Production output releated to work center

Hi Sap Guru,
I am working in steel industry there coil manufacture for different workcenter they get different output of Finshed production.I want my production order output depend upon workcenter such as 100% input if using for any work center then in confermetion it output of Finished product should be fix 90% if i want to use other work center it wil gives output 80% because scrap is generated depend upon work center.
Please guide me whre this scenarion we map.
Thanks in advance

Hi ,
Just my 2 cent advise , you should use production version with different Alternative Bom with different operation scarp rate.
Because based on what i know , Operation scrap Is defined in the BOM item. But you will need different operation based on different work center. by using operation scarp It shows the percentage of the component that is lost as scrap in a specific operation.
Example :
Production version A --- Work Center A ---Alt BOM 1 with Scrap rate 0%
Production version B --- Work Center B ---Alt BOM 2 with Scrap rate 10%
Production version C --- Work Center C ---Alt BOM 3 with Scrap rate 20%
Of course all need based on business requirement need , so there's some others configuration need as well.
TQ.

• How to get a list of production orders for a work center?

Hello SDN Community,
I have an requirement to display in a pop-up window a list of production orders for a work center.
Does anyone know which screens/transactions would show this relationship?
Or better yet, does anyone know how to demonstrate this from the tables themselves?
Thank you,
Dean Atteberry.

Hello Mangalraj.S
>>Goto COOIS-->For the field List select PPIOO000 - operations and layout -->standard layout
>>and execute,by this you will be able to see the operations for each order and to which
>>work center they are assigned.
The system I am working on is ECC 6.0.
For this system the values in the dropdown for the "List" field are "Capacities, Items, Order Headers, Sequences, Trigger Points, etc". But nothing that says PPIOO000 - operations and layout.
>>Or else in the in input screen of COOIS,enter the work center for which you want to see which
>>are the production order's assigned and execute.
For system I am working in, I do get a grid display when entering a work center. It has columns like "Order, Material, Icon, Order Type, MRP cntrlr, etc." But no column with Work Center.
Any further insight into how to use this transaction to display a list of production orders for a work center would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dean Atteberry.

• Production performance report against work center.

Hi PP Gurus,
There is a requirement to develop a production line (work center) performance report in BI which is comprising of Planned setup time, Actual setup time and their variance against a production plant and work center. Input parameters will be Material, Plant, Work center, Date/Week/Month. The scenario is PP Discrete Manufacturing.
Could anyone please tell me how to fetch data from different tables and how to interlink them?
Thanks & Regards,
Abu Arbab

Hi Brijesh,
Thanks for reply
As I told in my first post that I need tables,fields/infostructure that should contain Planned setup time, Actual setup time. I got some infostructure like S022, S024, S281, S282, but I'm not getting exact link between one of them related to input criteria.
If anybody worked on such requirement please reply
Thanks & Regards,

• Automatic release of production order for perticular work center

hello,
any body please help me how to set automatic release of production order when creation for a particular work center. please suggest me.
Thanks & Regards
Bhakta

Dear,
Use T Code COHVOMRELEASE here select work center as ZPACK then in header menu Program--Schedule in background here define as perodic job and set ferquency as Hr.
Or Use Transaction SE38 to create the variants for program PPIO_ENTRY and schedule it through SM36 or use standard variant as SAP&RELEASE.
Please try and come back.

• Standard Values in Production Order for Alternate Work Center

Hi SAP Expert,
I would like to find out whether there is possible solution for the requirements as below:
e.g.
>>> Routing for Product A only has one Operation 0010.
>>> 4 Work Centers/Resources (A,B, C, D) can be assigned to run this operation where all these 4 Work centers/resources are having different capacities (Setup, Labour, Machine hour & Electricity are different).
>>> Out of these 4 work centers, only one work center will be selected (Selection criteria will be based on the capacities & availability).
>>> In my current setting, only one preferred work center (A) is maintained in the routing for operation 0010.
Issue:
>>> If I select the work center B manually in APO during the planned order creation, the Production Order created will be tied to work center B but the standard values captured in the Production Order are still referred to the standard value of A.
Question:
1. Is there any way I can maintained in the routing so that it will captured all the different standard values for each work centers?
2. If the answer is yes for Q1, then can the SAP auto populate the correct standard value into the Production Order according to the work center I selected before the planned order is converted into Production Order?
Thanks.
Regards,
Hooi Chia

Hi,
You can use alternative sequence in routing and mainain three different sequence for all 4 workcenter.
At APO side you can maintain priority for alternative sequence in PPM/PDS.
Now when you execute the scheduling Heuristic depending on priority and capacity workcenter will be assigned.

• Production Orders Controls by Work Center

Hi PP Gurus!
We have to check the production orders by work center. Can we do it? If yes, could you inform us which conditions are necessary to do it?
Our release is 4.6C and we are using PP-Manufacture discrete.
I would like to thank you for help us with this issue...
Best Regards,
Valdevair

Hi Krishna,
Thanks for your reply...
We've executed the transaction according your suggestion, but the values for this column are in Blank in the report.
Is there any specific condition for the SAP shows us?
We are using transaction CO11n to register the hours per operation.
Once more...thanks a lot.

• Work Center

Hello Guru,
I have some question about the work center when pick up by the creation of production order. When we create production order manually via CO01, SAP pick workcenter BSBA111 for this order. And when we convert a planned order to a production order SAP pick work center CAWORK01. same finished product is been consider with this material number 1111002 in plant 0012. why in different way of creating production order, but the system is been picking two different work center with different formula? please explain deeply for my concern.
Thanks

In this case what is happening is that while creating manual Production order you are manually selecting the production version . therefore the routing assigned to that particular production version gets copied & subsequently the work centre assigned to th routing gets copied along with that.
Since you have used selection methood as 3 (selection only by production version) the system searches for the valid production version starting from the 1st production version in your list of production versions & stops as soon as it finds the valid one & selects it.(I.e. the 1st version which is valid for the date of exposion & within the lot size defined)
Now in this case the one which you selected & the one which the system finds during MRP can differ.
Thats why your work centres differ , because the production versions differ.
Therefore If you want the selection to be same in Manual PO & PO by MRP , in OPL8, for your plant & order type , select indicator 0 for Production version i.e. automatic selection of production version.

• Temporary shut down of Work Center

We are taking capacity planning into consideration, and work center is
temporarily shutdown for a period of 12 hrs.
How to capture the temporary shutdown of the work center in SAP, in order
no production orders takes work center into consideration as available capacity during this temporary shut down time
Lastly, if shutdown time is able to capture in SAP, and fixing of work center
is less than 12 hrs (lets assume 8 hrs) How to chance dynamically in orders for the production orders
to consider the work center as available

Thanks for your inputs
We have not implemented PM module. As a work around, we created a
dummy production order (without material - c007) and assigned a operation to the
temporary shutdown work center, this production order filled the work center
temp. shutdown time slot (so, other production orders cannot use it)
Other Parameters we considered:
1. Backward Scheduling
2. Basic Finish Date (day on W/C is temp. shut down)
3. Basic Start Date calculated (From Routing Operation Mins)- Routings operation
minutes maintained in par the temporary shut down time
4. Operation costs: 1cent/hr

• Associate materials with work center

Hello,
For our chemicals production plant, vessels in which HALB products are produced are defined as work centers in SAP. Our business has a requirement that certain vessels can only be used to produce certain materials. Is there a way to capture this requirement in SAP, i.e. associate a work center with specified materials? Help is appreciated.
Regards

Dear Khan,
work centers are not specific to any material production, u can restrict work center usage for the perticular task list by maintaing the field in work center basic data screen task list usauge.

• Long-term planning: planning details of work center capacity

Hi,
we need to know what is the effect on planned production orders (generated by MPS, transaction MD40) of the flag “long-term planning” in planning details of work center capacity (table name: RC68K; field name: KAPLPL). We made a test analyzing planned orders scheduling details in Stock requirements list (MD04) and in the Planning table (CM21) in both cases: with "long-term planning" flag set and without this flag for the same work center.
The schedule of planned production order on that work center is the same in the two instance.
Could you suggest us something?
Thank you.

• Material cost charge to Production Order from Cost Center / Work Center.

In Production Order Environment, is it possible that goods are issued from Storage location to Cost Center / Work Center, and in turn charged to Production Orders.
Scenario. Transformer Manufacturing.
Production Order size : 100 Units
Steel (Kgs) per Transformer : 3 Kgs
Total Steel required for Production Order: 300 Kgs (100x3)
In the process of manufacturing of a Transformer Steel or Core winding is the first process step.
Even though the Steel required for above said Production Order is 300 Kgs, the minimum issuable lot size from stores is 2000 Kgs.
Is it possible in SAP ECC 6.0 that the Steel of 2000 Kgs is issued to a Cost Center / Work Center, and later charged to production order based on actual Consumption in the said Cost Center / Work Center.
Regards, Replies and Sugestions shall be appreciated
Madhu

Thank you for the reply,
However, the scenario that i had in mind was a bit different from what you had conceptualized.
Scenario - These transformers are basically for loading on to Inverters & UPS, The max weight of the transformer range from 15-30 Kgs. and they dont have an external casing of steel as seen on Indian Electricity Board transformers. Multiple production orders are processed at a single time in the Plant as per Customer specifications.
The general process followed for manufacture is as follows:
1. Core Winding u2013 This process takes place in the core winding department. Steel reels are loaded on to Winders and individual cores of approx 5 u2013 30 Cm Diameter are produced. (Multiple reels of Steel are stacked one on top of the other onto a pallet.) Usually issue of steel from stores happens pallet wise. The pallets of steel generally weigh in excess of 2 tons.
In the present situation (Non SAP Environment) the entire pallet of Steel is issued to the Core winding department and later the Output is charged to multiple Production Orders, based on the records of the Core winding dept. Since in general the steel content in the FG ranges from 3- 25 Kgs multiple Production Orders can be catered to from one Pallet of Steel.
2. Core Laithing. The wound cores are laithed so as to make the sides smooth.
3. Core Annealing u2013 Heat treatment process.
4. Core Insulation. u2013 Insulation of the annealed cores with insulating material.
5. Primary Winding. u2013 Copper is wound as per the BOM Specification. The issue like that of Steel also arises in the Copper winding process. Here also the Cooper comes in Spools which far exceed the requirement for any Production Order. The minimum issueable lot for Copper from Stores is one Spool. The current practice followed is that the Cooper is taken in the name of the Copper winding department and later charged to individual Production Orders.
6. Primary Soldering.
7. Mid Insulation.
8. Secondary Winding
9. Secondary Soldering
10. Shielding
11. Final Insulation u2013 Same issue with insulation too, since the insulating material comes in rolls.
12. Testing.
13. Potting & Drilling - Process of pouring a chemical compound in the center of the transformer, which helps the transformer to later be loaded on an Inverter. The same issue with like of Steel, Copper & Insulation arises here too, since the chemical compound comes in big containers capable of meeting production requirement for a week.
14. Packing
15. Transfer to FG Inventory.
One of the suggestions was to issue the entire 2000 Kgs to the Production Order and then return 1700 kgs after completion of the Production Order based on actual usage. However, in my opinion this option might not be practicable because, assuming that I get another / multiple Production orders in between the issue of 2000 Kgs and return of 1700 Kgs, issue to the new Production order will not be possible if the stock in stores was only 2000 Kgs initially. In case assuming that the material is available in stores for the next production order, the situation could worsen in case of receipt of multiple production orders.
Hope, I have explained the scenario & issue being faced.
Regards
Madhu

• All default routing value has to be changed, while changed the work center in production order

Dear friends,
our client they want to change the work center in production order.according to production version work center also they are changed.so while change the WC,all the default value has be changed as per routing what we maintained in routing. At present we have to enter the manually change the W.C as well as set up time and operation time enter manually.Any other option to do the automatically capture value from routing while change in Work center in production order.pl help me on this.
Thanks&Regards
Sabhapathy R

Hi Rahul,
Thanks for reply. I am maintained in diff value maintained routing , Ex :First routing i have work center 'X' value maintained as a setup time in 15 Min's and operation time 10 Min's
second work center 'Y' I have maintained as set up time 10 Min's and operation time 30 Min's,
Now I want to change the work center in production order as a 'Y' so whatever value maintained in routing , it has to be changed automatically (10 min's and 30 Min's), but system will not change only old value only picked (15Min's AND 10 Min's).
Now I think you get to know what the client requirement, kindly do the need full.

• Work center wise production order infomation report

Hi all,
i have a requirement that workcenter wise (with date) production order information with quantity details (plan and actual).
Eg: My production order quantity - 40 nos. (it takes 4 days to finish).
i have three operation in production order.
my order scheduled start date - todays date.
In standard, when enter my first operation work center, system showing production order and its quantity (40 nos) . but i need to split that order quantity in report.. means on todays date for particular production order - order quantity = 10 nos.
Clent want like that (with quantity break) report..
Any standard report ???
If customization.... How it can be mapped in SAP.??

This FM get data from the report used by transaction COOIS. If you needed the header data then you can use lt_ioheader table and seperate the data with the date. If you need at operation basis the you can use lt_iosoper table. You can use this FM to create custom report even with the checks like material availability, PRT availability, capacity requirement etc.
