Qualified table entry

Hi Experts!
I am trying to create a design in which there is one Independent field and 7 dependent field using Qualified tablein MDM.
In ECC though,Only valid entries are allowed for one corresponding selection of NQ.
But in MDM i can create any value without any issue.SO my question is how will my system know that for one entry of NQ only particular entries of other fields are allowed.
Pls guide!
Thanks,
Ravz

Hi,
As validation is not possible on qualified tables.
If you really want to put validation entries then use table for qualifiers so that you can put onlt that valkue that defined in that table.

  • Issue creating qualified tables in MDM 5.5 SP04 Console

    Try the following:
    1) Make sure you are using SP04 Patch 1 (Build 5.5.33.13)
    2) Unarchieve one of the supplied business content repositories (Eg. Customer, Material, etc).
    3) Create a flat lookup table
    4) Create a qualified table with only one field: Field type lookup flat referencing the flat lookup table created in step 3, non-qualifier, display field.
    5) Create a new field in main table, type qualified multi-value, referencing the qualified table created in step 4.
    6) Load the repository
    7) Login to repository with data manager
    8) Create 1 entry in lookup table created in step 3
    9) Create 1 entry in main table, also creating 1 sub-entry in qualified table, save the record with SHIFT-ENTER
    10) Make sure the record was saved, including qualified table entry
    11) Close data manager
    12) Open data manager again
    13) Select your record and try to go in to the qualified sub-entry
    In my case this produces data manager to crash.
    This does not happen for qualified tables created in SP03 and updated to SP04, only for tables created directly in the SP04 console.
    Please let me know if everybody is having the same problem.

    Hi, Jorge,
    I have MDM5.5 SP4 P1 HF1 and followed your steps (except in step 4 (THANK YOU for numbering them), I have more than one field.) At step 13, I selected my record and to my amazement the record was there but my qualified table data was gone. And I then performed your step 14, and opened the qualified lookup table, and again to my amazement the console crashed.
    This definitely appears to be a bug and you should report it. I will also see if I can ask around for other solutions.

  • Loading data : Creation of entries in the Qualified Table

    Hi,
    I was wondering if anyone has succesfully achieved the following...
    I'm looking at the standard materials repository.
    - Main Table : Product
    - Qualified Table: Location Data. This qualified table single non-qualifier field is a look-up to a flat look-up table, called Plants
    The flat table is populated with the valid list of plants, using the check table synchronisation. The Main Table is empty, so is the Location Table.
    In order to load products into this repository using the import manager it seems that it is required to "create" entries in the qualified table (Location), one for each plant-code.
    Is this true ? I actually would expect the SAP MDM Import Manager client to be able to create the records in both the main table and if needed, the qualified table.  As long as my plant code exists in the "Plants" look-up table, that should be sufficient. It seems not the case..
    Thx,
    Dirk

    The sequence of Import
    - Load the Flat Lookup tables. ( in your case Plants)
    - Load the Qualified Tables ( in your case load the non qualifiers of the Location Data)
    - Load the Main table (in your case Products)
    Though MDM allows you to create Lookup values on the fly, I would rather go with this approach.
    If you are using Import Manager, you can add the Qualified Table Records in the fly.
    But if you are using Import Server, you will NOT be able to add Qualified table records in the fly. I tested this, and I see the files in the ImportX error directory.

  • Uniqueness in Qualified tables

    Dear MDM experts,
    I have this requirement wherein we have a qualified table wherein the user shouldnt enter duplicate entries.
    e.g. in the case of customer master data,the user may have only 1 qualified table record per company code. (can have differnt company codes)
    I have set Company code as an NON QUALIFIER but it does not enforce any kind of uniqueness.
    <h5>Is it possible using qualified tables to have such an enforcement ?
    </h5>
    Also as an alternate can I write a validation rule such that it will allow me to enter data in the qualified table only once per company code.
    Thanks.

    yes this will work in the case only, if you have your customer name as a master table field. Try this:
    1. Customer Name and qualified are two fields in Main table.
    2. In QT you have Comp_Code as unique Field as non qualifier and other data like company_name, Loc as non Qualifier or what ever you want.
    then DM allow you to enter same company code for two different records.
    now this is also possible that a person may have worked in 2 different organizations then you can put 2 records in QT and you can select them for a single customer.

  • What is qualifier table and where exactly we will use that

    Hi experts,
      I have one query regarding qualifier table. where exactly we use qualifier table. can u give me any realtime situation where we use qualifier table.
    Regards
    Ravikumar

    Hi Ravikumar,
    A qualified table is a special kind of lookup table. It can be used to efficiently store complex relationships between a main table record and one or more lookup table records that contain various types of additional information.
    Go Through Important Links
    /people/pooja.khandelwal2/blog/2006/03/29/taming-the-animal--qualified-tables
    /people/community.user/blog/2006/12/20/so-is-that-the-qualifier-or-the-non-qualifier
    A qualified table stores a set of lookup records, and also supports qualifiers, database u201Csubfieldsu201D that apply not to the qualified table record by itself, but rather to each association of a qualified table record with a main table record.
    Qualified lookup tables are used to store the values of Two types of fields Qualifiers and non Qualifiers.
    Qualifiers are the fields whoes values changes based on the values of other fields called Non Qualifiers.And are associated with the main Table Records.
    Non Qualifiers are only part of Qualified lookup Tables.
    In Data Manager QualifiedLookUp Tables appear in the lower right Part.
    For example in your main table supoose you have an Employee Repository that maintains employee information (Name,Telephone,Address etc).One employee can have sitting arrangement on different office locations.
    Then if Location is your main table field in that case for 10 places you have to make 10 seperate entries of One Employee name with different locations,that will unnecessarily increase the records of your main table and also duplicate for Employee name field as well.
    To resolve this make a look up field location in main table for qualified lookUp Table Locations.
    In Locations table create a Non Qualifier field OfficeADD(lookup flat )for Officelocation table .
    And create two more fields DeskNo. and Telephone No.(both as qualifiers)for every location the desk no. and telephone no. will be different.
    In Officelocation table has one field Name which contains address of diffrent locations.
    Now according to the Qualifier and Non Qualifier concept
    In main table for an Employee say Ravindra you can go qualifiedLookUp table and select a value for OfficeADD(a non qualifier) and set valus for Desk no. and telephone no.(Qualifiers) as well.
    Reward if Helpful.

  • How to remove qualified lookup entries

    Hi All,
    My scenario is as explained below:
    Main table: Customers
    Qualifeid lookup table: Customer_Brands
    Qualifer: Form_action (this is a Lookup field and the lookup table is Form_Action)
    Form Action table has an entries called "CR" and "MO"
    What I need to do:- There is a set of customers with form action value as CR. I need to remove this value (essentially make it null) for all those customers using MDM Java API.
    So the question in short is how to remove qualified lookup entries?
    NB: I am able to replace CR with MO and vice versa since these entries are in Form_Action table, but unable to remove these entries.
    Please give some inputs on this. Sample codes are appreciated.
    -Thanks,
    Padmarajan.

    Hi Adhappan,
    My code snippet to set the value is as below:
    A2iFields formFields = new A2iFields();
    A2iField intField = new A2iField("Form_Action");
    Value val = new Value(ValueType.ValueNull);
    intField.SetValue(vall);
    formFields.Add(intField);
    But the ValueType.ValueNull returns an integer (in my case 17) and the form action field of the customer gets set with the value at that row of the form action table once I execute a modify query.
    Please advice as to how to code it correctly.
    -Thanks,
    Padmarajan.

  • Qualified table field

    Hi all
    Can we able to enter the data in Qualified table field while creating the record in portal thru iView??
    if posssible please let me know how to do the same in portal, i mean which type of iview we need to use to achieve the same??
    Regards
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
    As mentioned above you need to use Item details iView and select the desired Qualified table fields which are part of your main table. Now select the Relationship and Qualifed Display Fields radio button. Here a seperate entry will be made for each lookup Qualified field (which is part of main table) which you have selected in the item details view.
    Now select a particular Qualified field radio button and select the EDIT button.
    Now you will be able to select all the desired Qualifiers and Non-qualifiers from the Available Columns.
    I have tried this scenerio at my end and its working fine.

  • Syndicating Selected Qualified Lookup Entries

    Hello all!
    Here is an issue we are working on. We would like to syndicate entries from a qualified lookup table for a particular customer, but only those where a certain qualifier has a specific value. For example:
    Qual Table:
    Non-Qual1; Non-Qual2; Qualifier.
    Entries:
    "AA", "123", "Yes"
    "BB", "123", "No"
    "CC", "456", "Yes"
    So, when I syndicate this customer record, I would only like to syndicate those entries where the Qualifer = "Yes".
    "Supress Unchanged Records" only works on the whole customer record and if the Search Criteria is set for "Qualifer = "YES", then it chooses the record (correctly), but syndicates all entries from the table.
    Thanks in advance!
    Don

    Try using
    <b>Filter Qualified Links</b> in the <b>Map Properties</b> of the Syndicator.
    If activated, syndication results contain only the data selected in the Selection Pane.
    Tick the check box under the Value Column for that property. By default that check box is not selected. You have to check it.
    This works similar to the 'Filter' check box of the MDM Data Manger.
    Limitation as of SP04
    - One Global setting per map for qualified links plus one global setting per map for multi-valued lookups.

  • Not able to see data in the qualifier table of the main tbl , Data Manager

    Hi,
    I have an issue of not able to see the data of two qualified table after populating them.
    It is in mdm-5.5 ps4.
    When populating data first time ,it shows up in those two table slots in the right side of the Data Manager.
    However subsequently it does not show up in those slots , only by right click on the table and selecting "View/edit", the window pops up where those data shows up.
    However unlike other qualified tables the data does not showup automatically for these two tables.
    Appreciate any suggestion or feedback on this.
    regards,
    -reo

    You may have checked the Filter Check Box next to the Qualified Lookup cell in Data Manager, when the current table is the Main Table.
    You use the Filter Checkbox to limit the qualified table records by the current search selections.
    Secondly, you have see if there are any Qualified Links to the main table record you are viewing.
    If not, create the Qualified links in Data manager, for the main table record and the Qualified Table Record.
    Once this is done, you will see the Display fields of the Qualified table for which the links exists for the given main table record.

  • Table entries not getting displayed in desired format

    Hi All,
    In my adobe layout I created a table . I used data format Align Right and align middle for the table entries. In the Output  some entries of the table are not displaying in align right and align middle.
    Output:In the below output the first row data is not in desired format .

    That is pretty to much information to help you.
    You need to share your technical setting. How did you create the table? Subforms, Table-assistent... what are the values in? Format, what happens when you also pass more than 1 digit to the numbers in the first row, does it show up correct?
    So please share more details and explain exact what you have tried to fix the issue. The community is able to help you, but not meant to suggest enaything you could have done.

  • Get Qualifier value from Qualified table

    Hi,
    I am trying to get all the qualifier value for a qualified table. What is the best way to do it. Can I use QualifierSearchDimension to search for all the qualifier value.
    Re: Lookup [Qualified Flat] type field how to use as a query condition? link gives us a way to do this , but it talk about getting the non - qualifiers only , so How can we get the qualifier values.
    The link Search Qualifier Fields : MDM Java APIs gives us a way to this , but it is using old Java API , does anyone know how to do it using MDM API SP06.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Subhasis

    Hi Subhasis,
    The Search API's will only search for a particular value in the qualified tables. In order to read all the qualifier and non qualifier for a record, please follow the below mentioned steps.
    Assuming 'rec' is the variable that holds the reference for the current record.
    MdmValue lookUpVal = rec.getFieldValuel(<Field Id of the field>);
    com.sap.mdm.valuetypes.QualifiedLookupValue val = (com.sap.mdm.valuetypes.QualifiedLookupValue) lookUpVal;
    // Get the total number of qualified records present for that field
    int size = val.getValuesCount();
    // Iterate through each qualified record to fetch the details
    for(int i=0;i<size;i++){
        MdmValue nqVal = val.getValue(i);
       if(nqVal != null){
             MdmValue incVal = val.getQualifierFieldValue(i,<Field Id of the qualifier field value>);

  • Right way to preserve all parent table entries in a join with many tables!!

    This problem is quite interesting to me. I have asked this question to others but no body is able to provide me with proper answers.
    The problem is: How do I join a huge parent table with many child tables (more than 5 child tables) preserving all of the parent table entries. Lets say there is the parent table parentTable and three child tables childTable1, childTable2, childTable3. In order to get the data after joining these tables the query that I have been using was:
    select parent.field1, parent.field2, parent.field3, child1.field4, child1.field5, child2.field6, child3.field7 from ParentTable parent, childTable1 child1, childTable1 child2, childTable3 child3 where parent.fielda = child1.fieldb and parent.fieldc = child.fieldd and parent.fielde = child.fieldf.
    Although the tables are huge (more than 100,000 entries), this query is very fast, however those parent table entries which do not have child entries are lost. I know that I can left join a parent table with a child table and then with the next child table and then with the next child table and continue. Isn't there a simple solution for this commonly happening problem?
    Please provide suggestions please...

    Hello Lakshmi,
    Although I do not know exactly how to achieve what you want to achieve but I have seen DBAs/ABAPers in my experience can run queries/scripts using the COUNT function to give the actual number of line items per table for all your 100 or odd tables.

    Hi Gurus,
    Can you please tell me Function module to HOLD lock on MARD table and the Function Module to release lock on MARD table entry.

    Look via SE11 lock objects, use F4 for tables MAR*, the best for your request is on MARC table with object EMMARCS, so use FM ENQUEUE_EMMARCS and DEQUEUE_EMMARCS.

  • Deletion of table entries(without maintenance view)  in production

    Hi Sap All.
    here i have got a task to change the data type of one particular field and to delete all the table entries of this table in production.
    so in Dev I have tired with z program saved in local object  (DELETE FROM Table).
    i just want to know how i can delete all the entries of table in production.
    regards.
    Varma

    Hello,
    You can also use transaction SE14.
    Start SE14
    Enter the table name
    Select the radio button "Delete data".
    Push the button "Activate and adjust database".
    This will drop your table in the DB and recreate it as well as all related indexes.
    Indexes are not impacted when you do a regular DELETE statement unless you rebuild your indexes.
    Of course you can only do this if data can be deleted for a specific table in ALL clients.

  • Not able to Populate Qualified Table in Import Manager

    Hi,
    I am performing following steps for populating Bank Detail Qualified table in MDM from R3 but not able to populate the data.
    1.Populating all lookup tables like Account_no,Bank-Key.......
    2.Mapping all fields in Bank detail table except the 'Collect Auth'
    field which is Qualifier
    3.In Customer table(Main) mapping  Collect auth to Bank Detail field and
    customer_no to its corresponding ID.
    It is not populating the Bank detail data which are available in lookup tables
    Appreciate your suggestion

    Reo
    Matching will be based on the Display field (at least one) of the Main table.  This is for example the Customer Number.
    You also need to map all the display fields of the qualified lookup table. Then you can set the Qualified Update Action by right clicking on the field in the main that is linked to the qualified lookup.(the Collection_Authorization I think). Set the option that well update/append/replace the qualified data fields of the looked table.
    There is two how_to_guides that will help. You can download from SAP Service Market Place. (Otherwise I can email to you)
