Programming a VI to perform static tests

Dear NI, I am Maria Grazia and I posted a message some days ago but, as you said to me I didn't give much details. Now I want to explain better my research application so I’m going to give more details about my problem. I have to realize some static tests on a steel frame under cyclic loading. By means of an actuator connected to a motor, a force can be applied on the steel frame. An inverter (SSD 650V Series) drives the motor in the required direction (FWD and REV) and controls the motor speed. The motor goes in forward and reverse direction as a result of a relay within the inverter that supplies voltage. A displacement transducer measures the shift caused by the applied force. When it reaches the required shift, the motor stops. Afterwards, the load will be applied in the other sense. I have to realize a VI that drives the inverter which in turn drives the motor connected to the actuator. I would like to know if someone had already realised some similar application and could send it to me in order to understand how Labview works or to have further information about the construction of the VI. I have already the NI hardware required (cDAQ 9172, NI 9476, NI 9263, NI 9205 and NI 9237). Thanks a lot in advance for your help. Maria Grazia

Dear Maria Grazia,
as Centerbolt told you in your previous message, a good solution would be to use the Modbus library, but as I see on the AC650V series specification page, the Modbus Box is optional for these drives; I suspect you don't have one, so the only solution is to program digital and analog inputs and outputs through your DAQ cards in order to drive the inverter.
From what I understood from your description, I think it would not be so difficult to implement it, but I'm afraid you won't find an already developed ready-to-run solution.
I think you would have to acquire a signal from the displacement transducer through an analog input card and process the signal in a loop in order to generate the right outputs for the inverter: in order to understand how the inverter is driven, you should look at its documentation and specification. From the general page of the AC650V drives, they seem to have analog inputs for speed setting and digital inputs for start/stop, for direction and for preset speeds. So you should generate the right digital outputs and, if you want to continuosly change the speed, an analog output.
I can't be more precise, but I encourage you to look at the Getting Started with NI-DAQmx guide and try to implement what I suggested you.

Perform static and dynamic check together on a customer?

Hello All,
Is it possible to perform static and dynamic check together on a customer?
I believe standard SAP does not allow both options together.
The scenario is: My client has customer who orders products 1 year in advance and create sales order with a future delivery date. The customer might have balance due on their account which is close to the credit limit. As a result the sale order should be blocked as if the automatic credit check is "Static". This would allow our customer service to call the customer and arrange for the payments.
Then 11 months later, a dynamic check should be performed on the customer to make sure the past due is under the credit limit. If the past due is over credit limit, the sales order must be blocked for delivery as if the credit check was "Dynamic" with 30 days horizon. This would again give our customer service time to settle the payment with the customer.
If anyone has implemented such a scenario, can you please give me an overview of how you did it?

Static and Dynamic Cannot be Performed together. They are mutually exclusive events.
Credit check can be performed either at Sale order level or at Delivery / PGI Level.
FCV3 is a good report to see whether a customer would fail a credit check. ( suitable for your customer service )
Coming to your Point , Assuming that the customer is eligible for a Credit of 50 Lacs. Now the Customer has placed an order for 60 Lacs. We set the Customer credit checking at order level . The Customers Sale order would get blocked.
The Customer service will follow up for the payment and see to it that it is made. Assume the customer has made a payment for 70 Lacs.
Now let us have a look at the account statement of the customer.
Account Statement : Customer Cr : 70 Lacs. Dr : 0. ( because no delivery and invoice so far has been made )
So we are supposed to deliver the Material worth value of 60 Lacs.
The First sale order worth 60 Lacs has been unblocked in VKM3. Now at the time of Delivery level why would you want to chekc the Credit limit again ? It has already passed the credit check.
It is not necessary to check credit limit . Because you have already performed the same at the order level.
Now the customer has come again and raised another sale order for 80 Lacs. The System would block him.
The system will never block the Previous delivery which you are, due for delivery to the customer.
If we keep on checking the Credits without delivering we would end up only raising in Sale orders and no Delivery to the Customer at all. The Debit side of his account will always be 0.
So i donot think Static and dynamic is needed . you can go for either Static or Dynamic.

8.1.7 부터 RMAN에서 BACKUP command에 VALIDATE keyword를 사용할 수 있게 되었다

- Datafile의 physical and logical corruption을 check한다.
- 모든 database file들이 존재하는지, 그리고 올바른 위치에 있는지를 검증한다.
RMAN은 실제적으로 backupset을 생성하지 않는다 그러나 그것들이 backup될 수
있는지 없는지를 결정하기 위해서 기술된 file들을 scan한다.
BACKUP VALIDATE 는 backup job을 수행시 수행되는 것을 제외하고는
RESTORE VALIDATE와 거의 비슷하다.

I ran the command lines you wrote me after i placed the database in Startup MOUNT state, RMAN gave error messages that the database needs to be open:

Which tool is support Discoverer performance/load testing

Hi,
Any one can tell me which tool is supporting the oracle discoverer for olap 10.1.2.48 performance / load testing.
We are using one of the third party tool called QALOAD. We are unable to trace the discoverer session.
We wanna perform 50 concurrent users peformance test.
is oracle is recommending any tool for performance on the discoverer for olap 10.1.2.48??.
or any one can tell me based on your experience which tool is supporting/best tool to test.

Apple Hardware Test (Perform Extended Testing)

Hit the 'E' key to select Perform Extended Testing if you are unable to select it with a mouse.
I've been working on my wife's new iMac (I7 27") that she purchased a few months ago. Because it is so new, I wouldn't even waste my time on it and just sent it back to Apple to have them look at it (currently suffering slow startup times), however we recently moved overseas to Kyiv, Ukraine. During the troubleshooting, I found the following site:

which informs users how to use Apple's Hardware test. Unfortunately, the app only recognized the wireless keyboard and not the wireless mouse. I didn't know who to contact to have the webpage updated because there is a way you can enable the extended hardware test from the keyboard (by hitting the 'E' key). Unfortunately, I had to figure this out on my own after exhaustive searching on the internet and websites. Hopefully, someone can pass this information along. I wish the app was more keyboard friendly.
I see some other posts that I haven't tried yet, so hopefully they might resolve me issue.
If I can't fix the problem, I'm going to have to see if there may be a rep in this country who to replace/fix the unit.

Yesterday I ran the Apple Hardware test ( Version 3A181 - Perform Extended Testing ) from my MacBook OS Install DVD and Everything passed 100% ( entire test took 57 minutes and 15 seconds )
Forgot to mention after the Apple Hardware test was finished No Problems Were Found...
This isn't making any sense to me - Any Suggestions to what the cause of these Safe Boots may be ?

BT Performance Ping Test speed way out.

Anyone know why the BT Performance ping test is way out compared to other test tools?
When I run the performance test, BT's ping test returns 'speeds' of over 100ms (yes, that'sone hundred ms). Yet if I perform similar tests under the same conditions ie literally seconds later, using different tools such as Speedtest.net, Im getting pings of 20 - 32ms. Go back to BT Performance test and ping is still in the range of 100ms.
Ive even done ping tests using servers nearly 150 miles from home and even they return pings of less than 30ms!
Why the massive difference? Why is BT's ping taking on average 100ms. Do they use a London server or something?

i found that if there is any software in the
computer whoes extension is same as the sapsid then all the datafiles in the cofiles
folder will be saved with the same extension.
Example :
if my sapsid is TST and there is a software whoes files saved with the same extension
then the my transport requested will be saved
as that particular software file with the
same ICON.
This should not cause any issues.

AFAB program strange performance in TEST mode

Hi colleagues,
We are experiencing a strange performance in AFAB program.
We have uploaded several assets in a particular company code. When executing AFAB transaction in TEST mode, the new assets are not considered, whereas, when performing a REAL execution yes they are.
We think that when reconciliating assets at the end of the year, this issue which is not harmful (but strange indeed) may be solved, but we are not sure at all.
Can anybody provide a clue on what is happening.

Hi When you run this report online in test it will only show +/- the first 1.000 assets and the new asset are later in the data base and you don't see them.
You have to run it in test mode in back ground and look in the spool to the result (default the spool shows arround 20 page's but this you can change or go to the next 20 pages)

I never did something like that. I guess that depending on the layout type of the view this code will need some changes (e.g matrix layout). I tried a simple test with flow layout and worked fine here.

Sluggish performance- hardware test?

How can I run a Hardware/performance test on my Mac pro 2008(early).
2X3 GHz Quad-Core Xeon.
I am getting very sluggish performance from Motion and Avid programs.
Honestly I saw very little performance increase compared to my old Quad PPC.
I installed 16 gigs RAM from OWC.
ATI Radeon HD 4870 and a eSATA video RAID.
By all accounts this machine should be cooking- but it doesn't.
I ran DW on the Boot drive- but I still have issues.
I have read so much praise for the 2008's as great machines- so I just don't understand why I get so many hang ups.

Clone your drive (SuperDuper) so you have an exact backup image.
Question: did you migrate your apps from G5? It sounds like you did.
The nice thing about SuperDuper is it skips all the clutter (cache, temp, logs etc) and optimizes folder and free space.
Are you using drives from G5 that have not been reformatted?
I'm sure there are other things to look for under the hood.

What's confusing is your statement that you want to do this "without display the test stand program". You can minimize the TestStand UI to the task bar but if you don't want TestStand to be running, how can TestStand evaluate the result. Explain a little more please.
In the message body of your post, you just say you want to create a LabVIEW exe and pass the results to TestStand. What I would recomend is that instead of an exe, you create a dll and use TestStand's DLL adapter to call it and return the results. TestStand will evaluate it and do the logging.
