Product Substitution

Hi Gurus
I have a question on product substitution. To use PS in CRM, I have to download the customizing setting, substution reasons and the condition records. After a while if I need to create a new determination procedure, substitution reason or any other new customizing setting, can I perform the activity in CRM and download the condition record from ECC or perform all the settings in ECC and download them via the delta download ?
Please help me clear any misconceptions that I have on this issue...
Thanks
Jessy

Hi Jessy,
"can I perform the activity in CRM and download the condition record from ECC or perform all the settings in ECC and download them via the delta download ?"
1. Performing all the activities in CRM and download the condition record from ECC
Can be Done. You can create a new procedure, substitution reason etc and get the condition record from ECC, using adapter object DNL_COND_D001.
2. Performing all the setting in ECC and doing a delta load.
Even this can be done.Using adapter object DNL_COND_D001 and DNL_CUST_PDD. You will have to either create a request R3AR2, or do an initial load again.

  • Product substitution in SAP CRM Service

    Hi Friends
To replicate product substitution in CRM I have followed the same steps which SAP has provided in help.sap.com
Product Substitution - Sales Quotation and Order Management - SAP Library
    1) After implementing the initial loads using objects DNL_COND_D001,DNL_CUST_PDD products are populated successfully in CRM condition table
    1CN/CCRSAP001 .
    2) Condition type has created successfully and it was assigned In define determine procedure in Application CRM and in Usage PD.
    3) Assigned Condition procedure in Define transaction types to the required process type.
but nothing is happening in CRM Web UI /GUI. Could any one suggest did I miss any steps to activate product substitution .
    Thanks & Regards,
    Siva Krishna

I got an clue and it is SAP using below function module for product substitution purpose , here it is taking ordered product and looking in pricing tables ( in VMC ) is there any substitution products are available or not . if yes then it is throwing the popup. In my case i haven't received any products from pricing tables so I have populated it in Debug Mode . then I got a popup to select the product with description as Sales Order Item xxxxxx have below substitute products but now I am doing all this process in CRM service order.

  • GATP Product substitution

    Dear Friends
I have a query in SAP-APO 4.0 GATP, product substitution functionality.
I am undertaking a product substitution procedure for a component in a BOM .
i.e we want one component to be replaced by another component (in case of
non-availability of the component) . What we observed is when we maintained the
checking horizon(planned delivery time in R/3) for the said componet as 5 days
only then the product substitution seemed to work during the ATP check stage
(while creation of sales order) but the due date is getting pushed by the
checking horizon of the non-available material .My query was
    a) Ideally if the substitute product is available at the plant I don't see
the reason why the due date is getting extended by the checking horizon ? What
could be the reason for the same?
    b) When the checking horizon was changed from 5 days (both , <5 days & > 5
days) then product substitution did not occur and only the due date was getting
extended by the checking horizon .Why is the product substition not taking
    place?
Request the group to share their insights & knowledge in helping me solve this
    Thanking you in anticpation
    rgds
    Bipin Ballal

    Hi Bipin,
The behavior of the system is really strange if it shifts the due date by the no. of days in CH. Its also surprising that it works at a specific value.
I feel it has nothing to do with CH as it is only the no. of days beyond which the material is available indefinitely. Lets get into it a little deeper:
You are expecting a product substitution of a dependent material during Sales Order creation.
So it must be Rules based ATP with multi level ATP check. You will also be having CTP. Check the following settings:
    1. PP Planning procedure; should be automatic planning or multilevel ATP.
    2. Corresponding strategy group to be maintained in R/3 and the material should also have external planning.
    3. Check your PPDS fixing horizon. If the due date is before this, it will shift the date.
    4. In Maintain Check instruction: see that you have create remaining requirement at header level.
    5. In multilevel ATP settings you should have remaining requirements at component level. And also define the business event it should happen during. I.e. while sales order creation or during automatic planning.
    6. I hope your rule maintenance is working perfectly in check mode..
Hope this helps, or you can get back with more details.
    Thanks & Regards

  • FM/BAPI for Product substitution List

    Hello All,
I have a requirement wherein the user will enter substitution materials for a particular material. I have to update these substitution materials in APO so that it will be reflected in tcode /N/SAPAPO/RBA04(Maintain Product Substitution Tab)
Is there any FM or BAPI to do so?
    Regards,

    Hi
Can any one tell me the parameters which need to be passed to BAPI "BAPI_PSPSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI  ".
I have  to create Product substitution using this BAPI  which should be reflected in /SAPAPO/RBA04 tcode.

  • Event controlled product substitution case in SAP IS Retail

Requirement: Event controlled product substitution case
SAP System: SAP ECC 6.0 with IS Retail and without F&R and APO
To check for the available stock of original material and replace it with a FU/Replacement material if the stock is zero or less than the ordered quantity (in a STO).
We have done the following to achieve this:
    1.     SAP IMG: Maintain Follow up Categories
Created a Follow up category number: 01
    FU Category: Replacement material
    Priority and Validity: checked
    Check cycles: No check
    2.     Using T code: WRFFUART, we have assigned a replacement material to a original material and provided validity period with priority 01.
Issue: While creating a STO or at the time of Delivery creation, the original material is not getting replaced with the substitution material (depending on the stock situation)

    Hi,
    is this issue still open?
Does the replacement article have stock?
Have you activated the substitution processing?
In the article substitution - application-specific control profile how have you maintained the parameter Quantity Control for Replacement Articles - Event Controlled? There will no quantity from the replacement product ordered when you use option 'Original Article with Available Quantity; If 0: Substitution Article with full quantity').
    Kind regards,

  • Condition Table for R/3 Product Substitution in CRM

    Dear Experts,
    I managed to download object DNL_CUST_PDD, DNL_CUST_CND_PD, DNL_CUST_CNDALL.
And also for condition object DNL_COND_D001. I believe that this D001 should contains the material determination which has been maintained in R/3.
    Now, my doubts :
    1. In tcode SLG1 (after downloading DNL_COND_D001), the result is No Entries Determined for A Tables (Block 1)
        Message no. CND_MAP312
In R/3 there are some data entered through tcode VB11. (Material Determination condition maintenance)
    2. Where do I find the result table containing the condition material determination in CRM?
What is the table name where I can open it in tcode SE16?
    Highly appreciate on your help.
    Regards,
    Gun.

I found that the condition table in R/3 is KOTD970 while in DNL_COND_D001 only specify table KONDD,
KONDDP, KOTD001 and TMC1K. I check that table KOTD001 In R/3 has nothing on it (no records).
After I added KOTD970 in this object and started the initial load again in CRM, the download status error
says that there is no /1CN/CCRCUS970 active available.
I assume that this table has to be created first before I start initial download of this object.
I restarted initial load for object DNL_CUST_CNDALL, again I found error in SMQ1 = *A dynamically specified
column name is unknown*. In SMQ1 I can see it was stopped at FM CRS_FIRST_DOWNLOAD_TRIGGER
I have checked SAP NOTE nothing much help referring to this error (or may be have I missed it?).

  • Substitution of products in MM

    Hello,
I want to implement a standard Purchasign process in the food industry. My client is using SAP R/3 4.70 (Enterprise)
This industry is caracterised by product sustitutions - for example, one is buying a bottle of salad-dressing of 1 Liter, but your vendor only has bottles or 2 Liters available. In store, these are two diferent SKUs with diferent Material codes.
Is there an easyway to use product substitution in Pur.Requisitios and/or Purchase Orders in SAP? Without using adicional programing!
Anyone has experience with these kind of situation?
    Thanks for any reply.
    Aart

    See attached link:
Since these are complete different materials SAP requires you also register them in this way. Probably these 2 articles have different value and also for stock taking it is important to count them separate. You don't want to mix  2 different articles. If you want, you can create a workaroud by creating an inforecord for the alternative material from the alternative supplier, but for the above mentioned reasons this is not recommended.
I don't know the purpose of this material. Is it a raw material or a trading article?
If it is a raw material I believe you can create an alternative BOM with the 2 liter can, if it is not in stock MRP wil create purchase requisition with this article
If it is a treding material you can use material determination to find an alternative article if the standard material is not in stock. If this alternative is also not in stock   MRP wil create purchase requisition with this article. Dependent on the MRP settings of you material.
Maybe you can also use MPN(Manufacturer Part Number) as a solution.
It's long ago I have been working with MM but hope this reply will help you.
    Kind regards,
    Benno Mateman

  • Product proposal and substitution

    Hi All,
Can we employ product substitution and product proposals n the mobile sales.

    Hi,
as far as I know product substitution is not available for sales transactions.
In product proposal scenario you may select between product hierarchy, order history or PPRs.

  • Material Determinatioin Or Substitution in CRM - based on R/3

    Dear Friends,
    I am using CRM 2007 SP5 and R/3 4.7 SP31.
In R/3, i maintain material determination. so, in my sales orders (Tx:VA01) it is working fine.
In CRM, i create service order and it is replicated to R/3 as Debit Memo Request (DMR), So, i can view this DMR in VA03. Here, some material numbers is replaced by new material. Because, i maintain material substitution in R/3 side.
This substitution information not maintained or not transferred to CRM system and i did not received any intimation at the time of i entered service order.
So, can any body help me to, configure  Product Substitution CRM based on my R/3 configuration.
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajagopal
    Chennai - INDIA

    Hi Rajagopal,
Can you check your product substitution customizing. Your "Reason for substitution" should have the checkbox "Display Substitution Product" flagged, so the substituted product can be displayed on the sales trasaction.
Also, maybe check if notes 1605060 and 1479109 are relevant.
    Best regards,

  • Issue with Product Allocation Scenario

I am Trying out Product Allocation in APO (SCM 5.0).
Relevant setup in SPRO - Product Allocation Object, Group, Procedure, Sequence etc., Planning Object Structure, Planning Area, CVC generation, Connection between Planning Area and Product Allocation object in GATP, assignment in Location Product Master (at Customer Location) Product Allocation Procedure, Check mode, ATP Group has been done in APO.
After entering data in appropriate keyfigures (Allocated Qty) it shows up under GATP>> Reporting >> Product Allocations >> Time Series per CVC
Have carried out ATP Simulation to check that for a given product at Customer the Product Allocation against a Required Quantity takes place correctly.
Now trying to carry out the Product Allocation check by creating a Sales Order in ECC. In that case during the material availability check screen in APO, the product allocation does not show up.
I believe it is related to master data settings for the product in ECC. My questions are as follows:
    1. In ECC the product exists at the manufacturing plant only (and not at customer as in APO). There in MRP3 tab Strategy Group is maintained. Is this along with Availability Check field responsible for determining the check instruction (combination of check mode + business event) in APO for the Product Allocation check.
    2. If so (which I guess it is) I can see the check instruction picked up in APO while creation of sales order in ECC is different from the check instruction I ran simulation with. How can I ensure the same check instruction is chosen (in which case I believe the availability check result will be same as the ATP Simulation carried out in APO).
    3. In APO I ran simulation for the product at customer location (and maintained the required ATP settings in the product master). In case of Sales Order creation in ECC how does system pick up the Check Mode and Business Event for the product (having Sold-to as customer and Supply Plant as the plant code) and use it in APO.
    4. Any other setting/configuration that is missed causing this behaviour.
I guess some of the questions is a bit hazy but I would appreciate if someone can outline the Product Allocation Scenario. I am trying out based on Building Block S59 Demand Planning for Product Allocation but of course it does not detail out enough.
Disclaimer: My knowledge of GATP is almost nil but am exploring.
    Thanks,
    Somnath

    Hi Somnath,
It will be a pleasure to help you out.
Firstly I will list out all the steps which I can think of:
    (1) R3-You have moved all the ATP customizing from R3 to APO via ATP integration model.
    (2) APO- goto SPRO>APO>GATP>General Settings>Maintain Check Instructions
Here go to Check Mode- 041 and Business Event- A and maintain the following settings manually in development and migrate it all the way to Production
I am assuming here that you want to first do an allocation check and then availability check**
Product Allocation: Change from NO CHECK to First Check
Product Check: Change from First Check to Second Check
This check mode and business event is the most common one which is triggered while placing a sales order
See the following blog for DETERMINATION OF CHECK MODE
    http://solution-timezone-issue.blogspot.com/
There might be other check modes( 030, 050) which might also require this change. However you can judge that while placing a sales order and when you go to the availability screen, You have the tab - SCOPE OF CHECK CONTROL where you can see the Check Mode + Business Event
Following guidelines can be used to modify Check Instrctions after Customizing Import from R/3 –
    1.     Business Event A*  is Sales Order Entry (The main scope of GATP) so define check instructions for all check modes since it is not possible to identify the requirement class that may come over on an order. For Business Event A* if availability check was being done in R3, then define check instructions with Allocation as first step, then Availability check as second step. Else if no availablity check in R3 then define check instructions with no availability and no allocation checks.
    2.     Business Event B* is  normally for deliveries but is also required for Rush Sales Orders. An R/3 configuration showed that 041 is the only requirement class that will come across for this business event. Hence defined only for 041 check mode. For Business Event B* if availability check was being done in R3, then define check instructions with Allocation as first step, then Availability check as second step. Else if no availablity check in R3 then define check instructions with no availability and no allocation checks.
    3.     Business Event 03 required for Inventory Transaction availability check such as MB1C. For such transactions, the APO Product Master Check Mode is used. Hence check instructions for all Check Modes are maintained. For Business Event 03 if availability check was being done in R3, then define check instructions with Availability check as first step. Else if no availablity check in R3 then define check instructions with no availability checks.
    (3) Maintain the Product Alllocation Procedure:
    <b>a-</b> Create a Product Alloc Object -- Example: PAO-001
In this step, we define the product allocations objects - product allocations are saved per object for a characteristics combination in the product allocation group.
Product Allocation Procedures can be used to maintain different Product Allocation Objects for different time validity periods.
Generally Product Allocation Objects are used to model the different ‘reasons’ for the need for allocation – material shortage, capacity constraint, etc.
    <b>b-</b> Product Alloc Group--PAO-1234
A product allocation group defines a group of characteristics against which allocation checking is done.
Creating a Product Allocation Group creates a characteristics directory in the APO database and an area in Live Cache where the key figures are maintained.
If ‘Check Planning Area’ is set to No then allocation and incoming order quantitiy data can be seen in table /SAPAPO/QTTAB. If the ‘Check Planning Area’ is set to Yes then no data is stored in this table and the allocation check is done directly against the data in the Planning area.
Detials of allocationconsumption by sales orders are maintained in table /SAPAPO/QTVB in APO and in QTVB in R/3.
If ‘Check Planning Area’ is set to ‘Yes’ and if there are users are in the change mode in the Planning Book, Sales Order Entry can get locked out.
If ‘Check Planning Area’ is initially set to yes and then deactivated later you will no longer see data in /SAPAPO/AC42.
    Settings:
Check Planning Area – Yes. The reason being that users are not expected to lock planning books as they would be defaulted into the display mode (through a development object). Also most allocation uploads will be through batch jobs. Setting it to ‘Yes’ reduces one step of moving data between the planning area and the allocation group.
Check Date - Material Availability Date. Consumption of allocation quantity and checking of available allocation quantities is determined by the check date.
    Time Bucket Profile – Week
    Characteristics – Product Allocation Object (1), Product (2), Plant(3), Customer(4)
Consumption Period – Bwd Consumption 1
Meaning that first the order will consume from current week allocation and then go 1 week backward to consume.
    <b>c-</b> Product Allocation Procedure --- PAO-4567
    Step Sequence:
    <i>Step</i> -
    <i>Step Name-</i> -
    Prod Alloc Group -
    Wild card
    1                      First Step             PAO-1234                     9
    <i>Alloc Procudure</i> - PAO-4567
    <i>Prod Alloc Step</i> -1
    <i>Control</i>
    <i>Valid from -
    Valid to---- -
    Object -
    Active -
    Factor</i>
                            12/31/2037      PAO-001    Check the Box                  1
<b>d-</b> Maintain Connection to Planning Area (APO)
In this step, we maintain the assignment of the planning area to the product allocation group. We must make this assignment because characteristics of the product allocation group have different names from the info objects of the planning area.
All characteristics of a product allocation group must be assigned to an info object. But multiple info objects can be assigned to one info object. It is not always necessary to assign every info object to a characteristic. It is possible for aggregation and disaggregation (depending on the direction of transfer) to take place with info objects that are not assigned.
    <i>Product Alloc Group -
    Planning Area -
    Version -
    Time Buckets</i>
    PAO-1234                         xxxxx                     000             W
    <i>Characteristic</i>
    KONOB - Prod Alloc Obj
    MATNR --- Material
    WERK -
    Plant
    XXXXX---- Customer
    <i>Key Figures</i>
    Order Qty - AMENGE
    Alloc Qty - KCQTY
<b>e-</b>  Check the Product Alloc Settings
This is only a check- Everything should be green and OK .
    (4) You have planned the Characteristic Combination on which you want to do ALLOCATION.
<b>Create a new POS-</b> Which has your chracateristics as PRODUCT, PLANT,CUSTOMER, Product Alloc Object ( 9AKONOB)
<b>Planning Area,-</b> Key figures required are Alloc Qty, Order Qty( Sales Order Qty)
<b>PLannig Book, Data View</b> which has the following characteristics- Product, PLant
Assuming you are allocating at the following CVC level- Product, PLant,Customer
    Step 1:
/n/sapapo/MC62-Create Time Series- Basicallly your CVCs -
Example: Product 1234, Plant INDIA, CUstomer WALKART
    Step 2:
Move Characteristic Values Combination to Allocation Group (APO)
    /SAPAPO/ATPQ_PAREA_K
    INput :
    Planning Area: xxxx
    Prod Alloc Group: PAO-1234
    (5) In the INtegration MOdel - Activate the ATP CHECK Integration model for the Plant and material
THis is the KEY which decides whether availability should be done in R3 or APO
Material Active in the integration model -- Means Availability( GLOBAL AVAILABILITY: Prod Alloc+Prod Availability) is done in APO
Material not active in the integration model --- Means Availability Check is done in R3
    (6) APO MASTER DATA SETTINGS:
Material Master:  On the ATP Tab, Assign Loc Dep Procedure ( Prod Alloc Procedure)
Location Master: Calendar Tab> Create a shipping time stream calendar
Additional Info: Please contact your R3-SD people as this involves a lot of understanding and I have not listed all the details here.
This config shown here is a very basic one which not even 25% of the companies might be using.
If you have any questions on this part- please see my business card and email me**
    (7) SCHEDULING: This is a major task which determines the route and transit times for calculating the
    Material Availability date
    Goods Issue Date
    Delivery Date
on the sales order line item- schedule line
I dont know whether you need info on this**There are many ways of doing this
    a- Configurable Scheduling
    b- COndition records
    c- User Exit
You can find documentation in SPRO or else let me know*
For simplicity- Let me take the easiest to create and difficult to maintain master data- Condition Records
Step1 --Define Field Catalog for Condition Table (APO)
    /SAPCND/AU01
Require Plant and Route defined here in the field catalog
Step 2- Define Condition Table for Scheduling (APO)
    /SAPCND/AU03
    Create a new table- 901
901 -  Pick Time based on Route with key as Route
902- Route Time based on route
Step 3- Maintain Access for Scheduling (APO)
    /SAPCND/AU07
Take the important ones- PICK and TRAN
I am assuming again as I dont know what kind of Scheduling is maintained on R3 Side. Mostly 80% companies have only two lead times- Pick and Route Transit time.**
PICK- Select pick and click on accesses > <i>Acno</i>-10-- <i>Table</i>-901
             >> Then save it > and go in again
Select PICK and click on Fields> A popup will appear > Enter the access sequence as PICK--- Enter the access as 10  and click on the GREEn ARROW and save it
TRAN- Select TRAN and click on accesses > <i>Acno</i>-10-- <i>Table</i>-902
             >> Then save it > and go in again
Select TRAN and click on Fields> A popup will appear > Enter the access sequence as TRAN--- Enter the access as 10  and click on the GREEn ARROW and save it
Now coming to maintaining the Condition records in APO EASY ACCESS
    /SAPCND/AU11
Create  SCheduling Step for PICK : Enter condition type- PICK
    <i>Enter Route</i>- USCAN --- <i>Duration</i> -24:00 (Hrs)
Create  SCheduling Step for TRAN: Enter condition type- TRAN
    <i>Enter Route</i>- USCAN --- <i>Duration</i> -48:00 (Hrs)
Now Let me answer your questions:
    (1) Question 1- <i>In ECC the product exists at the manufacturing plant only (and not at customer as in APO).</i>
I did not undertsand what you mean here. As we can create a Material at the following locations in APO( Dist Center(DC), Manu Plant(PL), Cusomter, Vendor, etc)
For GATP all we need is the material at a PLant location
STrategy Group on MRP3 tab: This is purely used for determining the CHECK MODE value on APO Product Master.
When this is blank on R3, the check mode will be blank on APO.
However SAP recommends Putting in a strategy group value on R3 Material Master
    or
a default Check MOde value for all those Products who have blank check mode-   041 is the best value * This piece SAP hasnt recommended but I found that there is No harm in anyway and it is MANDATORYfor inventory transactions like GOODS ISSUE otherwise you will get a QUEUE in SYSFAIL **
Even if this is blank this has no effect on the GLOBAL ATP as the Check mode for a SD transaction is determined as follows
98% of the SD transactions will generate a CHeck mode of 041 and Business Event- A ***
Through the item category and the MRP type in the MRP view
The item category is derived from the item category group in the Sales view of the material master record and from the order type of the sales document. Together with the MRP type in the MRP view of the material master record, the item category determines what requirements type is selected. The advantage of this method is that the selection of the requirements type depends on the business process (such as quotation, sales order, or repair).
    (2) Question 2 - I guess now you must have understood why when you do a simulation in APO, it is taking the Check mode from APO product Master
and when you do a ATP Check from R3, the check mode(041) is different
You dont need to ensure that they are the same- It doesnt matter in anyway.
    (3) Question 3- <i>In APO I ran simulation for the product at customer location (and maintained the required ATP settings in the product master).</i>I
When you run ATP simulation- AC04, you generally run it for the plant as that is the supplying location and not the customer.
<i>In case of Sales Order creation in ECC how does system pick up the Check Mode and Business Event for the product (having Sold-to as customer and Supply Plant as the plant code) and use it in APO.</i>
PLease look above for this answer.
    (4) Question 4 - <i>Any other setting/configuration that is missed causing this behaviour.</i>
To my best knowledge, whatever I could remember I have listed out. However there are some more steps which might be needed.
Follow all the steps as I have mentioned and whenever you get struck somewhere, shoot me a message and I will help you.
ONe more pointer here to what you have mentioned
Relevant setup in SPRO - Product Allocation Object, Group, Procedure, Sequence etc., Planning Object Structure, Planning Area, CVC generation, Connection between Planning Area and Product Allocation object in GATP, assignment in Location Product Master (at Customer Location) Product Allocation Procedure, Check mode, ATP Group has been done in APO.
After entering data in appropriate keyfigures (Allocated Qty) it shows up under GATP>> Reporting >> Product Allocations >> Time Series per CVC
<u><i>Have carried out ATP Simulation to check that for a given product at Customer the Product Allocation against a Required Quantity takes place correctly.</i></u>
Somnath, I believe you might have a wrong picture here. The concept of allocation is  Controlling Supply against huge Demand which is in this case coming from SALES ORDER
When you place a sales order, the supplying location is your plant and that is where you would like to put in allocation quantities
Say for example for a material 12345 - You have stock of 100 Qty in Plant KING fo this week and it shows as follows in the planning book
Customers say are WALKART, GE-FUG, MACROGUN
The CVCs which we have to create are as follows
    Similar to Demand PLanning**
    Material 12345 -PLant KING-Cust WALKART-Prod Alloc Obj
    Material 12345 -PLant KING-Cust GE-FUG-Prod Alloc Obj
    Material 12345 -PLant KING-Cust MACROGUN-Prod Alloc Obj
And this is how it appears in the planing book when you go into DETAILS ALL
You basically enter the Allocation Quantities just as how you enter forecast quantities in DP Book*
                            Wk1   |  WK2     WK3   WK4  WK5
    Alloc Qty                     |
    Material 12345                |
    Plant KING                    |
    Cust WALKART            50    |
    Cust GE-FUG             30    |
    Cust MACROGUN           20    |
    Incoming Order Qty               |
    Material 12345                   |
    Plant KING                       |
    Cust WALKART           <u>50</u>|
    Cust GE-FUG            <u>25</u> |
    Cust MACROGUN          <u>20</u> |
<u>50</u> : Say the Cust WALKART has ordered 250 for this week, however only the allocated quantity -50 will be confirmed for him and the remaining 200 qty will be confirme at a later week when he is given the allocated amount.
<u>25</u> :Similarily say this customer GE-FUG has ordered 20 qty. So his remaining allocation is basically 5 which cannot be used by any other customer.
<u>20</u> : Say this customer MACROGUN has ordered exactly the allocated amount of 20. So his remaining allocation will be 0.
This is the basic idea of how Allocation Concept is used in GATP.
Ofcourse you can add the other functionalities like
Rules Based ATP(LOcation Substitution, Product Substitution)
    Multi ATP( BOM-COmponents)
    Check Aginst Forecast
    Etc Etc
Like any other module of SAP- this module has much to offer which unfortunately I cannot list here**
GOOD LUCK and let me know If you need additional help.

  • External order document number in Substitution Switchover (F&R)

    Hello,
We're using F&R as a stand alone system, there's a question for product substitution follow-up time controlled.
When getting the substitution switchover information from the legacy system (non SAP) into F&R, the external order document number (org_ref_h, org_ref_i, org_ref_sched) is needed (interface error without these fields).
But since we're not using SAP Retail, there's no outbound delivery that triggers the substitution (no PO number), therefore no external order document number is available to F&R. Substitution will happen after F&R receives the switchover information and when the switchover date is reached.
In this case which order document number should we use?
    Thanks,
    Yang

    Hi Yang,
could you solve this issue meanwhile?
The fields org_ref_h, org_ref_i and org_ref_sched are not obligatory to fill. But you told you got an error.
    Kind regards, Rainer

  • GATP - Issue with substitution rules with validity dates

    Hi,
We are using GATP with RBA. Our condition table has plant as a field.
We are planning to have a substitution procedure (rules) defined at plant level.
Our rule control for product substitution list is "Start from top of list"
The issue we are facing is explained below.
The first item in the substitution procedure (rule) cannot have validity dates.
So it will always be balnk. And validity dates can be maintained for other items in the procedure (rule).
What happens in our scenario is when there is a requirement on an item in the substitution procedure (rule) which has  a validity date, the first item in the procedure (which can never have validity dates) is never considerd for substituions.
If I remove the validity dates, then the first item in the procedure (rule) is considered for substitutions.
We find this strange and against our business requirement. We want the first item in the procedure (rule) to be considered for substitution ireespective of the validity date for the requested product.
It would be great if you could suggest a method to achieve this.
    Thanks & regards,
    Arvind.S

    Hi Mohan,
    Thanks for the response.
We are using back order processing (BOP) for allocation.
We observed that the first item was not getting considered for substitution in the BOP results and also in product view after the BOP run. No stock of that item was allocated for the order taken up in the BOP run.
However, we tried rule evaluation also. It shows the first item also, but in actual allocation the issue exists.
We are not using "start immediately" in check instructions.
    Thanks & regards,
    Ashok

  • Material substitution

    Hello,
I am just writing an essay at university about lot sizing models with product substitution and thereby want to give a short look at the possibilities in SAP.
I already found some topics in the SAP Help Portal concerning giving a customer a substitution product when the preferred one is out of stock. What I could not find is wether it is possible to substitute components/ materials in the production process. That means if SAP (perhaps APO PP?) can choose the cheapest component according to given setup cost and per unit production and substitution/conversion costs. E.g. using other available half-finished products that need more conversion but that avoid setting up the prefererd half-finished product, so that the total costs are minimized.
I hope you understand my problem and someone can help me. Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Kari

    Hi YM REDDY,
thanks for your answer and for your offer for further help. There are still some points that are not clear to me.
to 1) I couldn't find anything about "alt. item group" concerning substitution. Could you perhaps send me a link about that? Of course only if you know where to look for, so it doesn't take you too much time.
    to 2) on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/ea/e9b3f84c7211d189520000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
    it is said
"You can define discontinuation data for the following item categories
    -stock item
    -variable-size item"
I suppose stock item means that a substitute is used when the preferred component is out of stock. Do you know what case "variable-size item" is for?
Apart from that, there are two more things. In your answer you mentioned "comparison costs". Is this the difference in costs between using one component or another? What decisions depend on these costs, is it just setting the price of the product or even planning the production with either one or another component?
At last there are the substitution rules. Are there given rules you can choose of, or do you have to set any boolean rules by yourself? Are there further rules than "is there enough material available? yes/no" or "does the customer accept the properties of the substitute? y/n" to make SAP choose a substitution component?
I know these are a lot of questions. So I would already be glad, if you just answer the ones, that you don't need to look up. Thanks very much.

  • ATP for production order

    Hi Friends,
Need your help to figure out solution for an issue :
I need ability to substitute alternate component when we do ATP during release of a production order.
As far as I know, we can do this in 2 ways
    1) Maintain alternate BOM with the substitute material
    2) Use GATP production substitution procedures
Can you think of any other ways of doing this. I do not want to use GATP (within APO) and want to get this done in ECC itself.
    Please suggest!!!

    Thanks for the reply Suri.
I dont think I can use this as there will be multiple alternates for a product.
Did anybody use GATP for production orders, not CTP or MLATP but vanilla ATP and RBA. Please let me know what precautions should be taken and are there any considerations for using the functionality. I have used GATP for sales orders earlier but never for production orders, I assume functionality should be same except for the business even which would be PP.
    Thanks and waiting for replies.
