Profiles for contacts

Maybe I'm just blind at the moment but I can't seem to find out how to view my contacts profiles. Say, for example, if one of them has a long status message, to preview their profile and view the entire status message. Hopefully this function wasn't removed in the new Skype...
Any help would be appreciated!

thme too...I am so sick of receiving contacts calls, but hard to check on their profile..for example I wanted to check on a few profiles...and none came through, yet they have checked mine and they know who am I..how is it possible for this mistake? Please make sure that this is fixed as soon as possible.

I have assigned qualification to Contact Person -- Object Type "PT-Contact Person" but in transaction PPPD, I am unable to display Qualifications Profile for the Object "PT-Contact Person", while I am able to display Qualifications profile for other objects such as "Person"

As per my knowledge qualification profile is displayed only for the object type "P" not for contact person or user even the same problem we faced but according sap help also for contact person you cannot display the profile. please delete that contact person hire him for the same positon and again you can assign him as a contact person and do the qualification profile. As per my knowledge these contact person and user is addition or you can see it is supporting to person so try with the person only.

Roles for Contact Person in MM-SUS Scenario

Hi !
When we create a contact person using the Create user option in SUS, we assign the roles to the contact person. These roles are basically the standard SAP roles for SUS. We have created Z-roles ( a copy of the standard roles) to restrict cetain txns for users and would like to assign these Z-roles to the contact person . How can we ensure that the Z-roles are displayed instead of the standard roles ?

SAP deliver standard roles with authorisations, if You want to maintain your own go to transaction PFCG.
There are two type of role:
- single role
- composite role - (one or more single roles)
To roles You can assign transaction codes, reports, URL links, etc. SAP System automatically creates the authorisations that you can set on Authorisations tab page.
Authorisation:
Authorization profiles must be generated before you can assign them to users. An authorization is generated for each authorization level in the browser view, and an authorization profile for the whole role as represented in the browser view.

Profile for iPhone

Hi,
I am new to Device Central, so I may not understand the App
very well - but I can't seem to find a profile for the iPhone -
which, given its popularity, is strange to me.
Is this because iPhone doesn't support Flash? At least that's

Looking For ICC Profile for Printable Poly

I am trying to find any Icc Profile for Primex Digi-Hips which is a printable poly, or a profile for anything similar. I am running a HP Designjet L25500 60. I have contacted the company which is Primex Plastics Corp and they do not have profiles for any products. Also my searches online have not provided any results. The product is labeled as a high impact polystyrene digital grade, manufactured for UV digital equipment and solvent based inking systems.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Lens Correction profile for Canon 18-200mm IS

Hi,
I'm looking for a profile for Canon lens EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS - I can't find it in Lightroom and at the moment I'm using a profile for similar lenses from Sigma and at first glance it looks ok, but I have to manually find that lens at each photo, which is quite annoying.
I'm sure there's lots of people using same lens (as it comes included in Canon 50D PRO package which from what I hear is very popular), so maybe someone actually took an effort to create the profile using Adobe's lens profile creator?
If anyone has got that profile handy, I would very much appreciate if you could send me a link to where I can download it from or simply contact me.

You can choose "Save New Lens Profile Defaults" from the Setup popup menu, which will remember your choice of profile for the given {camera,lens} combo. That way you won't have to keep selecting the profile manually in the future.
Or you can create a preset.

Raw 3.1 professional custom profiles for highend digital cameras

I have a few questions for thomas knoll:
I would like to start with a statement here:
WHY ??? ....all this messy color calibration with slider inside the raw 3.1 plugin , when it could be so easy and simple :
what you can find already inside high end digital back software like sinar's capture shop or the leaf capture software, is nothing more and nothing less than a plugin called profilemaker , written by greatg mac beth. the leader in this field nowadays.
a software ,which again against license fees, is being implemented in those softwares.
what does it exactly do?...you might ask....
well, here a very simplified explanation :
for ex., you start your shoot with a shot of greatg color chart (24 patch or the big one), and that very" licensed" plugin called profilemaker will calculate a 100% precise and accurate color correction in the form of a custom icc-profile for you.
in just a few seconds.
so that that red from the chart that you took a picture of, is going to be that very same red in the final file in photoshop.
it puts something like a correction curve over your original raw file, so that it matches that very color from chart you just shot.
such colors is a game of numbers and formulas, and certainly not a slider function to fumble around with, where one person will say this red is correct, and another says no, this red is the right one.
something like profilemaker is incredibly accurate , because its pure mathematics, and not a form of lottery...!!!with an infinit number of possibilities when one would use sliders like in raw 3.1..
sliders that fighteach other, especially the ones in the calibrate tab section.
it takes a few second for a profilemaker software to make an 100% acurate custom color correction , in the form of a custom icc profile for your shot / and or digital camera.
if you have ever experienced this shortcut and these amazingly beautiful rich colors you can achieve with such a software, you will NEVER EVER go back.
I am not sure why adobe has not come up yet with their "own" version of such a profilemaker portion inside raw plugin 3.x.
they certainly have the know how to do this.
i would dare to state here, that it probably would take them only a few days to implement such a feature.
or , why adobe is not implementing an optional upgrade with "gretags" profilemaker , inside their raw plugin.
I certainly can count hundreds , probably thousands of photographers, who would be more than happy to pay for this feature. even if the license fees would be above 300$ for such an upgrade.

I have done many DlogH curves, and at one point, owned the Zakia /Todd book. No, the toe does not change much with increased development, but it does change. And yes the changes beyond middle gray (Zone 5; 18% gray)are greater than below, but again, it does change. Film speed does change as a function of development, and film speed is based (variously over the years) on just how the film comes out of the toe, it is inescapable that the curves pivot about the toe, roughly speaking, that is. The curves not only pivot there, the toe can increase in F+F value thereby showing a vertical displacement on the plot. If you take individual plots of a particular film over differing development changes, and overlay the curves such that the toes merge (roughly!), you will see that the slope of the curve does rise from the toe. I have lots of graphs in storage if you would like to see them.
I am familiar with AA's procedures. I studied and used them from about 1961. One of the reasons I ran so many curves is that I was interested in the so called compensating development, such as water bath, special formulas etc. I ran the curves on Plus-X, Tri-X, Tri-X professional, Panatomic-X, and other emulsions whose names I have forgotten. What I found out is that Plus-X didn't respond to compensating development at all. I could lay the reference curve over the DUT and they would match exactly. Quite a shock. I remember a film rated at ASA 250 that responded admirably, but way too grainy, even in 4x5.
I used two methods. One was to contact print a step tablet, the other was to shoot the tablet using an old diffusion head as a light source. I could tell how much support in the shadows I was getting from flare that way. Oh, and the one way that always worked was pre-exposure, sometimes post exposure. I could lift the toe nicely that way.
Plus-X had the straightest middle section of all. Ruler straight. Tri-X had a significantly different toe than Tri-X Professional.
Every meter measures luminance and can allow you to measure the scene dynamic range. A one percent spotmeter becomes an averaging meter for extreme telephotos, just as there is no such thing as a panoramic camera with a fixed lens. It's just cropping for the panorama, and whether a handheld meter is averaging or spot depends on the relative focal length of the taking lens.
The idea that a hand held averaging meter cannot give you the dynamic range of a scene is nonsense. Have you ever read "The Negative", first edition of AA? He explains how to use a meter to obtain dynamic range, if you cannot do that, you cannot even begin to use the zone system. He even described using a tube set into the meter element to do a rudimentary spot meter. I had several Weston Masters which had this homemade accessory. it was pretty neat, but boy, did it rob you of sensitivity!
Look, a metering system is simply some sort of light sensitive material which provides a change in some electrical parameter for a corresponding change in the light level. On it's own, you would simply see a needle move across the face plate. Putting numbers on the face plate corresponding to some light unit (Lux, Ft. Candles, Candles/ft^2, etc) allows you to quantify the responses. What you ultimately do with these numbers is one of the biggest parts of sensitometry as applied to photography. As you say, that application to digital is different than to film, but only because the demands of the digital medium requires it. I could just as easily build an exposure system for film based specifically on highlight placement. Film chose a different route, and, so far as I can tell, the optimum route. If digital and film had developed concurrently, perhaps we would reconcile the two systems so as to avoid the condition we find ourselves, at least those of us raised on film. The new guys, well, they will probably chortle over the Dodge/Burn application. They will have no appreciation for negatives. It took a while in the darkroom with the counterintuitive nature of dodge/burn when I started up.
I am enjoying this exchange, Jeff. It clears the air, and reminds me that in order to most easily grasp the digital concepts, I am better off with my engineering hat than the photographer's hat. I'm in my late 60's and it's too easy to slip into old patterns. Changing hats works well, and I am glad I can do it.

Setting a profile for calendar event

I would love to be able to set a certain profile for a calendar item. Surely with everything a BB can do it do this and I am just missing the setting.

I doubt if you can have such a profile setting. But, you can use the car hands-free to use voice-dialling, instead of scrolling up to the contacts to make calls. Also, you can set up the hands-free profile to answer calls automatically (Settings -> Enhancements -> Car kit -> Auto answer = on). This means, once you connect your phone to the car-kit, you will be able to answer calls without pressing any buttons - neither in the phone or in the car-kit.

Copying or installing paper specific colorsync profiles for my canon ip4300

I have the specific colorsync profiles for the various types of paper loaded for my canon IP4300 on one of my imacs that i moved upstairs. I have one of the new 2.8 C2D 24inch imacs now connected and i want to print from it to the Canon. the problem is that i do not recall how i got the profiles onto the other mac. i want to copy the profiles and get them onto the new imac. I cannot seem to find them after looking at EVERY library file on the system and searching for the profile names etc. Please help me know where to look and how i can get them moved over or get the profiles from somewhere and install them. they are not on the disc that came with the printer.
As a side i know i can print across the network but it requires that i go up and down the stairs and across the house to check output.

Normally, they would be in the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder. They may also have been installed in the Profiles folder of your user account, but not as likely.
Sometimes though, they are buried in with the printer drivers themselves. As an example, the Epson 4000 we use copied all of the profiles it came with into the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder. We didn't want to use the provided profiles, so we deleted all of them. To our surprise, they all continued to show up in the lists of profiles. Turned out they were also in a package file named SPro4000.plugin in the /Library/Printers/EPSON/ folder.
Have you contacted Canon to see if they could help you locate them?

Set defaults for contacts

HI,
Can anyone tell me how to set the defaults for the contacts. Right now when I save a number in the contacts it is automatically set as a "work" number. I want it to automatically be a mobile number. This will save a lot of cut and pasting. Thanks.

Any user got any thoughts on these anomolies??

Hello, i have the 11.101 version and I imported all my contacts via PC suite and I CAN use the defaults option and the ringtone can be anything I want (apart for video ringtones-they don't work).

Mac OS X Server Refuses to Authenticate One User for Contacts

I have a 10.8.5 Server which has suddenly decided to refuse to accept a password for one particular user, but only for Contacts and Calendars.
The user is a local, ID 502. Changing the password makes no difference. Mail and filesharing still works just fine.
Sometimes it reports a DAV error 1 in the log. This lead me to suspect it was an issue with Apache, though the web & wiki services are not configured but Profile Manager is. WebDAV does work to mount fileshares for this user though. Just CalDAV and CardDAV don't work any more.
Any ideas?

I previously was able to select between my Microsoft Exchange Contacts (work account) and iCloud (personal), but both those options are now gone. I tried turning contacts for both off and on and rebooting, but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Just a guess but if the exchange account is from your employer, your employer may have installed a security profile to your device preventing you from adding or editing contacts in the exchange account by removing the Default Account setting. You would need to check with your employer's IT department to confirm this. You could also test this by adding a Gmail account and turning on contacts syncing with Gmail to see if the setting reappears.

IOS 6.1.4 released for iPhone 5 Adds an Updated Audio Profile for Speakerphone

Apple has just released an Over the Air update for the iPhone 5. It seems to only provide an updated audio profile for the speaker phone. Nothing else listed in the change log.
I would assume that there will be an iTunes downloadable update available shortly.

It obviously is because you didnt understand. The iphone 4's last update to IOS 6.1.3 in some cases caused the phones speakers to not work (in which this happened to mine and a few people I know) which some people got rid of their phones. HENCE the AUDIO UPDATE that they recently posted but only iPhone 5 can download the update. That is my problem. I have alot of apple products diesel vdub and have had apple for a long time but I can't seem to understand why they would do this and I posted this in hopes to find more people that have had this issue and if they did anything to help fix it this issue. Thank you for your concern though.
