QTVR and QTX ?

I rencently experience with old QTVR movies and notice that it was not supproted by QuickTime X (as i have an old QT 7.0 i didn't notice yet).
I have old QTVR movies and need to share them on a web site, is there any solution ?
Actually i just used QuickTime JavaScript and it works only if QT7 is installed.
Is there any solution to convert those movie to another QTVR format that will be "standard" ?

The just re-chck with a MacBookAir (10.7.8) and it works... I do not understand, my first tests this week-end do nt works...
Safari indicate QuickTime plug-in 7.7 !?
The page i test :
<http://clarus.chez-alice.fr/beta/c_applemultimedia.html>
There is 2 QTVR movies ("Moof Brau" and "Clarus goes VR").
I can't test with 10.8.

  • Error 2048 (qtvr and .mov)

    First, hello and thanks for any answers.
    Second, in before "download VLC"
    Using QT 7.6.4 and i am unable to view qtvr files from websites as well as any .mov i have on my pc. When attempting to view a .mov on my pc, i get error 2048 and neither IE nor firefox, (or Safari for that matter) will play qtvr files on websites. Combed through plenty of posts regarding this issue to no avail. Tried a simple uninstall and reinstall, changed file associations and reset them. What am i missing.
    OS is Vista sp2
    Thanks again and sorry if this was already addressed.

    I (and another people, see this thread - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2153482&tstart=0) seem to be having a similar problem. The only advice I got was to wait for a new update to QuickTime, but some people in the thread I posted a link to gave some suggestions that may help you.

  • QTVR and videos not associated with YouTube or Vimeo

    This is definitely something Adobe needs to address. I'm doing realtor sites in Muse and they absolutely need to have QTVR.
    I'm also doing my own portfolio site and I need to embed a .mov QTVR file, but have not been unsuccessful. Also, the .mov file does not show up in YouTube correctly because it is only showing a portion of it. There fore it is not an option to place in youtube.
    Please hurry with this feature!

    I had seen that support document previously, and had done each of those suggestions except rebuilding my itunes library, as the YouTube issue makes me believe that the problem is not with my library, but accessing my iTunes account from the appletv. I still think that it could be the Ports etc.
    I had not enabled Web Sharing - I just did..
    Originally, I did not remove my old Apple TV from iTunes, but in a subsequent reinstall (factory reset of Apple TV, and removal of AppleTV from itunes) I did do that prior to installing.
    I did not say I could purchase from ITMS, I did say that I could view movie trailers - I don't know if that means I can purchase content. I guess I could try - I didn't want to spend $ on a diagnostic effort - but at this point it's not a big deal I guess.

  • QTVR and 64-Bit Vista

    My company uses QTVR files extensively in our projects. We recently started buying new workstations with 64-bit Vista. Now none of our QTVR files can be viewed on the new workstations. Apparently this is a known problem and Apple has not addressed it. 7.6 came out today and guess what, it still doesn't work. Come on Apple when is this going to be addressed?
    I'm a Mac fan and have them at home. I would love to get Macs into the office, but when things like this happen its hard to make that recommendation.

    I Agree!

  • QT7 Pro - QTVR and Flash - Repeat question

    Within Flash I create a user interface for my QTVR realty tours.
    I export as a flat QTVR file.
    Then within QT PRo 6 I am able to select the Flash Track layer properties (MOVIE - GET MOVIE PROPERTIES) and deselect the MOUSE CAPTURE ENABLED checkbox. This allows the VR to 'spin' properly.
    I have asked this question before and I have heard nothing back from Apple so here it goes again:
    I could not use the same workflow I used with QT Pro 6 (as above) with QT Pro 7 - I tried it back in May 2005. Has anything changed since then?
    Has this Flash Track property been reestablished in any upgrades?
    I thought that I had asked Apple - a long time ago - they said they would answer the question - but I have heard SQUAT!
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Peter.

    The ability to edit the "mouse capture" properties has been removed from QT version 7. It is still available in version 6.5.2 (Movie Properties window).
    I've installed version 7 of QT and use it with an older (previously hidden) copy of QT 6.5.2 Pro. I'm still able to remove the check mark from the movie properties on these files.
    To install both version of QT Pro on the same OS you need to "hide" the older QT Player app prior to the upgrade. I just added 6.5.2 to the app name (Applications folder) and now can use both versions (and both different movie properties windows) during my work.

  • QTVR and Javascript interaction

    I am developing a piece of training courseware which shows a 'start-up' procedure involving several panels / displays, and is being produced using HTML, Javascript and Quicktime VR. This is to be run 'client-side', i.e. on a local machine, no server technology is being used. The layout consists of a HTML page with a quicktime VR movie, which has 4 hotspots. Each hotspot links to a particular panel shown on a new HTML page.
    For example, select hotspot "1" and jump to page "A", complete some process and return to the VR to select hotspot "2", jumping to page "B" to carry out further actions, then returning to the VR, and so on.
    The VR and hotspots are set up using the code below:-
    <script type="text/javascript">
    QTWriteOBJECTXHTML('Media/VR/SCO013VR.MOV', '600', '282', '',
    'autoplay', 'true',
    'align', 'middle',
    'EnableJavaScript', 'true',
    'controller', 'true',
    'showlogo', 'false',
    //Hotspot for Hand Controller.....//
    'Hotspot13', '../../CTS253_PMS_00_Sco013.6_Cde001V01.htm',
    //Hotspot for Drivers Master Display.....//
    'Hotspot59', '../../CTS253_PMS_00_Sco013.3_Cde001V01.htm',
    //Hotspot for Central Control Panel.....//
    'Hotspot66', '../../CTS253_PMS_00_Sco013.2_Cde001V01.htm',
    //Hotspot for Drivers Slave Display.....//
    'Hotspot172', '../../CTS253_PMS_00_Sco013.4_Cde001V01.htm');
    </script>
    All hotspots are to be available all the time, BUT must be selected in the required order. Selection in the wrong sequence will NOT result in jumping to the relevant page, but will remain on the VR display and provide some feedback text onscreen, re. the incorrect choice of panel.
    My problem is that I cannot find a way to "override" the hotspot links set up in the code above. Ideally I need to intercept the selection and carry out some function to check if it is the correct selection at that particular time, hence determine if the new page should be shown, or remain on the current page and just display the feedback text.
    I have searched on many sites and found the following in a pdf from Apples site, which suggests that this can't be done (at least not with Javascript):-
    "Important: Starting with QuickTime 7.1.5, you can no longer issue javascript:// URLs or call JavaScript functions from within a QuickTime movie. This feature was removed from QuickTime for security reasons."
    Can anyone suggest any ways around this?
    Cheers,
    Andy

    The latest QuickTime update kills it though. I'm not sure if there is a workaround, but have you joined the QuickTime developer list? You may find interesting threads there.

  • Keynote and QTVR

    Maybe, I'm stupid, but I can't understand why keynote can't stand QTVR files... From Apple!!!
    So, I have to show a project (a building) and of course I have some slides to show plans and sections, materials and so on... At the end (as the famous words 'One more things...') I would to show a qtvr project to navigate the building...
    At the moment I use iWeb and PanoTourPro from Kolor... But I become crazy if I think that Keynote and qtvr are both from Apple...
    Could you help me, please?
    Thank you
    Lucio Liberi, Mac user since 1984
    PS iBook doesn't read qtvr files too...

    I had been using Powerpoint V.x because it would handle all our scientific QTVR very nicely - but PP V.x no longer runs (under 10.5.x) so I've been "forced" to upgrade to Office 2008. While Powerpoint 2008 can display a QTVR and allow some interactive control, I can no longer Zoom (in or out). So, without Keynote support for QTVR I'm really out of luck ... PLEASE bring full QTVR support to Keynote!

  • Quicktime VR for Mac and Windows

    I am getting ready to do a major update to a QTVR object movie via Macromedia Director for an important client. The client only uses Windows XP and Windows 7 on their machines.
    I will do all development on Mac Lion 10.7.2 etc (see below)
    Is this a good idea to stick with QTVR for now? For a year? Longer?
    To switch now to an alternative to QTVR is way beyond the client's budget, so I would have to shoulder the costs at a loss...
    Thanks for your advice.

    Ah, yes. I see that Adobe are now calling it Adobe Director. For years after the purchase it was still called Macromedia Director, though.
    Based on the nightmare that I see for Director under Lion (fonts, etc) in other forums, there is no way we will continue to invest in QTVR and Director at this point.
    I am looking at Pano2VR and Object2VR by Garden Gnome software now. They seem pretty good, and also have some support for iPhone and iPad.

  • QTVRs in Keynote 3

    Has anyone tried QTVRs in Keynote 3 to see if there is any interactivity?
    Ian

    Brian, thanks for the info. I downloaded the iWork 06 manual and took quick look at the index. It did appear to support bringing in movies, along with scrubbing options, but nothing about being able to control the movies/QTVR/Flash file during the presentation.
    The lack of turning a fine and stunning presentation into something one can teach from (read: interactive QTVR and Flash) is a total mystery to me. We can export to Flash or QT, but the other way 'round is just not there yet.

  • Why is there no QTVR/Pro support in QuickTime X

    Can anybody tell me why is there no QTVR and QuickTime Pro support and in QuickTime X, and does this mean QuickTime 7 pro and QTVR features will no-longer be updated so they will be eventually dropped by Apple?

    QuickTime X is only found on Snow Leopard machines. No Windows version. Not supported on older Mac OS's.
    X currently doesn't support QTVR. Only Apple knows what the future holds.
    Only QuickTime Player can be upgraded to Pro. QuickTime X has no "user defined" settings.

  • Where is the QTVR support?

    I have Keynote 08 (4.03) and trying to integrate my QTVR files into my presentation as I do in Powerpoint. These are 3D renderings through which I move by dragging the pointer on the image during the presentation and discussions to show different areas of interest in the model. Somehow in Keynote I can not interact with the Qicktime VR files. Could it be that Keynote does not support a key Apple technology? I would be stuck with Powerpoint if this is the case. Any plugins which would compensate for this?

  • QuickTime VR and .Mac

    Is it possible to store QuickTime VR movies on my .Mac iDisk and call them up to display on my Blogspot page?
    I've seen the very simple embed tags for QuickTime VR, but those who have done it, on remote sites, have had their QTVR files hosted somewhere other than .Mac
    Any information would be help, even if someone knows where to store these movies outside of .Mac
    There are no storage options from sites like Flickr or YouTube. They don't accept the file type.

  • Snow Leopard and Final Cut Studio 3 on a clean system disk - no Pro QT

    I have installed Snow Leopard on a clean system disk, together with a Final Cut 7 install. I choosed to install both QTX and QT7.
    But, for some reason, I no longer have the Pro versions of QT7 and QTX. I'd like to be able to export to different file formats.
    Back in FCS 3, you got the Pro enabled when installing the suite. How can I find a legal registration code for my QT7 and QTX (I guess I could use the same code for both apps)?

    When installing FCS 3, Quicktime Pro will enable for Qt 7. There's nothing to click or box the check, it's part of the installation of FCS 3. There's no Qt Pro for OSX. Open Qt7 and in it's menu click About Quicktime, the should be a small logo next to the large Qt logo that says Pro. Also in the export window for Qt he export and save menu should not be grayed out.
    (When FCS 3 is install there's not registration code for Qt Pro. In the registration code box were you put the registration code for Qt Pro is the word Automatic were the code should be.)

  • Hotspots on QTVR

    I have just discovered QTVR and can see what a great tool it would be for in-house training in our company. Can I take a .MOV created with another program and edit it with Quicktime Pro in order to add hotspots to it? Do these hotspots have to be used within a web page or can I make CD with all the linked information on it for distribution.

    QuickTime Pro doesn't (can't) create QTVR files.
    You'll need some third party software to create them.

  • What is the difference between quicktime 7 pro and quicktime x

    What is the difference between quicktime 7 pro and quicktime x

    QuickTime Pro 7 is a very useful video tool.  You can make simple edits to video files, cut-n-paste multiple video files together into one, save the video or transcode it into a variety of common video formats, use it to analyze a video to see which codec it's in, and even play videos in professional settings.
    QuickTime X is completely useless.
    With QT X and Final Cut X, Apple has completely abandoned the professional video market.  Both of these software packages are dumbed down for Windows users, and are intentionally designed to anger and alienate the professional user that has come to rely on Apple software for their video needs over the last 20 years.  Final Cut X is really just iMoviePro. If I wanted iMovie, I'd use iMovie, but I need a professional video app, not a kiddie video app.  Therefore I can not use FCPX.
    I have work to do, under strict deadlines and budget limits.  FCPX and QTX actively prevent me from getting any work done at all.  Apple has left me no choice.  I have to go back to Adobe Premiere or Avid Media Composer since these are still professional applications.  Final Cut and QuickTime have been turned into kiddie-style iMovie-like apps that have no functionality whatsoever.
    Apple is heading in a very disappointing direction.  They have a history of cutting off legacy items without notice.  They have decided that optical media is over and everything is online.  But my clients don't have that luxury.  I still have to deliver products on DVD and increasingly Blu-Ray.  Apple's obstinate refusal to support Blu-Ray has cost me clients, and I've had to resort to third-party software and hardware.
    Apple has abandoned the professional video market.
