Production Order Journal Posting - contain duplicate GL Accounts

Hi All,
We have encountered a rather strange occurance at one of our customer who is in the manufacturing sector.  When a journal is created from the Production 'Receipt from Production' the Journal contents is as follows:
130000 Raw Material DR £100
131000 WIP                               CR £100
131000 WIP                DR £100
130000 Raw Material                 CR £100
                              Total  £200         £200
In some cases the Journal only have the first 2 entries, however is a number of cases the journal is as above..
Has anyone come accross this before and could provide an explanation as to why this occur?
Regards
Earl

From B1 help, you could get:
WIP Material Variance Account
This account holds the variance amounts of the items participate in the production process. Meaning this account holds the variance between the cost of the products and the cost of the components in a production order.
It means whenever you planned quantities or item costs are different from the completed order, you may encounter those accounts.

  • Transaction from production order always post into dummy profit center

    Dear SAP experts,
I have problem with profit center.
I have material master "A1" and "A1B1". The process is "A1" is raw material for making "A1B1".
The CO team forgot to entry the profit center field in both of material in their material master.
So when there are posting " material consumed " and "good receipt" in production order,PL account "material consumed" (happen when good issue to production order) and PL account "production output" (happen when good receipt from same production order) are mapping to dummy profit center.
This because of the CO team forgot to entry the profit center field in both of material in their material master, so ssystem post to dummy profit center.
So I change both of the material masters and entry the profit center field (so it's not blank).
But when the PP team make new production order and post the same transaction, it still post into dummy profit center (the profit center that I entry in material master is not read by system).
Even when the PP team create new material with the same spesification, entry the profit center field and run the same transaction, the dummy still posted by system.
    How to solve this problem?
    Kindly help me please.
    regards

    Hi Anu
After maintaining the PC in the mat master, create a new Prod order w/o copying from the Old Prod Order...
Once you maintain PC in A1B1 - It should update the Prod Order of A1B1 as well

  • Production order creation - posting period is not open

    Dear All,
Could you please explain me what the impact on CO/FI is when I create a production oder? Indeed, the posting period is not open in OB52 but I am wondering why the System issues this message when I use CO01 or CO40.
    Thanks
    D.

    Hi d,
Whenever a production order is created or converted to planned orders, each of these orders carries some activities
which are linked to cost elements in CO and GL accounts in FI.  The system gives you an alert that if posting periods
are not open you cannot settle the production order.  If production order is pending that results in Work in progress
which carries gl accounts relevant to be posted in the particular period.

  • Production order settlement posting

    Hi all,
For our production order settlement now, it is posting to:
Debit u2013  Production Order settlement (OBYC --> GBB --> AUA )
    Credit u2013 inventory
For the credit posting though, in OBYC --> PRD --> PRF it is set to hit the 'cost of goods sold' account instead of the 'inventory' account. What can be causing it to hit inventory?

    Dear,
In production order, there are 3 elements. 1 Material consumption 2 inventory change and 3 is confirmation on which planned cost and actual cost is determined.
Material consumption and inventory change is directly relevant to stock of materials but confirmation is only relevant to activities e.g. labor, machine, FOH and setup.
Settlement is difference of plan and actual cost on production order. This difference can be due to either first 2 elements or 3rd element i.e. activity. That's why it can not be "inventory' account".

  • How to close production Order

    Hi All,
The production order planned and Released date is 17/12/2008, and the Issue for production order document date is 17/12/2009 (it was entered by mistake in the system with 12 months difference).  When you try to close the Production Order the system shows an error.  How we can deal with this sistuation?
    Thanks
    SV Reddy

    Dear,
Kindly check the note 1330151 below:
    Symptom
When closing production order, the error message "Invalid Account" is
shown, although the account settings are correct.
    Other terms
WIP Inventory Account, WIP Inventory Variance Account
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Consulting
    Solution
Please go to "Document Settings", tab "Per Document", Document "Journal
Entry" and check "Allow Zero Amount Line".
    Explanation:
When closing production order, a JE between "WIP Stock Account" and "WIP
Stock Variance Account" will be posted. When there is no difference
between actual component cost and product cost, the amount in JE will be
zero. That's why if zero amount line is blocked in journal entry, the
    production order can't be closed.
WIsh it is helpful for you.

  • Production order and planned order qty should not consider in MRP

    Dear All,
i do not want to consider the previous month production order qty and plenned order qty (Nothing but WIP qty) in the current momth MRP, but the stock has to consider in MRP.
    Example,
    Before MRP,
    material : XYZ
    Stock : 1000
    Prod Qty : 500 for 02.04.2008
    PIR Qty : 2000 for 02.05.2008
After MRP, the requirement should be as below said,
    material : XYZ
    Stock : 1000
    Prod Qty : 500 for 02.04.2008
    PIR Qty : 2000 for 02.05.2008
    Pld OrdQty : 1000 for 02.05.2008
For the above requirement ,i have done settings in the availabilty check like , for include planned order and include production order are "DO NOT TAKE IN ACCOUNT".
Even then also the planned order qty is generating for the "500" only.
please give the solution for the above said requirement.
    thanx in advance
    Regards
    Srinivas

    hi
MRP will always consider the prod order qty while doing nert req calculation. One thing u can do is TECo the prod orders and un MRP then it wont consider prod order qty.
The Availability check will check whether the components r avalaible or not based on ur scope of check

  • Goods Issue from Production Order in SAP

    Dear experts,
I faced one issue not yet solve is that my customer created the production order
then already issue for production for all quantities of child item .
    Example:
    Production OrderItem A
    Item A1 = 2 Qty
    Item A2 = 2 Qty
    Item A3 = 2 Qty
    Issue for Production Item A
    Item A1 = 2 Qty
    Item A2 = 2 Qty
    Item A3 = 2 Qty
But later on, my customer found out that 1 Qty of Item A1 already damaged.
So they want to issue one more Qty of Item A1 instead of one that already damaged.
How can I issue one more Qty for this item?
Please your advices are necessary for me.
    Best regard,
    Borey

    Hello Borey,
Solutions may depend upon the way you want to book the cost for the damaged part A1.
         (a) If you want to book the cost to the production order itself (production order is a cost object), manually book consumption for another quantity using MB1A, 261 movement (you will have to mention the production order during posting this consumption).
         (b) If you do not want to book higher cost to that production order, you can:
               1. Extract damaged quantity of A1 from that production order using MB1A 262 movement.
               2. Create a manual QM lot and after rejection, move that damaged quantity to blocked stock.
               3. You can scrap or rework from that blocked quantity later.
               4. Issue another quantity of A1 from unrestricted stock to that production order using MB1A                261 movement.
    Hope I could help you.
    Best Regards.

  • Production order without referance to sales order in configurable material

    Dear all,
I am trying to create a production order for a configurable material. I dont have a sales order for that. And I can not even create a sales order for some reason.
While creating a production order the system asks for  a account assignment (either a sales order or WBS).
The error which comes while creation is ,
Standard production only allowed with ref. to indivual customer stock
    Message no. CO542
    Diagnosis
Direct order creation for a material to be configured is only possible if it takes place in relation to sales order stock since a configurable material only allows production for sales order stock. A sales order or a WBS element can serve as sales order stock.
    Procedure
You should enter a sales order or a WBS element for account assignment.
    How to solve this.
    Thanks in advanmce.
    Sumeet

    Hi
    1.Create a CIR with transaction with md61
2.You will get a reference number
    3. with that reference number you will be able to create a Produ tion order.
check and let us know if you have any issues

  • Purchase order from production order for stock material

    Hi,
Can we issue purchase order for stock materials (item category L) for components in production order. We want a PO account assigned to production order . How can we achieve that.
    With regards,
    Mrinal

    Dear
1.Goto MM02-Enter componenet item code -Selec MRP4 view -Keep Individula nad Collective indicator as 1
2.Goto MM02-FG Material -MRP4 view -Keep Individaul and Collective indicator -1 and in Sale.Org1 view keep item categoery as MTO .
3.Create Sales Order  and run MRP in MD02 (NETCH , 2,1,1,3,2, 2)-If the compoenets are not available , then it will generate PR  with an Account Assing Categery E with sales order refernce and line item .Converthis PR into PO cnd check the same in Accounting Tab .
This is only possible in MTO scinarion in case you want to have PO account assinged for FG production Order .

  • How to analyse actual cost for each operation in Process/Production Order?

    Hi all,
IN SAP, I know that we can analyze plan cost for Operation in Process Order/ Production Order.
However, I can not analyze Actual cost for Operation .
I know the object when I good issue material is ORDER, not OPERATION.
But, as requirement of users, they want to analyze actual cost for each Operation.
    CAn SAP do this analyze?
If Yes, What should I do in SAP to have this reports?
    THanks in advance,
    Emily Nguyen

    Hi Emily,
as I see from one other message that you're using material ledger. Then your expectation is apparently to also see the actual costs of materials in your production order by operation.
This is not supported. Actual material costs are handed up in material ledger multi-level settlement from one material to the next, bypassing the production orders.
That means the production order will always contain the material costs valuated at plan price, not at actual price.
For activity prices that might be better, when you revalue the orders at actual activity prices with CON2. But even there I am not sure that it will always be assigned correctly to the operations.
There is currently an enhancement in development, the operation level costing. But that will affect more the planned cost side not the actuals. Might be interesting to learn more about your requirements and the use case behind.
    best regards,
                      Udo

  • Production order settlement (co88/ko88)

when we settle the production order variances , it will take one account from OBYC(t-code)/PRD-PRF. But how does systemdetermines the other account?
and what should be the GL entry?
Like Credit which balnce sheet account /P&l account
Or debit which balnce sheet account /P&l account

    Hi,
it is going to hit GBB-AUA or GBB-AUF based on your configuration.
    AUA: for order settlement
AUF: for goods receipts for orders (without account assignment) and for order settlement if AUA is not maintained.
PRD-PRF- GL account should not to be a cost element.make sure that.
Are you analysing production variance in COPA?if so.check the configuration
    1.Configuration like allocation structure,PA transfer structure,Settlement profile.
    2.Variance Analysis configuration,like target version,variance key etc.
    Postings:
    Credit : GBB-AUA or AUF -->
Debit : PRD-PRF--> this should not a be cost element.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks,
    Rau

  • Error during release of production order - AFS Specific

    Hi SAP gurus,
Iam getting error during release of production order in AFS specific system during COHV transaction. Error is ''Error calling ATP server'' and message no is AG022. But when we read the PP master data then this error is cleared and production order is released.
    Thanks & Regards,
    N. Laxman

    hi
    1. When mass conversion of AFS planned order to production order is performed via COHV, the resulting production order does not contain the SKU details of the component.
    2. When a planned order is converted to a production order & an ATP is carried out on the production order, Message no.AG022 - 'An error occurred during Remote Function call on the ATP Server' is issued by the system.
so you need to use the note 1087613.
