Question about deleted sections of multiple layers.

I was adding photos/layers to my file and when I added the most recent layer all of my other layers were affected. The other layers have giant deleted sections in them and only small portions of other layers show up. After I added this last photo, my project looks nothing like it did before and I can't get back to it.
Just wondering if there was anything I could do to fix it or be able to step backward?

Sounds like internal document corruption.
I take it you looked in the History panel and didn't get any joy by clicking an older state.
While it's not unheard of for software bugs to corrupt document data, I'd suggest checking your computer for failures. Look in the logs and maybe run a RAM diagnostic just to be sure you're not having hardware problems.

General question about iTunes Match and multiple libraries

Hello to everyone,
I have a general question about the iTunes Match service, which is available since yesterday in my country (Italy). Currently my library situation is the following:
Computer A (desktop, Windows 7): "big" iTunes library (about 20 GB), at the moment not associated with my Apple ID
Computer B (MacBook Air 2011): "small" iTunes library (about 5 GB), associated with my Apple ID
At the moment, both my iOS devices (iPhone 4 and iPad 2) are synchronized with the smaller library on the MacBook Air.
Question is as follows: should I subscribe to iTunes Match, would it be possible to upload the "big" library (provided I associate it with my Apple ID) to iCloud while keeping my devices synchronized with the "small" one?
Ideally, at the end of the day, the situation should be the following: both iOS devices with music from the small library + possibility of downloading songs from iCloud (coming from the big one). Is this possible?
Maybe the question sounds stupid, but I want to be sure about this before paying for the service.

Yes, you could also associate your larger library with iTunes match if you associated your Apple ID with it. However any purchases in the library made from another Apple ID will not be matched with iTunes much.
If both libraries are part of iTunes match, then all your devices will see all of the content from both libraries, which content you choose to have on those devices and which you have accessible via iTunes match is entirely up to you.

A question about foreign key to multiple tables

I have a question about creating foreign key and I would appreciate if you could kindly give me a hand. Here are my tables:

How can I deal with this problem? Whenever there is an INSERT or UPDATE I have to make sure that the value of the column "team_id" in the table "AGENT" is a valid value either in "TEAM1" or "TEAM2"

First of all I want to say sorry: "Sorry!" I do not want that this topic will look like a complaint. I just want to clarify some points for me and maybe for everybody (and make this world a little bit better) If you feel bad about this topic or some dislike, just ignore it, I can overcome it)
First of all it is really can be confusing what is going there (in this forum branch) and how to use this. I suggest to create and pin some topic which will explain everything:
- What type of service do you provide? Just bios unlocking or something else?
- What is bios unlocking? Give some typical scenarios for using unlocked bios: overclocking, specific options (like "vtd" disabled by default, but I want use it) I suppose you know tons of examples. Give some common list of unlocked features or at least description of what we will have inside unlocked bios.
- How to make a topic? What should I include in the name of the topic? Notebook model name or also bios?
- What to put into topic? What information you need? Bios name, bios date, EC version, EC build? Do you need link to the bios file?
- What is the usual "life cycle" of procedure? Create topic, wait for approve, donate, wait again, say "thank you"
- How much is the typical amount of donation? If it is "up to you", say at least some typical range like from 5 to 10$. Or at least say that the biggest donation was 314$ (this will be interesting and someone will try to beat it)
And one more personal question from me: Is it so critical to clear CMOS after flashing bios? I mean I have a notebook with warranty sticker and I do not want to remove it. Yes I know it will not void my warranty, but in any case having this sticker will make all warranty things much more easier. And yes I know that flashing unofficial bios theoretically void my warranty, but I see no problem if I would use it for enabling, for example, virtualization in unofficial bios and after that replace factory defected memory. In my opinion it is not connected with bios at all and I should be able to use virtualization and a lot of other hidden option in my notebook (because it is my).

No, we won't make a step by step guide as someone needing a modded bios should know what information is needed and what he wants. If not don't ask for a mod bios that isn't covered by warranty and which will leave you with no one else but yourself to blame if something goes wrong. Donation depends on the person modding. If the donation asked is too high for you just say no thanks.
Also bios unlocking is no "service" of the forum but by the person doing it. Simply ask for an unlock wait if someone responds if that is possible and if so ask that person for how much to donate. Shouldn't be that hard and quite easy to guess.
If you are afraid of voiding your warranty this section is most likely not the right section for you. Using unofficial bios versions might end up in having a dead machine without warranty.

Question about brightening images and automating layers

I've been using Photoshop CS5 for a while now but there are still a few things I'm wondering about.
The first is about brightening an image without adding or reducing too much contrast at the same time. If I increase the Brightness slider in the Brightness/Contrast window it often adds too much unwanted contrast and will wash out parts of the image or cause too much saturation. Same thing when using Curves to brighten the image. On the other hand I've found that using Levels to brighten the image reduces too much contrast and desaturates the image too much...and then when I add more contrast in afterward, parts of the image will become washed out again. So far the best solution I've found has been to brighten the images with Shadows/Highlights, but this will often pose its own set of problems by creating or eliminating shadows in a way that doesn't flatter the image. It can also add too much contrast in some cases. Is there any other way around this that I'm missing? Or is this all to be expected when brightening images? The only other workaround I've found has been to add in separate un-affected layers for the areas of the picture that become too washed out when the brightness is increased but then there's always a problem of getting those parts of the picture to match up with the rest afterward.
The second is about having layers for each change applied to an image. Is there any way to have each change that is applied to an image automatically also be made into its own separate layer? For example, if I sharpen a part of the image that would automatically become layer 2, then if I adjusted the saturation that would automatically become layer 3 and so on. I know the History Panel does something very similar to this, and that's the type of thing I'm looking for, but I'd like each of those changes being made into a layer instead of just a recorded history state. You seem to have no firm grasp yet on the concept of non-destructive image editing using Photoshop’s existing options, specifically Adjustment Layers, Smart Objects/Smart Filters and Layer Masks.
The Layers structure is a much more valuable tool than the History in my opinion.
Instead of applying an Adjustment or Filter destructively you might want to try applying it as an Adjustment Layer or a Smart Filter (either with its own Mask or on a copy of the Smart Object with a Layer Mask, because all Smart Filters applied to one instance of a Smart Object must share one Mask).
Those Layers can subsequently be changed with regard to Opacity, Blend Mode etc. or the Adjustment and Filter settings themselves.

Question About Deleting Parts Of Clips and iMovie Trash

Why are small deleted portions of clips not moved to the trash, where you can recover them? It looks like if you want to delete small sections of individual clips, those deletions cannot be recovered once the project is saved. Am I missing something?

Hmmm. Something doesn't sound quite right. When I delete a portion of a clip here — after splitting a clip, for example — the deleted portion goes in the iMovie trash. To retrieve the clip I can just drag it from the Trash window back to the Timeline or Clips pane.
That's not how it's working for you? Are you using iMovie 6?
There is another way to retrieve the clip, which relies on iMovie's non-destructive editing feature. It is useful when you've used Direct Trimming to shorten a clip, which does NOT send the deleted portion to the Trash. (There is no clip for the trimmed portion.) It's also useful after you've emptied the iMovie Trash, which removes a split clip, but does NOT remove the clip's source file.
That is to Option-drag the shortened clip to some other location (Option-dragging creates a copy) then select the clip and choose Advanced > Revert Clip to Original. That reverts that clip to its original length. Depending on the editing you've done to the clip, it may be necessary to select the menu command more than once.
Otherwise, I can't think of what might cause it to work differently for you.
Please say how you are creating the clip that is deleted. Is it a split clip?

Questions about delete and Trash in Mail in Mavericks

Mail in Mavericks has so many issues perhaps nobody knows the answers to these questions, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
I have 6 accounts: 4 are Gmail and 2 are Hostgator. All set at IMAP. Default settings. The following were all done with a Gmail account.
1. As a test, I sent a reply to an email. Then I deleted the original email to which I replied. My first question is what is the difference between CMD + Delete and just Delete? The Edit menu says the delete shortcut is CMD + Delete, but Delete also seems to delete the message.
2. After deleting I used "Undo Delete" to attempt to undo the delete. However the deleted email did not return to the Inbox. Why not?
3. In another mail thread, I sent a reply to somebody confirming a meeting tomorrow. I did not delete anything in this thread. And the reply shows up in Sent mail. But the reply also shows up in Trash. Why would that be?

1. No differerence, IMO.
2. It is not Mavericks'. It never worked with gmail. A question of automatic, unidirectional synchronization, I guess.
3. The messages in the trash are not those that you sent, they are the drafts automatically saved by Mail.

Question about delete file

The aim is simple, first make a copy of specified file, then delete the old file.
I use FileInputStream and FileOutputStream to do the copy job.
     FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(oldFile);
     FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(newFile);
     // do copy
After close these 2 stream, do delete.
like:
     fis.close();
     fos.close();
     oldFile.delete();
Here I have a trouble. Sometimes I cannot delete the file successfully(no one else is opening it), I have to call garbage collector first.
like:
     fis.close();
     fos.close();
     fis = null;
     fos = null;
     System.gc();
     oldFile.delete();
Isn't the stream's connection to the file on disk already been closed by 'fis.close()'?
Who can tell me why? Thanks.

KDE4 - Questions about the desktop and multiple monitors.

I'm giving KDE4 a try and find it pretty good so far. I do have a few questions though. I have two monitors running off an Nvidia card.
First question concerns the top of the screens. There seems to be an empty 'panel(?)' at the top of each screen. All that's in it is a grayed out cashew for the widgets. Unfortunately I can't move any window into the area covered by that bar or panel. Is there a setting somewhere I should change or is there a way to get rid of the top 'panels'?
The next concerns other desktops. What happens is that when I switch to desktop 2 my right-most screen goes black. It loses the wallpaper. I can move windows on to it and it performs ok. It's just weird that it's black. Again, is there a setting somewhere? Currently my xorg.conf is set up to use twinview. Should I try xinerama?
I have a directory called Desktop in my home dir. I have a few ".desktop" files in it. These are displayed on the screen in a large rectangle labeled "Desktop". However, when I tell KDE4 to display one of the standard menu items on the desktop it places them outside this rectangle. Is there a way to control this behavior and also to control the size of the rectangle?
Lastly, my "panel" or taskbar only appears on the left screen. Is there a way to spread it across both???

Question about deletion of checked out file using CMIS connector

When testing file deletion with Adobe Drive connected to an implementation of CMIS server, I ran into some mildly unexpected behavior for when the file is checked out.
I successfully checked out a file through Adobe Drive then deleted the file. Our server has a constraint that checked out files are protected against deletions, renaming, and moves. So, I was expecting the operation to fail. Instead, the result was that the file had its check out canceled.
In the AtomPub binding, a cancel check out is specified by deleting the pwc version of the the checked out file. So, this behavior did not strike me as too far off my expectations and I confirmed that the objectid in the deletion request sent by Adobe Drive was the id for pwc version of the file.
Is this behavior intentional? Or is this an artifact of the way Adobe Drive caches the objectid of files? Check out requests do return an objectid and that objectid is that of the new pwc version of the file. So, the later behavior would not surprise me.

To bypass the possible constraint during deleting a checked-out file, Adobe Drive intentionally try to cancel check out this file by deleting the pwc version of the checked-out file.

A question about Adobe Illustrator and saving layers....

I use illustrator to create animation art. Basically, I use each layer as create a seperate frame of art - it's a great wayto constanctly check to see if my character's movement is smooth.
However, this often to leads to files that are hundreds of layers deep. I then have to save each layer seperately - this can literally take hours. Is there any way to automatically save each layer as it's own separate file?

into bitmaps, and PNG looks terrific if I don't change the size. Until I
learn how to convert vectors, I may use Fireworks for long, frame by frame

2 questions about blog section

Hi,
On my blog section, there are 2 strange things going on. First, the text color on my main blog page is red, and I cannot edit it there, it says I have to edit it on my entries page. I do this, and the red still stays there...any ideas why?
Also, I have 3 blog entries, and on the most recent for some reason it put a thumbnail to the left of the text entry on the main blog page. It didn't do that for the other 2, and I cannot get the thumbnail out of there. If you have any help, I would appreciate it.

The appearance of your main blog page is controlled by BlogName.css which you'll find at iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/SiteName/BlogName/BlogName_files. You'll need to open BlogName.css in a text editor (TextEdit is OK provided you have it set to 'Ignore rich text commands in HTML files' on the Open and Save pane in TextEdit Preferences, or you can use TextWrangler, available free from Bare Bones Software).
Search through the file until you find the section which begins
.Summary_Title {
The first line here defines the colour of the Title text in the list of entries on your main blog page. Change the value there to whatever you prefer, save the file back to your iDisk and sync it with .Mac to upload the change there. Open your site in your browser and the Title colour should have changed. You may need to refresh the page (possibly several times) or empty the browser's cache before you see the change.
One caveat: Be sure to save your edited version of BlogName.css on your computer as a backup. Publishing to .Mac will generally leave your edited version untouched, but there's always a risk that the file could be overwritten. You'll know if this has happened when you see the entry titles revert to red. Just copy your backup version of BlogName.css to your iDisk and sync with .Mac again.
You may want to perform a similar edit with Archives.css, which you'll find at iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/SiteName/BlogName.

Question about idvd project with multiple movies

Is there a way to drop in multiple movies and have each movie play right away when it is clicked? Right now the first movie plays on one click but the rest go to another menu where you have to click play movie. I just want my main menu to show the 4 movies I have and then immediately play them when they are clicked.

You can put them in an iDVD slideshow and they will play consecutively. But don't assign a transition in the slideshow:
