Purchasing iPhone Apps for iPod touch

I can't find a way to purchase mail, maps, etc... on the iTunes music store for my iPod Touch. I even tried the link to them from apple's website, but it takes me to an info page within iTunes and when I click okay it just goes to the front page of the store.

Hey dahlberg,
This link should take you to the January Software Upgrade purchase screen in iTunes.

    Hi Luke,
Currently there's no program you can download and sync it to your iPod. However, there are some web apps you can use. This means the application will be loaded in safari. Here's some:

i'm a novice..if i downloaded a free siriusxm radio app for ipod touch, are there any charges i.e. data etc.? or is it free

You have to have the special SiriusXM account for listening and you must have a regular SiriusXM subscription. Cost is around $15.00 per month. The Live365 app only requires a $7.95 per month subscription and provides much more than SiriusXM.

  • HT4859 Purchased more storage for ipod touch but not working

I have purchased a tv episode and my ipod touch is saying not enough storage.  So I purchased more storage for $20, but apparently this is for cloud storage and not for other purchases?  How can I get my $20 storage purchase over to my ipod touch so I can buy more videos, etc.
    Thank you!

You need to contact Apple within 15 days of the purchase to get a refund for iCloud. Plusco lays out the details on this other thread.

ask 100 people and you get 100 opinions.
scout the iTunes app store and find out which apps will suit your needs. you can do that NOW, while you anticipate the arrival of your new toy. it's more fun that way, IMHO

  • Kids' Apps for iPod Touch Running v. 4.2.1?

Recently purchased Touch 5G and want to give my old Touch to my grandson who is five.  Anyone aware of any games that work on v. 4.2.1 that I can add to the old Touch? Looked in the app store and the ones I tried wouldn't download because they won't work on this older version.

  • IPhone apps to iPod Touch

If I buy apps for the iPhone 4 and buy a 4th gen iPod Touch, can I sync those apps to the iPod Touch?  Meaning, if the iPod is connected to my main iTunes account/User ID can I have the same app installed on the two devices I own?  Or do I need to re-purcahse for each device?
I do realize that some apps are iPhone only, ie. one's that are phone dialing apps/SMS apps, etc...
But for the others that are iPhone/iPod Touch, is this how it works?  Just sync two iOS devices to iTunes and keep them unique?  Say iPhone has 40 apps, iPod Touch has 25 of those apps.  If I buy apps on the iPod Touch, when it syncs to the desktop, can I put it on the iPhone and vice-versa?
I've only got a 16 GB iPhone and am upgrading from an 80 GB iPod Classic, so want something that can hold most of my music/video library (64 GB iPod Touch), but will also play some games, run productivity apps, etc...
    Thanks

Best option? Most likely connect your iPhone to the computer you generally Sync with. When you've connected the phone up, you will want to find your iPhone name on the left hand side under 'Devices' and Right Click (if on Windows) -or- Ctrl+Click (if on Mac) on the device and select the option to Transfer Purchases.
Once this is done, connect up your iPod Touch, navigate to the Apps tab for the device and select the option to Sync Apps and select the Apps you wish to Sync
As an aside, this depends on the App for the data. Some apps that require to to login using an AppleID or else will be stored Serverside and thus transferrable to the new device, however some Apps the data will be stored locally (ie the Phone itself) so it wouldn't be transferred across. It's kind of a hit or a miss with if it is stored or not, basically best option would be to sync and find out

  • Can anyone recommend some good apps for ipod touch 3rd gen can't find any its for my niece thanks

You appear to be stuck on iOS 4.2.1. That means up really have a 2G iPod. A real 3G can go to 5.1.1

  • Search for non-internet Apps for iPod Touch?

I have an iPod Touch, so I don't always have an internet connection when I am away from my house. I would like to specifically search for apps that don't require an internet connection to run. For example, many of the translation tools rely on Google to translate--I would like a translation app with a built-in dictionary that I can use without having internet access.
Is there a way to specify a search for only self-contained apps (don't rely on internet) when searching iTunes? Or do I need to open the description for each app to see if it relies on an internet connection?

No one answered you, but this is exactly what I am looking for too.
What I have found is that, without an internet connection, the iphone and touch products are little more than a pretty music player. I think they call it 'cloud computing'; focusing data storage and function on remote systems and just using the touch and iphone for access. That appears to be the way their development is going. It works fine when you are always near wifi, but where I work has no wifi and no cell coverage. I've found that for most work tasks, translation, secure documents, gathering data, GPS etc, the PDA or smart phone is a better fit. Those store data and applications locally on the unit itself rather than on the internet somewhere that you won't always be able to access.
With all the storage space on the touch and iphones, you'd think they could give a little of it over to onboard apps and functions, but until they do, at least there is the PDA.

  • How to get apps for ipod touch 3g

I have ipod touch 3g. Recently i  have restored it without backing up. Other words, i lost all apps that i had. So, now i cannot install any apps because all of them have the newest IOS. Where can i find apps with old IOS for ipod 3g?
    Thank you.

    - First, yo really have a 2G iPod. A 2G can only go to 4.2.1 while a 3G can go to 5.1.1
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
    For the apps you had:
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • IPhone apps on iPod Touch?

Will the iPhone OS 2.0 apps (available in the apple store starting tomorrow) also running on the iPod Touch? If yes, do I need a Software update on my iPod Touch?

I've got the latest version of itunes and the latest software on my ipod touch, i've downloaded a few apps, they are on the side bar on the left of itunes but I cannot get then on the touch. According to the apple website I should have a tab for apps when I plug in my ipod, don't have that. I've also ticked the applications box in preferences but still no luck.
