Quality Inspection before Production

Hi All,
We are using Production resource tools(PRT) in Production Order. We want to do the quality inspection of the PRT before one day of Production.
How can we map the following scenario so that Quality check can be done for PRT before Production??
Thanks,
Sanjay

Dear
1) Create Equipment under the category Test Equipment (Q)
2) Go to inspection plan and assign the PRT in the opertion overview. When you click on PRT normaly it will ask for material, you can choose equipment and then add the Equipment there. You can assign multiple PRTs
3) In inspection characteristic - make sure that Test Equip is ticked in the control indicator of the mic
4) In inspection charactertistic overview for each mic you can select and the PRTs maintained in the operation view is visible here and you select the one which is require

  • Stock Type X Quality Inspection in Production Orders

    Hello,
I have the material 123EDFXXX that the Production order has set the Stock Type =X (Quality Inspection)...
We don´t know how was that set!! since that material has not active the QM Views in the material master.
There is another master data (prod version, route) or something else that is coping that value??

    Hi Marco,
1.Pl check if QM was active before the creation of order. If so you need to delete all Material and accounting documents
    2. Check in the work scheduling view in material master if the inspection stock is active box is active.then this could be the reason.

  • Quality inspection before goods are issued

    Dear friends,
We have got requirement that before Goods are issued all materials shall undergo Quality inspection and then materials are issued.
How to map it in SAP.
    Please suggest
    Regards
    Canand

    Hi,
you have not made it clear that you want through QM or in the framework of Inventory management.
for the material in QM, you need to active QM view for that material and define the quality parameters for the material accepatance or rejection.
if through inventory management, you can select the stock type Quality inspection at the time of PO or Migo.

  • Inspection during production

    Hi All,
Please clarify  my doubt on Quality inspection during production.
We are using inspection type - "04 - Goods receipt inspection from production" for inspection during production.
Once after inspection if we reject a sub assembly for rework and move the part to block stock, we raise a notification to the concern department.
Now after production does a rework, how can we receive the sub assembly back to unrestricted used through Quality route and reflect the same in my notification.
If there is some other standard process of inspection during production and rework then please throw some light on it.
    Thanks & Regds,
    Ritesh

    QM>Qualty Notif.>Notif. processing>Additional notif. Functions>Define Action Box
In the next pop-up screen select Define functions for the Action box
To research this I would look at notification Q1.  Select Q1.  Double Click on Activities.
Double click on 0035 - post goods movement.
you will see this action uses FM QM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT_2.  It is configured to run a second module upon saving called QM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT_STEP2.
Click on the blue information button to read more about these FM's.
Copy these FM's and have an APAB'er modify them for your use.  Add an action to your particular notification using these the new Z FM's.

  • Occasional quality inspection stock in production order

    Hi experts,
I have QM activated to material with 03 and 04 control type but, in 04 control type I didnu2019t select u201CPost to Inspection Stocku201D because normally production stock go to unrestricted stock. But, in some productions I need that stock go to u201CInspection Stocku201D. How can I do to doing this in some productions orders?
    Thanks
    J.N.

    Thanks by your answer
Whats happen is that in some production versions we need that production stock entry to quality inspection. Before activate QM to this material in my production order I can change Control stock type (in Goods Receipt tab) to "Quality Inspection". Now systems give me an error message when I change this field.
Other option is in MIGO (Good Receipt > Order) change stock type to "2-Quality Inspection" but when I save the document system change this option to "Unrestricted use".
    Can anybody help me?

  • QM inspection at various quality gates during production

    Hi All,
We need clarification on how to plan inspection during production at various stages.
    1. How to trigger and use inspection point planning at various inspection stages??
    2. How will the characteristic be activated, processed and closed at various inspection stages??
    3. How to define different characteristic at different inspection stages?
    4. Will a single inspection lot be generated for entire production of a machine or separate lot will be generated at all the inspection stages??
If possible, please provide the process flow.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ritesh

    First questions
    1. How to trigger and use inspection point planning at various inspection stages??
.. QCC0 > Quality Planning > Inspection Planning > General > Define Identifier for Inspection Points
    2. How will the characteristic be activated, processed and closed at various inspection stages??
.. When user define new inspection point at result recording, system activates the characteristics automatically based on inspection plan.
    3. How to define different characteristic at different inspection stages?
.. Not possible with inspection point function in SAP standard
.. You have to define all characteristics at inspection plan or use add characteristic function at result recording.
    4. Will a single inspection lot be generated for entire production of a machine or separate lot will be generated at all the inspection stages??
.. It depends on production order process because inspection lot for production is generated based on production order.
    Second questions
    1. How can we define partial inspection points within production processes?
.. QCC0 > Quality Planning > Inspection Planning > General > Define Identifier for Inspection Points
    2. Process to activate and process characteristics at every inspection points?
    .. Yes
    3. Is it possible to allot score against those characteristics during inspection?
.. Allocation is not possible, only add is possible.
    4. How is partial check points processed and closed?
.. You can define it in operation header detail of inspection plan.
    5. Is defect recording done at every inspection point or at the end?
    .. Every inspection point
    5. How to summarize the result and close the inspection lot finally??
.. System summarize the result automatically when you execute usage decision transaction.

  • Backflush Semifinished product and stock post to quality inspection stock

    Dear Experts,
Please advise is it possible for the below in SAP. How to do?
When backflush "Semifinished product", system automatically post to quality inspection stock. Then it is skip for 9 lots. The 11th lot again post to quality inspection stock.
1st backflush posting -> post to quality inspection stock
2nd until 10th backflush posting -> post to unrestricted stock (skip)
11th backflush posting -> post to quality inspection stock
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Wong

    Dear Experts,
Let me further explain what I want.
Production people produce semifinished product, but quality inspection people not inspect all the product. For example they will inspect 1st and 11th batch of product only.
So I propose when backflush the semifinished product, system post the stock to quality inspection stock. Then production people know this batch of product need to be inspected and pass to quality inspection people. Once quality inspection people complete the inspection, they will release the material (UD) to unrestricted stock.
I have no idea on how to configure and maybe it is not possible in SAP. Please advise.
Question: Is it we should manually create inspection lot for each transaction (eg. backflush or material movement)?
    Thanks in advance.

    Wong

  • UD for production order quality inspection

    hi,
i have activated inspection 04 for a material and after GR it has been inspected and found ok. at the UD stage we are keeping the stock directly as unristricted stock and it is figuring in the inventory.but still phisically the material is not moved to the stores.  so the system shows excess inventory though it is not recieved phisically.
I heard that there is some way where in which during UD or after UD we can control the mateiral to be placed in stores by the stores person directly .
Is there any special transaction to keep the stock in to unristriced after inspection  but not in the UD stage.
    please suggest
    regards
    madan

I'm a bit confused.  But if I interpret what you said...
Material is GR and a stock relevant quality inspection lot is created.  It sounds though as if you have the indicator "post to QI" off in the material master inspection type setup so that the material is going right to unrestricted inventory and not QI.  In this manner it appears to the stores people that they have the material on hand, when in fact, it is still being inspected.  You want the stores people to be able to put-away this material so they know it is physically in the stores area.
The simplest thing that I can suggest is to turn on the "post to QI" stock so that when stores looks at inventory, they'll see the material is in the quality inspection.  If you want, have the quality people make the UD without posting the stock.  Then have the stores people do the stock posting in the UD screen when they receive the material.   You can use the user status to prevent stock postings until a UD is done and you can also use the user statuses to prevent the stores people from making the actual UD.  They can only do the stock posting.
This should give you the visibility you want while still allowing the QC people to make the decision on the UD.  And allow the stores people to post the material.

  • In-Process Quality Inspection in Rep Mfg

    Hi..
We have Rep Mfg scenario , and we want to chk the material while in-process.
In the Mtl Mastr we have maintained Insptn type as 13 .
In Rate Routing we have maintained a operation with  control key which requires Insptn characteristics n MIC is assigned in routing.
We have created a Planned order .
Now , requirement is dat system should not allow backflush activity until in-process inspetion rresult is recorded.
Whether Inspetion Lot gets created in Rep Mfg as soon as Planned Order is created..?
How to make the system to accomodate in - process inspection before backflush..?
    Please guide me with soln
    With Regards,

    Hi
Try by selecting reporting point in the rem profile.
suppose u have 10 operations ok
first 3 operations are production operation then 4th u want to go for inprocess inspection then for the 3rd operation select the control key as milestone key and 4th is quality control key with milestone confirmation.
Then when ever u go for backflush(MFBF)  first u have to confirm the up to 3rd operation then 4th operation confirmation.
by this u can do the inprocess inspection scenario for REM

  • How to scrap specail stock in quality inspection...

    hi guys:
I have a query, Is there any possible way to scrap the sale order stock in quality inspection without transferring it to the unrestricted stock and that also through inventory count(mi01,04,07),
Actually we have damage lighting stock which is received against sale order(automatically transferred to quality inspection), and customers are replaced with new units, then this stock is called back in head office, for this we have a complicated process in use, first this stock is scraped from suppose "a" storage location after transferring it to unrestricted, then loaded back to "a", to make an STR for it from Head Office.
So is there any way to scrap all special stock(complete storage location) against different sale orders at one go. whether the stock is available in unrestricted, quality inspection or blocked stock.
    I hope I am understood.
Please help me to get through this complicated process.
    Regards
    Salar...

    Thx you guys are fantastic; I appreciate your help;
below given is the post which has helped me, but there is some problem at the end, after the click of this point "11. (Click) in the gray box next to the session name and click . " there was nothing to proceed with, though I have posted the count through mi24 and post the difference with mi07, but still want to know what goes wrong with mi31, I have given the appropriate time for back ground processing....one thing to note there were 2 old inventory documents seen to be pending of the same storage location I was posting the count off, is this the reason of problem in processing of mi31,,,,,,please guide...
Hi Buddy This transaction is used to create physical inventory documents for multiple materials in your plant and storage locations. Inventory documents may be created and printed prior to the count date; however, the posting block should not be set until the day of the actual physical inventory count. 1. From the SAP R/3 System screen, enter transaction code MI31. 2. Click or press Enter. The Selected Data for Phys. Inventory Docmts w/o Special Stock screen displays. 3. Enter or select a value for each of the following required fields: - Plant (enter plant code) - Storage location (do one storage location at a time) - Name of session Remove the checkmark from the Materials marked for deletion field will exclude items previously marked for deletion from the inventory document. The default session name is MB_MI01. Enter your initials and the session number after the default session name to identify it as your own. Example: MB_MI01_WW1 - Max. no. items/doc - use 99 for main storage location; - use 300 for truck storage locations. - Planned count date - enter date of inventory count - Physical inventory number - enter fiscal year followed by plant number and storage location. Example: 2004FY60118071. MI31 Create Physical Inventory Documents (in batch) - Set posting block - check if count is immediate; do not check if creating batch documents ahead of the inventory count date. - Sorting u2013 click on and select Plnt- Stor.bin description-Material. 4. Erase any variants under u201CDisplay optionsu201D. 5. Click . The Batch Input Created for the Creation of Phys. Inv. Docmts screen displays. Enter through any system information messages or errors. 6. Click . The Batch Input: Session Overview screen displays. 7. Click in the gray box next to the session name to highlight row. Click . The Process Session {Session name} dialog box displays. 8. Select the Background radio button. 9. Click . The following message displays: u201CX session(s) transferred to background processingu201D. It takes approximately 5 to 6 minutes for the system to process a batch session. Please wait at least 5 minutes before continuing with Step 10. 10. Click in the gray box next to the session name and click . The Batch Input: Log Overview screen displays. 11. Click in the gray box next to the session name and click . The Batch Input Log for Session {Session name} screen displays. If the batch processing is completed the last line in the Message column should read u201CBatch input processing endedu201D. If this message does not appear on the last line adequate time was not provided for the batch process to be viewed. SAP continues the batch processing in the background. Use transaction MI24 to retrieve a complete list of Physical Inventory Documents created. 11. Record the physical inventory document numbers created. You will need the document numbers to print the inventory documents. Clicking on can print this list. 12. View the log for any errors generated. A material master record being blocked for updates at the time of processing may cause errors. Add the material to a physical inventory document using transaction code MI02. Regrds Yogesh

  • Purchase order GR need to post to Quality inspection stock

    Hi all,
How to post stock to Quality inspection directly for a PO. Even though in GR i make sure that its posting in Quality inspection, by default it is going to Urestricted stock. How to fix this by posting stock to Quality inspection directly?
    Thanks,
    Avani.

    Hi Avani,
    Pre-requesite:-
QM should be live at plant level.
Data toeb maintained in QM view.
You need to activate inspection type 01 (For GR against Purchase Order) and 04 (For GR from Production, against Process Order) in QM view of Material Master. Doing this all the GR quantity will be posted in Quality stock automatically.
If QM is not live, you need to activate the "Post to insp. Stock" inidicator in Materail master QM view.
