Programmatically load fragment

Hello,
I was looking for a way to load fragment dynamically (actually fragment associated with a service. This service can be started (fragment displayed) or not (fragment hidden) in a configuration window).
With the help of bsd (thanks to him) on IRC, I managed to do so by mimicking (actually pretty much copy/paste) the behavior of the EModelAssembler.
The issue I'm having now is that some element contained in the fragment are displayed, some other not. (They all have the To be rendered and Visible option checked, and no Visible whencore expression)
Using the Live Model Editor, I can see that they are loaded. For some reason, it's like the model is not refreshed. Beside, when restarting the application, the hidden buttons are displayed (loaded from the persisted model).
So my questions :
- Is it possible to call for a refresh of the model ?
- When should such a dynamic loading happen ? Right now it's performed in a test addon after application started (using UIEvents.UILifeCycle.APP_STARTUP_COMPLETE). My guess is that it should be able to happen anytime...
Thanks,

  • Programmatically Load Query Component on Page Load

    Hi All.
We have a requirement in which we need to populate the fields of a query component and execute the query...upon loading of the page.
    Our use case:
We have a page in which there is an analytic showing counts of requests in different status (i.e. Open, Closed, In Process).
    Status Count
    ==== ====
    Closed _5_
    Open _3_
    In Process _6_
When the user clicks on the count (which is a hyperlink) we want to take them to the "Search for Requests" page with the criteria filled out and the query automatically executed. For example, if the user clicks on the count of "5" (for Closed)....they will be transferred to the "Search for Requests" page. The query field of "Status" will be defaulted with "Closed" and the query automatically executed (with the 5 requests shown in the result set).
We are using page fragments (.jsff) in bounded ADF task flows.
I am thinking that we need to set up a default activity in the "Search for Requests" task flow that will call the AM Impl method to handle this on the model side but I am unclear on how to programmatically set the criteria that is used in a query component?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    D

In the processRequest of your controller you can invoke a method in the AM which in turn invokes a method in the Search VO which sets the where clause and executes the query.

  • How can I programmatically load a sub VI into my code

    Hi everybody,
I am developing a program for an automated test system to determine the cut off frequency of  low pass filters. The filters in question are simulated in labview as sub VIs  with two inputs (input voltage and frequency) and one output (output voltage.
I have already developed a program that can interrogate one filter and determine its cut off frequency.
My challenge is how to test any of the filters automatically without writing parallel codes for all of them.
Put in another way, I want the program to ask the user to load any of the filters (sub VI) from the desktop or from any other location so the the code I have already writing can interrogate the filters and determine the cut off frequency
    Any suggestion will be appreciated
    Thanks.
    kaydgreat.

There are a couple of ways to do this, depending on your ability. You can do it with a heirarchy of inherited classes, or a selection of VIs with the same connector pane layout. (These are basically the same; classes would be more manageable, and selectable VIs probably quicker to implement)
Search the example finder for 'plugin' to find a plug-in architecture of the latter of the above methods.

  • How to programmatically load and show the front panel of a vi but NOT run it?

Is there a way to load and show the front panel of a vi but NOT run it?  I am starting with the AsynchronousCallAndForget.vi from the example finder and inserted an invoke node with the FP Open method call prior to the Start Asynchronous Call node. The vi I am loading has the "Run when opened" unchecked and the menu bar IS visible so I can manually click the run arrow. Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Why are you using the Async call? If you simply open the VI reference, then call the FP.Open method this works fine. You can then call the VI run method with Wait Until Done set to false if you wish to run it Asynchronously, this is how we did it in ye olde days before we had this new fangled "Start Asynchronous Call" stuff.

  • Can I load a vi into memory programmatically

    Here's the situation (I'm programming in LV7.1)...
I've got a program that runs, which uses the DSC.  I'm wanting to programmatically shut down and quit the Tag Engine when the program ends.  My problem is that when I use "Engine Shutdown.vi", all vi's that use the tag engine have to shutdown before the Tag Engine will completely shut down.  If I call this an wait (monitoring engine status for shutdown), then I get a deadlock error.  If I call this and end the program, then I get a pop up asking if I want to "Stop and close Tag Engine" (and for some reason an error afterwards as well, doesn't describe error, just that a log is being created.)  My goal is to have to pop up or dialog boxes appear that the user has to interact with when shutting down.
So the solution that I believe would be appropriate for this would be to close the main program and have a separate vi (that is independant of the main program structure) call the "Engine Shutdown.vi", then quit itself, closing LV.  So I've been messing around with this...
"Open VI Reference" with the vi path connected as an input (just a simple vi I made to kill the Tag Engine, wait until it falls, then kills Labview).  This is connected to an "Invoke Node" with the 'Run VI' method selected, property 'Wait until done' set to False, and 'Auto Dispose Ref' set to True.
This works all fine on my developement machine, but I imagine I'm going to have issues when compiling this and installing it onto it's target machine.  How would I compile this?  If I add this vi to the build as a Dynamic VI will it automatically be loaded into memory when the program runs (on the target computer)?  If not, is there any way I can programmatically load this vi into memory in such a way where it is not a subvi to my program (else it will have same issues shutting down Tag Engine)?
As always I appreciate everybody's help,
    Sean

Mike, thx for your response.  Let me run this by you...
So if I put Main.vi and Kill Engine.vi in the same folder on my developement machine, have the attached snippet of code execute when Main.vi is ready to shut down (very last thing to run, after all loops conclude) build the app (with Kill Engine.vi as a Dynamic VI), and install the app on the target machine, does it sound by you that this will work?  (Kill Engine.vi is the simple vi I made to shutdown and quit the Tag Engine, wait for this to conclude, then exit Labview).
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • How can I load my data faster?  Is there a SQL solution instead of PL/SQL?

    11.2.0.2
    Solaris 10 sparc
I need to backfill invoices from a customer. The raw data has 3.1 million records. I have used pl/sql to load these invoices into our system (dev), however, our issue is the amount of time it's taking to run the load - effectively running at approx 4 hours. (Raw data has been loaded into a staging table)
My research keeps coming back to one concept: sql is faster than pl/sql. Where I'm stuck is the need to programmatically load the data. The invoice table has a sequence on it (primary key = invoice_id)...the invoice_header and invoice_address tables use the invoice_id as a foreign key. So my script takes advantage of knowing the primary key and uses that on the subsequent inserts to the subordinate invoice_header and invoice_address tables, respectively.
My script is below. What I'm asking is if there are other ideas on the quickest way to load this data...what am I not considering? I have to load the data in dev, qa, then production so the sequences and such change between the environments. I've dummied down the code to protect the customer; syntax and correctness of the code posted here (on the forum) is moot...it's only posted to give the framework for what I currently have.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated; how can I load the data faster knowing that I need to know sequence values for inserts into other tables?

    Hello
You could use insert all in your case and make use of sequence.NEXTVAL and sequence.CURRVAL like so (excuse any typos - I can't test without table definitions). I've done the first 2 tables, so it's just a matter of adding the rest in...

    1. Don't commit in a loop - you only add to the run time and load on the box ultimately reducing scalability and removing transactional integrity. Commit once at the end of the job.
    2. Make sure you specify the list of columns you are inserting into as well as the values or columns you are selecting. This is good practice as it protects your code from compilation issues in the event of new columns being added to tables. Also it makes it very clear what you are inserting where.
    3. If you use WHEN OTHERS THEN... to log something, make sure you either rollback or raise the exception. What you have done in your code is say - I don't care what the problem is, just commit whatever has been done. This is not good practice.

  • Programatically Loading Several Sequences Using LV Simple Operator Interface

I am playing around with the supplied LV(2009) Simple Operator Interface for running TestStand (4.2) and hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.  I know this may be too generic for a concise solution, but hopefully I can get some suggestions on the best approach for this. Here is a short description of what I am trying to accomplish.
I am testing 2 unique UUTs on a single test fixture that is controlled by a PCI-7831R DAQ.  Each UUT will have a unique serial number and report generated.  Therefore, I am using 2 unique sequence files created using TestStand.  Basically, I want to be able to read in a barcode on the test fixture and have the operator interface load the 2 unique sequence files based on information contained in the barcode.  The operator will then hit a button to start the sequence file executions.  I want the first sequence file to run and test the first UUT.  Once the first sequence file is finished, I want the second sequence file to load and run on the second UUT.
I can use the simple operator interface to load both sequence files.  I then have to select the combo box to select which one I want to run.  This works fine, however, I am trying to automate this so that the operator doesn't have to open the files and continually use the combo box to select sequence files.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have figured out a solution (for my initial application at least) of programmatically loading the sequence files.  When the operator interface first starts, there is a prompt where the user will scan a barcode that is loaded on the front of the fixture.  For all of our product lines, we will have a unique format for the fixture barcode.  Included in this barcode is a product specific software ID number.  I create a folder with the same software ID number and store the sequence files there.  I then parse the barcode and open all *.seq files in that folder.  I have this working correctly now.
Once the sequence files are opened, the user must scan each UUT ID barcode before installing them on the fixture.  The intent is to have both UUTs installed on the fixture at the same time so they can be tested serially.  If, however, they do not scan one of the UUTs, it will not be tested.  Basically this is due to the fact that they may want to run only a single board.  Once all of the UUT barcode scanning has been completed, I have another button that will execute the sequence files using the 'Single Pass' execution entry point.  I agree that the 'Single Pass' and 'Test UUTs' points should be hidden from the user.  Once the execute test(s) button is pressed, it will check each UUT barcode to make sure that it is valid.  If both UUT's have valid barcodes, it will run the first UUT and then the second using the 2 sequence files that were previously loaded, otherwise, it will run only one or the other.  The UUT(s) will then be removed and the process starts over again from the UUT ID barcode scanning.  They will not have to scan the fixture barcode again since the correct sequence files have already been loaded.
Currently I have the UUT/Sequence File associations hard-coded in the UI.  I will need to put my thinking cap on so that as we increase the product lines (several are already in the pipeline) we can use the same UI without any modifications.  Scalability is King!

  • Loading Bank Transaction Codes

    Hi guys,
We have about 1500 transaction codes to load... Is there any way to programmatically load these , example an API or script...
Or do we have to use a tool like Dataloader?
    Thnx.

APIS for 11i are listed at http://irep.oracle.com
I do not believe there is an API to load bank transaction codes. You may have to write your own code or use a tool like dataloader

  • Missing DataBase Login information for deployed VS2008 w/Crystal Report

I'm creating a Windows Form application using VS2008 Pro and the basic Crystal Reports (included).</br></br>
I've successfully added a crystalreportviewer control and a crystal report (.rpt) to my form. I've written the following code in the code behind to programmatically load/bind the report to the viewer. Everything works fine on my development machine (or any machine that has Visual Studio installed). Where I'm encountering problems is when I deploy the application to a machine that does not have VS installed (I have downloaded and installed the "Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 Redistributable Package" for the appropriate processor type on this non development machine) that I'm getting an error . It prompts for "DataBase Login". The ServerName, LoginID and Password are all there, but the "DataBase" field is empty and disable for user input.</br></br>
Why is the DataBase information missing? How can I solve this problem?</br></br>
(On a side note, I vaguely remember a property for enabling/disabling the prompting of the database login. I can't remember where this was again to double check if that is the culprit. But I'm pretty sure that I did mark it as to not prompt, since it's supplied in the code behind. Plus it doesn't prompt on the development machines. Only on the non-development machines).</br></br>

    HI. Ludek,
Thanks for the tips. I tried both, but the problem presists.
On a side note, I did get my hands on yet another "non-development machine". This one ran with Window's Vista appeared to work (even with my original code).
The "non-development machines" that I've tested on are Windows 7 and Window XP machines. On these machines, when I commented out the reportDocument.SetDatabaseLogon line, when I try to load the report, it still prompts for the Database Logon information, however, it also has the "Database name" empty and disabled.
Since it worked on a non-development machine with Win Vista. I don't think there is a problem with references or the Crystal runtime packages.
As far as permission for the report to contact the database, I'm guessing there isn't a problem there either because the application does successfully connect to the database.
I'm connecting to a SQL2005 database and using the SQL Native connection.
On a side note: as for the enabling prompting, I just remembered that it was an option available when using Crystal Reports with a web project. Thus I couldn't find it here with a Window's Form project.

  • SAP XI and COM interface

The Import / Export Service has been developed by 3rd Party to allow you to programmatically load information into the 3rd Party Command Centre System. The service can be used to initialise new installations, and to synchronise data in an on-going basis with other applications within your organisation. The Import / Export Service is a licensable feature. Therefore, for this feature to work, your site must have the Import option turned on in their licence file.
The service consists of a Microsoft Component Object Model (COM) Automation interface, and a set of import / export plus data translation scripts. Data is imported into the system using the Extensible Markup Language (XML). While this is the sole format the system uses for data imports, translation scripts are provided to convert from comma or other delimited file formats, to XML.
Data may be loaded into or extracted from the 3rd Party Command Centre System in an on-line real time manner, or in a batch oriented approach. The method that is most appropriate to you will depend on your specific business requirements. The on-line method is appropriate if you require data to be immediately updated in 3rd party Command Centre after being keyed by an operator into one of your existing applications, or where an external application requires immediate access to data held in 3rd Party Command Centre. This method is provided via a COM Automation interface that can be called by any COM compatible programming language, (e.g. VB, Delphi, JScript). The batch approach also uses the Automation interface, but information is passed to or from 3rd Party Command Centre in one or more data files rather than directly through the programming interface. This approach can either be initiated by calling the COM interface directly, or by setting up a scheduled task that looks for, and processes, new files.
My question is can I directly communicate with this COM interface with the existing adapters of SAP XI. I had initially thought of file adapetr to put the XML file in the FTP location from where this COM interface will poll and pick the file but in a real time scenario can we go for this approach. The other option is to publish this COM interface as a webservice but not sure how much rework is required to make this COM Service webservice enabled.
Apart from this can you suggest any other approach which we can work out.
    Thanks in advance
    Ravijeet

    Hi Ravijeet !
You could develop a Java Proxy client that uses the COM objects to extract data and send them directly to XI (http://research.microsoft.com/~chadv/java_com2.htm)
Or you could develop a proxy application in VB or any other tool and do the COM calls and then connect to XI via HTTP, RFC (e.g. SAP .NET Connector) without creating any file in any file system.
    Regards,
    Matias.

  • AccessControlException with third party JCE provider

    Hi,
I have a third party cryptographic provider that I must use.
I can't tell if the provider is failing to load or if actual operations are denied. All I do know is that everytime it tries to actually do anything it fails with (the class that subclasses Provider is called IAIK):
    Caused by: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.security.SecurityPermission putProviderProperty.IAIK)

    at java.security.Provider.put(Provider.java:303)
    at iaik.security.provider.IAIK.a(Unknown Source)
    at iaik.security.provider.IAIK.<init>(Unknown Source)
It seems to me that the provider is trying to programmatically load and register itself. Obviously I have to grant permission to do this, but I don't know how, because I don't know exactly what its trying to do.
I did find something in the JDK docs mentioning doing something like this to the server.policy:
    grant codeBase "file:C:/Sun/AppServer7/domains/domain1/server1/lib/*" {
         permission java.security.SecurityPermission "putProviderProperty.IAIK"
But this not only doesn't work, I also need to understand it.
I've tried using it as a standard extension and it still doesn't work.
    Would appreciate any pointers here
    Thanks

  • RH7 not saving or generating Webhelp

Have been using RH7 since November 2007 and presently have 4
projects active. OS is Windows XP Pro running MS Office 2007.
Approx 1 week ago RH suddenly stopped saving my Word docs and as a
consequence of this, will not allow Webhelp generation.
Looking at other forums I am not the only user encountering
this problem but nobody seems to have a definitive answer. I have
tried all of the suggestions posted as follows:
    - Repair RH7
    - Repair Office 2007
    - Uninstall RH7
    - Re-install RH7
    All to no result
RH7 was installed AFTER Office 2007 (which was one of the
    suggested reasons for the problem)
In short, I am getting desperate

Hi Peter. Thanks for getting back to me. I'll answer your
questions and tell you where I'm at...
I have alerted Adobe to this. Can you run without Live Messenger
for a short while just as a test. Doubt that is it but we need to
    rule out all possibilities.
Tried that (saw the post on anything that might be touching
Word could cause the problem). I actually stopped running every
single thing--sidebar, IE, Outlook, Messenger, Defender, everything
in the task bar. Didn't help.
Does it drop out if you close RH and immediately re-open it?
    Yes.
Do you have any Office 2003 components on your PC? Running or
    not?
Not as far as I can tell. Here's all my MS OS/software stats:
    - Windows Vista Enterprise version 6.0 (Build 6000) patched
to the latest level, including all optional updates from
    Update.Microsoft.com.
    - Office 2007 Enterprise (Word itself is at: Word 2007
    version 12.0.6212.1000 SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000),
    - Windows Live Messenger 2008, version 8.5.1302.1018.
    - Visual SourceSafe 2005 version 8.0.50727.42
    - Visual Studio 2005 version 9.0.21022.8 RTM
    - .NET Framework version 3.5
    - IE 7 version 7.0.6000.16575
    Have you installed Vista SR1?
No, but I do have all the latest patches from the Update
    site.
    Where I am now:
After trying all the things I saw online, to no avail, and
discovering you can't write a macro to programmatically load the
Dll (you can load Wll files...), I uninstalled Robo & Office
completely, and scrubbed the registry by hand, followed by a
shutown/pause to clear all memory. Then, I followed the last bit of
advice I saw, I installed RoboHelp FIRST, then Office 2007.
RoboHelp is CURRENTLY working, though I haven't touched a
single "Word Option" yet and I have a couple of the harder tasks to
    put through the paces.
I do need to turn off/on a few options, such as AutoCorrect
(off), but I will not touch the save/convert/open options this
time. (I had made my standard options settings, but changed them
back when I was troublshooting, to no avail.) I will be switching
an option at a time, in case there is a spurious side effect that
hoses Robo. (If I find such a beastie, I'll be letting you know...
/grin/.) If this goes well, I will be
    stripping/scrubbing/re-installing my co-worker's system this
afternoon with the same procedure and seeing if I can get the same
results. I will let you know. The co-worker did NOT touch any
options, so it's just install order on his machine (he's not
running IE or Messenger while in Robo and still experiencing these
    problems).
I did not expect this to work--it makes little to no sense to
have the install order have such a dramatic effect on the ability
to retain a COM add-in registration. I only tried it out of due
    diligence. Go figure. :)
I'll let you know the results. Let me know if you need any
more specifics to help feed Adobe information.
    Cheers!

  • I need to get the value of a text field that is located in another page JSP

I need to get the value of a text field that is located in another page JSP. How do I do that?

Well you see, I have a page at angelfire.com, which
does not support JSP. I want to call a script located
at mycgisever and then, when pressing a link on the
former page, the JSP page is loaded, and the script
get the value from the text field on the OTHER page.
Is this possible?I know nothing about cgi. But that should not prevent me from understanding what can and cannot be done, assuming cgi is sort of comparable with jsps.
I'm unable to understand your description clearly. Try to explain it better. Give precise steps that you intend to follow and I should be able to help you further.
    So you have a page1.
    You hit submit from page1.
    That goes to the cgiserver.
From the cgiserver, programmatically load up the jsp.
search this for the text field.
    Display it on your page2.
Is that what you are trying to do?
BTW, won't be able to help you with cgi scripting at all. Can help with Java and Jsp.

  • Connect a camera to media player

I have a NI 1764 camera. Is there any way to connect to media player from web builder? Like an webcam.
    Thx
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Adi_,
At this point, the Media control and the Image control can only display videos and images that are hosted on a web server. So streaming video is not possible at this point. You may be able to simulate streaming by using a camera to capture images and save those images to a directory that is hosted by a web server. Then from your Web UI Builder application you could programmatically load the images in order at a desired rate (assuming the naming scheme of the image files are known). Depending on your application, this may or may not suffice.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but your feedback is much appreciated.

  • How to display several axis systems in one sheet

    Hi all,
I want to use diadem script to display 4 axis systems in one sheet (top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right). Each system contains one curve. I have no idea which script command should I use. Would you like to give me some hints? Do I need to use the variable like "D2AxisLeft" ?
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards
    Zhiyao

    Hi Zhiyao,
I would recommend that you manually place 4 axis systems onto your REPORT sheet, in the orientation you prefer, then save this configuration as a *.TDR file, then programmatically load that *.TDR file with the PicLoad() command, followed with the PicUpdate() command.  Ideally you would also configure each of the axis systems with one curve on them that pulls data from the correct group/channel names in the Data Portal, so that loading the *.TDR file will give you exactly the report you want with just those 2 script commands.
Please specify if you need to accomplish more than this programmatically,
