Ps cc2014 change in getTextProc will crash plug-ins
An incidental change in the implementation of the photoshop binary API, will break indefinite numbers of third party
plugins in unpredictable ways. One common thread in the expected failures is that they will not occur the first time
a filter is used in a session.
The change is that readDescriptorProcs->getTextProc (used in scripting support) is no longer returning a null
terminated string (for the pc). As a rules lawyer, getTextProc never promised a null terminated string, but in all
previous versions of photoshop, and on the PC in general, strings have always been null terminated.
The the handle size of the returned strings is correct and can still be used to determine the size of the string.

Did you update or install other software? Import new images?
What plug-ins are you using? Have they ever worked well with Aperture 3.5.1 and Mavericks?

Then he should discover how to join the Adobe Solutions Network and get access to the development program. Adobe can't go out and scour the bushes to find people to invite (although they try). It's up to the developer to come to Adobe to get help. And, while Adobe DID require people to join ASN for a fee to get the CS2 SDK, that was changed for CS3 (and will be the same for CS4 as far as I know). And yes, to get the beta SDK one DOES have to sign an NDA...DOH!
So, one can sit on the sidelines and piss&moan about lack of access to the SDK or, if one is a "legitimate" (meaning somebody or company that is doing this for a living and NEEDS the SDK for a product that compliments Photoshop), then it's THEIR responsibility to go out and find out what they need to do to get the SDK that they need. Posting in a public forum about not being able to get the SDK isn't the way a "legitimate" developer would go about trying to get the info they need. -
Illustrator CC 2014 crashing on launch. Troubleshooting solution suggests moving third-party plug-ins, but how do I distinguish third-party plug-ins from those that should stay in situ, AND in any case, how do I actually move them, as any attempt to move anything out of the plug-ins folder simply creates a shortcut?

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Is it possible to change order of plug-ins in the environment?

I know how to change the order of the plug-ins in the arrange window (command and drag). When I try this in the environment it changes to the midi assign tool instead. Does anyone know of a way to change the order of pluggins on audio objects in the environment?

Plug-ins and horrible FF 32: For example, tells me that Adobe Acrobat 10.0.0.396 is insecure
I really, really, really hate FF 32 because it doesn't work right. That took me days to figure out. I couldn't figure out my problems at first--ran virus tools, etc., but it's FF. I tried for 2 hours (that I don't have) to figure out how to go back to FF31 but that seems to be impossible for a normal user. FF 32 won't go to many web pages, locks up, etc., BUT in addition, it doesn't like add-ons that are current and will not let me enable them: Acrobat as above (I have Acrobat Pro 10, not Reader, which conflicts with Acrobat Pro by the way so have Pro), Java Development Toolkit 6.0.250.6 "seems to be vulnerable" and of course Java platform. Please tell me how to get rid of the ridiculous security restrictions, which are causing me H_LL. Here's the thing. I don't want to use IE or Chrome, but Yahoo Mail will no longer work correctly with Windows 7. If you don't help me, I have to become a Chrome user. It's as simple as that. It's not allowing me to change the activation on the plug-ins or even activate the ones that are there automatically, which I really would not do in general. I'm not a new user, but this is TOO MUCH. Well I've never heard of the "Java Development Toolkit" plugin, but in case you meant the "Java '''Deployment''' Toolkit" -- you can delete this plugin without losing general Java content functionality in the browser. If you ''don't even need'' Java running in the browser, Oracle has a good guide on turning it "off" and all of these Java plugins will go away. I've learned that the Java Deployment Toolkit (also known as "Java DT") plugin is in fact considered "vulnerable" by Mozilla (and has been for a long time) but since that plugin is only designed for a specialized group of people, the default action of it being "blocked" isn't hindering the functioning of normal pc users (even in regards to the normal usage of Java.) Instead, they tend to get confused about the entire situation.
If you're interested in reading more about Java DT, there's a recent thread on mozillazine that talks about some of the security drama and confusion in regards to this plugin specifically. It also talks about the way to remove it too if you still need Java functionality in the browser. That thread is located here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2877359 I'd also recommend just turning it all off via that guide from Oracle -- I have desktop applications that require Java but up until recently the only time I really needed Java running in the browser was for Pogo games...and I've since learned that due to the security hysteria and mass confusion in the past year, they're now transitioning to flash-based gaming instead of Java. (And whether or not Flash offers more robust security over Java would require a whole new thread. Hint: it doesn't really.)
Also, a side-note on [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/philipp philipp's] answer -- I believe he is mistaking the standard Java plugin (the one needed for Java functionality in the browser) for Java DT. He mentions 1.6.0_25 which is an '''extremely old''' version of Java...version 6 in fact. To everyone reading this: these '''really old''' versions of software are full of security holes so it's best to update to the latest version, preferably Java 8 -- assuming you're still not on Windows XP. Everyone (again): if you're one of the 23% of people out there still on Windows XP, you seriously need to go out shopping as Microsoft security support for that OS ended earlier this year. The newest version of Java 8 is actually relatively good, even over version 7. You also can't get too comfortable with one version of Firefox either -- it's on a "rapid release" schedule so be prepared to deal with new GUI elements and other annoyances monthly. Being "annoyed" with Firefox just "comes with the territory" of using this browser -- at least at one point or another. You have to be prepared for constant change with Firefox because otherwise you'll miss out on the necessary security updates. Don't pretend you can live on [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/ ESR versions] forever too -- these are not meant for the "individual user." In fact, [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/33.0/releasenotes/ Firefox 33] just came out yesterday so you may want to try it. -

Logic has NOTHING to do with this issue. This is a copy-protection issue. I RECOMMEND you do the following: Run Onyx, and delete ALL caches, especially the kernel caches. This will reset the PACE cache, wherefore the plug-in list for the copy protection software will be reset, so you can see your plugins again. I've been through this.
I phoned The editor of SOund on Sound magazine and he suggeste4d that I reinstall OSX itself...
No disrespect to whomever you talked to over there, but the guy does not know what he is talking about.

Will plug in's such as Video co-pilot's Elements work on the CC and if so will they have to be re-installed everytime there's an upgrade?The update from After Effects CC (12.0) to After Effects CC (12.1) doesn't change anything with regard to plug-ins and scripts. They should all just keep working as before.
When going from After Effects CS6 (11.0) to After Effects CC (12.x), there is a need to install into the new locations, but not a need to get new plug-ins in most cases.

All of my plug ins are erased?
hey there....i have logic express 9....on a macbook....my interface is an m-audio fast track pro....i went to play a song i was working on and i couldn't hear anything...then i noticed all of the plug in indicators on each channel had a slash through them....and my "library" was empty..also i tried to just add another track and it would only allow me to add a MIDI track....but i assume its due to my library being erased......the fast track was acting a little weird it flashed an "error code #5" up on the screen....but no explanation....if the fast track wasn't acting right...could it erase just all of the plug ins? if the track data is still there....and i dump all of the songs over to an external hard drive...and reinstall logic....will the plug ins work on the old install songs? how can i figure out what went wrong? if something was wrong....why would it only erase the plug ins? i know this is like 10 questions in one....but i am lost and real sad if everything is lost......and i know what might be said....i should have backed up and had a back up for the back up....however....i just got logic like a week and a half ago.....just enough time to do enough stuff that i will be bitter if its gone...but not enough time to really do a back up..i thought anyhow..i guess lesson learned? anyways sorry to be so long winded...i hope someone can help....
duh!!!! i didn't upgrade the drivers for the fast track since i upgraded to snow leopard......problem solved...nothing lost.....

Any idea if LR will have plug-ins available like Aperture, ie. Flickr, PhotoShelter, Soundslides, YouSendIt, etc. Seems like Aperture is collecting quite a few but I haven't heard anything about LR.
Ahhhh... you caught that. Just wanted to make sure I included everyone. If other people hate this forum as much as I do, they may not come here until they absolutely have to. I hope Adobe updates this soon. I guess I should keep it all here eh?!
And yes.. an Asuka plugin would be GREAT! I'm using Asuka for more and more of my portrait as well as wedding sales. I tried using LR as is (Beta 4.1) to export (about 60) images to PS for including in a design and it was very slow... waiting for the export mainly. The next time I think I'll work from Bridge for this particular type of project. Once ACR 3.7 is out, it should be no problem. But to be able to do it all within LR would be the best.

Can anyone tell me if FCE 3.5 came bundled with any fx plug-ins. A company called CGM in Germany state on their website (www.cgm-online.com) that some of their fx plug-ins were bundled with FCE although not sure if if was FCE3 or FCE4. If I have to purchase them will their plug-ins work in FCE 3.5? If they did come with FCE 3.5 where are they as I cannot see them anywhere and there did not appear to be an obvious custom install option when I tried a re-install.

Updated CC2014 the other day, will not open, crashes everytime. I have OS X 10.9.4 - 3.4 ghz intel cor i7, 16 GB 1333 HHz DDR3, in vain talked on to adobe tech, with no help from Adobe.
This morning, I made a new "customer" and downloaded the "trial version" of CC2014 photoshop. This resulted a working CC2014. I hope Adobe can fix my "real" account which does not work at this time.
Anyone else tried this?
KenI don't think everyone with a Mac is having basic problems with Photoshop 2014.1.
What exact versions do you have in each case? Is your updated version 2014.1, while the "new customer" version is 2014.0? Choose Help - System Info to see.
Sounds like, given your specific system, you may want to try a full clean and reinstall, or maybe a downgrade to 2014.0 until 2014.1.1 or 2014.2 comes out. I think the older versions are available through the Creative Cloud application.

It will crash as soon as a song is selected while headphones are plugged in. It won't even go to the Now Playing screen; it will just hang on the highlighted song for a few seconds and then crash. Works fine when nothing is plugged in, though. Sometimes it will work completely fine, but after restoring the iPod, the problem seems to have worsened after a day of perfect operation.
The iPod was a gift from a friend, and he had it for a while, so I don't think there's a warranty on it anymore. Help please??If you only restored from backup try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod. If you still have the problem then an appointment at the Genius Bar of ab Apple store is in order since you appear to have a hardware problem. The apointment is free.

i changed my system on my mac 10.6.8 by doing a migration of my data and now i do find issues when i open logic, like i cant close it anymore (need to use the force quit option) if i ll bounce anything it will crash and same thing will happen if i wanna import something, if anybody has a idea??

Both browsers seem to crash when the web page wants plug ins to access pages. Simple ones like Google's home page, or these for example, work fine. I have run several scans with security software, including Malware (latest database), and they don't find anything.
The problem began because my computer had to be sent in because it wouldnt turn on so i had to get it fixed they replaced the motherboard this was the second time the motherboard was replaced and once they did that my firefox hasnt worked the same. I can go on google chrome but thats not what i prefer to use.
& when i right click on firefox it says troubleshoot so im assuming its built in to my computer. im not sure.
I tried the profile manager to create a new profile and that has seemed to work so far. No crashing but it does freeze when i got to facebook and then i have to click ctr alt delete to open task manager to end firefox. It happened twice, the third time i went to google, then twitter and it didnt freeze. I then went to youtube and it froze. So Facebook and youtube make it freeze. Any idea why it does that?
