    Difference is 19048 - 19040 =8
and also when i am issuing actual qty i.e 9.524 in BOM then my price is 19048.00 ant at time of variance calculaton then quantaty variance as   9.52.0-9.524.0=-0.04  then 0.004*2000 =-8
    Please suggest solution for this.

    Hi
Rounding differences between target and actual values and quantities are not unlikely to occur and cannot always be avoided but can be minimized.
Small prices and price unit of 1 are likely to cause more of these rounding differences..
The actual credit is simply calculated as price * quantity. The target credit however is calculated during the variance calculation
and based on the sum of all items in the itemization/cost components of the cost estimate and therefore more accurate.
To avoid this I suggest to store the material price with a larger price unit, i.e. 1000
Std cost release stores price upto 2 decimals and target cost calculation goes upto 3 decimals...
Please check also the note 1265918 for more information to this topic.

  • Product Costing - Standard Cost Component Split on Multi Level BOM's

    Hi,
We are the process of introducing SAP for all back office and manufacturing activities.
I am currently trying to verify that the product cost calculation for Multi-Level BOMs in our Legacy system matches the cost roll up or cost estimate in SAP at not only a Total Cost Level but the cost component split must be accurate also. So far, all the costs roll up correctly at a total cost level but I have noticed one issue:
When I run a cost estimate for a single level BOM the cost estimate will split the components accurately into Material, Labor, Fixed Overhead and Variable overhead, However, when this component is then used in the next level of manufacturing all the Labor, Fixed Overhead and Variable Overhead Cost is grouped under Material.
Q1.) Is there a SAP setting or config change that will keep the previous Labor, Fixed OH and Variable OH cost in these categories as the material is rolled up to finished product level?
Q2.) Is there a standard report / view where I can see the Finished Goods Standard Cost split by each of there rolled up Components? This would need to split the Total Material, Total Labor, Total Fixed OH and Total VO required to make the Finished Product.
Q3.) Is there a standard report / view where I can see the added value (Absorption) by component split (Labor, Fixed OH, Variable OH) for every Manufactured Part?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Brian

  • CK11 costing of repeated component item on bom

Looking for a product costing solution to the following scenariou2026
Bill of material contains a component that is listed twice, but with a different procurement indicator (purchase vs. production) for each occurrence.  The reason for this is that these are boms for repair and it is not known until the end item is disassembled whether the components will need to be replaced (and therefore purchased) or repaired (produced).  The procurement type on the material master is u2018Xu2019 for both procurement types.  Using historical statistics, an estimate is done for  what the produced vs. purchased quantities of the component should be.  For example, a repair calls for 10 of a certain component.  Historically, 70% of the time, the component can be repaired and 30% it will have to be replaced.  So, the component is listed once on the item list with a quantity of 7, and procurement indicator of production.  Itu2019s then listed again with a quantity of 3, and a procurement indicator of purchase.  From a logistics execution standpoint (production, MRP) this process is working.
The problem is using CK11 to cost the end item.  While a cost estimate is created for the component, itu2019s based on the first listing of the component.  So, using my example above, if the production alternative  quantity was listed first, all 10 would be valued at the production value.
Any ideas on how I can get around this?  Iu2019ve looked at mixed costing, but this would require additional maintenance for the procurement ratios, which we are trying to avoid.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
Mixed costing is your only option in this regard....
Else, what the system is doing currently is the only choice.. OR At best what you can do is you can treat it for costing purposes as In-House i.e. repaired always.. This is because, most of the time it is so

  • Product costing without quantity structure configuration document

    Hi Gurus
Can any one send product cost configuration document without quantity structure to [email protected] in
i need only without quantity structure document only please

    Dear MK,
CK40N  = CK11N only for exploding BOM and saving cost Estimate.   +  CK24 (open perid and mark the pice and update the price)

  • How can read BOM component date before save the production order??

    Hi Experts,
In our company, we need to develop a program to read the BOM component data of the production order
before we save the production order.
That for example ,when we create and release a production order , before we save the production
order,we want a porgram to read the BOM component data. If some component data can meet our
requriement (may be if there is material requirement quantity>100 EA),then the system will pop up a
small dialog box to remind us.
There is user exit PPCO0007 and PPCO0007.But it seems they only can read the head data of the
production order before we save the production order. And the BOM component data of the production
order are saved in the RESB(Reservation Table). So if we do not save the production order, all the BOM
component data are not saved in the RESB table.
So how can slove the problem??
How can read component date before save the production order??
Are there any other user exit we can use???

Hi Just wanted to check am I right that you are trying to check if you have enough Materials Available before you release or Save the order right ? if this is your business objective then when you create order you have material availability tab which checks and gives error if shortage is there. Please let me know if is this wht you asking for ?

  • What is BOM? Steps Needed. How is it Related to Product Costing

    Gurus,
    What is BOM?
How is it related to Product Costing and Profitability Analysis and CO?
Technical help and steps would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Points available.

    Hi,
BOM (Bill of Material) is a structured list of components (with the object number, quantity and unit of measure) that go into making of a product or an assembly.
Bill of Material can be simple or complex depending upon the structure of the product. And, a collection of BOMs that lets you describe a product or a number of similar products is known as BOM Group.
    T code is CK51.
In product costing BOM is used to estimate the cost incurred for the creation of a finished product.
Technically, when u do a product cost run for particular material and if you don't have BOM for the material, the system will give an error.
    If useful, assign points.

  • CK11N increasing cost of BOM item (another SFG) by a constant percentage

    Hi
I am facing a problem that while running cost estimate for different SFGs, the system is calculating cost of a bom item (another SFG) by increasing 10.2293 %.
I have check BOM, component scrap percentages, but unable to find the root cause of the problem.
Please help and consider the following example data
Cost in CK11N         Qty           SFG material price     Cost should be     Difference     Diff. %
    SFG A in SFG 2 BOM          43,353.34     1.238     31,769.10              39,330.15             4,023.19                   0.102292888
    SFG X in SFG 5 BOM          49,958.64     1.11             40,988.78            45,322.48              4,636.16                   0.102292659

    Review the following scrap percentages:
    1.     Component Scrap on the Material Master MRP4 View
    2.      Component Scrap on Bill of Material
    3.      Assembly Scrap on Material Master MRP1 View
Any of those is causing your increase.

  • Product Costing - Quantity Structure Off not working

    Hi All,
I have a Material of Type FERT. It has a BOM of its own. When I do the product costing of this material for costing variant PPC4, it always explodes the BOM, irrespective of its status of Indicator "With Quantity Structure" in its Material Master.
    Note:
    1. Costing Variant PPC4 has Indicator "Ignore Product Cost Estimate Without Quantity Structure" set OFF.
    2. BOM is exploded irrespective of the Procurement Type.
Pl suggest a way to cost FERT Material without Qty. Structure (no explosing of BOM, instead directly pick the cost from the FERT Mat Master)
    Br,
    Vasu

    HI,
    1. FYI, if you maintain procuretype as E or X, then explosion of BOM happen. If you maintain F, it is possible to explode the bom.
    2. Let me say, as per the below reqt, you want to pick up the value from the material master itselt. So, i assume, you maintain future price or planned price in accounting view.
If that is the case, then change the costing variant with T code OKKN and in the valuation variant button with strategy sequence start with Future price from accoutnign or current Planned price.
Please let me know if you expect any clarification in this regard

  • Product cost component

    Hello all,
I am trying to create a report painter report which dsiplays all the cost components on the columns and materials along the rows. I have chosen structure KKBE library 7EE to accomplisg the task. However I cannot come up witht the report I want to.
I have started doubting if the table and library even provides with the capability to achieve a report of such nature.
Please advice me whether the library and structure that I am using is right? if not what is the best structure that can be used??
What kind of reports can I make using structure KKBE?
I have been suggested that ABAP report is the best option that we have. Can you please confirm that for me?
I want to know what reason should I put before the management to effectively convince them that report Painter dosen't possess the capability and that ABAP needs to be used? (If that is truely the case)
Points will be duely assigned for all helpfull answers.
    Thanks,
    NIK

I tried defining the report however this is the error message I get when I try and execute the report.
Can someone please advise on how to fix this probs. Above all, please explain in plain english what the message is all about.
"Report contains more than one report object"
    Message no. KN089
    Diagnosis
The report is for more than one report object. This causes performance problems. This is not supportedc in product costing in particular.
Can't really understand what that means?
Also can you tell me what characteristics do I need to pull to define the column for cost component lets say "Direct Depreciation". If you can tell me for 1 cost comp I can emulate the info to define the rest of the columns for diff cost comp.
    thanks
    NIK
