Publish Comments Issue

Hello, I've initiated a shared review via Acrobat 9 Pro, running Windows 7.  The review is saved to a network folder, with a link location sent out internally rather than via the email service.  All of my reviewers are using Reader X, and all have enabled JavaScript within their preferences to allow for the review.  However, the issue is that the "publish comments" button works for some users, yet not for others.  The issue users are able to view the document, add feedback, and hit the publish button, but the comments are not received by me or any other participants.  Strange that only some are having the issue since they are all using the same software versions.  Are there additional settings I need to have them set up?  Thanks!

I would double check that all users have the right permissions to the shared drive/folder.  It appears some users have read & write access (the users that can publish comments), while others have read only access (the users that can add feedback, but nothing seems to come through).  To  clarify: this would likely be a Windows/network issue handled by the network administrator rather than a setting you would change in Acrobat.
Hope it helps

  • Shared Review: Can't Check for New Comments or Publish Comments

I am having a problem with a network file share (SMB) Shared Review.  I am not able to Check for New Comments or Publish Comments.  When I click those buttons all I get is the green circle continuously spinning forever.  Other members of my team are able to check for and post new comments.  I am able to connect to the SMB file share outside of Acrobat just fine.  I am using Acrobat Pro XI with the latest update 11.0.03.

    Try the following steps :
    1. Keep the review file closed and remove the review enty from the Tracker. For this "Go to View->Tracker. Choose the review file under the Review->Joined node and from right click options choose 'Remove review from Tracker'."
Note: Do not remove the reviews which you had initiated i.e. those under Sent node. Otherwise, the review will removed from the server also.
Alternatively, you can delete the Collab and Synchronizer folder from the following location:
    /users/+username+/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/+version+/
    2. Sign out from Adobe.com comment. For this "Go to Preferences->Adobe Online Services". and click sign out.
    3. Now open the review PDF again and login with the correct credentials.
Hope, this will resolve your issue.

  • Publish DynamicWSProxies issue

    Hi all,
I want to use VC 7.0 to consume SAP enterpriese services from ERP 6.0 EHP4.
    I've followed this steps:
1.- I've test URL from wsnavigator in order to check connectivity issues
    2.- I've create DynamicWSProxies
    ERP_200
    URL: http:// find data
    ERP_200 & search
    First problem:
I can see only one WS  (if I chose ERP_200_METADATA "there are not result to display")
    Second problem:
when I want to "drang and drop"  into the iview a popup appear "Failed to fetch metadata Portal request failed due to: Operation not found
    (I´m not using Layers)
Thanks in advance for any comments.

  • Cannot publish comments to a shared review

I created a shared review from a PDF located on a shared network drive. The storage location for the shared review is on ANOTHER shared network drive (Drive 2). According to our IT department, all members of the shared review have write access to Drive 2; however, some members CANNOT publish their comments to Drive 2. On the other hand, some CAN publish comments.
Upon opening the PDF on Drive 2, one user gets the following message: Adobe cannot connect to the Review Server: Drive 2. If he clicks Keep Tryping, the PDF opens. He then saves it to HIS computer, adds a comment, and clicks Publish Comments. He gets the message: Could not publish comments. Acrobat cannot access the network. IT cannot figure out why he cannot publish his comments.
Moreover, if he SAVES the PDF to the location in Drive 2, closes the PDF, and opens it again, his comments are there, but NOT comments published by others. AND when I open my local copy of the review, I cannot see his comments, only the comments by others.
I hope IT can figure it out, but in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Van

This is a known issue on German OS. This has been documented in AX release notes - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/877/cpsid_87775.html (issue#2734285)
As a workaround, you can try the following:
    1. Go to Control Panel->Regional and Language Options on XP
    2. Click Customize button in 'Standards and formats"
    3. Change the Decimal symbol from , (comma) to . (dot) and click OK
Now try adding comments to the review file. That should help.

  • Publish Comments not showing

Two reviewers, both with Adobe Acrobat X Pro, open the PDF attachment in a shared review they were invited to. One sees the Publish Comments/Retrieve Comments buttons, and the other does not see them. What could be the problem?

Permissions are one thing.  The comments are kept in an XML file on the server and everyone who participates in the Shared Review should have Read/Write privileges.

  • Publish Comments Button not Active

  • Reader 9 - Users cannot join or publish comments

We have a set of reviewers. I create a 2-page PDF document and initiate a shared review through Acrobat X.
Some with Acrobat X can review, comments, and publish comments just fine.
Other reviewers with READER 9 cannot join the review. The can make comments, however there is NO option to Publish Comments.
How can the users with Reader 9 join the review and publish their comments.

Are the reviewers opening the file in Reader application or browser?
    Please refer to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/508/cpsid_50894.html
Can your reviewers check their registry settings if bEnableWorkflowPart is set to 0? If it is 0, it means shared reveiw functionality has been disabled.

  • How do you publish comments in XI?

Reviewers are upgrading to XI. No one can figure out how to Publish Comments. This is crppling our workflow! How do you publish comments in XI?

    Review these Acrobat Help topics:

As y'all are going to be working out of the contemporary Acrobat it'd be more than a little beneficial to add the link that follows to the browser's Favorites/Bookmarks.

  • Strange Comments issue I may have caused, any suggestions?

Hello, I may have caused a problem on my iWeb blog and hope that someone can offer suggestions.
What I did was this - my blog page name was Weblog. I changed it to Blog while making other changes to my website. I then published changes. However, when I saw that my changes were still showing in red (website was not updated), I published all and everything went to blue. My site was updated.
Problem - after doing the above, I noticed that all my entries on the website said "No Comments", even on entries that I know have comments. I went into iWeb and it says the same thing, but when I read the blog entry, the comments are there with the correct count. So I can see the comments in iWeb, but not on the website. Both iWeb and the website show "No Comments" in the blog page and in each entry.
I later read the Apple troubleshooting note (via a link in this forum) that because the comments are stored on their server, we should not change the folder name. However, I did not change the folder name, did I? Is that the same as changing the page name in iWeb?
Anyway, I first tested my site by posting a comment in a new entry and it works. However, if I add a comment to an entry that had previous comments, the old comments go away and only the new comment shows. So, I deleted the new comments and quit iWeb without saving. This got me back to where the old comments were still there.
I decided to change the page name back to Weblog and I republished the entire site, but that did not work. All the entries and blog page still say "No Comments" in both iWeb and on my site, even though the comments can be seen in iWeb.
If anyone has any suggestions for getting the website to show the counts, and for the website to show the counts and the comments, I would appreciate it. It was always working well before, I shouldn't have changed the page name, and then change it back, but I didn't think that would do any harm.
BTW, this was my first use and publishing on iWeb since updating to OS 10.5.7 late last week, so not sure if that had anything to do with it. I am also on a new iMac after migrating yesterday, hope that doesn't add to the issue.
Thanks in advance for your help. I have always been able to resolve issues with help from the users here, but I fear that I may have caused a doozy.

The last entry that I know had comments was the one about the World Baseball Classic on March 22, 2009. I looked at the source but don't see any of the comments showing, just something about the Comments widget. Thanks.

  • Publish HTML Issue

    Hey Folks,
So I've bee running into a very strange issue, that just
started happening yesterday with one particular .fla. Every time I
attempt to publish the HTML file it fills the <!--text used in
the movie--> comments over a thousand times. Since I only have
one field and the text is entered dynamically I end up with line
after line of <p> tags. Anyone have any clue what the heck is
    going on?
    Cheers

Here are two examples created by two different students in the same lab using the same software configurations:

  • Blog Comment issues...

Does anyone have a solution to the following error message with the Blog Comment Fuction:
'We're sorry. We are having a problem processing your request.'
I didn't get this error message before the switch to Mobile Me. Never had those issues as long as it was all .Mac.
Anyone have any ideas to address that problem ?

I' from Italy too and I thought that might have been the problem ( lack of UPDATED info), since forums seem to be in English but as Harry said ... shame for the support we're getting.
I now enter my website - l published all to Mobileme - substituting the mac. with me. and it seems to work but ...will I have to inform all people to do that? It somehow seems something we customers shouldn't do and furthermore HAVE NEVER NEEN NOTIFIED TO DO SO!!
    Have a nice weekend!

  • XML Publisher Report Issues

    Hi,
We have customized a report (XML Publisher) in which our template is in XSL format. When using this stylesheet (.XSL) to print out PO's, there are some problems with the page layout, more specifically regarding the page breaks:
    1) Extra empty page is printed - can this be avoided?
    2) If the entire line block does not fit on the page, the line should be completely shifted to the next page (called "widow and orfan control" in MS Word) ?
How to avoid these issues? Replies will be appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Iweb comments issue!

i have an iweb site and am using a third party code for comments as i do not have a MobileMe account for the built in comment system with iweb.
and im having an issue... so i use the html snippet widget and all works fine until there are enough comments that it reaches the bottom of the page and it like runs oout of space and i have to increase the height in order to see more.... how do i make it so the comments automatically push the page down so half of its not cut off?

*Sorry for the double post, but I appear to have two Apple ID accounts*
Over the past week or so, I have had two people tell me that they can not leave comments on my blog. I have tried myself (from MacBook Pro, iPhone 4 and Dell/Windows) and can not get a comment to post. I get the pop-up comment window, enter my comment, enter my name and then enter the security "phrase" that is provided. Then, when I hit "Add Comment" it just sits there. It does not reqister at all. And this is all on a very simple MobileMe hosted site. No outside domain. No outside tools. Just iWeb and MobileMe.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone know if MobileMe is experiencing issues that are causing this? It sounds like I am not the only one.
