Purchase UofM to Inventory UofM Conversion

Hello everyone,
SAP B1 2007
This may be one of the easiest things but I just can figure it out.
I have a greenhouse business and I hold stock on seeds (by the count) but I buy them by the pack, each seed if different.
When I create a purchase order I need the PO to say 1Pk $X.XX than when I receive the PO the amount of seeds go into inventory.
For example:
Basil Seeds RM: PK=2000 seeds $4.70.
I have tried to change the "Item per purchase unit" to 2000, but when I make a PO it takes 4.70 and multiplies it by 2000 so the PO cost is way off. Seed prices are so low that its imposable to put the cost of 1 seed as the unit cost.
I also tried using Factor 1-4 but that seems to do the same thing.
How can I make the PO equal 1 PK that receive the PO and have 2000 Seeds go into inventory?
Thanks for you help.
Andy

Scratch that, I understand what you are saying Gordan.
I was just wondering if there was another way to accomplish what I was trying to do, because some of the equations are like $4.50/18000 we are talking fractions of pennies for 1 seed.
Anyway thanks Gordon please let me know if there is any other way to achieve this, if not thanks again.

I NEED A REFUND for the conversion utility that purchased two days ago.l It is because my files consist almost completely of unusual font symbols that I cannot get into the right place on my current computer. I will have to do the conversion manually. It is not Adobe's fault. How do I obtain a refund?

The subscription has been canceled & refunded. You will get the money within 4 to 5 days. The case # assigned to it is 213516635.

• Purchasing - NETPR in 2LIS_02_ITM(Currency Conversion)

Hi Experts,
Need a clarification regarding the field NETPR in the Datasource 2LIS_02_ITM.For example,if the purchase order is raised in CHFcurrency and if the company code(local)currency is USD,the field NETPR converts the PO currency to local currency automatically. This brings about the difference between data in source table EKPO & the data in the Datasource due to difference in currency.Let me know whether the standard field is designed in such a way that it converts PO currency to local currency.
Regards,
Meera

InfoObject of NETPR (i.e. 0NETPRICE) uses currency as 0LOC_CURRCY (Local currency). If you want NETPR to be stored in CHFcurrency then create a Z KeyFigure with CHFcurrency and store NETPR in this object.

• Purchase requisitions to schedule lines conversion

hi,
Is there a way to mass convert purchase requisitions to schedule lines directly?
The material for this scenario would have a scheduling agreement and source list defined but i am unable to use ME59 to do this. All the indicators for auto PO have been checked.

Hi,
For creating schedule lines automatically, you have to maintain at source list the vendor & schedule agreement number & mark at MRP column as 1 (MRP relevant). Then system will generate the schedule lines from MRP

• Dynamic Unit convertion between Purchase Unit & Inventory Unit

Dear Expert,
One of my client have been using SAP 8.82 PL:00
Question:
Purchase Unit of all Raw Material in to "KG" unit. But Inventory Stock should be maintain in "Ltr."
Now its KG to Ltr. ration is depends on Specific Gravity of that Raw Material which have been changing on every time. Because Specific Gravity depends on Temperature. E.g At this time If user purchase 1 KG of Raw Material & its Specific Gravity is 0.860 at 30 ' C Temp. Hence Inventory Ltrs. = 1 KG / 0.860 = 1.167 Ltr
Now let say at the time of Good Issue against Production Order Temperature is 35 ' C & hence its Specific Gravity is 0.840. Now suppose if user want to Issue that Material of 1.94 Ltr. How can be possible??
On next Purchase of same Raw Material, it specific Gravity may be 0.890. In short its Purchase Unit to Inventory Unit conversion ration have been changing every time due to slight change in Temperature.
How can we manage in SAP B1??

Hi frnds,
Can anybody send me MM-Purchase and MM-Inventory dataflows.

Hi
MM-Purchase Flow
1) Purchasing Requsition -- sent by inventory dept to purchasing dept
2) Request for Quotation(RFQ)-- Purchasing Dept shall ask the vendors to give the quotation for the requested materials by inventory.
3) Quotation --Quotation is sent by vendors to the company
4) Purchase order-- Based on all parameters of a quotation sent by vendors. Vendors are selected from whom the material has to be obtained. The company gives purchase order to the vendor.
5) Good's receipt --vendors sends the goods to the company with goods receipt
6) Invoice verification -- this done based on good's receipt. this means that the ordered goods have reached or not.
7) Payment -- payment is done based on invoice verification.from (FI/CO)

• Client wants accurate inventory and last purchase price but no acct entries

My client uses SBO to track inventory but does not use for financials (No AP invoices or payments). They create a goods receipt PO to accurately capture inventory, but now want to update last purchase price as well, which needs to be done with an AP invoice. The problem is the AP invoice creates acct entries for BP and in the GL. Is there any way to reverse the accting entries without updating the last purchase price and inventory levels?

You can manually update the last purchase price either by Goods Receipt or Inventory Tracking & Posting. You just need to create exact Goods Issue or negative tracking to reverse the inventory quantities.
Thanks,

• Assets management and inventory Management.

This may be simple situation often encountered in industries. The need is to manage an item as an asset as well as manage inventory functions of purchasing, receiving, physical inventory and issue of these assets to customers as inventory materials. The materials are also needed to accounted for depreciation functions.
Can experts throw some light on the kind of best practice process flows that we could often consider.
Thanks in advance for contributors.

Good questions: I think I need to explain the full scenario.
This is for a health care industry. The intention is to purchase the materials as assets and these come from different vendors, but often, it could be the same material. The current thinking is as follows:
1. Forecast the reqiuirement of the materials according the different sizes. For example : small, medium and large. Each of these sizes could come from different vendors with different model numbers, but are groupd under the sizes.
2. Based on the forecast probably using APO, the materials are purchased in ERP for these sizes. But we still need to carry the vendor model number as part of the attributes of the materisl. Here there seems to be three options.
- One is to use Material classification and use capture the model number of the vendor.
- second is to utilise the Form Fit Function functionality of SAP IS for A&D.
- Third potential option might be to use Batch management and capture manufacturer number in batch characteristic.
Once the materials are purchases these are settled to assets and then there is a need to manage their inventory as the requirement is to utilise Logistic execution functionality including sales, delivery and goods issue functionality. In addition the materials also need to be transferred between different SAP plant locations.
There is also a challenge to manage the requirement as more often, the need is for just the size. but sometime there is a requirement for a specific model within a particular size.
I am not too sure whether there is an absolute need to manage seralisation for individual material numbers, but from asset management perspective, is there a need> Pl clarify
Any comments / suggestions on the above is very welcome.
Appreciate your time and thinking and value contribution.

• Cant figure out how to add an inventory organization.

Hello all. Thank you in advance for any help. Here is my business need:
1.) We purchased a new company, and would like to set them up in Oracle as a unique legal entity, with their own Inventory structure, purchasing etc.
2.) We only have the following modules installed:
a.) General Ledger
b.) Purchasing
c.) Inventory
d.) Accounts Payable
e.) Assets.
3.) We are using applications 11.5.9
I have downloaded and read through most all the documentation here: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B11454_01/11.5.9/html/technologyset.html, read Metalink, and searched the forums, but can not seem to resolve.
I believe I need to be able to:
1.) Define a Location (I can do this)
2.) Define Organizations:
a.) Business Groups ( I can do this)
b.) HR organizations (I can do this)
c.) Legal Entities (I can do this)
d.) Define operating Unit organizations. I get stuck here. My Legal Entity seems to disappear and can only be seen in Sys Admin->Profiles->System. I no-longer see it in Setup->Organizations.
Then, there are several steps after this.
Any guidance / help is greately appreciated. Even a high level overview would be nice with reference to further readings.
Thanks,
Colby

• How to manage variable conversion factor in UOM to order unit

Hi,
We have a material whose base unit is PC unit price is 8 Euro / PC
Order unit is Box now we do not have a standard conversion factor.
Means sometimes vendor send 8 pc/ Box ,10 pc /Box and 12 pc /Box
so when we create Material master and enter order unit as Box in purchasing view system ask for conversion rate
if we do not enter any the value in PC field its taking 1 Box =1 PC as default.
Example: Now while creating PO say we order for 10 box.(at this point we do not know exact conversion rate)
and in the conditions we maintain price against PC .system calculate.
Now when we receive the material then we actually know how much QTy we receive in SKU (PC) but that field is blur (no input) in 101 mvt type.
One more thing In MIGO we can enter the Qty in PO Price Unit say we enter 80 PC
system only creates stock value posting (80 * 8 =640 Euro ) but the stock qty in MMBE is still 10 piece ( from 1:1 conversion with box)
Please suggest how we can handle this variable conversion rate.
So that we can enter correct Qty in the time of GR ( MIGO ).
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for the valuable Input.
For our material base unit is PC order unit is Box.
Say we main a conversion factor 10 PC =1 Box ( a default value) in MM01
And we order 10 Box. but when we receive we found that vendor send 12 pc per Box so total 120 pc
[ Po price unit is in PC in condition details]
Now in MIGO we cannot modify that Qty ( from 100 to 120 in PC)
SO you are suggesting here we receive 12 box in MIGO. so that actual qty in PC is correct..
Thanks again

• Purchase offsetting account

My Client belongs to Spain, so for external reporting there have to show Purcahse Account and Purchase offsetting Accounts.
Now my question is , I exectived T.Code MC$4 to get the PO, GR, IR value and i am comparing the MC$4 Value with GL account by using FBL3N T.code. The purchase offsetting account value is differs with MC$4T.code.
Can one please suggestion me why there is a difference between Purchase offsetting alc and MC$4 Value and also please suggestion me, whether my comparision between MC$4 and FBL3N is correct or not.
Thanks,
Kotliyal.

Hi,
Note on purchase account/purchase offsetting account/inventory account which is used for country specifics like Venuzula/Russia etc.
1. when the Goods receipt happend.
stock account Debit
GR clearing account Credit
simulteniously:
Purchase account Debit
Purchase off setting credit
2. When invoice entered :
Vendor account credit
GR clearing a/c debit
In this scenario, purcahse account and purchase off setting a/c shall tally.
GR clearing also get tallied.
only Inventory will remain and it shall get reduced as when goods are issued for production/assembly.
Let me know if you need any clarification, or reward if clarified.
Thanks,
PNR.

• Round up value in purchase order

hi
based unit of material master is YD, the purchase unit is ROLL, the conversion is 1 ROLL = 3500 YD, if my requirement from sales order is 4000 yd, when i convert to PO, it should be 2 roll, but now, the qty is 1 roll, even i set the rounding profile for this material, pls advice
thanks

Hi Jo Jo
This can be done with Dynamic rounding profile for this u have to create UOM group and rounding rule first
Do following configuration
1) Create Rounding rule ( Unit of measure rounding rules )
Path
SPROMaterials ManagementPurchasingOrder Optimizing Quantity Optimizing and Allowed Logistics Units of Measure Unit of Measure Rounding Rules
here give new rounding rule and % rounding up and down values
2) Create Unit of measure groups
Path
SPROMaterials ManagementPurchasingOrder Optimizing Quantity Optimizing and Allowed Logistics Units of Measure Unit of Measure Groups
create new group for YD and ROL
3)Dynamic rounding profile
Path
SPROMaterials ManagementPurchasingOrder Optimizing Quantity Optimizing and Allowed Logistics Units of Measure Maintain Rounding Profile
Here give Rounding profile name and plant and click on Dynamic to create new profile
in next screen Give desc. For rounding profile , Rounding off method as 2, and Rounding rule which u have created
Assign created Rounding profile in info record also UOM group
maintain minimum order qty as 1 Rol and Order unit as ROL in Info record
In material master maintain conversion as 1Rol=3500 yards
I hope this will solve ur prob.

• Commitment for project inventory

We've been researching Requisitions and Purchase Orders for Projects and how they flow through to show as a commitment and we are having problems with materials purchased as project inventory. I've read many Notes on this issue but haven't been able to get a clear answer on the question of commitments for Inventory items.
Can anyone let me know if a requisition for materials purchased as Inventory should be showing up as a commitment?
When a requisition is entered with Account Assignment P, to an expense GL account, the amount of the requisition appears as a commitment in CJI5. Once the PO is receipted the balance moved from commitment to actual. When the same requisition is entered as a Q, the system correctly automatically assigns to an inventory account, but no commitment is made. The only time the balance appears on the project is when the goods are issued, then the balance appears a Actual.

Thank you for the information.
For anyone that has a problem creating balance sheet cost elements in the future please refer to SAP Note 75980.
This Note provides guidance on error KS036 that stops a cost element from being created from a balance sheet account. The Note gives steps to remove error message KI098 which indirectly deactivates message KS036 to allow a cost element to be created.
