PSD CS3 extended / animation problem

Hi,
I have a picture on a layer.
I can easily animate it in a straight line.
Problem: I also want to rotate the image as it moves in the same layer.
Can this be done ?
Or do I have to put as many layers as needed just to rotate ?
Thank you,
Alain

Alain,
Which axis do you want to rotate around?

  • CS3 Extended having problems opening image files.

I had a CS3 Master Collection from The Art Institute forced us to buy that I had never opened because Photoshop 7 worked fine & I didn't need all the other crap that came with CS3 in the Master Collection. So I had been using Photoshop 7 for years & years, but when I got a new computer, Photoshop 7 didn't work anymore. If you can't tell me what's wrong with CS3, maybe you can tell me how to get my old 7 working on 64 bit windows?
Getting this stuff out of the way:
*Brand new computer, Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit.
*Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection, installed about 3 months ago.
*CS3 Extended was working just fine for 1 or 2 months with no problems.
*Problem: CS3 stops responding or hangs exsessively when opening image files.
    *Already tried alt/ctrl/shift reset.
    *Already deleted all the printers.
*Already tried the tilde in front of the TWAIN.
*This Master Suite takes like 3 hours to install, so reinstalling is something I'd rather avoid.
    *Yes, it's updated.
    *Yes, the licence was renewed.

    Terabyte drive. 80% free space.
Yeah, I reinstalled. Can't believe I had to go through 4 discs to reinstall one program for the suite.
Reinstalling windows is overkill when" error check," & "SFC /scannow," & "boot repair" are sufficient.
Found out that it WILL work if you don't have a browser window open, but I like to listen to stuff on the net when using photoshop. I dunno why the browser makes photoshop refuse to open or create new images, but it would be helpful to know.
Also, despite not having a printer, the error log seems to indicate that it's part of the problem.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I did defrag after reinstalling. I know someone will bring it up if I don't.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended Activation Problem

Hi all, hoping someone can help me.
I have a legitimate hard copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended which was only recently taken out of its sealed package.
On installing and trying to activate I get an error. Now i am left with a window telling me "Registration Unsuccessful"
Any ideas how i can go about solving this? I legally own this copy and I need to use it and can't do with it deactivating.
Thanks in advance for any help given. It's very much appreciated!

Mordynak I am sorry but I find no software titles registered under the Adobe ID/e-mail address you used to post to this forum.  From this discussion it sounds like you have already utilized the process listed in Find your serial number quickly.
Please contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  If this link still fails then I would recommend utilizing a different web browser as the current add-ons, security settings, add-ons may be preventing a chat session from being made available to you.

  • CS3 Extended Freezing Problem!

I can open up PS just fine, but when I try to open a new document or open an existing one, it freezes. Any tips on what might be wrong and how to fix it are GREATLY appreciated. Also, if anyone knows how to disable Version Cue, please post the steps for that here too because that was my problem the last time this happened.

Is your printer set to a network printer that isn't available? Photoshop may be waiting for the printer driver to time out (when all we're asking for is basic information - lame drivers...).

  • Problem Reading Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended In Windows

I have Windows 7 and Photoshop CS3 Extended; can't read .psd file; error says not a supported file type; need to work with layers. When installed, received a Successful message upon installation. A solution to reading .psd files in Windows?

Thanks to both of you for responding.  The files I am referring to are loaded to my C drive from ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3 "CLASSROOM IN A BOOK" tutorial.  On the cover, it says "The official training workbook from Adobe Systems".  I don't know what to do at this point.  I'm ok with Html. Just need photoshop knowledge added and understand usde of .psd files provides a means to work with layering.  Any suggestions?

  • Adobe CS3 Extended - problem w Bridge - picture displayed wrong in Horrizontal Filmstrip mode

Recently started have problems with Adobe Bridge (CS3 Extended) after it did an automatic update from Adobe for my CS3. The problem is that the panel where the picture appears in "Horrizontal Filmstrip" is now positioned to the far right - partially off the screen; plus, whatever action done previously is showing through the panel area where the picture should have been. Doing "refresh" does not help.
Tried to reinstall the whole program but the problem did not go away.  Then uninstalled the whole Adobe CS3 suite (which includes Bridge); then reloaded the probram; and, then the problem went away. As soon as I downloaded the updates from Adobe again, the problem reappeared. Anyone no what to do?

Did you try to reset the preferences by holding down the ctrl key and starting Bridge?   You will get a reset window, choose all 3 options.
A re-install will not affect this file so if contaminated before it will be contaminated after.
Also, make sure you have the latest video driver, as this affects the filmstrip mode.

  • Photoshop CS3 extended error on Installation("A Problem occurred while extracting some files....

Hi guys. I dont know if youve experienced this but I get this error whenever I try to install Photoshop CS3 Extended. The error popup message goes like this:
"A Problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder."
    Any idea? :(
    thanks in advanced.
    Cheers!

    Welcome to the forum.
where is the file to download it directly?
With CS3, there might not be one any longer. CS4 has been out for some time. You might need to contact Adobe Customer Service for resolution. I know that they offer replacement media for a small fee, but do not know how far back they go with the versions.
For me, I always purchase the full discs, and from Adobe, so I have little experience with downloaders and with the downloadable files. Maybe someone else can offer you more direct assistance.
    Good luck,

  • Upgrade from CS3 extended to CS4 problem

I own CS3 Extended. I just purchased and download CS4 (not extended). Before I made the purchase, I contacted customer service (via chat) and was assured I could upgrade to CS4 from CS3 extended. When I try to register the product as an upgrade, it does not recogonize my CS3 extended serial number. Did Adobe steer me wrong?
    Thanks

I recall you have to get some kind of code from them to unlock the upgrade.
It was discussed here on the forum a few months back.

  • Photoshop CS3 Extended won't recognize QuickTime installation

    Hi,
using Photoshop CS3 Extended, I tried opening an animated GIF today without success. After some forum searching I found I had to import it as video into layers.
When I tried that I got this message:
"Could not complete the video frames to layers command because QuickTime version 7.1 or later is required."
I have QuickTime installed, the newest version (checked for updates and found none), and it works normally. This computer is just about 2 months old, so it's not an out-of-date installation of QuickTime, either.
I am running Windows XP Pro.
How does Photoshop determine whether QuickTime is installed or not?
    Any other ideas?
I'd rather avoid re-installing programs (especially QuickTime) if there's an easier fix for this.
    Thanks!

    Richard.
There was a problem with QT 7.4 and the Digital rights Management segment that conflicted with After Effects and Premier. There was an almost immediate update from Apple to 7.4.1 (6?) which fixed this problem, there may infact have been another update since then although from memory this was just an itunes update.
I'd update to the latest version which will more than likely fix the problems. If as you said you have the latest version then try uninstalling Quicktime and reinstalling it rather than using the apple updater.

  • PS CS3 extended "load files into stack" question

    Hi,
I've been trying to use the "Load files into stack" script in PS CS3 extended but the problem is that if for example I have files with these names:
    File_1
    File_2
    File_3
when I use the script it puts them together but in the wrong order so in my layers they are like this:
    File_1
    File_2
    File_3
which would be wrong because the File_1 is my first image but it's the last layer so if I make this into a gif file and watch it, it would play backwards.
I was wondering if there is away to fix this. thanks in advance.
PS: If there is anything I need to provide to make it easier for you to help me, please ask.

Thank you jugenjury for your fast replay, but let me explain what exactly I'm doing maybe it helps, I'm not very familiar with PS so I'm kinda confused about what you just said.
I'm trying to make a .gif from an .avi file. I tried using the File>Import>Video Frames to Layers but I get all blank layers so I used another program to take mass screen shots. so I have 133 images which I want to make into a .gif file. I use the Load files into stack script then in the animation tool I select the "make frames from Layers". It all works out so far but the problem is that the video plays backwards because of the problem I explained in first post.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended Trial

Hi guys, I've recently downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended. When I select the trial period for 30 days instead of buying the product, it says that Adobe cannot continue and it's having trouble loading the trial. I reinstalled it and restarted my computer, like it said, and nothing worked. Please help, I cannot afford Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended right now, and I do not support piracy at all.

I've tried to install the program from a different directory, I think my windows installer is crashing every time i try to install it, maybe I find a working hotfix for it.
I followed these steps when i tried to install ps:

    First I downloaded it to C:~~/Downloads (1.)
Then I extracted this file to C:~/Desktop (2.)

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes on startup under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - No splash screen

I installed my licensed copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended today as part of my install a bunch of software after a reinstall of Windows (due to viruses).  I did a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I've used Photoshop CS3 Extended for quite a while now so I know what to expect on startup but it was previously installed under Windows XP Professional (32-bit). Figured I would give Windows 7 a chance this time around.
Google searches aren't turning up anything.  When I attempt to start the application, I get a window with the title "Adobe Photoshop CS3" (no "Extended" - I seem to recall the title changes later) and the toolbar appears.  However, no splash screen appears and no Product Activation wizard appears - the application simply freezes on an empty frame and a toolbar.  I've tried running Photoshop as Administrator (right-click, "Run As Administrator"), but nothing changed there.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I tried upgrading to CS3 10.0.1.  Nothing works.  The application simply freezes before it gets anywhere.
I tried calling Adobe Support since this technically falls under installation issues but their phone support systems are down today.  Go figure.
Edit:  I hooked into Photoshop with the Visual Studio debugger and every single thread is executing some variation of WaitForSingleObject() or WaitForMultipleObjects().  The main thread is "executing" somewhere in AdobeLM_libFNP.dll (at address 09619d81 - if I had debugging symbols for CS3, I could provide a function).  There are nine threads "running" at the point the freeze occurs - but all of them are technically suspended due to the functions they are executing - and one thread is in a suspended state.

And, according to the Event Viewer, the "Binary" data translates to a zero-terminated Unicode string of "Cross-thread".
My Visual Studio analysis was far more informative.  All threads are hung inside of WaitForSingleObject() and WaitForMultipleObjects() calls and the DLL in question appears to be FlexNet-related.  I did forget to mention that I also even manually started the FlexNet service in case, for some strange reason, Photoshop was waiting for it to start.  That also did not work.
(And there is nothing in the Action Center control panel either despite the message saying there might be more information there.)
Edit:  The timestamp above might be a little odd-looking.  I didn't originally see anything in Event Viewer until I clicked the first button to send an Error Report.  Mostly I just skipped that part of killing a process.

  • What is wrong with my Photoshop CS3 extended?

    thank you

    "probably bad version of photoshop...
Very possible if you didn't buy it from an authorised dealer. There have been some very convincing counterfeits being sold all over the world, and one of the tell-tales is that not everything in the application works and /or there are things missing from it.
Does the disk or the packaging have "Printed in Singapore" on it?
