Programmatically Add Formatted AutoCorrect: Outlook Word Excel

There are many posts available regarding the addition of AutoCorrect entries, formatted or not, using VB or PowerShell.  These have been very helpful in my efforts to give marketing what they want: a helping-hand to ensure that users are using proper
branding (italics, bold, capitalization, etc.) when typing our brand names.  I now have a PS script which I can apply as a user login script, which creates all the entries.  Unfortunately, after all the effort, I've come to the realization that formatted
AutoCorrect additions made using Word (the only way the community seems to know how to break-in to AutoCorrect from a scripting perspective), apply only to Word.  (This is an insanely frustrating thing from my perspective.)
Is there any way to programmatically add AutoCorrect entries to other Office products, specifically Outlook and Excel?  If not, does anybody know of any reason why Microsoft would design Office in this fashion? It seems remarkably short-sighted on the
surface ...

    Send a file with the screen errors and system data . Also send a couple of files PDF.
    Translates only txt format.

  • Add a MS Word/Excel document to a Calender Event.

    How do I add a MS Word/Excel document file to a Calendar Event so that it can be saved in the Calendar Event? In MS Outlook you just either copy or add the file to the Event and save.

    If it's simple text, I'd copy-and-paste the content into an Event (you have to create it first :-( ) or add the file's URL to the Event. But AFAIK Lightning doesn't let you attach files to Events.
    If you do insert an URL, you may have to think about placing the linked document somewhere where you can get at it regardless of your location. Google Docs, Dropbox or similar, perhaps.
    MS products do enjoy tight integration, but then each is privy to the innermost workings of its stablemates and they can use proprietary protocols and interfaces to communicate with each other. OTOH, they don't share too easily with third party software. If that degree of tight integration is important to you, you need to decide for yourself if it's worth paying for. Speaking for myself, I am mean; I'm happier with a hotch-potch of not-very-well-integrated free open source tools. Thunderbird, Firefox, Libre Office. Oh, and Linux. ;-)

    Outlook Web Access sends an illegal Content-Dispositon header to Firefox. This is no longer allowed in Firefox 8. Firefox 9 will have a workaround for this so that Microsoft has time to fix their software.<br>

    I have a word document of the product, which I am updating for next product release. However, there are some excel, word, and pdf files embedded within a word document. When I double click these embedded files in word, these files open in a new window. However, we deliver documentation to the customer in the pdf format. Therefore, when I am converting the word document in the pdf format, only an icon of the embedded file is displayed and the files do not open in a new window. Can someone let me know how can I embed these files (in word, excel, and pdf format) in a pdf document?

    You must attach them to the PDF file after it is created. You cannot embed file attachments onto a page as you can with Word.

    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create a document based on a predefined template.
    When we create a predefined template, actually the template is bound to the content type, we can retrieve it using its url.
    web.Lists[YourList].ContentTypes[yourContentTypeId].DocumentTemplateUrl
    Then we can retrieve the predefined template as an SPFile, and use the
    OpenBinary() method to get the byte[].

    to open document, and displays orange loading line in the middle of screen. After about +30sec the document opens up, if you reopen document again immediately after opening the first time, its instantly open. Excel and Word files does not always open on first
    attempt from PC or LAN, but does on second attempt. When opening files from within Word/Excel directly, it seems to be instant. Excel files sometimes open with this error "There was a problem sending command to the programme " then opens blank Excel2010. Things

    When you open attachment in Outlook, it will leave a copy to subdirectory under the “Temporary Internet Files” directory, you can empty
    the subdirectory and restart outlook.
    1.      
    Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Run.
    2.      
    In the Run dialog box, type the following command (including the quotation marks), and then click OK.
    "C:\Users\ username \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook"
    3.      
    Open the subfolder under the Content.Outlook folder whose folder name is a randomly generated sequence of letters and numbers. For example, FW0B6RID.
    Note There may be more than one subfolder with a randomly generated
    name under the Content.Outlook folder.
    You need check following registry key make sure the value exists, and if the value contains a valid path

  • I must communicate with Word/Excel/Outlook in a MS world

    Hello all,
    Planning on a move to Mac and want all my cards in order before I venture to my local Apple store.
    My new purchase will be mainly for my personal use (90% of the time), - but - if I need to open/create Word/Excel docs and Outlook email with my Windows users in the office we need to communicate comfortably.
    My question is (since I never used the Mac)---
    What software that comes with a Mac can be used to create/save/open ---
    Word
    Excel
    Outlook
    Are there any knows issues with the Mac versions communicating with the MS versions, or would I be better off with Office 94 ? I thought if I can use what came with the system - why not, save some $$

    TextEdit, which is the built-in text editor in Mac OS X (similar to Wordpad in Windows) will open and save .doc files, but I don't think it'll handle anything too complex. AppleWorks, which comes with iMacs, iBooks and I think Mac minis will also open Office files. You can download OpenOffice and/or NeoOffice/J, both of which are free and will open Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. They're quite good for compatibility, but still have minor problems now and then.
    However, I have to agree that if you expect to be dealing with MS Office files a lot, you should just buy the Mac version of Office. In contrast to my opinion of most MS products, I think Office:Mac is actually quite well done.
    With regards to Outlook files, I'm not sure what you mean. I've never used Outlook, but I was under the impression that it was an email and calendar program, and had assumed that it didn't really deal with files. Mac OS X comes with Mail which is a solid email client, and iCal and Address Book for calendar and contact information. If you need Exchange support, I think your only option is MS Office, which includes Entourage. Entourage is the Mac equivalent for Outlook.

    The startup drive is failing, or there is some other internal hardware fault.
    Back up all data on the drive immediately if you don't already have a current backup. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
    Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

    SInce you seem to be asking everybody, I don't recommend any particular one over the other. I have both installed on this computer along with VirusBarrier X5 and MacScan. I don't currently use any of them routinely, but they are here if I should ever need them. Real-time scanning is turned off, but I keep all but VB up-to-date (my VB subscription expired a few years ago).

    You can certainly use iWork, though I hesitate to recommend it to a seasoned Windows user simply because it would add another level of the unfamiliar with which you would have to gain familiarity. The iWork applications are certainly very competent and in most respects both easy to use and surprisingly powerful. They are not 100% compatible however, though that typically manifests itself in document formatting issues rather than anything more significant.
    I have never attempted to import emails from a Windows system into MacOS - other than in Outlook connected to an Exchange server, thus not really an issue at all. I doubt that the Mail app in MacOS can import directly, but of course you could always set the account(s) up on the Mac and then forward emails you want to keep from the PC. Not elegant, but it works. Virtually any Windows document or file, whichever application created it, can be opened or converted for use on a Mac, and using both systems on my desk each day I rarely see any issues switching stuff from one machine to the other. You may stumble over one or two issues, but likely not significant.
    In switching platforms there will be some inevitable issues, not so much with being able to import your stuff because there's usually a workaround or a utility that can help, but just with getting familiar with the platform and the differences between Windows and MacOS that can obscure their similarities. From time to time the support community here hears from a user who has found the migration very problematic and regrets it, but for the most part the phrase 'I should have done this years ago...' is rather more prevalent!
