QM: NO INSPECTION LOT GENERATED

Dear Friends,
My client is using SAP 4.7 version. We are facing the following problem in QM.
1. For the Material QM view is active in material master, but no inspection type assigned, i.e. inspection set up is not maintained.
2. After doing goods receipt for the production order, (movement type 101); material stock is in QM (as per MMBE) but NO INSPECTION LOT GENERATED.
3. I have checked in the display document for the material document posted in goods receipt. It does not show any inspection lot generated.
4. I tried to assign inspection type 0800 from transaction QA08; but this is again not generating any inspection lot. However the material master is getting updated with the inspection type.
5. All the Quality masters like inspection plan, sampling procedures, etc. are in place with creation date before the material document posting date.
Please help in this problem, as it is live system I cannot try many options.

Hi,
You need to activate inspection type 04 in QM view of material master. So whenever you do GR for your production order,stock will posted to QM & inspection lot will be created.
Now in your case,you have done GR,so first you need to cancle material document (101),Then Read PP master data and again do GR for production order.
Now you will get inspection lot.

    1. Inspection Type "05" should be active.
    2. Check Movement type 531 in transaction OMJJ, here QM- Not active check box should not be active.

  • Inspection lot generated without any movements

    Hello,
    Inpection lot is created on 15.02.2010 for a material, however there were no movements taken place on the material on 15.02.2010.
    The material has QM view activated with inspction types 01 & 04,
    Inspection lot 80000000003 is posted for Insp.lot origin 08, pl suggest

    Inspection type 08 is not activated and I also checked MB51 for any movements no 311 movements have been posted.
    the said material has 01 & 04 inspection types, and movements posted are 101 & 321.
    Inspection lot is created on 15.02.2010, however for the said material no movements happened on the date 15.02.2010.

    I tell you the scenario,
    As here in prodution, they combine number of orders having  same material no.  into One Comboorder having different Order type for ex combo order having ZCOM order type and child order having PP04 order type.
    For Ex
    Combo order(50025)

    as given above structure
    we have developed on Z transction which combine all child orders and made one combo order with total of three, but order type of combo order is different and child orders having different order type.and when combo order released child order also get released but problem is inspection lot generated for combo order only  not child orders
    what would be the reason

    You can generate an inspection certificate for the inspection lot generated for 04 insp type.
    U need to use QC21 Certficate for inspection lot transaction ( U can search the lot for ur production order)
    Basic steps to be done
    1. Create certificate profile
    2. Assign profile with out any recipient.
    3. Generate certificate

    need an additional field in QA32 to allot the Inspection lot generated to the Inspector for the purpose of rating the inspectors by running a report.
    Also needs to appear  a drawing document number against the respective inspection lot which should also appear in the reports run at the QA32 screen.

  • Inspection Lot with Zero stock posting qty

    Dear QM Consultants,
    We have come across following scenario,
    1.     Repetitive manufacturing
    2.     Material has inspection type 04 and Z04. Preferred inspection type is not ticked. Z04 inspection type has been assigned to inspection lot 04.
    3.     Production GR done by 131 movement
    4.     Inspection lot generated with reference to 131 movement type. Lot for inspection type 04 is created.
    5.     Inspection lot qty in QA32 it shows correctly as that of GR qty.
    6.     But when we click on UD, in stock posting tab, qty to be posted it shows as ZERO. So no qty is available for stock posting.
    Has anybody came across such scenario? Is this any bug? Any SAP note for this?

    Dear Sujit, Thanks for so prompt reply,
    Basically this is a complex case,
    1.     See we have set Posting Proposal in Usage Decision as u2018To unrestricted useu2019 in selected sets for usage decision. That means we need not every time go to stock posting tab. The moment we select ACC UD code it automatically posts the stock to unrestricted use.
    2.     Now, what has happed, by 131 movement declaration, backflush happened with 261 movement for child parts.
    3.     Inspection lots with inspection type 04 were created. (Here we did not note whether the stock was posted in quality inspection or in unrestricted use)
    4.     Now the requirement is to cancel 131 movement document. Kindly note UD were not given up to this moment.
    5.     Now through MFBF, user did document specific reversal. As a result of which and as per my knowledge 132 movement should happen and 262 should also happen. At the same time inspection lot status should be set to LTCA. But in actual case 132 movement happened and 262 did not. Surprisingly inspection lot did not set to LTCA status. It remained in REL mode only.
    6.     After this document specific reversal, user gave UD to these inspection lots without noticing where the stock was lying.(in unrestricted or in quality inspection). So the lot status set to UD   ICCO SPCO STUP after giving usage decision.
    7.     Now while doing reverse engineering that why 262 movement did not happen, we came to know that no 321 movement happened for the inspection lots which were generated with reference 131 movement document
    8.     Also, qty to be posted it shows ZERO as explained in my earlier post.
    9.     When we display 132 movement document through MIGO, in where tab it shows stock type as Quality inspection. That means stock was lifted from QI for 132 movement.
    In short  it cannot be predicted where the stock was actually posted whether in QI or in unrestricted use. But yes the post to inspection stock tick has been ticked in material master.
    Can you help further in this regard?

  • Deleted delivery and inspection lot  tracking

    dear all,
    i have an issue please guide me
    the senario is
    At my client , there is a delivery happening in  vl01n i will pick the required quanity  and  send the lot to the QM  for final doc audit then after the QC is passed it will released from the QM then i will do the Post Goods Issue .
    the problem is here in the client    i have created  a delivery document and i have picked the quantity and  issued for the final doc audit report , during that time the goods which have been picked will be in the Scheduled for delivery .
    Now if the quality check fails for( final doc auidit ( ie for pallletization ) or some nails and packing is not done properaly ) it has to go for rework for the final doc auidit .
    If the quantity is rejected and gone for rework.    i will have to delete the delivery document  and create a fresh delivery doccument .
    because only if i delete the delivery document  what ever the quanity is there in the Scheduled for delivery will be  moved backed to the Bonded store .
    and then only it is possible for the goods to be picked and send for QC and after QC pass  PGI will be done
    My problem is  is there any connection can be done from the deleted delivery document and the fresh delivery document
    so that
    i can able to track the inspection lot  generated in the both the deliveries   i.e ( the deleted one and the fresh delivery document for which the PGI is done )
    Based on this i can create a  zreport for the QCheck  , becasue the client wants to  have  a link between the inspection lots generated between the two delivery documents and based on that they wanted to track the inspection lot

    regarding  the link between two  delivery documents , as you are deleting the delivery the delivery document  is not there in any table so you wont get the link even in the document flow table. or delivery table .
    So its not feasible to generate link.
    I would suggest a different approach ,pl investigate more before you go ahead,
    You can have   seperate storage locations one with internal QC ,Other FG store and third final dispatch or BSR store.
    When material is transferred from production to quallity store a inspection lot is generated .once it is cleared QM will have stocks in FG store .Materials in FG store should be availble for final audit and only material which is approved in all respects in transferred to BSR store from where it is immediately dispatched. so QM and other departments can always access the stock in QM for internal inspection , rework an dfinal dispatch through store location instead of delivery tracking.

    In inspection lot generated for 01 insp type purchase order, the inspection lot stock tab is missing.
    Is there any control ?

    No.
    The inspection lot stock tab is not cotrolled by user in standard, but fields possible by configuration.
    If there is no inspection lot stock tab, it means the inspection lot has no stock even if insp. type '01'.
    As YOGINI mentioned already, it must be source inspection or GR with other account assignment (not stock).

  • Process order batch number not reflecting in corresponding inspection lot

    Hi QM gurus,
    I am working on inprocess inspection for production. I am creating process order during that time batch no is generated automatically by the system. Now process order is released during this time Inspection lot generated with inspection type 03. Now the problem is in the inspection lot, process order batch number is not reflecting. I have checked all the master data seetings. All seems to be fine. what could be the problem. any settings missed can anybody help me out.

    Hi Vinameath,
    Go to the Master Recipe (C202) of this Process order/Material. Go to Recipe Header tab and click on the Quality Management Header button.
    Now,go to the Partial Lot Assign field and maintain the value " 0 Partial Lots not supported " and save.
    Then create a new process order and in all probabilities, the batch should appear on the in-process inspection lot.

    Pain Area - whenevr Process order get release 03 inporcess inspection lot generates and after Process order get confrimed
    O4 inspection lot generates , Evry time we use to process 04 Inpsection lot and then stock posted from Quality to Unrestrcted and finally , urestricted stock goes to market . NOw 03 inpsection lot remains in Created status , system not restriced for 04 activity i.e stock posting . So I want to restrict stock posting of 04 inspection lot  if 03 inpsection lot doesnt have UD status .

    Do you want to put a hard error when UD is taken for O4 lots, if the corresponsding SF lot is not released? This will stop users releasing the 04 lots and personally I am not in favor of writing a piece of code in User exit at UD and stiop the release of a Finished Batch.
    I have worked on similar requirement where users used to check manually the SF batch - UD prior to release a Finished Lot. to reduce the manual work and data transpose errors, we have used a calculated char. SF batch released? and assigned it in the finished product inspection paln.
    We copied the standard FM - QEFC_FORMULA_CALC_EXAMPLE and written a logic to look the consumed SF batch is released or not .The Function Module is assigned to a Calculated Characteristic u2013 the user will then be able to Calculate the characteristic during Results Recording of a batch of Finished Product to determine the Release Status of the issued batch of Semi-Finished material, as opposed to having to look it up manually.  We looked at the Q-score to decide a SF batch is released , rejected or UD not taken. The Function Module used the name of the Master Inspection Characteristic (MIC) and the Material Type of the Inspection Lot to determine the Inspection Lot Q-Score to return.
    With this set up you will not issue a hard error at the time of UD for Finsihed batch at the same time users will know the SF batch status when the results were recorded for Finished batch.
    If your requirement is a Hard error, simply go for the user exit suggested and write a logic to look for the Semi Finished Batch consumed.

    I develop a program to copy an inspection lot and generate another lot with the same data.
    Generate the new inspection lot is OK but when the initial inspection lot has an unplanned characteristic, the inspection lot generated does not have this unplanned characteristic.

    when an inspection lot is genertated upon good receipt is ther anyway were i can create a notification to the concerned user for inspecting the lot.secondly if ihave 50 inspection lots generated in a day dou have any option through which i can assign the ispection lots to the concerned users or Quality inspectors.

    1) Alert Management is an SAP function. You will need an ABAPer to develop this functionality. You can either specify that alert should trigger to these many people or it can be particular role based so that alert to goes only to those persons who has those roles.

    2) What you mean assigning inspection lot to an inspector? What is the exact requirment ? Normaly who is doing the result recording is taken as the inspector. If you use inspection point you can record who was the inspector

  • Three Physical Samples withdraw from inspection lot 04  and then result record for all three

    Dear Gurus,
    We have 3 quality labs and each lab is sent a separate samples to inspect certain characteristics once we receive material from production. I have created an inspection plan and mapped these three labs as  work center in operation and then assigned MICs under each operation to inspect.
    Now my issue is how to map separate 3 samples to inspection lot generated from production  ( type-4) and also how to configure that to inspection plan.
    I have to result record for all these three physical sample as withdrawn from Lot based upon inspection plan as mentioned above.
    I can mention sample drawing procedure in inspection plan but how to map actual sample there.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Satish
    You are creating three operation for depicting three testing Labs.
    Against each lab (operation) you had assigned MICs as per your requirement.
    Now you have to assign a SDP along with inspection point type 200 for physical sample in task list.
    After prod confirmation system will create inspection lot along with a sample by default for 1st operation.
    For other operations you have to create samples manually referring the same inspection lot (QPR6).Remember to click ' Create Insp points' and mention operation.
    Release the samples in QPR4.
    Now when you go for result recording system would ask first for operation, so select the operation , then system will ask for insp point (sample no).There click on assign insp point , so system will provide the Sample no which were created in QPR6 for that particular operation.
    Please follow the steps and revert.

    We are using inspection lot origin 06 for customer returns. However 06 doesn't allow you to post stock. The quality team wants to post the stock to unrestricted or scrap or blocked as per the inspection result. If we use inspection lot origin 05 then we are able to post stock for the inspection lot generated while transferring the stock form returns to quality. Now the problem is for prodn GR that is for FG we r using 05 for the same material. So there is a clash as inspection characteristics for FG and customer return is different but usage is becoming same-5. That's we are trying to create a new movement type 957 by copying 457 but we are unable to create and assign inspection lot origin to it.
