Prompts in Pre-built reports

Does anybody know how the pre-built reports are made in regards to prompting?
e.g. the top-10-oppty report:
At top you have a dashboard prompt and underneath the report, which gets filtered by the values of the prompt.
This analysis looks like a dashboard page but shows up under tab Reports.
Any idea?
Thx
Martin

Hi Martin,
This is something that Oracle have done which cannot be replicated when building custom reports. You'll need to create a dashboard page and add your report and prompt to it to replicate this behaviour.
Thanks

  • Prompts in Reports similar to Pre-built reports??

    Hi All,
    There is a pre-built report called 'Top 10 opportunities' in 'Pipeline Analysis'. When we execute the report, it shows the prompts at the top (Fiscal Quarter, Fiscal year, Region). And depending upon the value user selects in these prompts the report data changes
    I copied this report in different folder and tried to execute it through there. But then it don't give this prompts as in pre-built reports. Do you know how to connect these kind of prompts to the reports??
    I tried to create a Dashboard prompt and link it to the report. But then it only works if I execute it through dashboard and if tried to execute the report from Report Tab then it does not show this prompts.
    Please let me know if you have any input/suggestion on this
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi All,
    I don’t think pre built reports are designed using narrative reports. I think these are designed by using dashboard prompts. We could do the same and design a dashboard page with prompt on top but it will not work in direct report.
    The alternate to do the similar prompts in report is by using the pivot table view (but pivot view will work if you have at least one matrix field). So in pivot view you can define the prompts on top and filter the report by that. But the disadvantage of pivot prompts compare to dashboard prompts is, these will be slow.
    Try out by pivot view. Hope should help

  • CRM On Demand pre Built reports

    Hi
    Does anyone have a list of the fields and formulas used in the Siebel On Demand Sales pre built reports?
    Thank you

    As per my knowledge there is no full documentation available. But if you have enough time you can find this yourself.
    Open the report in design mode, you will be able to open it, but not able to make changes and save (you can save as different name in different folder). you will get the all required details

    Select auditing_db_mySql.biar.file of the uinverse and import using Import Wizard.

  • Editing Pre-built quick list report - access denied?

    I tried to edit a pre-build quick list report but I get an access denied error when trying to save it?
    Can someone confirm if this is by design?
    I just want to remove a column but I don't really want to have to create a copy of the report, then update the analysis that navigates to this report so it points to my new version. Also it will mean the Original version is still available via the reports tab which i would not want to avoid confusion.
    Cheers

    You cannot edit the Pre-Built reports, you have to open them and resave them to edit them.

    HOW TO VIEW DATA IN PRE-BUILT ANALYTICS DASHBOARDS AND REPORTS

  • How to create reports with the prompts like the pre-defined reports ?

    We are analyzing pre-defined report: Historical Pipeline Analysis. When executed we can see the prompts for Pipeline Fiscal Quarter and Pipeline Fiscal Year.
    If we open this analysis I cannot see how this prompt have been built.
    If I save this pre-defined report (without any change) to My Folders and execute it from here, the prompts are gone.
    I´d appreciate any help.

    I have the same issue. The prebuilt reports are actually dashboards, which is why the dashboard prompt filters show up.
    I'm not sure how they get it to be a link like that on the reports tab (since the link doesn't point to a dashboard URL ).
    Any idea how to get this same effect assuming I built the dashboard/prompt around updated report?

  • Pre-Built EBS Analytics with BAM and EBS adapters on FM

    Are there any pre-built business analytics dashboards/ reports installable in BAM SOA 11g for Oracle EBS 11.5.10?
    If so, where do I download and what other components are required to publish these?
    Thanks
    Edited by: user6739500 on May 21, 2010 3:08 PM

    Hi there
    I have a Technote that shows how the information can be published from EBS to BAM. In addition you could create an end to end visibility across the products e.g. B2B - BPEL - EBS - Financials etc by raising the events to BAM .
    There is no out of the box dashboards available today. However, i have a number of customers who are doing this use case by themselves or through some SI/Oracle consulting.
    can we contact you offline to discuss your requirement?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/11g/technotes11g/whitepaperBAM_E-BusinessSuiteIntegration.pdf
    There are certified adapters available for EBS to FM as well.

  • Importing Stored procedures into pre-made report

    <p>Hello all,</p><p>i&#39;v got some trouble with some pre-made reports that we wish to start using with embedded java engine.</p><p>Reports are stored procedure based and the built-in connection is ODBC.</p><p>What I&#39;d like to do is to change the datasource to JDBC datasource and run all queryes through there. Is is possible with CR4E ? </p><p> </p><p>Best regards,</p><p>Henrix</p>

    Hi Henrix,
    This is possible, however there is a known issue with the Database Explorer that ships with CR4E in that Stored Procs are not displayed. You can check out the following forum thread if you want more information on this specific issue:
    *http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/520*
    This issue generally affects creating new reports against Stored Procedures, but it will affect you as well as it will prevent you from using the UI to switch from one database driver to another, Primarily because the Stored Procs won't be displayed in the destination table that you wish to switch to.
    To get around this we will need to create a simple java routine to switch the tables via code. The attached code below will go through all of the tables in the main report and the subreport and assign the new JDBC connection information:
    package com.businessobjects.samples;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.OpenReportOptions;
    import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument;

    Â Â Â Â Â Â
    Â Â Â Â Â Â //save the report with the changes
    Â Â Â Â Â Â clientDoc.save();
    Â Â Â
    Â Â Â }
    Â Â Â
    Â This code is pretty generic, however you can modify it to be specific for each report if necessary.

  • Adding OSB to Pre-built SOA OSB BPM (PS5) VM - WC_Spaces template

    Hi,
    I have downloaded and setup the pre-built developer VM for SOA/OSB/BPM using the Webcenter Spaces template. Everything works fine, I am just trying to add OSB to extend the existing domain but getting stuck at the wizard where it asks for the OSB JMS Reporting Provider JDBC connection properties. The steps to get there are as follows:
    Extend SOA domain
    * Start Configuration Wizard:
    cd /opt/oracle/Middleware/home_11gr1/Oracle_OSB1/common/bin
    ./config.sh
    * Select Extend an existing WebLogic domain, click Next
    * On Select a WebLogic Domain Directory screen, select soa_domain
    * On Select Extension Source screen,
    - Select: Oracle Service Bus [Oracle_OSB1]
    - Select: Oracle Service Bus OWSM Extenstion [Oracle_OSB1]
    - WebLogic Advanced Web Services for JAX-RPC Extension [wlserver_10.3] option is also automatically selected.
    - Click Next
    * On Configure JDBC Data Sources screen, select soademoDatabase which was created at SOA Suite install. Click Next.
    * Test JDBC Data Sources, click Next when successful
    * On Configure JDBC Component Schema, select the checkbox for OSB JMS Reporting Provider and enter
    - Vendor: Oracle
    - Driver: *Oracle's Driver (Thin) for Service connections; Versions:9.0.1 and later
    - Schema Owner: DEV_SOAINFRA
    - Schema Password: welcome1
    - DBMS/Service: orcl.world
    - Host Name: localhost
    - Port: 1521
    - Click Next ======> Can't get past here since OSB JMS Reporting Provider database cannot be found!!
    Wondering if there is a way to use the initial setup script to add OSB JMS Reporting Provider DB? I also couldn't find RCU Home so that I could add the OSB JMS Reporting Provider DB to the XE Instance. Any help is much appreciated..
    Thanks

    * On Configure JDBC Data Sources screen, select soademoDatabase which was created at SOA Suite install. Click Next.You may skip this step by not selecting anything. Later on when you need to work with Reporting, you may create a data-source and tables manually.
    And at the next startup of the Admin Server it complains about the JDBC connection not available and fails to initialize it.To avoid this problem, you may follow below steps -
    1. Navigate to directory $Domain_Home/config
    2. Search for string "wlsbjmsrpDataSource" in file config.xml
    3. You will find an entry like below -
    <jdbc-system-resource>
    <name>wlsbjmsrpDataSource</name>
    <target>AdminServer</target>
    <descriptor-file-name>jdbc/wlsbjmsrpDataSource-jdbc.xml</descriptor-file-name>
    </jdbc-system-resource>
    Replace the above entry with below -
    <jdbc-system-resource>
    <name>wlsbjmsrpDataSource</name>
    <target></target>
    <descriptor-file-name>jdbc/wlsbjmsrpDataSource-jdbc.xml</descriptor-file-name>
    </jdbc-system-resource>
    Basically you need to remove the targeting of this DS. Once done, save the config.xml and try to start your admin server now.
    When (in future) you want to use Reporting feature of OSB, just provide the details of DB in the connection pool of datasource "wlsbjmsrpDataSource" and target it to the OSB servers and you will be good to go.
