Qualified Disks for px-Series Devices

Note: The following information pertains only to px-Series network devices. If you have any other StorCenter network device, including ix-Series devices, this does not apply to you.
Before adding new hard drives to your StorCenter px-Series network device, please be sure to familiarize yourself with the following information. If you still have any additional questions about this topic, feel free to post them below.
Supported Drives:
For the current list of drive brands and models that have been tested with the StorCenter px devices and are supported for use, please visit https://iomega-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26012. Our approved hard drive list is still growing! Please check back with the list often or subscribe for updates by clicking on the "Notify Me" button on the above link.
Important: All disks within a single storage pool must meet the following requirements:
Same manufacturer
Same rotational speed
Same capacity
Failure to meet these requirements may result in unpredictable device behavior and will not be supported by Iomega. If you need technical assistance, please be prepared to backup your data and remove any unsupported drives or configurations.
Pre-Installed Drives:
If you purchased your px device either fully or partially populated with drives, the device’s operating system resides partially on the drives. To replace all of the drives from the original configuration, follow the steps here: https://iomega-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27190

What model px4 do you have? Version 4.0.8.23976 is the latest LifeLine firmware release for the px2-300d and px4-300d network storage devices while Version 4.1.4.24001 is the latest for the px4-400d.
There is not any supported way to disable or restrict the services you are referring to. Debian is the operating system of the device so it would not be able to disable that unless by turning the device off.
Apache is the web interface of our devices so if you disable Apache you will not be able to access the web management console and would have to do any configuration by SSH at that point. It might be able to disable Apache if you really wanted to, but the device may just restart the service after disabling it as it is a main function of the device.
I'm not sure about OpenSSL and PHP, but if you are concerned about the Heartbleed bug, it only affects the px4-400d and px4-400r. Please see the following release from Lenovo: OpenSSL Heartbleed security vulnerability

  • Can any one suggest me how to use drawPixels method for 40 series devices

    Hello!
I am using drawPixels method of DirectGraphics class the code I have written is :-
Image offscreen=DirectUtils.createImage(width,height,0x00000000);// width and heights are integer value
    public final int MODEL=DirectGraphics.TYPE_INT_8888_ARGB ;
    Graphics offgra = offscreen.getGraphics();
    DirectGraphics directgraphics = DirectUtils.getDirectGraphics(offgra);
directgraphics.drawPixels(imgData,false,0,width,0,0,width,height,0,MODEL); // imgData is a int array(int imgData[]) which contains required pixels of image.
The above code is working fine with NOKIA 60 series device but when i use it with NOKIA 40 series device it gives java.lang.IllegalArgumentException.
same time if i use :-
    directgraphics.drawPixels(imgData,false,0,width,0,0,width,height,0,DirectGraphics .TYPE_USHORT_4444_ARGB ) ;
// imgData is a short array(short imgData[]) which contains required pixels of image. i have used different formet here.
it works fine with 40 series device,
can any one suggest me how to use drawPixels method for 40 series devices with format
    DirectGraphics .TYPE_INT_8888_ARGB .

If Remote wipe is activated it can't be undone. And Once the Wipe is done, the device can nö longer be tracked.
    Sorry.

  • SCB-68 Reference Label for M series devices

What's the difference between the SCB-68 Reference Label M series devices connector 0 and connector 1? I'm installing a NI PCI-6221-M series Multifunction DAQ and the SCB-68 connector block, and I don't know how to make the physical connections. With the SCB-68 kit, I received the Reference Label for the E-series devices. In the NI site, there is info about the connector 0, but what is the connector 0 and connector 1?
    Thanks,
    ZeK

Good question Zek. The M series family uses a smaller version of the 68-pin connector used on E series so that two connectors can be located on the same board. The second connector is available on certain M seriies boards in order to provide connectivity to additional channels. In the case of the 6221, there is only one connector.
The 6221 is fully compatible with the SCB-68. The following link provides a revised version of the SCB-68 label adapted for M Series devices:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/61ed77983ad7cca386256f66008215f1/$FILE/SCB68%20M%20Series%20Connector%200.pdf
For pinout specific to a particular M Series device, you can refer to the M series help available at either one of the following locations:

  • Maemo / MeeGo for N series devices?

    Hi,
is there a chance Nokia offers an update of N series devices like the N97 to Maemo / MeeGo? I think this would offer a whole new world of software to these devices. I am pretty sure one or the other engineer has already played with this idea in his lab

It's not possible and it won't happen ! I would think there is a good chance we may get a tiny overspill from Symbian^3, but that's the best you can hope for, the N97  has neither the memory or the processor speed to perform much better. More likely that memory management may be improved in later updates and would think there will be at least another 12 months support from Nokia, but that's about it. That said, it's only my opinion , but I wouldn't hold your breath !

    Sean,
I think the SHC68-68-EP is for E series. The SHC68-68-EPM is for M
    series (VHDCI connector).
I simply need a short length of bare ribbon cable so I can attach it

not been able to locate ribbon cable with this 0.8 mm wire spacing.

When will nokia develop new firmware with demand paging for e-series devices like e61i, e65 and e90 ? we already know that n95 has demand paging. Even n73 has it in the latest firmware. This had sped up n73 tremendously (note: n73 is older than most e-series & it does not have wifi)
    so my question is :
    1) is demand paging exclusive for n-series ?
    2) will future versions of firmware for e-series devices have
    demand paging ?
    3) will there be new versions of firmware for e-series devices as
fast as nokia has developed new firmware for n-series
almost every 3-6 months for each n-series model.

    Jaakko Kaidesoja
N-Gage boss: 'We're not scared of the PlayStation phone'
N73 will be one of the mobiles supporting the new n-gage platfrom
    http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/N-Gage/N-Gage+(next+gen+platform)/news.asp?c=5917
The N82 and both N95 handsets will be next in line for the commercial launch, but bad news N73 owners: you're going to have to wait a while.
"We promised the N73 earlier, but we found some memory issues, as it has a lower memory spec than other devices," says Kaidesoja. "That gives some headaches, but we'll deal with that, and will release for the device during the second quarter."
so clearly from here we can understand that something drastic is going to be done to the n73 yet again... to support the new n-gage platfrom and improve its performace.... why these improvements are never made to the e-series ?
PS : can anyone enlighten me on the processor specs for both n73 and e61i...

  • Desktop Manager asks for "insert BB device software updater disk"

When open DM (v 5.0) a message "insert BB device software updater disk" for a file named "ApploaderWebSL-Upgrade[1].msi". I cant find it....help needed....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

OK. Can you uninstall 5.0 first. Next download and save the DM 5.0 exe file somewhere on your computer. Instead of double-clicking the file to install it, first extract the contents of the file to a folder on your computer. You can use any zipping program (i.e.. Winzip, Winrar, 7-zip) to right click the EXE file and choose Extract To. On my computer I created a folder called "Desktop Manager" and extracted all of the contents into that. Now you can go into the folder that contains the extracted contents and run the "BlackBerrySetup.exe" file to install the software.
If you just double click on the EXE file then the software extracts all required files to a temporary folder on your computer. After the installation is complete then the temporary files get deleted. So the main benefit to doing it above is that all of the installation files will always be located in a folder on your computer. So if you ever have to reinstall, repair, or find an MSI file that the program needs you don't have to download the software again.
Let me know if that works out.

  • VMS 2.3 Device package for 3800 Series

    hi
We are having VMS 2.3 installed which is not able to monitor or to perform any operations on 3800 series routers.
How we can add device pack for 3800 series routers ?
And from where to download the pack ?

The device pack is available for download on Cisco.com and you can get it if you have correct licence. After downloading the pack stop the cisco works deamon manager service and and apply the pack.

  • Will ni-daq drivers for an E-series device work under WinXP?

I now use them to program the device using Visual C++ under win 98.

    Hello
NI-DAQ 6.9.3 does provide support for XP and 98, so you most certainly can use it in XP with an E-series device.

  • My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested.  How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.
    Peace,
    P. Dreadie

  • Error while scanning for Serial-ATA devices.

There was an error while scanning for Serial-ATA devices. I'm not sure how to trouble shoot this. I believe a secondary drive in bay 2 died.

I also have just began to hit this issue.
I have 4 2T enterprise class WD drives in a raid 1+0 (or was it 0+1) config.
    Device Model: WDC WD2002FYPS-01U1B1
One disk (disk0 in bay 2) keeps disappearing. Completely. /dev/disk0 and /dev/rdisk0 vanish.
If I look at "about this mac" / "More Info" / "Serial-ATA" I get the "error while scanning ...".
If I reboot, the offending disc comes back and the raid volumes start rebuilding.
The SMART status is (reported to be) fine.
I use the 'smartmon' tools and look at the extended SMART status and the values of the counters all looks the same as the other drives. I can run an extended offline test, which takes forever to execute. disk 1 and 3 eventually finish with success (it writes this status into a SMART log area on the disc).
Disk 2 and 0 take longer. I image this is because 2 is being read to resilver 0. Currently, I am running with disk0 absent again, and disk 2s test did not complete. It claims it was aborted by the host, so I imagine the one on disk0 will claim the same after I reboot.
My system is under extended AppleCare until 16 Jan 2011, so if I can determine that this is a disc controller error, I can get it fixed. The drives have a 5 year warrantee, and are less than 1yr old, so they are covered. I just need to figure out what the issue is.
I will now reboot and recover disk0 and see if perhaps there is anything recorded in the SMART log.
There is nothing in kernel.log specific to disk0. I include the log extract here for posterity. The "speed" volume is not raid 0+1, just striped, which is why it gets aborted.
