  • Automatic generation of Proxies and RFC Adapters after change

After a maintenance on the server, or new transports on the xi, uploading new RFC function modules often the Proxies and RFC Adapters have to be restarted.
If you are not aware of that kind of changes the messages arrive in the wrong format, funny things happen and so on...
Question: Is it possible to scedule a job on the xi which automatically generates all proxies and adapters new in order to minimize message/service errors after uploads and changes?

Did you run program RIMODGEN in SE38 with appropriate variant to generate new integration models ? The spro settings or CFC9 have nothing to do with generation of new integration models. try to do some forum search on Integration Models and you may get some clue.

  • Problem in creation of ABAP proxies

    Hi,
I am trying to create proxies of Message Interfaces that are built from External Definitions(XSDs). In the scenario, we use two XSDs, one for structure of BAPI and one as Document Envelope containing header level information of the document. Message Interface is created for Document Envelope and internally it references XSD of structure of BAPI.
For e.g. For request message of BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL, we have two XSDs:
    1. BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL
    2. BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL_Document_Envelope
I create interface for document envelope; interface internally references XSD BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL.
When I try to create proxy for such an Interface I get following error:
Cannot generate proxy (object <element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST"> missing in WSDL, see long text)
    Message no. SPRX084
and diagnosis provided in long text is as follows:
    Diagnosis
In the WSDL document, the object
       "<element name="Documents"> <complex/simpleType ..."
    from the namespace
      "http://mindef.nl/schemas/DocumentEnvelope"
    links to the object
       "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">"
    from the namespace
       "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions"
However, this last object does not exist in the WSDL document.
    System Response
ABAP proxy generation expects that all directly and indirectly referenced objects are in the WSDL document. Therefore, no proxy can be generated for this WSDL and the system displays an error message.
    Procedure
This situation can have different causes:
Object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">" not been defined
Object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">" saved in the wrong namespace
In the reference to object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">", the wrong name was specified
In the reference to object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">", the wrong namespace "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions" was specified
Internal error in the service that constructs the WSDL document
Internal error in ABAP proxy generation
I have checked all the possibilities, there is no inconsistency in WSDL.
Kindly provide some suggestions to tackle this problem.
    regards,
    Bhavish Bhatia

    Hi Bhatia,
You cannot create ABAP proxies from external definitions, IDOC or BAPI, when your application system is based on 6.20.
This works only, when your application system is based on 6.40 or higher.

    Udo

  • Rendering of Proxies in AE fails with generic error messages.

*sigh* working with AVC in CS4 on my quad core has been an exercise in pain.
I've followed the optimization guides linked to in the different forum posts and that lets me zip along until I actually start adding effects. Then I am right back to a crawl. I recently discovered proxies in AE and learned that I can use "replace" in premeire to leverage those same proxies... Sweet... When I works I am back to editing in both in real time!
The problem is AE is regularly failing to generate proxies for me and I cannot figure out why. All my video is shot the same 24mbps, 60fps, 1080p (true 60i). All shot from my Canon HF S10.
The error is always "Error reading frame from file" and it always occurs just before the render is about to complete. Sometimes I get lucky and a working .mov was generated in spite of the error. Bu most times the file isn't there.
So my 2.4ghz quad core with 8gb ram can't edit the originals and I can't create proxies... I'm effectively dead in the water.
I tried using Media Encoder to generate my proxies with no success either. It fails with "Unspecified Error".
Both times I am trying to encode to Quicktime, Jpeg, Draft Settings. For the heck of it I tried different codecs, etc. Nothing seems to help. Even worse is sometimes if I just queue the same file multiple times it eventually works.
Is there anything at all I can do to make successful proxy generation less like winning the lottery?

Yeah I updated to that right away. Premiere itself seems to behave most of the time. To be honest I've hardly had any problems with Premiere even before the 4.2 update.
But AVC (mts files) seem to be very problematic in AE in general. I also experience the issue mentioned here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2404464
Sounds like re-encoding to another format is the only way I'll be able to work in AE reliably. So I have to figure out a way to get Media Encoder to finish it's jobs.

  • Java Proxies in PI 7.1 SP7

    Hi,
we are trying to work with java proxies, (we are using PI 7.1 SP7)
while generating the proxies using Tools->Java Proxy Generation, below message gets displayed:
There are two versions of Java proxy generation that differ in the programming model:
    1. The Java proxy generation in the ES Builder that will not be supported in later releases. It is only to be used for small adjustments of service interfaces in the ES Repository that were created because of the automatic migration of message interfaces of an Integration Repository (XI 3.0 or SAP NetWeaver 7.0) in the ES Repository. The Java proxes created with this proxy generation support the same programming model as in XI 3.0 and SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
    2. The Java proxy generation in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio that you use for new developments or for larger adaptation sof already existing service itnerfaces. The Java proxies created using this proxy generation introduce a new programming model.
what is the meaning of this message?
is it not recommended to create java proxies in PI 7.1 using ESR->Tools->"Java proxy generation". is there any different procedure for  pi 7.1 java proxies.
    thanks,
    Madhu.

    > what is the meaning of this message?

Yes. That is correct. You should use the Java Proxy Generation inside ESR only for updates of migrated PI 7.0 Java Proxies.
For new development use the Java Proxy generation of the NWDS. This will create EJB 3.0 proxies which are incompatible to PI 7.0 Java proxies. Java proxies created inside NWDS can run on any SAP Java system 7.1, an adapter engine is not required.

  • Java proxies in PI 7.1 - Requesting ACKs

I've just found this [guide|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/events?rid=/library/uuid/40a0868a-9d40-2b10-8cb4-8e0c53b56655&overridelayout=true] in SDN with these quotes:
    - New Proxies have to be created in NetWeaver Developer Studio
    - Some JPR 3.0 classes are not available for JEE 5-based proxies, for example
    com.sap.aii.proxy.xiruntiume.core.MessageSpecifier
    - XI 3.0 proxy-specific features (like acknowledgements) cannot be used
So it seems that the new Java proxies do not allow acknowledgements.

  • When and Where and how to use Proxies

    hi
New to Xi Can anyone explain When and Where and how to use Proxies
    Mohit

Proxies: are interfaces which will get executed in the application system. They can be created only in the system from message interfaces using the proxy generation functions.
The biggest advantage of the proxy is that it always by passes the Adapter Engine and will directly interact with the application system and Integration engine - so it will and should give us a better performance.
The literal definition of a proxy is an object / process authorized to act for another; an agent or a substitute. In simpler terms, proxies in the XI context are objects used to encapsulate the creation (from a sender system) or parsing of XML (at a receiver system) as well as the communication with the relevant runtime components required to send or receive those messages. The Proxy Runtime controls these objects / processes, and can itself be controlled by the applications it communicates with.
The Proxy currently has the following components available:
    1. ABAP Proxy – Communication using XI or Web Services
    2. Java Proxy– Communication using XI (J2EE)

Proxies communicate with the XI server by means of native SOAP calls over HTTP .RFC does not, so you have to convert from SOAP to RFC calls and vice versa. So XML conversion is required.
ABAP Proxies uses Webservice and Http Protocols. And if you use RFC it is mainly meant for Sync. call. But Proxies is used for both Sync and Async.
If you use ABAP Proxy , you can reduce the overhead calling the function again and again.

    Re: JDBC Sender select/update problem
If u generate proxy for outbound interface then its client proxy and for inbound interface its server proxy.
In client proxy u can call the method to send messages but u can't modify it but in server proxy its possible to write a user code within the method to execute proxy.
    CLIENT PROXY:
A WSDL description from a UDDI server (or an Internet page) is usually used to make a service executable in the Internet and to describe the interface of this service. You require a client proxy and not a server proxy to call this service by using the Web service infrastructure.
    SERVER PROXY:
You can only generate ABAP server proxies from a WSDL description if they originate in the Integration Repository. You can also generate server proxies for Java and client proxies for ABAP from message interfaces.

  • Java maping and java proxies

    Hi
Can i use in the java mapping proxies classes generated for interfaces?
Or i can get in trouble because of library reference.
    Florin

Proxies are essentially the APIs, or the programming lines of code, that are generated for the target application language like ABAP/JAVA/.Net.
In some of the real time applications, each time it's not necessary to have particular Business Systems for send/ receive messages with SAP XI.
Sap XI provides diff. options to generate interfaces with ABAP / Java Applications such as as Proxies.
    <b>ABAP Proxy :</b>
    1. With ABAP proxy generation function it will be possible to generate ABAP proxy objects to an SAP system from an interface description in the SAP Exchange Infrastructure Integration Repository.
    2. ABAP proxy objects can only be generated for SAP systems that are based on SAP Web Application Server 6.40.
If you use ABAP Proxy , you can reduce the overhead calling the function again and again.

    Hi Sebastian,
It's because you reference the wrong structure. It's a bit tricky to get the right one, but look into generation tab in SPROXY. Here you can see, which data elements has been created, and using the right one of these is the key. Notice you can foreward navigate into the different structures, which can help you.
    Kind regards

  • Generated Web Service Proxies are not listed in NWA after deployment

    Hi everyone,
I have some problems with the generated WS proxies as descriped in SAP Help [Creating Web Service Proxies|https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-104216]). After generation and deplyoment no proxies are listed in the NWA under "SOA Management - Application and Scenario Communication - Single Service Administration". Are there any aditional steps e.g. entries in the deployment descriptors necessary?
    Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Markus.

    Hi Iris,
I think you are in Production Mode enabled Domain, because this option is only available for Dev Mode Domain.
    there is one alternate workaround.
    Under %BEA_Home% / server / lib
    You will find wlstestclient.ear.
and try to access this application and paste the current webservice URL.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Types of Proxies

    Hi Experts,
Could any one help me in giving the details of Proxies. Types of proxies and use of proxies.
It would be highly appreciated if anyone  give reply asap.
    Thanks,
    Satheesh

    Hi satheesh reddy  ,
These r the details regarding proxy :
    Proxy Generation
Proxy generation converts non-language-specific interface descriptions in WSDL into executable interfaces known as Proxies. Depending on the target programming language, you choose one of the following:
    ·        ABAP proxy generation is part of the SAP Web AS 6.40. ABAP proxy generation enables you to generate proxies to communicate by using the Web service infrastructure and by using SAP Exchange Infrastructure. ABAP proxies that were generated from message interfaces in the Integration Repository (IR) can be used in both infrastructures. This means that if none of the Integration Server services are required for a proxy-to-proxy communication scenario in ABAP, you can use a point-to-point connection using the Web service infrastructure instead.
    ·        Java proxy generation in the Integration Builder (Design) generates proxies from message interfaces in the Integration Repository. Java proxy generation packs the proxy objects in a Jar file, which you can save locally. You use the generated classes in J2EE applications on the SAP J2EE Engine.
You create proxy objects in the development system by using the proxy generation functions. They are transported and shipped by using the tools in the development system. There are separate tools in the Integration Repository
    Introductory Notes
ABAP proxy generation gets the WSDL description for message interfaces from the Integration Repository (WSDL Web Service Description Language) by using http. In WSDL, data that is transferred using messages is described using XSD (XML Schema Definition Language).
The Integration Builder does not support the full range of WSDL (for message interfaces) and XSD (for data types) commands; this is not the case for WSDL in the Web service infrastructure, however.
    Use
You can generate client or server proxies in ABAP to send or receive messages. You generate client proxies from outbound message interfaces and server proxies from inbound message interfaces.
    Procedure
Generating Proxies By Using Transaction SPROXY
    1. Call transaction SPROXY in the system in which you want to generate a client or server proxy.
The system displays a navigation tree on the left-hand side of the screen; it has the same structure as the interface maintenance tree in the Integration Builder. The interface objects are ordered according to software component version, namespace and object type (also see: ABAP Proxy Generation).
If no connection to the Integration Repository exists, the system only displays interface objects in the tree structure for which a proxy exists in the system.
    2. Choose an interface object for which no proxy already exists. To create a proxy for this interface object, double click the context menu Create Proxy.
    3. In the dialog box, specify the name of the package where you want to create the proxy objects. You can also specify a prefix for the names of all objects to be created to avoid naming conflicts with names that already exist in the system.
Generating Proxies By Using the Object Navigator (Transaction SE80)
    1.  Call the Object Navigator (transaction SE80) in the system in which you want to generate a client or server proxy. Select a package and call the context menu. Choose Create ® Enterprise Service / Web Service ® Proxy Object.
    2.  In the subsequent dialog window, choose the source of the WSDL document (URL/http destination, local file, UDDI or XI Repository).
If you choose XI Repository as the source of the WSDL document, the hierarchy of the software component versions in the Integration Repository is displayed in the subsequent window. The interface objects are ordered according to software component version, namespace and object type (also see: ABAP Proxy Generation). Choose an interface object for which no proxy already exists and confirm by choosing Copy.
    3. In the subsequent dialog window, enter the name of the package where you want to create the proxy objects. You can also specify a prefix for the names of all objects to be created to avoid naming conflicts with names that already exist in the system.
    Result
To generate proxies, the WSDL description of the message interface is read using HTTP. If no naming conflicts occur during the conversion, you can call the hierarchy of the generated objects from the tab page Structure. The objects are only then saved in the system once you choose Activate. Up to the point of activation, you can save metadata that contains all information for generation and that is managed by the transaction, and continue with generation at a later date.

  • Creating Java Proxies

    Hi all,
We have a scenario for RFC -> Xi -> Java Application. We need to inoke certain functionlities provided by the java application through RFC. As per my understanding, i need to create the relevant interfaces and then invoke the java application by writing Java Proxies.
Can any body please suggest if:
    1. My approach is correct? if no, then what is the possible solution?
    2. If Its correct then how to create java proxies. Can any body please provide me a link to a blog with sample application?
    Any help will be appriciated.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Kulwant Singh

    Hi Kulwanth,
Java Proxies are Java Class files to access the R/3. If u create an RFC Model for a BAPI/RFC enabled FM the system will automatically create Java Proxy classes for ur R/3 connection.
The Java proxies for the message interfaces are generated using the Integration Builder tool (Design) in the menu Tools --> Java Proxy Generation and subsequently by selecting the message interfaces

    1) The Java proxies for the message interfaces are generated using the Integration Builder tool (Design) in the menu Tools ---> Java Proxy Generation and subsequently by selecting the message interfaces.
Using the Java Proxy runtime we can Receive messages or Send messages to the Integration Server. The Java proxy runtime supports J2EE applications on the SAP J2EE Engine using Enterprise Java Beans 2.0. Synchronous and Asynchronous Outbound and Inbound communication is possible with Proxy Beans.

What is use & advantage of SOAP adapter.. any example scenario on this..
    >>Proxies
    1. <b>Can't</b> we use ABAP Proxy (directly with out IDOC or RFC Adapter) to communicate with SAP R/3 Versions 4.6C and Below?
    2. Can we use Java Proxy to communicate with SAP R/3.

    Hi Jen,
I will just explain and give you scenarios to understand SOAP Adapter, Proxies in general, ABAP Proxy and JAVA Proxy.

    <u><b>PROXIES IN GENERAL</b></u>
    <b>
    CLIENT PROXY:</b>
A WSDL description from a UDDI server (or an Internet page) is usually used to make a service executable in the Internet and to describe the interface of this service. You require a client proxy and not a server proxy to call this service by using the Web service infrastructure.
    <b>SERVER PROXY:</b>
You can only generate ABAP server proxies from a WSDL description if they originate in the Integration Repository. You can also generate server proxies for Java and client proxies for ABAP from message interfaces.
