ProMan
Hi!
I created Reservations and Purchase Requisitions through Easy Cost Planning using the Project Builder Tranx (CJ20N).
However these are not appearing when i run the ProMan (CNMM) Tranx.
I checked the ProMan Profile & Exceptions. It looks fine. What might have gone wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Unable to create a Purcahse order from Proman-System is hanging
Hi All,
I am unable to create a Purcahse order from Purcahse Requisition from Proman.
When iam executing the Function, convert Purchase Requisition to PO, after giving the required inputs like Vendor,Purcahse Org,Pur Group, Company, system giving the information that, Purcahse order is created with number and ask to proceed further.
When i click, system is hanging and unable to proceed further and when i check the PO, There is no data available in the PO's/
Regards,
N.RajuHi Nitin,
Iam getting the PO Number is generated information with Number. But that number is not available in the system.
Any clue for this.

Hi Gurus
Im trying to create a purchase order for a component using CNMM but i get the error message : ME648 Tax code V0 in schema TAXUSX invalid.
If i convert the purchase requisition from ME21N everything works fine
Any ideas what could be missing?
I saw an closed but unanswered thread
thanks in advanceHello José,
The BAPI_PO_CREATE function called from PROMAN(CNMM) does not perform
tax code determination to fill the tax code field on the po item.
It assumes that the incoming structure should have it already. This is a
limitation from PROMAN.
Therefore by default V0 is set as the Tax Code. If you want to derive
the Tax Code automatically from Pricing Conditions or Purchasing Info
Record then you can clear the default Tax Code V0 from the Purchase
order items.
Please implement the Function Module EXIT_SAPLMEWP_002 in the
Enhancement SAPLMEWP as below:
FIELD-SYMBOLS: -tax_code.
endloop.
Please check if the Tax Coe of Purchase order items are being derived
correctly then.
Best Regards,

Delivery note cannot be done through PROMAN
Guys,
User made mistake by using CN25 instead of CNMM, when wanted to issue material xxx on project xxxx, he clicked on « Post Goods Issue ».
To cancel the good issue, transaction CN29 was used.
A New CN25 on material. It is available in unrestricted stock but not linked with project xxxx, so DN cannot be done in transaction CNMM.
So using Transfer Posting mb1b transaction, transfer was done to wbs element using 415 movement type.
but the material is visible in project stock but not shown in proman.
Thanks.User used CN25 for Goods movements. and CN29 to cancel the movements.
Transfer of material was done using mb1b transaction with 415 movement type, to move material from unretricted stock to project stock
material is visible against the wbs element but not in proman
Using proman for creating delivery note for component, it says "No data was selected with the selection criteria entered." -
Hello friends,
Can anybody provide guidance on following :
In project scenario, I am procuring non stock materials through network and activities with item category "N" . I want to ensure that
Billing qty is always less than equal to my GRN qty.
Cumulative billing qty is always less than equal to cumulative GR qty.
Material used in sale order and in network for procurement will be same.
Is there any way to by which I can configure ProMan profile to display GR Qty ( from PO) and Billed Qty ( from Sale order) in ProMan screen ?
Thanks & best regards

Hi all
In our project we are creating mulitalbe pr through network activity for same material, i had checked One collective purchase requisition per order , still system is creating many pr
we need to create only one po for all the pr please explain the process how to do it
Regards
RajHello Raj,
Collective PR per order will create one PR number but the line itemm number will be different though you have attached the same material to different activities of the same Network.
Regarding grouping of PR to one PO, while creating PO provide the refernace of PR numbers which you want to group in that PO, but though the PO number will be same, each PR referance will genarate a different line item number.
For EX:
If you have attached 110 bags of cement to Activity 1 and 30 bags of cements to Activity 2 of the same Network,Collective Purchase requisition indicator will generate a PR number like 10014284, but it will have two line items.
line item 10--> 110 bags of cement
line item 20--> 30 bags of cement
In PO, you may refer this PR number, it will identify each line item of PR as individual line item of PO.
If your requirement is to generate a single PO of 140 bags, then that may not be possible with collective requisition indicator.
You have the concept of Group to purchase requisition In ProMan, even that will behave in the same fashion as mentioned above.

Servlets in Jar files in WLS 6.1 ?
Trying to port a WLS 5.1 servlet into 6.1 (an entirely different
animal it appears)
I have added an application to my config.xml file as below as well as
trying to start it
PasswordPolicy="wl_default_password_policy"
Realm="wl_default_realm"/>
<Application Deployed="true" Name="DefaultWebApp_cb2java"
Path=".\config\PM\applications">
<WebAppComponent Name="DefaultWebApp_cb2java"
Targets="PCPNEARN"
URI="DefaultWebApp_cb2java" WebServers="PCPNEARN"/>
</Application>
<StartupClass Arguments="servlet=ProMan"
ClassName="weblogic.servlet.utils.ServletStartup"
FailureIsFatal="true" Name="StartPMServlet1"
Targets="PCPNEARN"/>
Now my servlet is packaged in a JAR file under the lib directory of so
when I assume that WLS will automatically pick this up from
C:\Weblogic6.1\wlserver6.1\config\PM\applications\DefaultWebApp_cb2java\WEB-INF\lib
directory ? ( as the lib directory is where the doc says it picks up
jar files from )
Now when I start WLS it cant find the servlet? Is that because I cant
package it in a JAR as of WLS 6.1 and have to move the class files to
the Classes directory instead ?
Furthermore the Servlet itself references JavaBeans deployed in a
totally different application. Can I also assume that if I have my
Classpath correct these will get picked up ?
I would look here
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/webapp/security.html#100365 for methods on
protecting web app resources.

Document details for Project & WBS
Hi,
Is there any standard report available which shows all the document nos. for the project or wbc, like inquiry no., quotation no.
Thank you,
PrashantYou may try to check the ProMan - CNMM. I couldn't test it due to missing authorization, but I remember from my previous assignment that it was showing all purchasing documents per project.

Enter an input tax code, not an output tax code in Txn CNMM
Hi All,
We are trying to use PROMAN transaction CNMM from Project systems for converting PR to PO. But when I try to do that I get the following error
"Enter an input tax code, not an output tax code"
So it seems that the system is picking the incorrect sales tax code in PO because of which the PR is not converted to PO then. But when I check in transaction CNMM there is no place to input a tax code anywhere. So the system is probably picking it from somewhere, but I am not able to figure out where is it picking it from.
Does someone have an idea about where the system is picking the tax code?
Regards,
V SHi,
Can you do one thing in your testing server....
Create purchase requisition manually for that material and with respect to that requisition try to create PO without putting any tax code, and see whether you are able to create PO, keep the same document types at PR and PO level, (it should be the same when you create PO thru CNMM)

Hi All,
I am BW consultant.Interested in PLM .Could you please tell about PLM and if I want learn PLM what shall i do? This module comes under functional or technical?
Thanks,
RakeshHi Rakesh,
There are different tracktion for PLM in SAP
1. <b>Product Data Management</b>
which covers Material Management, Bill of Material, Document Managment System, Classification System, Variant Configurations, CAD Interfaces. etc.
Most of the Industries will be using these cross application components for their Engineering Departments.
2. <b>Program Management</b>
Where Entire Program is capture i.e. From Customer Enquirry to the Order execution and till Dispatch.
Here again Project System, CFolder, CProjects, DMS, MM, BOM, Workflow etc can be a part of the PLM
3. <b>Asset LifeCylce Management</b>
This is used in different Scenarios where companies wants to trace there assets
or lifecycle of their assets.
Project Systems and DMS will be mostly involved.
4.<b> Quality Managment</b>
Strictly Speaking PLM Products are used in R& D Department, Engineering Department, Design & Drafting Departments of the Companies/organizations,
Where they try to modify their existing Products, try to Design as per the customer requirements, Try to launch new Product by doing R & D works.
PLM is Mostly used in these Departments of the Organizations

Hi Guys
I am have working on PDM(Team center), VPM(Enovia DPM) and Catia V5 since 2 years now and I am planning to change to SAP PLM. Can any one help me Do i need to Have knowledge in any other things other then PDM, VPM to start up with SAP PLM.
If I want to take p my certification in SAP PLM where can i get it,( Do i need to contact Siemens for it or i can try with some other place)
Your help will be Appreciated
PradeepHi Pradeep,
1.As you have worked in PDM (Team Center), and other CAD packages, you will be knowing the Functional processes/activities involved in the PLM which is very much required to learn and give solutions in SAP PLM.
2. As you must have worked with BOM, Documents, workflows, Organizational hierarchies, Roles & Responsibilities (Draftsmen, Junior/Assist Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Manager etc etc) and their authorizations.
3. So with these things it is very easy to learn & work with SAP PLM, if you are currently working in non-sap or any functional domain, you can join any SAP implementation company as a Trainee or Fresher and get trained on SAP
or there are many training institutes which train SAP even for 25-30K without certification. (You will get a fare idea about what SAP is )
Even SAP PLM starts with PDM Objects like, Material Master, Document Managment System, Engineering Change Managment (Versioning/Revisioning for BOM, MM, DIR), Bill of Materials, Classification System (Classes, Characteristics, Object Dependencies etc) all this are PDM Objects in SAP.
And there is Collaboration Projects, Collabortion Folders and CAD Integrations. etc these all together constitutes a SAP PLM
For Certification on SAP PLM below mentioned are details. and follow the link as well

hi Gurus
Can u tell me integration point of MM module with Project Module
By which Mvt Type we transfer Unrestricted stock to project stock & Unrestricted to Sales order stock
Thanks
Rochi,
Component documentation Project-Oriented Procurement (ProMan) Locate the document in its SAP Library structure
The Project System is one of the most integrated components in the SAP System. One area in which this is noticeable is in the internal and external procurement of materials and services. If an object is created in the Project System, documents are created in other applications.
Example
If you create a material component for a network activity, the system creates a reservation for the network or the WBS element in Materials Management. Depending on how the material is to be procured, this can lead to a purchasing requisition in Purchasing, or a planned order and then a production order in Production Planning and Control.
These documents are processed in the corresponding department. Previously this meant that the project management team only had restricted access to information that was relevant to the project, although the project triggered the document flow.
ProMan solves this problem by:
Consolidating information from the procurement process from a variety of applications in a structured and individual overview that can be configured by the user.
Enabling you to process all information from the procurement process about objects in the Project System, and execute individual procurement functions.
Giving you access to data from the Project System, Purchasing, Material Requirements Planning, Production, and Inventory Management. All objects and documents in the Project System are taken into account u2013 both planned, and unplanned objects, and documents you have created manually.
Integration
ProMan is integrated with the following SAP components:
Materials Management
Purchasing
Production Planning and Control
Features
ProMan consists of an initial selection screen where you choose the project, and a main screen displaying the project hierarchy on the left, and different overview screens on the right, which are displayed as tab pages. The available overviews in ProMan are:
Components
Activities and elements
Quantities
Dates
Objects and documents
Stock
Deliveries
ProMan displays the following orders or documents on the overviews:
Purchase requisition
Request for quotation/bid (quotation)
Purchase order item, scheduling line, confirmation, purchase order history
Reservation
Planned order
Production order
Plant maintenance order
Material document
Delivery from project
The objects in the project hierarchy for which you can display data on the overview screens are:
WBS element
Network
Activity
Activity element
Component
The object that you select in the project hierarchy and the settings you have made in Customizing for the Project System under Material ® Project-Oriented Procurement ® Define Profile determine which overview screens are displayed.
Note
In ProMan you can see documents that have been manually assigned to an object (WBS element, network, network activity, or sales order item). Such a document could be, for example, a purchase requisition, a planned order, or a production order. This is one of the few transactions in the system where you can see such information from the project-object view.
ProMan functions can be carried out for objects in the project hierarchy and objects on the overview screens. These functions can be carried out using the context menu, the toolbars or the main menu.
Constraints
For a component or document to be displayed in ProMan it must be assigned to a project object, in general a WBS element or a network activity. For instance, you cannot track dependent requirements that are managed in plant stock, since they have no direct connection with the network. However you can see such materials in the order progress report, which you can call up from ProMan.

Dear All,
To plot my data I have tried two different methods: 1) one point at a time using PlotStripChartPoint(..) on a StripChart; 2) 10 points at a time by creating first a waveform and then plotting it using PlotStripChart(..) on a StripChart. I tried to plot my data inside a while_loop that must last 1 msec. Both plotting methods created problems because they delayed the while_loop.
I wonder whether anybody can suggest me a better (faster) way for plotting my data.
Thank you very much for your help.
promanHi Proman,
I am afraid that you are way too optimistic: a refresh rate of 1000 plots per second seems too fast for me, whatever method you choose. Do you really need to refresh your graph every one millisecond? Or do you need to capture a data point every millisecond? Even the latter may not be guaranteed on regular Windows systems (no real time OS). One possibility to improve things might be to consider two threads, one responsible for data capture, and one for display. There is (at least) one example in the CVI distribution that might be of interest, BuffNodataLoss.

break this down into parts, doing one part at a time. So this is a
multi part question) I want to take the Project page and have the
Category Name be the order by for the page, wich means I need an
innerjoin. I am kind of at a loss how I would write that and still
be able to edit the record without the innerjoin getting in the
way. (This will also be used on the Category page as a nav link to
edit all the projects with the corresponding category and that will
be the only projects that will appear is the ones assigned to that
category.
But first I need just to ORDER BY Categories.Name in my
Querry so that if you just choose to go to this page and view /
edit all categories you can.
Here is my code so far. I need to have the Project manager
page organize all the projects by Category.Name
<cfquery name="proMan" datasource="#sitedatasource#"
username="#siteUserID#" password="#sitePassword#">
SELECT Projects.Name AS PName, Projects.CategoryID,
Projects.ProjectID AS ID
Categories.Name AS CName, Categories.CategoryID
INNERJOIN Projects ON Categories
FROM Projects, Categories
</cfquery>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<cfoutput query="proMan">
Project Name: #PName#
Project category: #CName#
<form action="Project-Action.cfm" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="ID" value="#ID#">
<input type="submit" name="proj_Edit" value=" Edit ">
<input type="submit" name="proj_Delete" value="Delete">
</form>
</cfoutput>
I know this is wrong, so How do I make it work?
(Then I will go into the next phase of the question about
being able to go from teh Category Manager page to edit the
projects just associated to the respective category, unless it is
easier to do that part now. Then I will post the code from the
Categories page so we can do an innerjoin there and make a link to
edit projects in that category.)
Thank you. I know this is conveluted, but it is a big section
and a lot of little odds and ends to tie in.

</body>Wow. can't believe I missed that..
Ok, now for phase 2 of this.
I need the category-manager page to have a link on it. the
way it is set up is this:
The Category page has and edit category button, and delete
category button. I need to add an edit projects for this category
link. This will link to the Project-manager page we just fixed up
the innerjoin page.
This is my code for teh Category-manager page:
<cfquery name="catMan" datasource="#sitedatasource#"
username="#siteUserID#" password="#sitePassword#">
SELECT Categories.Name AS ViewField1, Categories.CategoryID
AS ID, Projects.ProjectID
FROM Categories INNER JOIN Projects ON Categories.CategoryID
= Projects.CategoryID
</cfquery>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<cfoutput query="catMan">
#ViewField1#
<a href="projectCat-edit.cfm?CategoryID=#ID#"
class="navA">Edit Category</a>
<a href="project-edit.cfm?ID=#ProjectID#"
class="navA">Edit Projects</a>
<form action="ProjectCat-Action.cfm" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="ID" value="#ID#"><input
type="submit" name="proj_Delete" class="formButtons"
onMouseOver="this.style.backgroundColor='##0099CC'"
onMouseOut="this.style.backgroundColor='##00659A'"
value="Delete"></form>
</cfoutput>
</body>
What do I need to do on the Projects-manager page to make
just the projects attached to selected category appear using the
code posted that was just made with teh innerjoin?
<cfquery name="proMan" datasource="#sitedatasource#"
username="#siteUserID#" password="#sitePassword#">
SELECT Projects.Name AS PName, Projects.CategoryID,
Projects.ProjectID AS ID,
Categories.Name AS CName, Categories.CategoryID
FROM Projects INNER JOIN Categories ON projects.CategoryID =
Categories.CategoryID
ORDER BY Categories.Name
</cfquery>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<cfoutput query="proMan">
Project Name: #PName#
Project category: #CName#
<form action="Project-Action.cfm" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="ID" value="#ID#">
<input type="submit" name="proj_Edit" value=" Edit ">
<input type="submit" name="proj_Delete" value="Delete">
</form>
</cfoutput>
</body>
Thanks for all the help. I am not sure my category code is
correct, including the link to edit the projects.
